I ordered 2 resin model car kits from Reliable Resin. I sent money via PayPal. I waited a month till I realized that it can be a scam. I called them and they apologized and told that some problems appeared and they need more time for delivery. Maybe it is a scam…
I also fell pray to this [censored]!...Soaked me for $83.00 then wanted me to buy more stuff before the first order even showed up...this guy is a crook DO NOT BUT ANYTHING from this place...for those of us that did we just are funding his retirement, so sad to take advantage of the modeling community.
I have placed and paid my order two years ago. I haven't got the goods until now and I don't get any answer from my emails. I highly recommend to every body not to order anything at Reliable Resin. I will also advise PayPal since payements are going through this chanel.
I have been silent for a very long time... I wish that people would just find a different can to kick. The only thing I would suggest to Don is: I think he should consider changing the name of his company to "Band wagon" since that seems to be what people have done here.
I have dealt with plenty of people that I wouldn't trust sending me a jar full of air... but, never a thing about them. But Don, has got everyone's footprints runnin' up and down his back because someone somewhere got their back-hairs up about something once - and then... here came the Band Wagon Groupies.
I am just sick of hearing a good man get dumped on time and time again year after year, if you don't like what people say about the man - then go elsewhere and cut the guy some slack for a friggin' change
. As for me... when I need something done right in "resin" - I will go to someone I know can "rely on". So from me and the other non lemmings out there... "Thanks Don"!

I haven't jumped on any bandwagon. I've apparently traveled down the primrose path. Glad you have a good relationship with Don, but he soaked me for almost $300.00. He is aware that I'm retired on disability and yet he continually promised delivery of product, lied about what he was going to send and just flat refused to honor his committments. That was in 2011 that I placed my order with him. I will say that he did send two small previous orders. One would think that he would try to satisfy repeat customers. I even offered to settle for parts amounting to about 1/3 of what I paid him and he refused that as well. Good men don't do this kind of stuff. Maybe it's not follow the leader or jump on the bandwagon but maybe it IS that he continues to screw people.
I just received my order of two cars and parts. Yes it took awhile and I was worried a bit, Don had problems of sorts, personal and with the resin. But he did come through. I just stumbled on this site going to his. He even made a point to call me a few times on his dime and I'm in Winnipeg, Manitoba.. Just try to be patient I guess and talk nice, makes a big difference in any situation.

I spoke with Mr. Theune last night. He promised to send the parts within a week. I trust him and think that he is trying to fill the orders that have been placed. I hold no animosity towards him and look forward to receiving my parts. I am willing to retract my comments and hope for a happy conclusion.
Just got off the phone with Mr. Theune, telling me that if I would remove my messages from the complaint board first, then he would send my product. I haven't' received my parts in 5 years... 5 years ! He is a complete rip off ! His phone number is [protected] for all other people that have complaints.
GOOD LUCK ! He ignores emails and appears to be ignoring phone calls now.

I spent $ 76.00 for 2 bodies in Feb 2014. It is now a YEAR later and still nothing received. I talked to the owner twice on phone. Seems like nice guy, friendly, gives many excuses, and then makes it sound like product will be on its way soon. Even sends me email with building tips attached. Meanwhile SEVEN more months pass and NOTHING RECEIVED still.
I placed my order on November 16, 2014. I got the link from another aftermarket site, so I thought that it would be reliable. I never thought to check BBB or look for complaints. Of course I have not received my order, even though I have sent several emails asking for at least an update on my order. No response, of course. I guess that it is easy to advertise these hard to find parts, since he does not have to deliver them. After reading all of these comments, I am righteously pissed. I will see what I can do about this in my own way. I shall report on the results.

Brother I'm thrilled that "all is resolved " on your end. But, please, stop telling us how great RR is because IT IS NOT. He took my order through PayPal for $300 worth of parts. I tried BBB and they didn't do squat. I have a string of emails a mile long with excuses and outright lies, promises to get my stuff done and even an offer from me to settle for about 1/3 of the value I paid for. It's now 8 years and 6 months later and I never received anything but BS. Look around at how many have had this same treatment and lost money. I'm 67 and on disability so $300 is my entire year's hobby budget. He screwed me over intentionally; that's all there is to it.
Reliable Resin Is a scam ! I placed 2 separate orders 2 days apart in Jan of 2010 totaling $180 bucks ! I have talked to him several times on the phone and still comes up with every excuse under the sun why he hasn't made or shipped my parts. Don is a scam ! Do not buy anything from Reliable Resin ! As a United States Marine it pisses me off when other people do not do what is expected of them ! Especially when it comes to a company!

Hello all : ModelBuilder and Luv S&M Models, you must be the exceptions to the problem . I have heard / read more than enough complaints about Reliable Resin, from several different forums and message boards, enough in fact that I would never buy from them again, nor recommend them to anyone . I finally had to go through the Better Business Bureau, and sent them proof of my payment, copies of my receipts, and several e mails explaining the situation, before I got the parts I ordered . Unfortunately, when I did get the parts, the quality was not as advertised and were definitely NOT worth the wait ( even though ModelBuilder says they are ).
While this might not be a " scam " by definition, it comes across as such, because of how he treats people .
The fact that he constantly gives excuses of one kind or another for not delivering the product is NOT acceptable .
ModelBuilder, these sites serve a purpose, to get information out to people warning them about problems that may be encountered .
I myself only went on here as a last resort before contacting the BBB, in hopes that I might get my problem resolved .Didn't work .
Just so you know, I was in contact with Reliable resin many times while I waited, and that didn't help either .

I'll bet ModelBuilder is in fact Don Theune from Reliable Resin. I've been told by his friends that he uses several emails. Even the way this written sounds like Don. Buyers Beware this company will steal your money and give you all sorts of excuses.
Why don't you try emailing Reliable Resin directly ? If memory serves me they're located in the Philadelphia Metro area . I have relatives / friends who live near there and they don't have power due to Ice Storms. ( Watching the Weather Channel ) Just a suggestion

I collect SOX & Martin model cars, Dec. 15. I'm going to give the man time to make my order. (Dodge Omni). I paid with Money-Order. I sure hope things go well. Everyone has trouble at times, maybe he will get things going. Don't know anyone else that makes the Omni I'M

Had nothing but a positive experience with Reliable Resin, yes they have some situations, like any other cottage industry company I've bought from. I'd rather buy from them, then that crap sold on eBay. Reliable's resin items are indeed worth the wait. I find sites like this were folks can post "complaints" anonymously, is cowardly !
Cowardly is taking a customer's money, not providing anything they paid for, then ignoring their calls or legitimate request for refund.
On feb 2012 I ( two years) orderd some parts from this company ($91.00 ) and after many excuses and lies never did receive anything. This company is dedicated to steal money and then excepts you not do anything. Then he conditions the delivery of the order etc, etc.
Do not buy from this company just look up his feed back on Ebay it is ridiculous.
I too ordered parts from " Reliable Resin " -- 2 YEARS ago ( April 2011 ) . I have still not received any product . This is after numerous e- mails and several phone calls, each time with various reasons, many the same as mentioned above . I just want the parts I ordered, in order to build my models, but this is ridiculous .I will never be a repeat customer of this business . ( EVER)

Reliable Resin is a dreadful mistake for anyone desiring to purchase something from them. They will take your money and months and months later, you "might" receive some or part of your order. The excuses will come and run almost up to the "abducted by aliens" absurdity. Reliable Resin is anything but, run from this company!
