Re-Bath non-responsive

In early Feb. 2011, I visited two Re-bath showroom locations in San Carlos, CA. Both were closed with the Old County Road location closing about two weeks prior, per the business next door. No forwarding addresses.
A few Phone calls to two numbers in San Carlos, and one in Tempe, AZ have gone non-returned. The franchise in Hayward, CA was very guarded in replying to my inquires. I am simply t rying to purchase a tube of their shower caulk because my caulk failed soon after warranty. Hayward would not sell me a tube of their caulk. I had recaulked a ten inch seam myself, but it is a darker (DAP or Ace) white than that used by Re-Bath.

I have been pursuing this since Nov. 2010. Other than that I am very satisfied with my 3-year old Re-Bath shower.

I suggest any new customer look into the future longevity of their local Franchise; or re-bath's their warranty means nothing.

Re-Bath Joke service

I had a caulk problem and water is sitting between tub and tub liner. I have been calling rebath for 2 months and a guy with a rebath franchise nearby has of yet not come out. I have called him repeatedly and still have plastic covering my bath tub and a hole in my kitchen ceiling where the water came through from the tub on the second floor. If I would have known the service was so poor I never would have gone with them.

The guy who installed my liner and wall went belly up.

The franchiser is responsible for acts of the franchisee. Take them to small claims. They are registered with the secretary of stare in your state

Re-Bath Waste of time & money

Looking for a full bathroom remodel, I found rebath in the phone book. When I called asking what services they provided, they stated their specialty was bathroom remodels and that they did everything from the doorway through. When what I thought was a contractor came to the home, I showed him the work I wanted done and also showed the downstairs bathroom as I had water leaking from upstairs to down and would eventually want some repairs done in the water-damaged downstairs as well. I was surprised when the gentleman took out a large book and pamphlets consisting only of bathroom and tub replacements, especially since I had told him I'd like to keep the tub we have.

It was apparent pretty quickly that this was a sales schtick for some special magical tubs (I'm assuming they're magical or something, otherwise no one could ever justify those prices) and after wasting a good 45 minutes listening to him blather on about tubs, he scribbled some numbers down and came up with $4000+ dollars for a tub area replacement only!--and that was the less expensive model! I asked what about the floor, the vanity, etc. and he said all our problems were related to the tub (?) and that rebath doesn't usually "deal with" that other stuff, just the bath.

WTH? I wouldn't have called this dude in if I didn't want a FULL BATHROOM REMODEL. Then he went with the old "ten percent discount if you sign a contract now" (said that's the way the boss wants it, so he has to do what the boss says) and I said thanks, but no thanks. He kept trying to make concessions like agreeing to take $50 more off here, throwing in a demo of the vanity and tile we wanted replaced, etc. After I kept saying no he then checked his date book and said he just saw (this was kind of comical) that he could extend the discount for the month if we decided to sign. I asked for any kind of workup for the estimate and he scribbled some numbers on a looseleaf paper and gave them to me. Laughable!

Re-Bath Unpaid Debt

Rebath of Central Florida, owned by Richard Sasto, sold to another individual in a asset sale only. Richard Sasto, franchise owner of Rebath of Central Florida, walked away from paying his companies debts after the sale.
Thousands of Dollars in materials purchased and supplied to customers homes was never paid for. Richard Sasto owns another Rebath Franchise in Long Island, New York. People should be made aware that He may not pay for materials in New York and customers could have liens placed on there homes by suppliers and workers. Rebath of Central Florida, stiffed one of his former employees with default judgement in the amound of $18, 500.00 plus court cost, and attorney fees. The employee was kind enough to sign a credit application for Richard Sasto, since Richard Sasto was a absentee owner. The debt is due to Scripps Publication, parent company for Florida Today Newspaper. Richard Sasto took the profit from the sale of the Rebath of Central Florida sale and skipped out on this debt and thousands of dollars more. Rebath has a very bad reputation of doing this type of thing ikt is all over the internet. And there installations are of poor quality.
Again you can see it all over the internet. This guy Richard Sasto still qualifies Rebath of Mid Florida with his Master Plumbing license and the person harmed by the debt is seeking that the State of Florida revoke Richard Sastos Master Plumbing License in the State of Florida. Rebath Corporate knows of this debt problem and states, ITS NOT OUR PROBLEM.
Yet Richard Sasto is a Rebath Franchise Holder still in Long Island New York.
Richard Sasto should be made to pay off this debt or have his New York franchise taken away. What kind of Franchise owners are you allowing Dave Sanders? Force Richard Sasto to pay the debt.

Re-Bath Caused water leak. Refused to fix

[protected] installed a new tub/shower kit appx. 2 months ago. The tub was way too small and then to make matters worse I had a major water leak that they caused(I never had the leak before they did their work) has damaged my trim and has caused numerous near slips and falls. They refuse to fix the water leak and/or replace the miniature tub they put in. They refuse to return my phone calls, forcing me to call time and time again. I had a plumber come in and find where Rebath caused the leak, yet Scott Carr and Eric from the rebath Decatur office refuse to admit any wrongdoing. Rebath's add says don't settle for less, well that's what you will do if you hire Rebath...You will settle for less with Rebath. do not fall into the same trap as I did. Do it yourself or hire a local honest person you know. Rebath is a ripoff!

Rebath of Central Florida franchise owned by Richard Sasto
was sold and is Now Rebath of mid Florida. They are in the same building
using same vehicles, and trailers. Richard Sasto never paid all his bills in Orlando, He even is responsible for a default judgement against one of his former employees that signed a advertising agreemmet for him in his absence. The employee now has a judgement against him for $19, 000.00.
other companies and suppliers were never paid for there products sold to Rebath of Central Florida, and Richard Sasto to the tune
of about $25, 000.00 and the shame of it all is that Richard Sasto still
owns a Rebath franchise in New York. Don't deal with Rebath
or Richard Sasto. Not an Honest Guy!

Re-Bath Took my Money! Closed Company!

My wife and myself saw Rebath at a consumer shower and we got an estimate a week later. They wrote a contract for $4500 and we wrote a check for half. We have tried calling them and went to the address on the contract. Poof ! Our money and Rebath is gone. I talk to the business next door and she told me that they had closed a week before the consumer show. What nerve! We have called the police and they said it was a civil manner. These Rebath people are theives!

This is nothing new! A lot of Rebath stores closed this year. We had the same problem but I would suggest going to the DA and filing a complaint. If they took your money and then just closed you can go after them with a criminal complaint which will get you your money in a couple of days. This Lisa person is just in charge of "I will look into it." department.

Re-Bath Took my money, started a job, did not complete, then vanished

Do not use Re-Bath.

I compared Re-Bath to Bathfitters at the Vancouver B.C. Home Show and went with Re-Bath as the franchisee promised an earlier completion date.

As per his invoice 09-05, December 11, 2009, which I've paid in full, in fact overpaid on the tax by his error, for work done December 11, that work has yet to be completed and is needing SILICONING and FAUCETS as per the invoice. The franchisee has vanished off the face of the earth, with all numbers defunct, and unresponsive to mail.

That's very very wrong, and no way to run any business.

Do not use Re-Bath.

Re-Bath website is filled with virus

I got a flier a few months ago and decided to check them out. I went to their website and got a virus. I had to take my computer to Best Buy to fix it. I called Jim Heath and he doesn't take calls. The man who ansewered the telphone said they knew about the probelm. Why do they still have the website up? Why not fix it, rather then give me virus. I just called someone else to do the work.

Their salemen are rude. My husband could not make the appointment and he refused to give me an estimate unless he was home. We have just been married for four years and I have owned this house for over twenty years and my husband does not own it I do. Bathfitter took my money and did a good job. It must have been fate that Rebath refused.

Re-Bath &Lifetime& warranty is garbage!

Their supposed "lifetime" warranty is garbage! I got liners installed in 2001. One of them has been pulling away from the tub and looks horrible. I have trying since June to get this liner replaced (Once I finally got one of their service guys to actually see the liner he said immediately, "The liner needs to be replaced!").

It's been one excuse after another as to why my LIFETIME warranty suddenly isn't valid. First they claimed I never paid the remaining $200 balance back in 2001! Faxed proof to corporate office when local franchise was unresponsive and then radio silence from them as well.

Second, they claimed they gave me a 5-year-warranty back in 2001! Um, wrong again. I had a copy of the actual LIFETIME warranty that I also faxed and mailed over to the local franchise.

I have recently filed complaints with both the BBB and Attorney General's office. DO NOT do business with this company, unless you want to be stuck with a rotting, useless liner in a few years.

And here's the kicker: This company is STILL advertising a lifetime warranty they refuse to honor!

Re-Bath Service is horrible

This company will try and over charge for there services. And is very close to going bankrupt. In these economic times be very careful who you deal with.
You know its funny how something so small some time ago, will cost you 1000 times more later on.

Re-Bath Bait and Switch

About two months ago these people came to my house and showed me and my wife some samples of material that they were going to install on my bathtub. So yesterday they install this stuff and it is nothing like they said it would be. I thought I was getting walls that were a quarter of an inch thick and they install so junk that is as thin as paper. If you look at it you can see all these scratches in it. And there are places that they didnt properly seal it like they said they were.
But wait, the plumbing valve doesnt even operate in the right direction.

I paid over $5200 for this stuff and it is something that you wont even find in a cheap hotel. I called the salesman and now it is like I dont even know you and you must have talked to someone else. I have his business card!

We feel that we have been taken advantage.

Re-Bath - bad salesman

I had these poeple out to give us an estimate. Before they would come they insisted that both me and the wife needed to be there. I was about 15 minutes late and the salesman just went off on my wife. This was the first bad sign. I got there and he spent two hours trying to convince me to spend $5000 on a cheap plastic wall covering for my shower. I dont...
