Remington Arms Company 870 youth model remington refuses to repair

870 20 gauge youth model sent in September 2020 for warranty repair as advised by Remington, it was refused, sent back to me, lost in shipping for about a month, finally was delivered busted up and in need of cosmetic repair now. Remington refuses to repair gun due to bankruptcy blah blah blah. I should not have to pay somebody to repair Remingtons mistake. I bought Remington because of their reputation but i am very disappointed. The story is much longer but this is a short version. I do have pictures and documentation if you want to see them.

Desired outcome: Repair my gun

Remington Arms Company model 597 22

On March 19th 2017 I purchased a Remington model 597 22 from Academy sports and outdoors inEdmond Ok. When we took the gun to the range for my son to shoot{birthday present} it proceeded to fire 4-5 rounds in an automatic fashion. Very dangerous! After speaking to a service rep the firearm in question was sent to a smith to repair. When the rifle was sent back I loaded a clip and fired all rounds off just to verify the repair and put it up to be shot another day. for personal reasons we unable to sight in until today. The rifle shot off the paper by a foot! After several attempts to adjust the scope I had the same results. I tightend all the screws on the mounts and rings only to find out this could void my warranty. This weapon has had less than 20 rounds put through it and is brand new! Serial# D3021815. Service request # was613581. When I requested a refund for the weapon I was told that I had to have 3 repair attempts before a refund would be considered. I find this ridiculous. Sell a faulty firearm and not stand behind it? I will consider this a learning lesson but rest assured I will never purchase another Remington!

You're absolutely correct in never purchasing another Remington -- in fact, don't purchase any firearms. Thankfully we're finally evolving into a society that won't have our allow firearms.

LOL you must live in Australia...because you sure aren't referring to where I live. Here in the United States we are about to have our firearms freedoms expanded with the SHARE Act which will allow for, among other things, the deregulation of suppressors...aka "silencers" as you ignorant anti-gun types out there like to call them. Obama was unable to pass any new gun control laws...and it certainly isn't going to happen anytime during OUR President Donald Trumps time in office...nor with the current Supreme Court we have.

Take the firearm to a good gunsmith, have it fixed then use the ### that sold it to you for target practice. No one will blame you.

Remington Arms Company Nitro 12 Gauge Shotgun misfires

I purchased a nitromag 12 ga. Shotgun and it malfunctioned/misfired on multiple huints, even after remington supposedly repaired it. I paid for 3 different hunts of which all were disasters due to faulty shotgun. I even purchased a remington 870 supermag to use while the nitromag was being repaired. After the second attempt to repair did not work, I told remington I wanted a different gun. If anyone would like to see the photos of the shells that were misfired or see the entire string of emails back and forth, please email me and I will be happy to send the entire string. Below is my final letter sent to remington after a series of bad service:

Gentlemen,

I just got off the phone with foster. I am more than a little irritated that my gun has been there for 2 weeks and nothing has been done. I emailed 8 days ago following up on the gun and never received a response (see email string below). I call this morning and am informed that remington is awaiting my receipt so a refund can be issued. I do not recall a refund ever being discussed, only that I would be informed what remington would do to make me happy after receipt of the gun and reviewing the situation. A refund may cover the cost of the purchase, but will not cover the 3 hunts, which cost me approximately $1, 000.00, on which the shotgun malfunctioned resulting in a highly unsuccessful hunt as the gun misfired almost every third shot. After the first hunt, I thought that the problem was that I keep my trigger finger on the front of the trigger guard when carrying it (my 870 wingmaster release is on the back of the trigger guard, the 887 release is on the front) and I thought I may be slightly releasing the slide. After the second hunt, I realized the pin was actually striking the primer, but not hard enough to consistently cause it to fire. I took the gun to gander mountain and they had it for 2 weeks before informing me they had to send it back to you guys. I had 3 more hunts scheduled and was told that it would probably take 5-6 weeks to get the gun back, so I purchased 2 additional remington 870 supermags (one as a backup so this never happened to me again). I finally received my gun back and went the following week on a duck hunt in anuhuac, texas out in the middle of a marsh in pit blinds (no room for anything but your gun and an ammo box), and the same thing happens with my gun. I do not want the nitromag back as I am now the proud owner of my original 870 wingmaster that is 30 years old and is only used for dove and quail, 2 remington supermags, and an 887 nitromag that has not worked properly to dateall pump shotguns. As stated before, I am out well over $1, 000.00 in hunts (vacation time, drive time, gas and actual guided hunt costs) not to mention the related cost of the purchase of the supermags (of which I love and want to keep). If remingtons intent to remedy the situation and keep a loyal customer is credit back the money I paid for the nitromag, then so be it. I will contact academy and see if I can get a copy of the receipt of purchase for a refund from remington. You should also know that I have always been a huge remington fan and never had an issue with any of my guns (I currently own 6 remington shotguns and rifles). But after this debacle, I am entertaining switching to benelli shotguns. The salesman at both carters country & academy tried to sway me to purchase the benelli super nova, but my loyalty to remington and american products induced me to purchase remington.

I had a similiar problem with remington arms. For about a month of bad customer service and rudeness I called the DEALER that I bought my rifle from and told the owner what I was going thru, he could not believe it until they didn't return his call. He finally got hold of the right people and in about 10 days I had my new Rifle. I should have called the dealer first. The store with excellent customer service is Buckeye Outdorrs. I have a Browning 12 ga. I hunt with now, no more buying remingtons!
