Real Canadian Superstore crazy

Dear Sir/Madam
The cashier at this Super Store was crazy. She load and rude. We got our food through and she said where is your free gift because the bill came up to 371.11. Genaro Castaneda paid by Visa and we have a store card. Genaro said what free gift don't we get a gift card. This is when she went off the deep end. Her voice got load no you don't get a gift card. I need you to go get the coupon and you should have had it before you came to here. Genaro went and got the coupon and came back. She yelled at him where is the free gift. He said that she should calm down and stop stressing. That is when I sent our daughter to go get the item. Our daughter came back without the item, she went to the wrong area. The cashier then started to yell. What's wrong you can't see it. I can see it it's right there and she is pointing. That is when I said show me what your talking about. She put the coupon in my face and said see and took it away. I didn't see it she took it away to fast. I said to Genaro forget it and looked straight at her and said give us our money we don't want the to take the food now. She turned her back on me and said what so hard in getting the free gift. Our daughter said back to her maybe if you would have given better directions and be clear in what your saying. There are people in the line up they were staring at her and listening to her go off the deep end. We were so embarrassed everyone in the line up was watching use. I made a complaint at the store but it didn't look like they were going to do anything. The person at the customer complaint desk and floor manager said oh that is not like her to be like that. I said I want something done. My family and I spend a great deal of money at the super store from $300 to $700 once a month and holidays more. We were loyal customers. We did all our shopping there it was convenient and good products. We will waiting to hear from you.

Real Canadian Superstore false advertising

I do not normally complain but of late this has been driving me nuts. Have you ever noticed that when a product that is always carried at the Real Canadian Super Store goes on sale at a competitors that the Superstore miraculously has none in stock so as to avoid price matching? I had not really noticed it that much until this year when i went in a couple of months back looking for 3 specific items that were on sale elsewhere only to find that they were "out of stock" on all 3 items. Now the items were not uncommon items, in fact, one of the items was Kraft macaroni and cheese. I have 3 kids and it is good for school lunches and so we buy by the case (the item on sale). Not only did the Superstore not have the cases that week but they would not allow me to purchase 12 individual boxes at the matched case price. Ridiculous! Now this week was a little different. In the cereal isle they had a Kellog promotion coupon where if you buy 3 boxes of Mini Wheats for $4.95 each you would receive a bag of Neilson's milk for free. Well they did have both the products this time however they had put the cereal (regularly $4.95/box) on sale thus disqualifying it from the Kellog’s promotion. At the checkout I was amazed when the cashier said that I could not get the free milk. I argued with them and the store manager as to how one would be able to get the milk without the "right" product on the shelf. They did not have an answer (surprise) and then I asked what would Kellog's think of you sabotaging their promotion. Again, you guessed it - no comment. In the end, it looks like I am switching grocers.

Don't worry, Wal-Mart will match and beat all, if not all, very soon, they are becoming too tough to compete with. Superstore sucks in Lethbridge, low class talent and you have to bag your own stuff.

Sobey's is good for service and their buddy Safeway. I hate that the American stores are offering the better/kinder service but it is true! I wish Canadian Tire would hire polite people over Home Depot...because I am one for keeping the Canadian dollar in Canada but then again the American stores do hire us Canadians, but there is more to this subject that can run in circles but ...

Real Canadian Superstore misbehaviour

Today I went to buy a barbecue from the super store at sunridge Calgary mall but due to highly irresponsible, intolerable and rude attitude of the the manager and the related warehouse department my head is still spinning and I never felt so irritated and insulted throughout my life as I did today due to the manager and the related department attitude. they kept me waiting for half an hour and no one bother to assist me to buy that product. Customer service ladies called them several time and no one appear . Its highly annoying and misbehaving attitude toward the customers

yes this person is right about sunridge superstore, they are like a pack of wolves wearing turbans, I wanted to spend $500 bucks but ended up spending $50 due to being followed and watched like a common criminal!, out of 10 they deserve 0 for lack of intelligence

"The Real Canadian Superstore" has a 10% student discount every Tuesday for any student who shows their valid student I.D before the purchase. Of course there are exceptions to this discount which were listed in the advertisements and big signs. Understandable. Some of these exceptions are lottery, alcohol, eye glass repair, tobacco etc. Understandable...

Real Canadian Superstore False advertising in flyer

So I wanted to buy a little wristlet that was advertised in the flyer for UNDER five dollars. The flyer says Under 5.00 each on Holiday stocking stuffers, selected varieties. When I went to the till the girl scanned it and said it's five dollars. When I talked to customer service they said it means from five dollars and under but I said that's not what it says in the flyer. I know it's just five bucks but I hate false advertising and there's still tax on it so it would've been nice if it was under. I remember when I wanted to buy a bracelet at another grocery store the bracelet had been discontinued for a long time already. I like looking at flyers for discounts and promotions but it's just a bummer when it's not what you think it is when you go to the store.

Real Canadian Superstore Customer Service

I have been shopping at the Gateway location in Winnipeg for more than 12 years now and unfortunately find myself driving to Sobeys to shop more and more. I have found with Superstore more often than not the store is dirty (the produce mirrors are filthy), you can't find helpful staff ( told to go to customer service), and the shelves are bare (how can you be out of milk or creamer?).
Customers had to endure the dirt and the dust with the long lasting store renovations only to find the cosmetic area is basically no longer. Now the ladies that were so helpful in that department are reduced to merchandisers, not only is that a shame but a waste of talent.
I am not naive and know that to the corperate bigwigs it is all about the dollar signs but as a consumer you need to know that we consumers will go somewhere else and pay a bit more eventually if we are not satisfied with the service we recieve. Fork out the extra wages and staff the store, stock your shelves and clean up. We consumers made your store what it is, remember that.
The main reason for writting this is that once again I was shopping at your store as it was enroute to where I was heading and after filling my cart (4 items not on shelves)with mostly canned goods I proceed to the registars only to find 2 (I repeat 2) full service registars open. This was at 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon. I waited for 27 minutes in line to be checked out by a cashier that was so stressed, not a pleasent experience, I felt bad for her. On my way out I stopped by customer service only to be told that the head office was once again cutting back to hours, no apology or anything.
The customers are fed up, the staff is fed up, you need to wake up.
So once again I believe I will be visiting Sobeys for their clean, stocked store and to cashiers with a smile who bag my purchase. I'll pay the extra for that!

Bought a 710 ml of mayo-style spread, plant-based. Made a huge batch of cold pasta like i always do tasted horrible like the mayo was expired but was not. I just wasted approximately 30 dollars on ingredients, everything else was fresh not to mention spending an hour & a half cutting & preparation .not impressive. I spend 300. To 350. Every 2 weeks. What are you going to do for me?

Yesterday afternoon October 23/17 I was at superstore the one on Regent with my granddaughter inside my vehicle, I was about to park in the parking spot with the pink sign for mother's with babies and small children. All of a sudden I saw this person directing this big white jeep to take the spot for mother's and children.
Yes this big white jeep to the spot and this big guy came out from his big jeep with no children.

Real Canadian Superstore gift card was fake right off their wrack

I bought a $100.00 Gift Card right off the shelf, paid for it with real cash money and they decided the card was a fake someone had made. It look the same as all the other cards on the shelf? They told us they wouldn't honor it and that was it? So I guess it's buyer beware? Don't buy Gift Cards from the Superstore they might be fake!

Real Canadian Superstore free item

January 23 2011

This happened today the Jan 23 at superstore at metro town its very important to read the story and
Publish it as customer service was very poor.

2 adults and 2 kids.

Person 1 and person 2 any(1) and veronica(2) only for your information I don’t want this to be given to the super store at all and not to publish them too.

Person 1 came to the store to buy some stuff . = 19, , .
Person 2 met at 5 pm to get the rest of groceries

Person 1 purchased $19 earlier, but was not needed
Person 1 purchased $46.00..
Person 1 purchased $14..00 if the sign was there person 1 didn’t have to divide the juice and stuff for the oldest son. Simply she adds it at home but today she ask to divide it there.

Person 2 purchased $76.38
Person 2 purchased $14.00
The cashier left behind this items and I paid right away for this,
My request was very simple and not even demanding just that when a customer finds something odd the right thing is to ask for the right thing!

Here we asked for the free item (see coupon) the cashier said that 2 receipts are accepted and I had more than 2 . Okkkk we walked away because person 1 told me lets go to the customer service maybe she has not experience.

I went to the line up, person 1 waited beside me and
I said yes I have a question is this right? For the coupon free lasagna nonononono you cant get it its just 1 coupon per person,
Yes its only one what I have for yes but just 1 receipt
Are you sure? If this is a rule for this is it in written here?
Yesss she read all over and could not find it but found total amount of your purchase,
Listen I long time ago asked for it didn’t let me explain
(long time ago I asked that I didn’t make 250 but an earlier purchase was done too, I was told to bring receipts before closing time on the same day and I could redeem the coupon.
She pointed with her finger that I have been here many times with loose receipts trying to get the free item, got the phone and reported to be a customer with loose receipts getting a free lasagna and come to explain to her
Lady are you talking about me, excusemeee no she dint respond instead she pushed my receipts away to the corner of the counter and told me move away.
Were talking about me? I have never come here to ask for it.
The supervisor came down and she took her attention telling her all lies that she knows me with name and phone number, pointed again to me I know you you always come here to get the free item

Noo its not true what are you talking about, person 1 by my side too and kids, no you are accusing me very ugly, no I have not done this before, I said I would complain because this is false accusations and I want to know all the information from them and how to complain, the supervisor said she will give the lasagna and that’s it,
I insisted the accusation and abuse from this women I wont take it I wan to complain, there was no more lasagna so she said we come back tomorrow, we said no no anymore we wont bring this lasagna home so the supervisor walked away. I called again harder I want a manager here please. We waited on the side,
I turned to person 1 and see she is accusing me, but is not true. I was about to cry and I was holding on so hard
The manager came as I requested to file a complain
The manager came from outside so I talked to her first, she wanted to only talk about her policy of the free item and the receipts,
I cut it off and I said we don’t want and don’t need your lasagna more than this is the acussation I wont take this …….. Excuse my language but I want to tell you why I need to complain, again the focus was on their side, nothing to my side, I was asked to quiet and listen again to their policy, but not I wont get accused for that,
Well she finally went inside and here the version changed that she has said the names and number s are taken and it must be in the book
I demanded again to show me,

I firmly asked Michelle to write down with her hand written their names and employee number

Took a while to finally write down the store number and the way to complain
I count write it myself because it is an evidence that I was there .

I got the coupon and came back to ask them barb, to sign it to verify that this little thing has caused so much trouble.

We went down and I was very upset, I was in pain, my stomach was cramping so much,
By the time we got home my head was exploding, it is now 8;52 and I haven’t even given dinner yet,
And tomorrow to school and to work,
I don’t need to stress out my life for things like this,

As a customer I am doing the right thing,
I had a right to ask and even to ask where is it written specially because long time I was told it can be done if I got the other receipt before closing time,
And just here both of them took things different she said if the cashier was ok to take 2 receipts it was an exception but here we take 2 receipts only if one is coming from the photo depto, not from groceries.

Our name can be used as : loyal customer because I only prefer super store to buy all I need.
This has left me disappointed and upset I don’t know how I will feel the next time I come here.

Tis the season to celebrate! Superstore has weekly promotions in receiving gift cards of $25.00 (or more) if the consumer purchase items totalling $250.00 or more. being 2 weeks before Christmas, my friend and I went grocery shopping to get ready for Christmas. The promotion for the week was "spend $450.00 and get $50.00 gift card or spend $250.00 and get $25.00. Knowing that our purchase would be quite more than $700.00 we decided to go together do our shopping. This store is ALWAYS busy on the weekends and understanding this, we waited patiently for our turn as we lined up to the til to pay for our grocery purchase. By the time we got to the cashier, we had specifically told her that we had shared our carts and this was for 2 families and wish to get $75.00 total gift cards. Well, she either didn't understand us or she forgot because she rang the total as 1 receipt which only entitled us to $50.00 gift card. I immediately corrected her and questioned that she still owed us $25.00. Due to the transaction already finalized, the cashier had to call for a supervisor. This so called supervisor finally shows up and I had to explain the situation all over again. What we got was "this is store policy that under 1 transaction, it is considered as 1 family purchase and anything over $450.00 purchase is given $50.00 only". Understanding this I explained to her that we had combined our groceries to 2 carts and PRIOR to ringing the items, we had specifically said that "2 families and $75.00 gift certificate is what we were aiming for". This "wonderful service" we received caused us to request for our money back as the supervisor did not want to "break the policy". Disappointment, ANGER and frustration overwhelmed me at this point as we were asked to go to the customer service desk to get a refund of our total purchase of $756.00. I felt that this supervisor takes things at heart because out of spite, rather than just giving us our money back so we can head on out and NEVER come back to this store again, she made us WAIT AGAIN before someone could reimburse us back. It took us a little over 1 hour to go shopping BUT it took 2 hours to ring the items and get a refund! GREAT SERVICE, SUPERSTORE! THIS IS THE REASON this store has been nicknamed "STUPID-STORE" because of the LOUSY SERVICE given! Your prices may be cheap but that's ALL this store has to offer.
Due to the POOR SERVICE, I have now boycotted this store located at King George Hwy and 76th Ave, Surrey BC, Canada. Word of mouth is a cheap and a fast way of advertising. I for one use this method as well as voice out my opinion through the wonderful age of computers to follow suit to let everyone know of my experience at STUPID-STORE!

Agreed! The Superstore in Guildford on 104 Ave. isn't much better either! I've had numerous issues with the cashiers and their incompetency over the years, only to have any concerns brushed aside by their managers. The general attitude at Superstore is definitely something along the lines of "get in, get out and shut up". =(

Real Canadian Superstore poor quality of food

The quality of food in the Real Canadian Superstore had been in decline for a while. At first, it was still tolerable. Vegetables would go bad within the next two days after purchase, well what can you do, just eat it right the way. Then it became worse when the vegetable is actually rotten when I tried to use it immediately after purchase. So I decided to avoid fresh food. Then I bought some per-packaged cookies, and when I open it on the next day after purchase, it looks like there are bacteria growth on it! I can't believe how poor the quality control is. Just because the grocery is cheaper at Superstore doesn't mean anything at all! You ended up wasting money, time, and may even endanger your health.

When you walk into the Superstore In Langford, Victoria BC in the early afternoon at around 3:00pm like I did you will notice this. A few loaves of bread left and the last donuts in all their fresh bakery. I bought the last 6. No sourdough bread, 2 loaves of french bread left. No tomatoes, no bananas, no cilantro, only a few boxed mushrooms a few lettuces on the stand and only a few packages of peppers left too, and the price for a fist sized cauliflour was $5, are you kidding me...?
I mean it looked like the end of the world. Everyone who walked by said the same thing, what is happening here?

I left with very little as I couldn't even make a proper salad. Everything had so little if any of each produce. There were only a few yogurts too...
The prices were crazy expensive. A box of grapes $6, a tiny tiny pineapple for $4. The parsley was $1.70 for a tiny bunch... seriously?

Might as well go to a higher end since I would be paying these prices there with fresh fresh produce and abundant and flawless produces... Lifestyle markets here I come? I'm really disappointed in this superstore. I have never seen a more poorly run Superstore anywhere ever. They need a new manager who knows how much bread to make to sell daily without running out in the early afternoon. Not being able to buy bread at dinner time if you want to stop buy which is a staple is simply poor poor management.

The produce (and food) at "Great" Canadian SuperStore is extremely poor quality, as far as cheaper that is not true either, buying half & half cream, Costco price $1.89 for 1L, SuperStore $1.99 (only if you buy 2 of them otherwise it is $3.97 for 1). Produce cost is pretty much the same, except the Costco quality is far superior. Box of oranges 5LB $4.99 (Superstore) nearly half are already or go moldy within a day or two. Yet "Fresh" is their mandate, hardly. Costco oranges $9.99 for 10LB box, and superior quality product. Sourdough bread at SuperStore (one loaf) $3.99, Sourdough bread at Costco (two loaves) $4.97 (approx), and again the quality is superior. Bought a bag of red potatoes, spending more time cleaning them, because of dirt and bug infestation, then it should take me to cook them.
Located in Abbotsford, BC, used to be called Great Canadian Superstore, may be called Real Canadian Superstore, either case, should not be allowed to call themselves Canadian given the quality of food and service. Couple times I witnessed different produce people restocking their tomatoes, they dumped the box out like they were a box of rocks instead of tomatoes! So I feel the blame lays squarely with both the suppliers of the produce and with the store personnel.

the most disgusting store i have ever shopped in, in my whole entire life. 3 out of 5 times i go there they either have no produce or what they do have is bruised and moldy. the last time i was there i was looking for tomatos, they had about 20 tomatos, i counted 12 moldy ones sitting there. i am so disgusted by this store and its staff. how could you work in a place where they wash the floor once a month. the parking lot is cleaner than their floors, thats not an over-exaduration. somebody needs to do something about this place, because obviously the managment and the staff are fine with having a store in this condition. sick.

Please tell your front counter NOT TO SMOKE in the gas area. She doesn't have a name tag so I didn't get her name, that was around 10am at confederation, Saskatoon. When she saw us approaching she hid her cigar behind those chemicals in front of the store. Hope she'll be reprimanded, its for everyone's safety.

Real Canadian Superstore very urrogant

I had to buy a big bag of kitty litter and requested help because I was holding my infant daughter. I didn't feel comfortable laying her down on the conveuor belt because she was sleeping. All I wanted was help with putting the kitty litter into the bag. The cashier just threw me a bag rudely at me and demanded that I pay for the plastic bag and went on with next customer. I must say that was very arrogant.

Real Canadian Superstore terrible customer service

Twice I have had to deal with a so called manager in this store by the name of Andrea and have had appalling service and attitude from her on both occassions with the latest one being today. We were purchasing an item that had a sign attached to it clearing stating that the cashier would take 50% off the total at the till, when the item scanned at the full price we questioned her on it and she called for this Andrea who then proceeded to tell us that it didn't matter what the sign said they were not going to give the reduced price. I asked her why they don't honor posted signage and she turned and walked away from us without giving an answer. This was the second dealing we have had with her and have had the same result both times, when she is faced with having to give an intelligent answer and make a customer happy she turns and runs. Why this store feels that she is helping to keep customers is beyond me. The Duncan store has just lost a customer who spends over $500. a month.

I bought a Westinghouse tv on Dec 26 at Wasaga Beach ON store, didn't work so took back the 27th and exchanged it for another one, the customer service gave me copy of a small receipt plus gave me back the original receipt with price on it, got 2nd tv home and did not work either, took it back on the 28th to get money back and was told I couldn't get money back cause I did not have original receipt, we told customer service that is what was given to us from the girl working on the 27th, they said that it was not original and was our problem not theirs that we did not have original, It was the original cause it was folded in my purse, I do not appreciate being told the receipt I had was not original when I knew it was, so basically told I was lying and it was my fault they did not give me the so called original, so I could either exchange for a 3rd tv or get gift receipts, which I did not want either, I just wanted to get my money back and go else where, so I had no choice but to take a tv I didn't even want anymore and was smaller than the first 2 I tried to buy but the only one that was the same price as first 2 tv's. I will never buy from that store again, the customer service was so disgusting to even talk to!

I've always been at the understanding that if they don't give you something at the price advertised, you get your money back in full. It's happened to me twice now at this store and they refunded me the price in total.

Feb 27th, at 6:18 pm, store 01577, term Z0157714, Slip # 469500, Reg # 14.

When we approached the cashier, she was reading a magazine. She processed our order and we had to ask for a bag. She continued to read the magazine as we were paying with our debit. I work in retail and I do not believe in customer service like we received tonight. She was more interested in the magazine which should be on the counter for customers to buy and not being read when she is being paid.

Why do you people shop at stuperstore just dont shop there, boycott them, its really that simple. pay a little more and shop elsewhere trust me I have already I even find walmart customer service better and thats saying something. Safeway iga sobeys save on are light years ahead of all lablows owned stored and superstore, I am in vancouver and I avoid my local grandview highway superstore like the plague.

Compared to Save-On and Safeway, Superstore Is a disaster in it's customer service and quality of products. I ended up in a loud argument with the manager et al over the price of cat chow as displayed on the label. The description on the label did not specify that the price related to one of the products and not the others that were on the same shelf and that were made by the same company.

Apparently I was supposed to be able to read see the bar code or the number (on the lowest shelf), on the labels to see that there was a difference in price. And then, the ensuing argument with the manager, who would not accept any responsibility for the inadequate signage on the shelf. Had the same situation arisen in either Save-on or Safeway, their manager would have defused the conflict in the customer's favor. I have seen both these companies resolve pricing conflicts in such a professional and customer courteous manner. Not so, Superstore. Their managers must be trained to fight customers to the death rather than give up a few dollars. What a terrible attitude! It's not worth the few dollars you might save on a few items by shopping at Superstore. I have had one too many horrible shopping experiences in Superstore.

Sorry parent, you're not right in this case. I myself have seen this time and time again. It's a tactic they use and it's a tricky one. At the Superstore they will have a sign advertising something at a discounted price. The sign will be right where what appears to be the sale product. It will even say (for example), Purina Cat Food at such and such a price. (sale price) Then when you go to pay, it was a different item that was on sale. It's very misleading because the sign will say an item is on sale, only it won't mean the item that is DIRECTLY by the sign. It will mean a different product. What they are doing is putting this sign by a more expensive product so people will buy it. It's not about being "illiterate". Nobody should have to try and read a teeny tiny bar code to make absolutely sure they are getting what is on sale. This is manipulation at it's finest.

It's not about not being able to read. I'm sure you're smarter than that. They put a for sale sign directly next to the item which appears to be on sale. They even say it's (for example) bag of purina cat food at such and such a price. Again, keep in mind this is advertised right by this product. That's malicious, misleading and you can't expect people to think otherwise. Unless you have very good eyesight, you aren't able to even see the friggin bar code and you shouldn't have too look for it. You should be able to go by the sign. If it's right where the product is and it "means" a different product on a different shelf, then they should put the sign by the product. It isn't hard to understand.

Had Made an appointment to take photo's with my two children ages 5 and 3 and had called 2 days prior. We went during our appointment session and Rob from photo studio (Superstore, London ont, on Oxford) couldn't find our names regarding the appointment we had scheduled. He Hummed and awed and completely not my error nor my problem for that matter. Not even 5 minutes has passed and another customer walks in with her two children, and said sorry ma’am since I myself booked in these people weeks ago I'm taking them in first. I was so livid and shocked that he approached me in that manner and didn't even apologize for any inconvenience ignored that fact that I was there with my two children. I asked to speak to a Manager who was completely useless and Rob and I had argued in front of the manager and I looked at the Manager and said "Do you call this customer service"? Of course he was speechless and did nothing to make the situation better. Unbelievable service. Very disgusted with their service and definitely will not shop there or have my photo's taken.

Real Canadian Superstore poor quality, worse customer service

Tried to return a defective food product today that I purchased two days ago. Was refused by someone who called herself a "store manager" for a completely (in my opinion) lame excuse - and who would not, when asked, show me where this was addressed in the refund policy.

This "manager" did not appear to me to even have a Grade 1 understanding of customer service and has now, single handedly managed to PERMANENTLY alienate a customer who regularly spent $11, 000 per year in "her" store over a $15 refund. I will never shop at Superstore again and will tell as many people as I can to do the same in the (probably vain) hope that someone, somewhere in that organization will ultimately make the connection between customers and paycheques.

I am a superstore employee and honestly sometimes there is nothing we can do. however if tht person called themselves a store manager they should have handled the situation better. sometimes i think a 12 year old can do a better job then some managers.

Real Canadian Superstore Refusal to exchange product

I bought a playstation 3 at a Superstore in Spruce Grove Alberta. After 2 months it quit working.

As I live in rural manitoba returning it to the original store was impossible. So I took it to Winnipeg and stopped at the mcphillips st. Superstore. They said they could not exchange it as they were out of stock but told me to go to the Portage Ave. location as they had them in stock.

When I arrived there they asked for my receipt which I gave them. The sales clerk told me that they would not exchange it because it was not bought at that store. I have exchange things at Walmart stores that were bought at different locations and have never had a problem with them.

Now im stuck with having to go to Sony to get warranty and will probably have to pay a pretty penny for shipping.

Superstore is a second rate business and I would strongly recommend that people shop elsewhere.

There is no price match in this location and I was told by the manager that every superstore has its own pricing, than what is the use for the flyer becuse it should be same for every store's, and I sawed them the fruiticana store flyer and there said there can't match with them too.

Where is the price match guarantee.

I bought Foremost Dairies Plain Yoghurt 4 KG tub worth CAD$14.99 plus taxes on 20th July 2023 from 100-3633 Westwinds Drive NE store with Best Before date of 26 August 2023.
