I was told I was getting a secured credit card with $500.00 on it. I would pay them $24.95 per month and build my credit.
I was lead to believe I was approved for a secured credit card with $500.00 on the card. I agreed to pay them $24.95 a month and it wouldchelp rebuild my credit. I never recieved anything from them not even a note or an empty envelope...nothing. They have taken $24.95 from my husbands hard earned money we put on our pre paid credut card. We just recently lost our 4-week old baby girl. I am so heart broken it feels like it is going to eventually kill me. My husband works so hard everyday & I thought I could maybe help out our family, but instead these scam artists are stealing the money he works his butt off for everyday&night. Please help me! We cant afford to lose any more money.

These people are taking money out of my account and I never signed up for their card! I need to contact them, but can't find a way to email them or a phone number. Does anyone have that information? I'm very upset.
i happen to notice on my bank statement you guys took money out of my bank account.i do not have this merchandise.so someone must have given your company my info.without me knowing so i would like to know how i can get this money refunded to my account A/S/A/P/i seen there was a charge to my account for the amount of 29.95, and a few others which i was charged overdraft fees for please cancel the subscription and refund my money.you can reach me at [protected].
I have gotten emails and card things in the mail from a place called horizon gold card... they say they are a credit card place and that with a fee and so much a month they will send you a credit card... instead I get a card that I can only use online at their store place... I have called them to get it canceled and everything and they wouldn't cancel the card i never ordered from them and never wanted to... I thought they was a credit card company as to that is what they said they was... every month they take money from my account and they wont cancel that card every time I call they either hang up on me or they get really rude with me or make up excuses so they don't have to cancel the card... I just don't know what to do anymore... I even had my wife called for meant they still wont cancel or anything and each month it takes money from my account.
They took money off of my card that they were not suppose to. Now I cant get in touch with them.
I totally agree, I was scammed as well. I'm pissed because when I found out they had taken money out of my account, after I realized their CC was a shopping card and not a credit or debit card, I cancelled. A month and a half later they returned my money, and before noon the following day they had withdrew the money again. Thats where I'm standing with them now. I collaborating with my Bank and I'm gonna get on them. I just wanna know why our Bank can't look out for their customers a little better. Thank you, Lloyd Hamilton. Maybe you can go to your bank and have them stop payment to the Horizon company. there will probably be a one time fee, but that is better than Horizon taking money out each month. Hope this helps...

I checked the average credit card website and horizongold card services website appeared which said that I could get a credit card with 500.00 dollars of cash credit for a down payment of 29.00 dollars and .95 cents it did not say at all that I had to buy merchandise with the credit and no cash withdrawals, Im not complaining too much but I first decided to give it a chance because I like to do vending work, but when I tried to make an order the shipping and handling was more than the down payment, and all I make is social security benifits and temp employment I am a disabled veteran and have been taking medicine for over 20 years I cant afford the card if I am paying too much maybe you can lower the shipping and handling and i dont mind paying the monthly fee.

it sounds like you have been hacked your computer i do not do my banking online i make my payments by phone i never run my bank account online if i do i use the do not track on my computer also if i shop online i go to the store and by a prepaid debit card and use that online but if i were you i would call or go to your bank and ask them for a new account number tell them your computer was hacked and you have charges on your account you would like to dispute with the name and withdrawl numbers of the items you did not recognize if its a good bank they will sit down with you change your account number and help you put in a dispute which normally you will get your money back no one wants a lawsuit hope this helps some
i was told that it was a credit card i could use any where and then i caome to find out that i spent over 70 dollars on a card i can only use on thier junky website i dont want this i want my money back on my debit card asap

i went thru a bunch of b.s. with these ###s i never heard of horizon gold until they withdrew 29.95 from my acct.i contacted them after numerous calls they promised my money back instead they withdrew 24.95more out of my acct.im disabled and only receive 174.00 monthly right now so thats a lot for me all they did was cancel my membership im having same problems with a couple other sites they actually threatened to come to my house and collect money i never borrowed id be in jail if i was doin these illegal practices anybody honest anymore what the hell this country coming too!
unauthorized debit card charge
I received a postactrd in the mail for a guranteed $500 unsecured Net First Credit Line. I went on line and applied for the credit line and it was required that I provide my credit card number and was told that I would not e billed but that is exactly what happened. My debit card was billed $29.95 within about 3 minutes of me inputting my card number.

I was charged 24.95 in October after I cancelled this card back in June when I called to find out they stated my card was not cancelled and was in the inactive state because I never used. I then asked do you bill your customers a monthly fee they said yes so why wasn't I billed if I never cancelled the card as you stated, silence. I was transferred to 3 different people before I was able to "cancel" when I asked for the reference number I was given 6 digits and then hung up on. THESE PEOPLE ARE SCAM ARTIST! UNPROFESSIONAL, UNETHICAL AND I WISH NOTHING BUT HOT COALS ON THEIR HEADS FOR ROBBING THE HARD WORKING PEOPLE TRYING TO MAKE A HONEST LIVING FOR THEIR FAMILIES. SAY NOOOOOOOOOOOOO TO HCS!
unauthorized money withdrawl from my account
I recently applied for a credit card with a low max on charges from Horizon Card Services. They have deducted two months so far without my authorization. I am trying to rebuild my credit and how can companies like this one be allowed to do unscrupulous business. If you want to buy something, it has to be from their outlet and they don't offer anything of any use to purchase. Toboggans, tshirts, electrical plugs, etc. Not a thing that I or probably anyone else would want. I am charged $24.95 each month for nothing and I can not get hold of them. They are taking advantage of honest people trying to make an honest living. It is the "Scam of all Scams". One thing that is stressed on credit counseling is to get a small credit card, pay it off every month so you will get a good report on your credit and you get scammed on something like this. Someone needs to do something to stop this and if I could get an address/phone number I would gladly persue this. This really makes my blood boil.

I was just looking into getting a loan on-line, cash advance only, and credit card services kept popping up. I guess because I was considering getting a bigger loan.
It was offerered thru certain credit card services, which I didn't want in the first place. I just wanted a fast online cash advance or payday loan up to 5oo.oo up to 1000.00.
You know when you go into these sites they offer to help you get a loan. I didn't think they would introduce credit card offers as a way of getting a cash advance loan. But I guess
they do what they have to do to help you. But one of these Credit Card sites I looked into was Horizon. They withdrew 29.95 from my account without my authorization/
permission! Just because I went into their site. Now that's not right and it really pisses me off! I looked into my account wondering where my money had gone. Sure enough it said Horizon Card Services. I tried to call the famous number [protected] and the recording said to call back at their normal business hrs...or something like that. I never thought this could happen to me. No wonder I'm afraid to go on-line. All these freakin SCAMS! Well some people are Honest. Not HORIZON or whoever is behind it. They need
to be locked up! And I want and need my money back. Are there any lawyers or firms looking into this? I'd like to be helped out in this matter. SERIOUSLY!

they told me of a unsecured credit line of 500 dollars, when I received the card it was not a credit card talked about cash advances not capable of that this is the biggest scam I've ever seen. They also said I could build my credit charged me 35.00 dollars for something I cannot use that money could have went on a bill.

I ordered this Horizon Gold card because I thought it was either MasterCard or Visa. I paid the initial fee of 79.95 and was waiting for the card to arrive when I found many unsatisfied customers of Horizon Gold, and decided to cancel the card.
The services that they provide are not even worth paying for. They claim you get for free credit reports, roadside assistance, and cash advances, but in reality you have to pay extra for all of this.
I called them and a lady said that since the account was open for 10 days, I would only get a partial refund! I requested to speak to her supervisor and he offered a free month (they have a $14.95 maintenance fee or something.)and to increase my credit limit if I don't cancel. I requested a cancellation and a full refund. He said OK.
A month later I saw that Horizon Gold charged me their $14.95 monthly fee again. I also received no refund. I called them again, this time they refused to refund me my last month payments, and promised to cancel.
When last week I saw a charge from them again, I was outraged. I am now contacting my lawyer and FTC, and BBB, and my Attorney General.
Thanks to all for your comments re: Horizon Gold. They prevented me from making a huge mistake. I am on Social Security and can't afford to be ripped off, so while doing a web search, I came across this site and made me make the right choice NOT to accept the Horizon Gold card. Thanks all.

I was searching for a credit card to help me through the holiday season when horizon gold card pop up claiming to give 500 dollars credit limit with out credit checks or employment checks. So I started the application process giving my personal info including my current credit card info, however when it came to the part asking for my card secure code a the holy spirit advise me to look the company up to see if it was truly legit that is when i came across this website. I was so relieved that I looked it up before going through with it so I went back to the page and pressed cancel then an message box appeared and asked if I really wanted to navigate from this page and I pressed OKAY all of a sudden it moved me to another page that looked like a home page at the bottom it had options Yes to go ahead with the company and No Thanks, so I pressed No Thanks. Now here is where the scam happened a page saying thanks and the company has went ahead and took 29.95 from my account. I was in SHOCK. HOW THE HELL CAN THEY DO THAT, JUST IGNORE ME SAYING CANCEL AND NO THANKS AND TAKE MONEY OUT OF MY ACCOUNT WITH OUT MY PERMISSION. HELP PLEASE WHAT DO I DO I NEED THAT MONEY TO GET MY SONS CHRISTMAS PRESENTS!

i am very upset with the horizon gold card rip-off! I paid into their scam patiently for 7-months waiting for Christmas to finally arrive, and when it did, i had already paid 39 dollars times 7months...whatever that comes out to be.Approximately 280 dollars. When i went to order for my girlfriend and her young daughter, i found out that they were only a very small private shopping network which cosisted of products that were overpriced as much as 100 percent mark-ups! And to make matters worse, when i arrived at the check-out they formulated this ridiculous handling fee whichn was over 50% of the total cost of my goods. They(of course )wanted this to be paid for up-front and out-of-pocket.Having nothing to do with my already skyrocketed overpriced merchandise.These people should be locked -up for crimes against humanity, and taking advantage of people who are trying to establish their good credit again.

I am back to say, I am sorry for all who have been had by horizon's false ad. However i did have a hold at my bank and was very happy to know they stopped it in time! However, it is said to have so much false and misleading ad's allowed online or anywhere today! I can't say i've learned my lesson exactly. As everytime I believe i do, another ad just turn's their perspective round. However I am much more careful. And after alot more research I've found success with a 100% real visa card! I no longer need to be bother with these advertisement's, it feel's good. In case anyone need's to know off hand. The whole horizon thing is only gonna hurt your pocket in the long run. If you spend that card on their junk crap stuff (nothing high end at all). and exspensive- a t-shirt you can by at walmart/k-mart, etc. You have to pay that back plus for account 30.00 to 40.00 a mth.Then tell me is it really worth it? To think it's worth establishing credit- You may as well just work your finger's to the Bone. This is part I the advertisement they should inform about before hand. [censored], I fell for it. I talked to them about this card misrepresenting itself and she denied it. I wondered why the card asked for a visa/MasterCard but went with it anyway. I asked about this and was told they label visa/MasterCard in order to bill your card. I asked for a cancellation and they kept arguing wtih me and they tried to keep me in program by giving me an additional $2000 dollar advance. I denied the offer and they told me I was cancelled on their end but it is up to my institution to let go of the funds. I will be calling my bank now and as everyone else says, be warned, this is not a credit card, it's a merchinse card.

ah its a legit customer service number on the site, I talked to the lady and all of these reviews are wrong. its a cc to help build your credit, it says right in the terms and conditions that they are going to charge you and that they charge shipping, because unsecured means no deposit. ### people learn how to read and you wouldnt have these problems.

The avertisment explainted as if this was a Visa Credit Card with a limited of $500.00 and a fee of $29.95 debiting my cheching account. I was miss informed this is a merchendice membership with a monthley fee of $24.95. I applied for the Horizon Visa Credit Card on July 06.2010. I had called customer service and cancelled on July 7, 2010. Management said my account would not be debited. Money was taken from my account on the July 8, 2010 in the amount of $29.95. I would like my refund back in my account. Do not debit my checking account next month.

Horizon Gold Card is not something that you want. I left my steady job to work at this credit card company. I only worked there for a week because I couldn't live knowing what I was doing to the poor people that were victims of this company.

They also have the net trust card, it is the same thing. The visa logo on one of the pages misleads people, it is not a major credit card.
They say that they offer you a credit line of $500 dollars. THIS CREDIT LINE CAN ONLY BE USED ON THEIR WEBSITE! This is that website. http://www.thehorizonoutlet.com/ Everything on the website is tacky and really cheap and they charge you a very large amount for the shipping and processing. This is part of what actually made me quit. There was a customer asking why he was paying OVER $100 in shipping and processing. My manager told me I had to lie and tell him that we didn't control that.
It's supposed to "report to the credit bureau Transunion to build your credit". I had a customer call in and say she called transunion after having the card 4 months and they didn't have any record of horizon.
They charge you $29.95 to activate it. IT IS ACTIVATED AS SOON AS YOU APPLY ONLINE AND CHARGES YOU IMMEDIATELY! DO NOT ENTER YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER YOU WILL BE CHARGED! When you receive the card in the mail it says horizon on the front. It doesn't look like a credit card because it doesn't have a bar code! That's because you can only use it on their website. IF YOU RECEIVED THAT CARD IN THE MAIL, YOU ARE BEING CHARGED, EVEN IF YOU NEVER USED IT AND THREW IT AWAY! AND IT WILL CONTINUE TO CHARGE YOU UNTIL YOU CANCEL!
When you call they will try to talk you out of cancelling and pretty much ignore you and practically hang up on you after reading their script. IMPORTANT: IF THEY IGNORE WHAT YOU ARE SAYING THREATEN TO CALL THE BBB! AS SOON AS YOU SAY THAT, THEY ARE REQUIRED TO GET A MANAGER. the hidden fees
I did not know that the fees were going to be taken out right away. I was told that the fees would be taken out later and that is why I agreed to the terms. I would like for the fees to be refunded, but I can not find the phone number online. I was not told that the fees would be taken out right away.
they implied they were giving me a visa or master card with a limit to help me restablish my credit
i tracey j. huff was and from a lot of other customers, there feedback was all negative after recieving my horizon gold card i was directed to go to their website to activeate my card, in which however is not a credit card such as a visa or master card. i would have never excepted this offer, i thought that it was honesly a credit card with a 500.00$ limit to help me get my credit back on track! i have no use for this or the time to be misled by a company that states they help u restore ones credit. that's what they are saying that's what their doing! if i would have known about this prior i would have never accepted this offer. so 1st thing come monday they will most definitly be hearing from me and many others. this is what u call FRAUD! misleading people to believe something totally different than what they wanted! this is a bunch of more BS! ms [protected]@yahoo.com and if i have to i most definatly hire my attorney, so some body better be able to help me! tracey huff
do not want this card
This Net First Platinum card is nothing like I expected. I didn't know I would only be permitted to shop from horizonoutlet store. Do not want this card. Account needs to be terminated immediately. Thanks

This card is worthless nothing good to buy if I wanted to pls don't get this card
I specifically said I didnt even want this card and they still took money out of my bank. Im calling today to see about a refund but I'm guessing that won't happen. Glad they have to values and will rob people of their money. I knew this would be a bad card so I checked "No" yet Im still paying for it. WTF! So mad right now.
I was dupped the same way and they still keep taking $24.95 a month from my account after I've requested termination. They are very misleading and have absolutely nothing but junk on their website to purchase anyway.

This company disguises themselves as a "credit card". I received my card only to find out it wasn't a credit card at all. The card can only be used on their website. Once I went to the website and entered my card number and zip code it would not let me enter the site. I want my money back because this card is the biggest rip-off I have ever heard of or been sucked in by. I needed a credit card to help with financial woes and instead I got ripped off and taken advantage of. Don't get sucked in.

being dishonest
I have read many of the complaints listed at this site about horizon gold, I only wish I had seen them when I also payed 79.00 to get my card also thinking like so many others that this was a credit card (visa or mastercard
but it was not Ive never used this card and ive had it since 2007 it is a scam to get people to buy things from their company and then charge you interest on this crap they want to sell you although they do report this to a credit bureou (ive seen it on my credit report) they were decieving in the way they get peaple to pay there fees, to get a card i will NEVER use I never got my money back, but it's definetly a good lesson learned

who told you that it was a credit card and that it would build credit?
It clearly states on their website that it can only be used to buy their junk, and that it will not repair/rebuild credit.
from their terms of agreement on their website:
"The Horizon Gold Merchandise Card credit line can be used exclusively online at thehorizonoutlet.com. Please read complete terms and conditions."
"Upon final processing, your new Horizon Gold Card will be reported to a major credit bureau as an unsecured credit line."
"HORIZON CARD SERVICES ACCOUNT IS A LINE OF CREDIT THAT CAN BE USED BY AN ACCOUNT HOLDER TO SHOP EXCLUSIVELY AT OUR ONLINE SHOPPING WEBSITE."
