This report is about fraud with Armani clothes, which seems to be spread all over the world, with few different modifications.

Yesterday [protected]) evening, 40 year old Italian man on parking place near shopping center in Kosice/Slovakia, with a story that he lost all his money in casino previous day and needs money for a gas to get home.

He was in black Fiat Punto with Italian plates. Speaking english, italian, probably spanish. He also showed me his passport and some bank cards, called his wife and son.

In a good will, that I am helping, I borrowed him 390EUR (to earn this money I should work more than month). He also gave me some clothes (fake Armani?), as a "present". Now I see, that this is worldwide spread fraud.

From his passport I have this info:

Name: Luigi Zinzi
Passport number: F573376
Born: February 6th 1967

And two italian telephone numbers, which he gave to me:

[protected]
[protected]

He also showed me some paper, stamped by police in Naples.

Be aware! You can find reports about these “Armani” guys from whole Europe and USA! This is not minor trickery, it seems to be organized crime!

Dubai
I also got conned by this artist in Dubai! I've done quite a lot of research on the web and found out a lot about it!
It's not 1 person operating alone, there's a gang of 20 to 30 people operating this scam in the UAE for the past 6 years (members of the Mafia). They are originally from Naples, holding fake identities/addresses and they've been searched internationally as they have criminal history in other countries where the scam reached higher levels. They remain in the UAE due to a lack of extradition treaties. This is just one of the many italian organized crimes that have been operated globally.

Organized Crime is nowdays the biggest business in Italy according to the Confesercenti authoritative report, it takes about $250 million/ day from retailers and businessmen. The UAE is an important crossroads for business, and as result, also for crime. These gangs normally mantain legitime business holdings worldwide that are offen used as a cover for their criminal operations.

Be aware of this scam! His name was Gaetano which is associated to a range of other scams worldwide. These people are extremely skilled and enjoy taking honest money from others! The best artists wear suit and tie, and the funny thing is that I recently saw the same guy on a maserati!

Prague
Two guys in new Citroen with italian number plates stopped me on the street. Told me that they were just in Parizska street to present new armani collection and now heading back to itali. But unfortunately they had some thing they didn´t sold. He told me he don´t want to make a bussines and gave some jacket for free, because he has a very rude director and have to sell everything. But then he changed his strategy and told me that I have to buy apparel for 375 euros to get those jacket for free or as a present :-) I luckily told him not to have money on and left him on the street.
Be aware of those guys.

Too late for me also... Lewisville, Tx, 3dec2010. Man, Italian(, early 40, blk hair. Stopped me in shopping strip, needed directions to get to DFW airport. Stated he was lost and needed to get his suv ( Blue ford Edge or Escape) back to the airport DFW. He said he was here for a presentation of a new store opening here. He had these Armani jackets and some other clothing which he would like to get rid of. He showed me the leather jackets 2 blacks ($900+) and one brown($800+). Nothing about the jackets made me suspicious, felt and smelt like leather. He wanted some money because he wanted to buy his wife and kid something before he caught his flight around 9pm (exact time given). He said he couldn't use his company card for the items for his family. He would sell me the the brown for 100 and throw in the other two, he didnt care, the company can eat the lost. Gave him the money to help out (silly me). The jackets were in an Emporio Italy worldwide bags with the roma milano symbol. Put the bags in the car without looking, got home found two black jackets but brown was not, and both were leather. Lesson learned..BE WARE... look nice but fake..

Same just happenned to me today (7th Oct 2010) in Paris. 40 years old looking like italian guy, almost bald, hailed me from a rented car, as if to ask me some directions.
Different story though : he was a commercial from Armani demonstrating 4 pieces of the last collection (2 Reportage Rea jackets: 1 of leather and 1 of deer, and 2 armani suits). And he was heading to the airport to get his plane back to Italy. But he didn't want to pay the 19% VAT that he would have paid at the airport if he brought the suits back to Italy, and as he got them as a gift from Armani, he wanted to make a gift back to someone "he trusted" (stupid me). Told me the total price was 5000€, one piece beeing about 1200€, and he didn't even ask me the price for one, but only 650€. He asked me how much I could give, as he needed some money to buy some gifts back from Paris for his familly. We agreed on 280€ for the 4 pieces. But when I went back home, 1 suit had disappeared.

He showed me many papers to proove his story (but no business card from Armani, as he already "gave them all" during the show), and gave me his contact:
[protected] (fix phone)
[protected] (mobile, line is always busy)

Jackets and suit look nice though, but I bet they are fake. I just found some "made in China" label, which is not a proof, but one more hint...
