I came home and one of the tanks are leaking on the upper side, unable to shut it off to keep it from leaking. My wife called the "customer service" number if you can call it that. They never decided to call us back and just go home or something, because no one else answered after that. The water is running under my house as it leaks, it will not be long before I have a pond under there. Which is not going to help the kitchen drain that they cracked during installation. Then we have the coupons for groceries and other services that you have to pay to receive, or the free vacation. Tried calling the line for the free vacation in the middle of the day, must have been taking a ciesta, because no one was answering the phones for that one. Maybe they were just giving out free vacations for the one caller they picked up the phone for. I don't know. I do know that the product is not worth the money. Their soaps , they also gave a 5 year supply of soap, in which I received, which may not actually last the five years, is no where near as strong as an actual cleaner. The whole unit, which was made to sound like it was much smaller, is plastic and bulky and not built as good as it needs to be. I totally makes my back patio look awful gawdy and there is not that big of a difference in the water quality itself. I think this is some crack junk someone is out saling, otherwise they would not be trying to give away all of this "free"stuff to get you to take it. I would love it if they would just come get this thing and put it where it belongs, in the GARBAGE. Needless to say it is not worth the $8,000.00 i spent on it.

You are all correct folks, , we sent them on there way after a boring two hours, , the guy wasnt happy when I told him the yellow bottle looked like my last p specimen, , 8K indeed and if the mystery soap was so great they would sell it on the outside.Home depot needs to have more employees then sale stooges standing around flipping their minnows

Our rep was an hour late, but apologized and stayed about 75 minutes. I Googled his company right in front of him and showed him the many complaints. He backed off and never gave us a firm price. I have a feeling we might just all survive into adulthood drinking our tap water. We took the $30 Home Depot gift card and sent him on his way.

RainSoft rep took 2-1/2 hrs. to do what on phone they said would take 1 hr. Then hard sell. Then, when we didn't buy, he said at least get in touch w/ him within 24 hrs. We took the time in between to check the internet --- RainSoft comments on internet are about 95 negative to 5 positive. So we called back and said that we couldn't make up our mind that fast, needed to do more research on various systems, and, being honest with him, gave him the results of what we found on the internet... He got mad, said a few things, and hung up on me. I called him back to let him know I would be adding my negative comments to the internet as well! Bottom Line: RainSoft came to us through running across their rep in Home Depot. They charge you approximately double for a system that you can get lots of other places, and I'm sure they split the windfall between Home Depot and the rep. They're at least double other systems of same calibre, and that's after giving you the 'discount' for buying the same day of the demo (pressure selling).

CONCLUSION: GIVE RAINSOFT (AND ANYONE ELSE HOME DEPOT SENDS YOU FOR THAT MATTER) A WIDE BERTH... DON'T TOUCH THEM!

All I've read is true. We has a system put in at our house as well as one in my daughters and son in law.
Not only do you need to watch them but if they ask you to finance this with a company they deal with DON"T.
We had ours installed 2 years ago @ 12.000.00f or both homes. Had payments set up after 2 month on auto draft. Didn't think any more about it...to make a long story short after 2 years of paying 250. a month I still owe 10, 000. Interest rate went up due to two late payments...because the date we set up for them to auto draft was on a weekend, banks closed.
Monday payment was late...Am paying this off by the end of this month...tired of wasting hard earned $ on their B...S...

Rainsoft sales people should take note of the time when coming out to a home to perform a "demonstration" (which I'm not completely sure is not full of "tricks") the sales person arrived at around 7:00pm and did not leave until around 11:30pm.

In my opinion this is rediculous, and is a waste of time for the consumer. I do however agree with another post that I saw in that the salesperson's tactic is to tire the individual which in turn doesn't allow for clear thinking.

And what about the water test, where it looks like chicken soup? does everyone's?

I honestly think my friend got suckered into buying this unit, all under the guise of an Outback gift card!

If it had been me, I honestly would have told the guy off and would have asked him to leave!

A Rain Soft rep called to set up a demo and offered a no obligation gift (family vacation). The cheesy sales person came to our house, wasted 4 hours of our time with this weird science experiment (it was so abvous that is was full of illusions). He bacame upset that we did not purchase the system and was disrespectful. He accused my husband of not caring for his family enough to make the investment...how rude! He left, after we basically begun to turn off the lights in our house (it was 10:30p) and did not offer the "free" gift. This company is a fraud...beware!

RainSoft is annoying. I got phone call from them (caller ID) for almost 10 days - each time I pick up the phone - it's quiet.

Until today, some one says "hello". They mentioned about the gift reward from HOmeDepot I signed up a while ago.

Too sick of the past experience with phone calls from f..k..ing RainSoft - it turned me off. I told them - please do not call me again.

RainSoft's site looks nice - but I won't buy thier product because of the stupid phone call they made to my homephone multiple times (per day) and it's quiet .. like an automated machine.

Overall - good company or not - I don't care. For me - they're annoying and thats' my attitude toward "Rain Soft"

Oh my gosh, Rain Soft was installed in our house and the guy that installed it left a pin whole size leak.
We discovered the leak at 10:30 at night. We had major water damage. What a nightmare.
We had our insurance co. handle it.
We had wet walls and wet carpet. Rain Soft was going to come and bring their fans in. The man from Surf Pro the water damage people said. " What did they want to do?"
The Rain soft people never called and apologized for the damage.

Our Rain Soft System has been nothing but a thorn in our side since having it installed. Top dollar for a piece of junk! Our dealer told us how wonderful it was. We do not have soft water... the unit leaks. Our last water bill was 289.00! There are only 2 of us in this house! Rain Soft SUCKS!
