I, too, spent about $200 on this outdated VHS tape. Just by the appearace of the clothes worn by people in the tape clearly indicate the decade prior. The promises on the website and mailers say everything is updated. There is no contact info to make a complaint or refund... NOR is Paul Larisey currently licensed in CA! Friends, feel free to look him up under the ca.dre.gov website. His license has been expired since the early 1990's.
Needless to say, I didn't pass my exam...
Although I am not completely blaming the company for that... or should I. Laws and regulations change constantly in real estate, reviewing info more that 10 years old is worse that not reviewing it at all. Now I must unlearn the outdated, incorrect information before retaking the exam...that is if and after I identify them.
I hope this helps someone out there. Too bad I did my research after my check was cashed!

Question for those of you who have used it to pass the Broker exam. I used the dvd and passed my salesperson exam first time, wondering now if I need to buy it again for the broker exam or is it the same dvd? Anyone? Thanks
$111 down the drain...Audio file made in 1994; the DVDs have to be pushing 8/9 years old, easy...i got a 66%, STUDYING MY ### OFF for DAYS, inclusive of this WWW.SUPEREXAMCRAM.COM waste of time, $111 to purchase, and $7 to return it in attempt to get refund. My 150 questions were NOT covered in ANY of the materials...not even CLOSE. Not even the same verbiage/format. My First Tuesday school materials were FAR more helpful. The practice tests were COMICAL, material far from pertinent. Multiple RE colleagues of mine are steering me elsewhere; they have passed using A COMPETITOR, and I am headed THAT WAY instead. Praying to get my refund, but I doubt it will happen.

That is a different school and your NEGATIVE REVIEW HERE is therefore not fair. How, about seeing if you can get your comment removed. And for your information, the ONLY negative reviews on this Complaints Board & scam reports which has copies forwarded is apparently BOGUS attempts by our competition to try and get SOME business. We're the largest for over 24 years and you can't stay in business that long in a small "word of mouth" business like Real Estate Education Prep without having done a good job. MOST of our business comes from recommendations of our Broker's who used us to pass their exams. And you can't beat that. This Course is a joke everything on the DVD is outdated and some material is even outright wrong. In fact I will send anyone a copy if they would like just pay for the shipping they are crooks text me [protected]. There is an update which is some poorly printed paperwork with newer questions it is terrible quality. There was an option to download the material for only 20 or so dollars but they removed it because all they care to do is exploit people and make money PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS SYSTEM. I will be filing a complaint with the California DRE the BBB and will be posting to [redacted]. They should be stopped. I bought another system plus a live cram session for the price of this TERRIBLE SYSTEM.
Real Estate Excellence video gives you the knowledge of BASIC Real Estate Law and legal terms which will never be outdated. I PASSED the CA real estate test one the first try in 2004 using this video and my friends and family passed using the REAL ESTATE EXCELLENCE video 2009, 2010, 2012.and now 2014.
What is wrong with this site? I just spent half an hour typing my experience with http://superexamcram.com/ and how great they were. I really don't want to do it again a third time.
Here's the short version. After being scammed by realestateexcellence, I went to super exam cram, or the California school of Real Estate...Same people. THEY ARE AWSOME. I had three days to go before my exam. The Lady there told me what to concentrate on in the materials supplied. (there was a lot) She was right and I nailed it. I PASSED. I can rember while taking my exam...oh, they covered this...I remember this... oooh, I know what to do here...wow...I just might pass this thing!
They really know how to teach you how to pass the test.

I was dissapointed after figuring I must reschedule my exam (see my post above) I did some more shopping online and came across this place: http://superexamcram.com/ These folks are what I was hoping for, in the first place. I chose them for a couple of reasons- One was the preview video on the website and the other was the cool lady that answered the phone there. I told her my predicament (I had about 3 or 4 Days to study) and because they were in Castro Valley, just a few miles from me- I could even come over and pick up the course in person if I wanted. I opted for fedex overnight. I had the weekend to study and my test was on tuesday.
When I got the material, I thought, oh wow...so much to study. I called the cool lady back and asked her, "seriously, should I just rescedule?" She reminded me that to reschedule costs about the same as if I had to retake the test after failing. I told her I only had Three days to study and asked what should I concentrate on? She suggested the DVD videos and the "lightening reviews".
Let me tell you, the folks at superexamcram really know their stuff. Not just rehashing the State course material...in fact, there was very little of that. They know how to teach you testing techniques that will really suprise you. I am absolutely certain that I passed the test because of that course. Hat's off to Joe and his Daughter (the cool lady) I meant to call and thank her for her advise. They really know their stuff. I can't remember if I ever made that call- so just to be safe I will do it tomorrow.

I took the exam with this material in 1997. Looking at the material on the web site and the examples it appears to be the exact same video. It did work for me at that time and I completed the exam in about 40 minutes. My wife also took the exam in about 2003 using this course and had the same results. I am going to take the brokers exam and was thinking this might be the way to go until I read all the comments. Does anyone have suggestions on what to take as an alternative. I do not want to waste time and have to retake an exam. We are up in Northern California which makes some of the live crash courses almost impossible.

I am really upset. I just ordered this and have gotten about a day and a half thru it when I started thinking, un, oh... What a complete ripoff this is. The outdated DVD is one thing, but the updates are a joke! 15+ pages of low quality fine print. Clearly, if the updates are current (which I doubt) this is the bulk of the program. Low quality, fine print (barely legible) photocopyies. Time for a charge back and now I must reschedule my exam.

Do you guys realize the whole business changed in 2009 with the Safe Act NMLS and this information is completely outdated? This guy hasn't had his license since 1990 22 years ago lol! You are now required to take 20 hours of study through live or webinar that will teach you what you need to know and help you study for the exam and its hands on. This is a waste of your money on outdated information when you have to pay for your study class anyway that will be hands on up to date information to actually help you pass the Current 2012 test. Don't let this old guy scam anyone else including yourself. I came here because I friend of mine mother got scammed into buying this through the phone and hadn't had the chance to even see the website or see how outdated it was, so clearly he is getting people through the web and telemarketing aspects to where they have no idea what they are buying. Do your research and protect yourselves against this kind of scamming B.S... This guy better get ready for some legal action as I see he has a lot of people really upset and clearly been happening for over 20+ years smh...
I bought the program in 2003, followed it to the letter and passed the first time; i was one of hte first feww people done in fact. It takes HOURS and DAYS to study, do it right, and take the exams. The program is in fact outdated looking, cheesy to say the least. BUt it worked for sure. Watch the video 7.5 hours; and I did that several times. Do all of the other recommendations. The people complaining probably thought this program would do the work for them - typical lazy assess. Sorry guys its not like the agents exam, and i know you dont want to study in college for a real degree, so if you want to be a broker and fiduciary of the people in that state of California you're gonna have to put some effort into it. My experience is from 2003, however, real estate concepts are teh same, always have, and always will.
I took and passed the exam today. I followed the instructions by watching it completely through and then the 2 hour flash review each night. I also watched it twice on the day before my exam, just to make sure. Also, review the updates. There are a couple of things not covered in the materials that were on the test, however, not enough for you to miss 45 questions to fail. I was done in < 1 hour and the most questions and answers were verbatum from the tape.
Lastly, I only had 3 math problems on the entire test. Just know simple interest, how many sq. foot in an acre and a little about townships and you are good to go.
oh ok well I change the date of my exam for later on I dont feel like Im ready but thanks any ways...

my exam is in 3 days and i think i am not ready so i will maybe change my exam for a nother day, have a book with me all day and hear a cd all day to but dont feel that great... also took a small practice exam on line and did 70% so i dont think i be able to pass i know i can go and take it again if i dont but i need to pass on the first time that will help me with all my fears... any ways i have order a lot of differnt stuff to help me pass the exam and i have about a year with all this dont know if i shud buy more and keep doing this and keep changing the day i want to do good and feel like i pass it when i exit the room and so far dont feel like that yet...thanks
hey do you work for real estate excellence? are you a sales person from there? if you are maybe you can help why do we lease the dvd whats the point of that and is the stuff in the dvd current that will help pass the exam if you do work for them and maybe can help me order the product by explaining a bit more of it! thanks
It doesn't matter how old the pictures look. The concepts remain the same. Get it. Follow the instructions and you will pass.

I used this tape for my salesperson exam and my broker exam. I passed both times - not even spending the amount of time they suggested. In fact, I nailed the exams so much so that I walked out of the room first both times. If you follow their directions, I can't see how you could fail. This course is a no-brainer.
I got the advertisement DVD in the mail, a bit confused. I like the memory tips it shows in the clips, but all people and background are definitely 20+ years ago. It says it's updated material, but not sure it would really help for my exam in 28 days.

I passeed the real estate exam on first try using the VHS tape and my family member has too.
I ordered the DVD of Real Estate Excellence for brokers exam. Same one came as for agents. Material from 1990s. I took the exam 3 times and couldn't pass. The material is too far outdated. Save money don't get it. I finally went to a Real Estate trainers 2 day crash course and passed. I went to return the DVD I "Rented" from Real Estate Excellence and it came back. Bogus Address.$5.21 in shipping fees wasted. Hours of time. Don't get ripped off!

I bought and followed the tape to the letter...I had not studied up until one week before my exam because I was so bored with other study aids...I passed the first time. About two years later (I didn't use my license nor take the necessary classes and let it lapse) I again bought the tape and studied it like the first time...I passed again. My sister failed the test the first time...told her about it and she she studied about 1-1/2 weeks prior to the test...she passed it. I worked with a gal who failed three times! I told her about it and she got the tape...she passed the exam. All I can say is that it's cheesy when you watch it (that's the whole idea - so that you remember what you're learning - visually)...I swear it works! Hope this helps...V
I purchased the tape, didn't follow directions, flunked the first time.
Followed directions to the letter, Passed the second time.
Reccommended the tape to my best friend, who followed the directions, he passed thre first time.
THE TAPE WORKS IF YOU FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS!

I used RE Excellence (DVD was dated) recently and I passed on my first attempt. I spent time reviewing the DVD and handwritten materials over and over again. It was better than all those sample tests that give you several wrong answers.
I used RE Excellence (the footage is clearly dated but the material is all current so who cares?) and I used their dvd/updated notes EXACTLY the way they said to, and I passed my exam on the first try.
3 Years ago, I watched the video and followed their instructions exactly and I passed the exam. I took the exam 3 times, my first 2 I DID NOT use the video, on the 3rd time I decided to try it and it worked. My 2 cousins and my husband also passed using the video. If you use it correctly, it will work.
