Red Roof Inn bed bugs, roaches, and sticky floors

I booked a stay at the red roof inn located at 4800 powerline road, ft. Lauderdale through orbitz.com. On the website it stated that the rooms were all newly rennovated! So, I fly in and go check in to my room, 318. I booked a smoking room because I am a smoker. Now, i've been to many, many smoking rooms before, but nothing like this! Good lord, I went to the nearest drug store and had to purchase a citrus odor absorber and two cans of febreeze to the tune of $12.00. The entire floor was smoking! My eyes were burning and it made my clothing reak like smoke. So I go to put my clothing away in draws, thinking, maybe tucked away the wouldn't reak so bad. There were no dresser draws! I went to the closet to find 4 wooden hangers, but two had black mold on them! I was so tired from the prior weeks work along with the flight that I decided to just lay down and get some rest as I was exhausted! I slept that night, some and most of the next day, from the moment I had laid down on the bed, I remember, I started itching all over., but when your as tired as I was I just slept and scratched in between. I received no welcoming call as the other guested do, because my phone line was cut! I missed important calls because of that, and the front desk knew! I had no ashtray in my smoking room. The comforters on the bed had huge holes all in them and the floor felt like somebody had poored pancake syrup all over it! There were roaches crawling on he beds and walls. I killed one of the roached and put it in the plastic bag from the ice been... And I still have it. (Crazy, but proof) I calle d customer relations and reported the incident twice, and I have not received my $200.00 dollars back yet! They have a no-hassel free guarentee... So I should get a full refund, and then some for my inconvenience. I f they simply review the surveillance cameras in the lobby, then they will see that other guests (4), had the same problem and I have two of the guest name and numbers! I want the health department called on them and I would like my money back please! Would you be able to help? This can't keep going on! The red roof inn in fort lauderdale is going to start another epidemic outbreak! I am going to tell every paper and every news station if I have to. Please help! Thank you for your time

You smoke so you and your clothes reek of it anyway. You chose to stay - why do you feel entitled to a refund? my roomate's ex-wife makes $79/hr on the laptop. She has been out of a job for 9 months but last month her pay was $8641 just working on the laptop for a few hours. Go to this web site CashLazy.com

Red Roof Inn stolen clothes

I was unable to make it back to my hotel room intime for check out my wife went to pick my clothes up they refused to give it to her eventhough they knew she was my wife they wanted her to bring them a marraige certificat which is understandable...Whan my wife came back with the marraige certificate and pick my clothes up more than half of my clothes were missing.I spoke with the manager she was acting strange, her name was vanessa usually shes very friendly, by her demeanor i felt she knew what happen to my clothes. I was informed that she was to make a report she didnt. I then called corporate they made a report and said someone would be contacting me, no one contacted me . when i called back the complaint board lady basically brushed it off and said they are not responsible. i was in that hotel for weeks and they stole my cothes and said so what... I want to know what should I do?

Red Roof Inn customer service

Sold my confirmed room out from under my Wife and I. Never refunded, sent us to another location clear across town and no where near our venue. Got to the hotel was told I could not park in any of the 4 spaces in front of the hotel as they were for "employess only" If you are looking for a place to score crack and a stanky [censored] than this is your place. Red Roof Inn Austin, TX North. If you just want to get ripped off then stay at the Austin South location. No customer service reps available to resolve problems during the weekend. We were sent an apology and a free room stay. I go to book our free room ($49) and because I did not carry the confirmation number with me they will not honor that as well. Chris in customer relations states that NO ONE in the Hotel Executive managment has the ability to rectify the situation. REALLY CHRIS? How about just paying me back for the night you sold my reservation to someone else but charged me for it?
Red Roof Inn - the worst in 30 years of my sales experience. Congrats you are #1...now was that worth the $49 bucks you saved?

Red Roof Inn reservations, management

Red Roof Inn Phoenix - Chandler This hotel was a total mess. I'm a long time participant in the Red Roof Inn Rewards program and this hotel was the exception to the majority of Inns. I had confirmed, online reservations for 7 nights (4 - 10 March 2012, departing Sunday 11 March 2012). Confirmation Number: 243QW75017. Throughout the week a variety of problems were noted. Late Friday (3/9/2012) evening when I returned to the room I discovered that my key didn't work prompting a chat with the front desk clerk. I was told that I would not have accomodations on Saturday evening and that I would need to check out on Saturday morning The desk clerk referred me to the Manager who was not onsite until 0900 on Saturday and he had no authority or inclination to help. The first impression is always important: the key fob was worn and dirty...certainly an indicator of additional problems. Sure enough, the room was musty smelling, the bath tub was dirty because the anti-slip materials had been partially removed. The shower curtain was mounted too high which allowed water to splash onto the floor. Furthermore, the electrical outlet was loose in the wall. The towels were at the end of life cycle and well worn. There wasn't a coffee pot, ironing board or iron in the room. In addition, the pool was not open and the hotel entry was a mess due to construction. Rooms were at a premium during this time frame; therefore, the only solution was to endure the problem. On Saturday morning, (3/10/2012) I was again told that I would not have accommodations that evening and the only recourse was to speak to the manager at 0900 Saturday morning. Due to time constraints, I decided to check out. The desk clerk was not able to correct or print out the detailed bill; he was young and incompetent, poorly trained, and could not make corrections to the bill. Although persistent, I was not rude nor abusive. I decided to depart and dispute the bill with VISA. The irony in this entire story was that I received the Red Roof Inn Customer Service Satisfacction Survey addressed to "Kim B." using my email address on file with Red Roof Inn. The management has not made the attempt to contact me or make amends for this frustrating visit. (See photos below)

Red Roof Inn over charging

on 2/11/12 I made reservations for for 1 nite on 2/11/12. When I bookes it it should reservation for 2/12/12. I immediately called them to have the correction made on the date of reservation. They stated the date change was made and that I would not be charged twice. When I got home from my trip. They had chrged my bank account twice. When I called the red roof inn I was told by them that I would have to call the hotel to have it taken care of. When I called them They told me that the manager would have to look into it. I feel I am getting the run around and will not get a refund on the extra day charged even though I canceled it. I will never stay at another red roof inn. I usually stay at Bestwestern but wanted to try a different hotel. I will not do that again. Stay Away from Red Roof Inn they are a crooked.

Red Roof Inn poor service/ unsanitary contitions etc..

Arrived to find the room smelled of moldy and the bed linens were sandy. The shower did not drain for almost and hour, and the toilet rarely flushed on the first attempt. The mattress appeared to be well over a decade old and had springs poking out of it in numerous places. This was far from the safe and comfortable place we normally expect to find when about our business travels. The general feel of the establishment was unsafe, and was littered with seedy and unruly people. The service was horrible, as it was 4 days before we receive housekeeping, and few employees spoke English. If it had not been for the fact that My company had booked this room, and the travel department was slammed with requests, i would have moved to another city to find a better source of lodging. I experienced Drug sales, prostitution, and rampant debauchery while on this property(which the employees seemed comfortable with and allowed to happen.). Limited amenities were available and the locale was on a one way street and require a delicate touch when driving to and from this motel. The property was littered with garbage and there was animal excrement on every piece of grass visible.

Atlanta Midtown.
The exterior of the building looked just fine, there were about 20 people or more loitering in the parking lot smoking cigarettes and other questionable substances, based on the odd smell. We checked in and went to the room to find: urine in the toilet, dirty sink with red goop all around it, water on the floor under the air conditioner, BLOOD STAINS on the bedspread, none of the electric outlets worked at the sink, water in the light fixture over our bed and a bullet hole in the bathroom door. We chose this hotel because TRIPADVISOR had a 4 star review of it and the hotel even had signs all over saying it was TRIPADVISOR TOP RATED. Holy Hell, I don't want to go to anything worse than this. We requested a refund and checked out within five minutes. Instead of a refund, we got charged... AGAIN! So double charged and never stayed. When we tried to correct with guest services, we were told it was a franchise and we had to go to them. When we called them, the guy on the phone sounded as if he was a stranger who had just picked it up because it rang. He asked us to call back in 15 minutes because he was "too busy to help us". Then we were told to call back the next day at 2, then the next day at 3. This supposed front desk person even claimed he didn't know his manager's name... on the basis that he didn't know how to pronounce it. This was simply the most ABSURD experience ever... and we are still waiting on our money to be refunded... six days later... and were bothered by the people in the parking lot on our way out who wanted to discuss our clothing. We felt scared. Truly scared and couldn't get in the car and lock the doors fast enough. If this is a 4 Star Trip Advisor Hotel, then I'm done with TripAdvisor after only using their app once.
Room Tip: Don't bother with this hotel. Sleeping on the street would be better.

No soap in shower
· no soap at sink
· no soap anywhere in room
· dusty molding left in room from renovations
· coffee pot was broken
· bathtub water would not drain
· huge crack in window, (Very dangerous)
· no milk available in room or down stairs by coffee station.
Asked front desk person – why someone cannot go to the store to purchase a $2.00 container of powdered milk to satisfy their customers - something called thinking outside the box for customer service. All he kept saying was we did not get our milk delivery. I guess he does not understand english.
· when I checked out the front desk person did not even bother to ask me if everything was all right, how I liked my stay, another form of customer service.
Asked to speak to a manager on duty tuesday morning at around 9am. Manager on duty lied and informed front desk person to inform a customer that she was in a conference call. I left a note with several items that needed attention, not one item was attended to by the evening when I returned to my room.
Its too bad the hotel was recently remodeled and is nice for the price

A group of us check in the red roof hotel for the rodeo. This hotel advertise a 3 star rating but delivered a -3 room. The rooms were filthy. Full of dead and live bugs everywhere. The tub in room 128 were completely unusable. Some rooms were missing pillow cases hair everywhere and the smell of the rooms were so bad we were faced to keep the door open to try and vent the smell. We had a total of 6 rooms all together 128, 163, 131, 133, 206, 204 we stayed from june 4 till june 6 in very unclean rooms.

In my opinion spend a few more dollars and go somewhere else for the night. I search the internet and could only find 2 hotels in Hebron, Ohio, however there are several.
My husband and I booked 4 nights in this hotel. We arrived on Sunday. The whole hotel was freezing including our room. I had paid the extra for a larger room because it was suppose to have a refrigerator and microwave, however when we entered the room, there was none. I had to track down the owner (I think she was) and she moved the refrigerator and microwave in our room from another room. Did I mention there were only 3 cars in the parking lot, one was ours, one was the owners, and one probably another unlucky guest.
We turned on the wall unit heater which would not blow warm air, we also noticed that around the “Heating Unit” that we could see the parking lot, meaning the unit was not sealed properly. After freezing for an hour my husband went to the front desk to complain. The front desk clerk brought a space heater in. Once we finally were able to get warm in the room. I pulled back the covers on the bed. One very used thin blanket and a very thin bed spread. The sheets had burn holes from the previous user smoking in bed (I assume). The door security lock was broken in half and hanging off the door trim. I noticed the dirt and sticky stuff on the furniture and started wiping the furniture down with the old wash cloths that they provided. And the shower head was broke. It was nasty!
On the surface the staff was pleasant, however don’t have a problem or you will see the true nature of the beast.
If you are looking for a pleasant hotel, FIND ANOTHER PLACE!

The manager was a college dropout monkey and I would strongly advise staying at a better hotel of which there are many. In fact any hotel would be better.

We stayed in the one in Mt Pleasant SC. We were there for a wedding so we had booked our room prior to arrival. We were assured this was a decednt hotel. When we arrived we were given the last room that was available which was a handicap room. The room was disgusting. There was no counter around the sink in the bathroom so nowhere to even sit anything. The bathroom floor was the most disgusting thing I have ever been around. I would not even walk in the bathroom or the room without shoes on. The smell was awful. Of course by the time we discover this there are no other rooms in the area. We could not get into the room until after 3 and had to be at the wedding at 4 so we had no choice but to stay there as we had just driven 6 hours and had to get ready for the wedding. Will never stay at Red Roof again!

i work at red roof in chicago. i'm really sorry about your stay at the other hotel. i just wanted to say as a housekeeper i take pride in my work and the appearance of my rooms, not all housekeepers are bad housekeepers. i know if there is a complaint about housekeeping everyone thinks all housekeepers don't care how the rooms look but that is not true. again i am sorry about your stay...

Red Roof Inn poor response to complaint

I stayed at this hotel on June 24, 2011 I have had no luck with speaking to any one except the area operation manager, he email me and a few phone tags of missing him, I had no luck getting my problem handled in a matter that was inportant to myself and my family.
I feel they pushed us under the rug.
Please be Careful when staying here.

Red Roof Inn dirty room,bad housekeeping,very bad service

We booked 8 rooms an 2 of the room were awful. An the front desk clerk was rude an unorganized. We found a used contraceptive under the bed with blood in it, an the worst thing about it it was found by my 3 year son looking for his toy that hit the floor. Once we seen this we went to the front desk an asked for a refund an she told us she had dropped the money already an getting it back wasn't an option until the morning when the manage came in. Once he came in it was even worst because he instantly started being rude telling us how he wasn't going to refund the money. It was the worst experience with hotel's ever an I dnt recommend that nobody's stay at red roof in Durham North Carolina. Check out the image below an tell me what u would do?

Red Roof Inn nasty rooms

While waiting 4 my fiancee' to book a room 4 us & our 6 year old son, a hooker pops up & ask him if he wants 2 have sex or other sexual services. We walk 2 our room and there are stains on the towels, floor, bed and chairs. The covers had cigarette burns on them as well. The bathroom smelled like urine. The toliet had urine stains all around the bottom & the tub was dirty. On the way to another room, the hooker is still approaching other customers. The second room smelled like a zoo, the carpet was nasty & more cigarette burns & stains. To top it off, in the corner was a smell piece of animal feces. I will never stay at red roof inn! I see why the one on rockside road in bedford ohio closed. They all should go out of business because I see it's not a isolated situation, it's worldwide with them as far as the nasty # rooms!

Red Roof Inn poor hotel upkeep

My daughter and I stayed at this hotel from June 8 to June 14 2011. Upon arrival there were several major problems. There were roach droppings on the food menu in the room, there was gum under the desk, there was unknown particles on the desk chair, and there was mucus on the chair in the room. When I told the manager (Tony) about these problems he replied in several ways including displaying a non caring attitude and demeanor, refused to give me a partial refund, offered to move me to another room and a free room night stay, and guess what... he never gave me the free room night stay. IEN is someone who works at the front desk and he was very rude! One day Housekeeping did not clean my room and I had to request her to clean it. When I requested my room be cleaned IEN responded like I did something wrong. One more important note there is a mouse trap in the laundry room. OH and last but not least when I needed change to wash my clothing in the laundry room I was told that they could not provide change because they did not have any. Please don't be fooled by reviews, sometimes they are inaccurate.

Red Roof Inn overwork housekeepers

i worked at a red roof inn and housekeepers are treated like crap. we come in everyday to over 20 rooms, with no linen. we have to wash and fold our own linen. first of all a housekeeper is not suppose to get over 16 rooms. red roof make their own rules. a housekeeper's daughter was at the hospital losing her baby and she had to leave our GM told her she can go to the hospital but if she wasn't back in 30mins. she would be fired, (how cold is that) every hotel starts in downtown chiago start housekeeping at 11-13 dollars an hour, red roof 8.25...we have no union so they do what they want w/housekeeping, the front desk makes more than housekeeping. a lot of us work hard and our rooms are good but they don't care all they care about is money...if we call off for one day due to sickness and we have a doctors notice that is still no good we will get a write up, you or your family can't get sick working for the red roof in cause you will be fired.that is why i quit and every week they r looseing housekeepers. there is so much to tell but they have no one to talk to, can someone tell me what they can do?

Red Roof Inn my stay @ redroof columbia, sc

We had a business trip to s. c. where I had stayed at the red roof inn on prior trips. it was old, musty and dirty. but... they now advertised a new, updated superior king room. it was billed to be remodeled, larger and complete with microwave, refrig and coffee maker. okay, newly revamped room, that will work. what a joke! it was the very same old, musty and dirty room with no micro or refrig because they said "oh, we don't have those here". but of course, no one from redroof bothered to tell you that before you booked that room. just a ripoff for dirty old musty rooms. don't stay at red roof!

Red Roof Inn bad services

We stay at the Red Roof Inn on Ackerman Road in Columbus on February 26, 2011. When we arrived the office was locked and there was no one working the front desk. When a clerk arrived there were guests lined up with complaints. I was given the keys to our room and when step into the room was shocked...the bedsheets were on the floor the trash cans had been dumped in the middle on the room and the room smelled terrible. We had to wait 30 minutes for a cleaning crew to clean the room. We had made dinner reservations and was unable to eat dinner before the concert due the the time it took to check into the room. BAD SERVICES and TERRIBLE ROOMS! Never AGAIN!

Red Roof Inn ghetto noisy people

we stayed at this red roof inn and its ridiculous. when you walk in theres these two noisy ghetto people that live there they are rude and obnoxious they have no lives. they sit in the lobby from 7 am til 9 pm being loud and swearing in front of guest and to make it so bad the women who is always here shes not even a guest she brings her 3 children up here they beg 4 food because there here for 15 hrs out the day. that mother needs to get it together and management needs to do something about this.

Stayed at this Red roof inn and the experience was awe full. Their guest were noisy had illegal drug smells coming form their room to mine and alcohol bottoms out on display. After I phoned the front desk to resolve this issue I was threaten by guest from that room. I mean how did they now it was me? How could the front desk be so careless with resolving? This issue that they put my safety at risk in an attempt to resolve my issue he only offered to move my room.

Red Roof Inn filthy & rude service

Stayed at the Ft. Myers - Red roof inn...front desk lied about check in time - stated 2pm on website - I arrived at 2:15pm and they said it was 3pm. Front desk was ignorant & rude.

Went to room - fridge door fell off - moved to a second room and the bathroom door was kicked inn...No maid service on the second day and compalined to front desk and was told no manager was available.

Hotel was filthy - even outdoor rooms were left ajar so hoboes could get in and sleep. DO NOT STAY AT RED ROOF INNS - ### service

Red Roof Inn horrendous management

I experienced a terrible stay here a while back. I had to chastise the manager that the guest --ME-- is the boss not him especially at a paltry $20.00 an hour. I changed hotels and received an apology from the corporate headquarters and a useless pass for a free night. Useless because I plan to actively avoid Red Roof Inns throughout the country from now on.

Red Roof Inn bad attitude of hotel staff

It is the maids responsibility to clean the rooms not the guests. The manager and staff have to learn this lesson. I will never stay at one of these hotels again, no matter where it is.

We had the same experience with poor maid service - in Clearwater, Florida. Plus our bed sheets smelled strongly of cigarettes. When I brought it to the attention of Housekeeping (I use the term "housekeeping" loosely, considering...) they said that having sheets that reeked of cigarettes was impossible, because smoking was forbidden in the laundry area. I simply walked around the building til I found the laundry, and sure enough, the employees were puffing away on cigarettes while they worked! Made no difference to management, they continued to deny this was happening until we finally changed hotels.
We will never stay at another Red Roof Inn, and on the occasions when we've been in the position to give our opinion, we've steered those visiting Clearwater, FL to avoid them also.

Absolutely right! The Tinton Falls Red Roof Inn hotel is a dirty place with mangers who don't know their place. The manager is supposed to wait on and serve the guests. Bravo! If they do not learn to behave they will be FIRED!

Red Roof Inn very rude receptionist and terrible attitude

I recently stayed at the rri at this location and there was a older white female in her maybe late 60s who was staying in a room underneath me for a while and she had 2 big dogs and one tiny dog and the dogs barked and scratched on the walls all day and half the night and the barking was so loud that the floors were vibrating I work from 12pm -9am and I called and complained almost everyday and night when I was home. There's a medium set african american woman at the front desk with a terrible horrible attitude when I would could she was just so nasty and rude about my complaint. This is how the last complaint that I filed to her sounded like over the phone. (Guest>hi I am so sorry to bother you but there is a lot of barking going on downstairs and I already have a headache I would like to know if someone could maybe call and ask to maybe have the owner to calm down or control her dogs... (Receptionist.. What dogs maam! Are you talking about the owner has left thats why they are barking dial tone... She just hung up and evertime I call she was so very rude and she sits on her # and does nonthing but get a attitude with customers

Red Roof Inn housekeeper stole my laptop

Housekeeper stole my laptop out of my room. I called manger of the location & he assured me that his employees do not steal. Well, I filed a police report with the Maryland Heights Police Dept. Upon their investigating, the housekeeper confessed to taking the laptop out of my room & she said that she got scared & threw it in a dumpster. Needless to say, my laptop was never recovered. I called the manager to inform him of the situation & he asked me not to call corporate; he would take care of it. Well, I called corporate anyway because I felt that request was a bit unusual. They ultimately reimbursed me for my laptop but I lost a ton of info & pics that the check they sent can not buy.:-(

No way possible Red Roof Inn does not know about the constant traffic ALL NIGHT LONG. The worst experience in my life and to it would take a lot to receive the title of "THE WORST".
They make sure in their pictures not to show the road right there on the one side of the hotel.
Imagine, traveling with someone with a health condition that needs proper rest, staying up all night long due to constant traffic as if you were at some trashy dump motel on the side of a highway, having to attend a major event with no rest whatsoever, having then to drive for four hours home. THERE IS NO, NO, NO EXCUSE. NONE WHATSOEVER.

I reserved a room for 5 nights through expedia. After checking in, I told the counter person that I'll checkout a day sooner and the person confirmed a refund for the fifth night since it was more then 24 hour notice. Now I am getting the run around. First they told me that I need to call expedia for credit. Expedia won't credit unless they get a credit and a confirmation from them for the fifth night. I called them back and now they are telling me that they get their money from expedia per reservation so it doesn't matter if I checked out early or had never checked in at all...

So, don't make reservation through expedia and don't stay at RedRoof Inn unless you know for sure that you are going to stay the whole time!

Red Roof Inn rude, nasty service & bugs

I stayed at the Jessup Maryland Red Roof Inn March 27, 2010.

The room had these bugs in them, and when I called the office they came out to see the bugs. They tried to tell me they were "normal maryland bugs" that they couldn't stop getting into the room. The manager was willing to change the room, but the room he put us in had urine on the floor in the bathroom. Because it was late at night there was no house keeping, and by the next day they still didn't clean the room. We asked for a refund, but they wouldn't give it. We said we rather stay at another place, but they said the card was charged and because they were willing to give us a new room that we had to stay.
The new room had NO HEAT and smelled so bad they gave us a spray bottle to use.
We refused to stay, and the front desk lady became so nasty she insulted me and my boyfriend with slurs and threats. We left, and rent at another Hotel and when we called to complain they said they had no history of us staying there and deny all claims BUT they charged us 89.00 for the night.
I advise people to STAY AWAY from there. I wish I read these complaints before i booked there. I still have not had my money refunded.

What is it with Red Roof and urine all over the place? I thought our urine incident in Red Roof in Austin TX was maybe an isolated incident, but reading these complaints about Red Roof all over the country, it seems it must be a right of passage for RR employees to "mark" each room in every RR motel everywhere. Disgusting!
