Ranchozuma / Lodging / Fraudalent advertising
There are a number of complaints. We purchased an all inclusive stay at Ranchozuma. This paid for the cabin rental as well as electricity, water and wifi. Our first three weeks there we may have had water half the time due to a broken pump that did not feed the secondary storage tank. Management finally did replace the pump but it took some doing for that to occur. When we ran out of propane, that was our only source of fuel for cooking, we were told we had to pay for the propane. Next, we were asked to pay for electricity for our cabin. It was either that or move out. Had we moved out we would have forfeited the money already paid in advance for our rental. Internet has been sketchy at best for our entire stay. A few days ago they only way to access the internet was to walk up to the manager's house and sit on his steps to pick up wifi. Now that doesn't even work. The cabin was filthy when we arrived, there was no hammock as advertised, the sewer smelled and the veranda had numerous boards that are either broken or sagging and about to break. The website advertised laundry facilities for each cabin. When we arrived there was and still is one washing machine. It originally sat on a number of mismatched broken boards and the outlet hose fitting was cracked and disconnected from the machine. I do have pictures on my computer of many of these items. Here's a few. If you require more I would be happy to provide them. One last item, the manager, Christina Sherman, promised us that we would not be charged for anything in addition to what we paid for in advance. The manager on site, named Chris, took it upon himself to charge us for electricity $40.00 and propane $18.00. He did say that we may have to pay for internet service but we have not done so as yet. I am accessing your site from El Sano Banano in Montezuma.
