At the check out, a young female employee who seemed agitated from the start, asked me for a lot of personal information that had not be requested during previous shopping transactions and I told her I wasn't comfortable giving out this info, that I had recently received lots of junk mail. She was got more upset and so I cancelled the credit card transaction and pulled out cash. She again asked me for my address, phone number and driver's license and I told her that this info was not necessary for a cash transaction. She began to ring up the sale and the male manager walked up and asked if there was a problem and I said that there was not a problem. He said that he couldn't have me abusing his employees and told me I'd have to leave the store. I looked at this kid half my age with below intelligence and had to smile - thinking he must be kidding. As I was getting my receipt he said I had to leave the store - an obvious attempt at impressing the female employee with his "might". I politely explained that I was a longtime faithful customer and I would be complaining about his lack of courtesy and knowledge of customer service. He refused to give me his card so I made a note of his name on the tag he wore. As I left the store, he threatened me by yelling out that he had my personal information in the computer. He shouted that I was banned forever from the store. Beware of Radio Shack in Stevens Point Wisconsin. Under previous management it was a fine establishment - albeit a store filled with items you can most of the time find cheaper elsewhere.

I needed a charger for a cell phone, so I went to a Radio Shack store. Due to a bad experience almost 20 years ago I promised myself never to walk into a Radio Shack store, but I needed the charger quickly so I made an exception. This is a rough summary of the transaction:

1. I find a good charger. It's a bit overpriced, but not completely unreasonable. I take the charger to the register.
2. The salesman asks me for my email address. This is admittedly a common practice, so I have created an email address for email I just ignore. I gave the salesman this address.
3. The salesman attempts to sell me an extended warranty for the charger. The charger had a price of $42.95, and he wanted to sell me a warranty that would have cost $6.99 per year. Yup they wanted to charge my credit card $6.99 per year for a $42.95 charger, and this would have apparently continued forever until I cancelled the extended warranty. When I declined, the salesman called over the manager who attempted to hard sell me the warranty. I declined again. I had to decline two more times before they gave up.
4. The manager talks about a great sale they are having on batteries, and then asks me how many batteries I want. Note that he didn't ask me if I actually wanted any batteries, he just asked how many I wanted. I said I didn't need any batteries right now. I had to refuse two more times before they gave up trying to sell me some batteries.
5. The manager then asks when brand of cellphone I owned. I forget how I responded, but it resulted in a sales pitch for a cellphone with 500 prepaid minutes. Again, I had to decline three times.
6. At this point I would have normally left the store (assuming I actually waited this long), but I really needed the charger. I think it showed, which is probably why I kept getting sales pitches. But they finally rang up the charger, and they told me to slide my credit card through the reader. Except that I didn't see the price for the charger, I saw an appeal for a charity. Now let's be fair, the requested donation was only for one dollar. But my patience was really running short at this point, and I didn't know what else would happen if I approved the one dollar donation. So I declined the donation request. The salesman (not the manager) muttered something - clearly he wasn't impressed by some cheapskate who would decline a one dollar donation.
7. By now I had the crazy idea that they were going to give me the charger and let me leave the store. Silly me. The salesman held the bag and gave me a pitch about a survey I could fill out online at home which will result in my getting a $10.00 coupon (the URL was printed on the receipt). And THEN, he finally gave me the bag and I left the store. I didn't fill out the survey, but I would guess one of the purposes was to gather personal information.

Bottom Line: Breaking my 20 year promise to myself to never walk into a Radio Shack store was a mistake. I certainly won't repeat the error.

I have been in the radio shack in bridge hampton on several occasions, leaving everytime frustrated and wanting to scream. they are rude, ignorant and look down at everyone. a friend of mine was in there recently buying batteries and got a smart comment from the male cashier that she was buying them for her vibrator, an unwanted and unnessecary comment. my most recent run in was wen i went in there with my fiancee and we had our 9 month old dog with us when a very rude man SHOUTED from half way up the store “he is not allowed in here get out” a simple dogs are not allowed would have done.

instead we walked out stunned and humiliated with all the customers staring at us. i am sick of their behavour and would like radio shack to do something about THEIR employees bad manners.

It is not the company. I have tried to use your "magic jack" many times. I have been able to talk to someone probably 5 times in the last year and can only talk for 10 min. and then it cuts out. I even went out and bought a new phone thinking that the was the problem. NOT. Your product is fradulant and you will probably pay the price for that. DON'T even send me a renewal, I will go go bilistic with you and your company! Maybe this will help you all to make your product more efficent or you will write your customers an apology for talking them into purchasing this product.

I am writing regarding my recent experience with radio shack. My 12 yr. Old needed a calculator for school and I took her to radio shack to purchase it. The sales person talked her into upgrading saying it would then be something she could use into college. She took this to school and was unable to use it. We tried to return it but as the original packaging could not be reused, were told that it was too bad. This is a $17.99 calculator that a grown up sold to child. She was very embarrassed and upset. I will check with ftc regarding "selling up" to children.

Don't trust them. I over heard a sells man, Tanner, out and out lie to a customer about Verizon on Saturday night, July 18, 2017, while shopping at the Murrells Inlet, SC Radio Shack. Be warned that if you get him you may be lied to as well. I and my family will never shop with that store or any other Radio Shack as long as Tanner works for Radio Shack.
We need to trust that what our sells person is telling us is the truth. I know that it was not me that was lied to however that isn't the point. I wounder if this is the way we want our friends and families treated.
No company should use lies to sell. If the sells person is just out to make a buck then it is every one of us who suffer. Step up and stand for truth in sells.

My son's ninetendo was mistakly sent to radio shack warranty department by mistake and they destoried the merchandise. I was told by two supervisors that they would replace it and then when the information was sent to them with the cost they declined. That dsi was 180 dollars and they did not replace the item instead they destoried it.

Bought a brand 'new' computer with windows xp as the operating system. I was worried about getting used to a windows 7 operating system but now I am fumbling with xp... The retail sales clerk told me over the phone that it would stream mlb. Tv which was the only reason I bought it... It does for about two innings... My loss... I am disabled and unable to box it up much less get there to return it... Ftom now on I will stick to a computer shop for computers instead of retail... The job of a retail sales clerk is to say yes it can even if its a shot from the hip

Be wary of radio shack sales

I called a Radio Shack Store to see if they had an advertised item. The girl said, yes we have one. I said I would be right over to get it. Hold it for me. When I got there, nobody knew what I was talking about, they said the sale would be over tomorrow, and if any comes in they would sell it to me, they couldn’t assure me that the would get more. So after calling ahead, paying for gas to drive to the store that told me they had one, but all they had was an empty box, I said I’d like to see the manager, the sales “associate” that was waiting on me walked into the back room, and I followed him.

There was a young lady sitting there, and she yelled, get out of here or I’ll call the police, your not allowed back here, I said call the police, she and the people in the store were very dumb, and knew nothing about customer service, I wanted to pay for the item at that time, and pick it up when they got it in, but they said that is not allowed. It seems that customer service is not allowed in the store, they are very “dumb”, if it’s not on the computor, it’s impossible. Seems more like a theology than a business.

1. Why advertise an item you do not have?
2. Why tell a customer you have the item, when you do not? and have him waste expensive gas to drive to the store.
3. If out of the item advertised, why not allow rain check, or prepayment for the item at the sale price. To not do at least this could be constude as false advertising, lying,
4. If you do not want customers in the back room, don’t have associates walk back there, while you follow, put a big sign KEEP OUT…..which I will do at least in this NEWPORT KY store.

They were very BUMB….and that’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it, go call the police if you want, I want to buy something, I call ahead, they say they have it at a sale price, I rush over to buy it, NO GOT! I guess I’m the DUMB one for listening to your employees, associates, what ever you call them. bernard madoff was a fraud and so are those associated with Radio Shack. Thanks for reading, but I feel certain nothing will happen as a result of my submitting a complaint. Politically correct is all that counts, and I’m sure that’s how you want to be seen as.

I was a part time employee of this Radio Shack for over 4 years. It was a second job to help tie up some loose ends. I always performed my duties with professional respect to the crew and customers. I made many of great friends who would always seek me for their electronic needs. I worked a 4pm-9pm shift, which was then cut to 3pm-9pm after within this last month of Feburary 2017, I noticed my name was not on the schedule for the work week. This raised a red flag right away with me. The manager was on his 2 days off and told me to call and he "Would fix the schedule" to re-add me back on. I said fine and thought the program that schedules hours might have goofed. I called him that Tuesday and was basically told I was let go due to "performance" reasons. How in the heck can I sell products and perform on a 3 hour shift, which was a slow time for our store. This is so wrong it makes me mad as heck here. But he hired another person who is now a full time employee. Radio Shack and it's big wigs have lost all my respect big time. They have become a corporate cell phone giant which is not the real Radio Shack I grew up with I can tell you that. They will never see another dollar from me period and I now will purchase from Best Buy in my town. Thanks for reading.

I have rare complain about the service or product, but this is what a rude service. I stop by friday today afternoon on radio shack, on 919 S W 5TH AVE store, and want to purchase something, so I go to ask a staff for some question and option of the product. The woman is rude and dont even want to help me. When I ask her to show me the product, she even say "gosh!" in her mouth. Finally, she was not willing to explain, and with a very rude atitude to customer. I was going to purchase something, end up with only mad and disapointed. Is this customer service try to help the company or bring down the company. I went to radio shack often, but this kind of service really makes me doubt of the quality of the company.

I had like the weirdest guy who when I had showed him my phone and I was wanting to see what kind of cell phone covers they sold, he took my phone and I don't really remember everything but he just seemed really weird and obviously uninterested in helping me find the right cover for it. He really pissed me when, after he took my phone he "accidentally" dropped it at least two times, and then he tried to make a joke of it, and he was like, oh I have dropped your phone twice now, or some nonsense, so I ended up getting so mad I think it ended with me grabbing my phone, yelling at him, for being so ###ed and obviously leaving. Geez, it feels really good to vent on here, but after all the bad review that I have read about this company, I swear I am never going back there, because Radio Shack seriously SUCKS!

I live near this location and from time to time have stopped in to buy whatever my electronic need might be...and continue to experience sales people who won't sell to me. Two months ago I walked in to purchase a new replacement DSL modem... I found the model I was looking for on their display stand and asked how much for it...I was then joined by another sales person who told me he wouldn't sell it because he lacked the power cord for it..(This is Radio Shack.. they specialize in adapters and power cords), so I said okay and didn't spend to $120. (plus tax) and walked out... A week later I went back to purchase a adapter for my home theater and was told they didn't have any (though they clearly had some on display)..I departed empty handed... Today, (12/10/10) I went in for a ipod headphone extension cord...I found it, and went to pay for it...and was told that the cash draw was stuck/locked/inoperable and my purchase could not be completed...I asked how much the item would cost after tax and paid with the exact change while the staff loudly grumbled.

Been going to Radio Shack since 70′s. Needed 2G splitter for coax, so quick and slick sent friend to Radio Shack in Enfield CT, no problem. The Radio Shack womeness employee converted 75 Ohms into 2 Ghz noting that Radio shack measured products differently. The time and effort lost to me is beyond what my fingers can now express. She Must Go. And most certainly the one that hired her. Ignorance and incompetence sometimes can cost more than what a simple salesmen’s mind can imagine and of course ever comprehend. Thinking that their relevance is of more value then the little bit of effort it might take to be sincere or even honest. Get Rid of Them Both I Say. Enfield at the mall.

On August 26, 2017, I found out Radio Shack made a negative report in my credit report about a non collected balance of $811 due to a purchase made in 2017. I do not have any knowledge of this purchase, not even when, where, how or this item was purchased. The only thing I know it appears in my credit report. What I know is that I did buy an IBM Activa Pentium I back in 1997 that costed me in that time $4, 000 and I applied to their credit card in order to get it. I was paying it every single month for 4 years but the %APR was so high that the balance never went down enough, for that reason I decided to take a loan and to pay it off in 2017. I do not remember how much it was but I do remember it was more than $3000. After I decided to cancel the credit card and never received bill statements again and Radio Shack reported $0 balance in my credit report. Now, on 8/26/2017, I was doing the errands to buy a new home and when the Realtor ran my credit report found a negative report from Radio Shack that says I owed them $811. I called Customer Service and they stated this amount came from a purchase made in 2017. When I asked them where and when this purchase was made and what was the product, they were unable to answer me these questions and just told me that they would send me the bill statement so I can see and make a dispute. As far as I know, I have not received the bill statement and my problem has not been solved. Even last year my credit report was clean. I do not understand how did they charge me for something that was purchased in 2017 and then posted in 2017. I never used this credit card again after I bought that computer and paid it off in 2017 (10 years ago). I will keep filing complaints against them until this issue can be solved.

No wonder Radio Shack closed their stores in NJ. The staff here are just as nasty as they were in NJ.
I was traveling in New Mexico and accidentally left my camera charger at home. Added to this, my battery went dead. I was stuck. Family vacation and suddenly no ability to take pictures.

I went to Wal-Mart who went out of their way to call the local Radio Shack to confirm that they had the battery that I needed. Further, Wal-Mart confirmed that there was a possibility that Radio Shack may have had a charger. But they needed to see my camera first.

My kids and I proceeded to Radio Shack to speak with "Chris" who was nasty that the Wal Mart employee had gotten his name wrong. He then denied have either a battery or a charger and further told me that I would never be able to take pictures on this vacation; that I could not use anything besides a Canon product. He was so rude and nasty that my children and I just walked out of the store. I am going to try to track down their headquarters location to complain.

Bottom line. We went back to Wal-Mart where at least I was able to secure a battery which seems to be working fine.

STAY AWAY FROM RADIO SHACK.

I visited store number 01-6518 on the 12th of September 2017. When I arrived with my husband and family I noticed there was only one other party in the store being served. There was a gentlemen on the register taking care of him and he called another employee over by the name of Emillea Dennillson( Name given by the employee) I went over to the phone section after the guy on the register told us he would be over to take care of us as soon as he was done. It looked as though he had an exchange. We waited, , , , , and waited, , , , and waited. The gentlemen then comes over on the phone looking around for something( he had taken a call in the meantime) and my husband and I went back up front to see if the other cashier (Emillea) could help us. we cam into the store around 5:00 pm and by this time it was well after 5:20 pm she was very rude and sarcastic. She was doing something on the register and she rudely asked my husband "What, , , doesen't it look like I am already working?" I was appalled at her snide remark and I then commented to my husband- " We can take our money and spend it where it is appreciated" I walked out while my husband requested the number to corporate and here we are. I noticed that when I went to the next radio shack I Hammond, Indiana on east 165th street As soon as we walked into the door we were greeted with a smile and we were taken care of within a decent time frame. We were acknowledged and we were treated as if we mattered and were not treated as rudely either. I found her attitude and the nonchalant attitude of her co worker to be VERY disturbing AND embarrassing. I would like for this to be dealt with. I spent over 300.00 in the store(another Radio Shack) that day and I really feel that I should have never went back into another Radio Shack again. I told several friends about the service and to my surprise at least two people knew the store and exactly who I was referring to. This cannot be good for business either. I really don't usually write these type of complaints but I fell compelled to at least try to notify someone about this type of treatment of customers.

I will be sending a complaint over to consumer affairs and reporting this to the better business bureau and whoever else will listen due to this horrible experience. Thank you

On March 22nd 2017 I purchased a set of surveillance cameras paid cash for them $478.98. The guy in the store claimed they worked together as they were by the same company just sold separately (they did NOT) I did at the time before purchasing ask if I could return them if they did not work or had anything wrong. WHAT HE DIDN'T SAY: I returned them to the same store the next day and was told that I would be leaving the store with an IOU Promise to pay by check in the mail from their Fort Worth Office. I was quite upset in fact I even called the police as I felt as though I was robbed!...LOL! No the police in that case couldn't do anything as the store policy was on the back of their receipt and NOT clear at all. The guy started getting smart with me and I simply told him what would you do if I chose a few hundred dollars worth of merchandise and printed you and IOU? So I am to trust in a company that went into bankruptcy to pay me back within 14 business days...Hmmmm? can many of you afford this kind of risk? DONT SHOP AT RADIO SHACK!

Radio shack aka radio shark had a promotion on their web site that if you buy a digital camera you get printer for free after rebate. The camera was little over priced but I though with the printer its not a bad deal. I ordered the camera and printer on tg day.

I received the camera yesterday but not the printer. I received email that the printer order was canceled by radio shark. What a scam. I called them asking for the printer and they said they are out of stock that's why they canceled the order. They don't want to give me a different printer model at the same price and their only option was for me to return the camera.

If they are out of stock then they should not let people order on the web site. They should at least offer an incentive for not honoring their end of the bargain. Never ever buy from radio shack. They are just bunch of scammers.

Never purchase radio shack serice replacement plan it is a big rip off. I purchased a touch screen phone and then one month later the inside of the screen started leaking inside the phone. I purchased the "serice/replacement plan, but they refused to replace the phone per their service plan. The will come up with some crazy excuse like it's not due to wear and tear, but the phone must be defective or it would not have done this and they are simply refusing to replace it. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM A RADIO SHACK AGAIN N E V E R.

Radio Shack installed their battery in my cordless phone and two months later the battery stopped working. I returned to the store and the clerk claimed that the store rep should have advised me to charge the battery for 8 hours before using the phone. She recommended that I replace the old Radio Shack battery with a newer more efficient battery for the low price of $20. I find it outrageous that the company does not stand behind their store brand. Not only will it be the last battery I buy from Radio Shack, the store has lost my business completely.

On Black Friday I purchased a camera for my son for christmas. I had a coupon from the entertainment book that I wanted to use...to my surprise management would not accept the coupon because they said "we were already getting a good deal". Nothing on the coupon or in the store stated that coupons would not be accepted on Black Friday. I did purchase the camera, but I will most likely not buy from Radio Shack again unless I get some response from them regarding this disgraceful "policy".

Thank you for your attention to this matter!

I purchased an AT&T prepaid cell phone on 07/06/08- precisely for the unlimited text messaging feature for $19.99, made feature needed very clear to employee (518 (JRR)) setting up account. He stated he understood but had issues with system, he clearly just wanted to make a sale. I did not purchase any additional airtime minutes besides the $10 minutes with came with phone for free. I took phone used text feature, trusting the emplyee knew what he was doing... Four days later, I was prompted to purchase more minutes, inwhich instinctivly declared and paid for unlimited access. Realizing the service was not correct in set up, i called my voicmail and aswell was prompted to purchase more minutes, when not using any airtime minutes from time of purchase.
The next day on 07/11/08, I took the phone back with reciept, requesting to be set up correctly and adjusted, the employee did not know what to do and could not even access account . He was highly unknowledgable and clearly just wanted to make a sale that day. I then requested a refund, the emplyee only partialy refunded me for the phone but not for services in paid for. I then contacted the store manager (Pat Kenny), and was told situation needed to be sent to a higher authority inorder to totaly refunded, i accepted, allowed amount of time in which he requested and then when calling back, was informed he hadn't requested untill that morning, 07/18/08. He asked to contacted and a later time that day. Accepted and allowed time to pass, when calling back, he denied me a refund and argued unprofressionaly he had no way to refund me. This mistake was made by he and his emplyee, so i allowed to continue to process refund and will contact again. This type of idiocy declared by a store manager and employee is not any help to Radio Shack as a corporation, I highly advise further monitoring of emplyees' and who allowed to be manager. I am so disgusted and will make sure to inform everyone I know, and contact and report to Better Bussiness bureaue.

Over the six months I worked at Radioshack I was told to do as much as I could to help the customer, but at the same time told to sell as much as I possibly could. This became more apparent when I would have to sell Cell phones at the store I worked. When a Cell phone is sold you are required to attach atleast 2 things to the phone. When selling the cell phone my District Manager informed me that I was to tell the customer, no matter what phone they bought, that they needed screen protectors and then to place them under my arm and hide them from site until we rung everything up and scan them without the person seeing. This was my District Manager who informed me to do this, not just my store manager but she extremely encouraged it also. This was followed by being told to attach batteries to things that came with batteries, service plans for things that our $10 or less, head phones for mp3 players that come with them already, so on and so forth. If something was not done to meet any of these requirements and management heard what happened, it would be followed by a lecture and a write up to do "better."

Radio Shack.Com - Black Friday . Bought a computer that was "available" at the time of purchase for $499. It was never shipped and somehow became "unavailable" nine days later and the order was cancelled. EVEN after I called and pointed out that it was still on the website as being available (though for $200 more than I paid for it) and that a sales representative told me they had 500 on hand and could get me one by Christmas, they refused to honor the original sale, saying they could not make up for Black Friday sales errors. The supervisor went so far as to say that they were trying to work out the website so that it read properly that the item was out of stock and that the other sales rep was just wrong that there were any available. Ironic when a tech/electronic company blames tech problems for their attempt to make an extra $200. I second the idea of the company shutting off its customer base with incredibly poor service and what to me seems to be essentially dishonest behavior. I will never do business with them again!

I entered the radio shack location 118 Country Club Dr SW, Blacksburg, VA and asked an employee if they had a specific item. They refered me to another employee who told me they did not have the item. I proceeded to look for the item on my own and found it. While at the register I mentioned that she should not tell me no if she is not sure they have an item. Just say that I am not sure. She took great offence to this and started on a rampage of comebacks - I am just a part time employee, the item you found is new, you are rude...and so on. She then refused to sell me the item and told my 13 year old son that she hopes he does not grow up like his father. My son started to tear. I asked to speak to the store manager and she called him, went in the bcak room, and explianed her story. The manger then asked to talk to me and without asking for my side of the story, asked me to leave the store for being rude to his employee. I then called the police because I felt this was discrimination. They told me the manger had the right to not sell me the item and ask me to leave the store. I did nothing wrong so why would they not sell me the item? I am thinking of taking legal action if I don't get a reasonable response. This is totally unaccepytable and uncalled for. Do you think I have a legal right here?

I would like to make a complaint about Radio Shack. The way they sell their Moble Phones, is underhanded, using false advertising with hided costs as well. I went to purchase a Go phone for my daughter, I knew the phone was 79.99. ( The only reason I chose to purchase the phone at Radio Shack was because this was the only store in town that carried that particular phone.) The phone came with, $30.oo free air time or min. included. When we checked out, they said, "We have to activate the phone before you leave the store." I said, " I can activate it myself, I've done it before." The clerk said, , it's their "policy". Then I found out why. They made me pay an additional $25.00 dollars to get my "free" $30.00 airtime min. Why should I have to pay anything extra! It was never advertised, that there is an activation fee. When I mentioned to the clerk, they should be taking the activation fee, out of the free $30.00 already on the phone, I was told that-- again-- I have to purchase min. to get the free ones... What's free about that? Yes, the phone did have 55min. of airtime on it when we left the store, but I feel this store policy is totally deceitful.

I bought a camera from Radio Shack and also the repair plan the camera started taking out blurry pics and the screen would sometimes turn white so i took in in for repairs, I got back the camera 1 month later when I was told it would only take 2 weeks . One week later I had to return the camera for repairs again because it had the same problem and additional problems it did not have before, it took 1 month again for them to fix it, the day i went to pick up the camera it would not power up Chris a sales person there told me to take it home and charge the battery it should turn on it never did even though it was charged so i returned it back to them and I told them that I di not want the camera because its my 3rd time returning the camera for repairs and that it keeps coming back with problems it did not have . I was told by Martin the manager that he would replace the camera if I do not get it back in 2 weeks, he never did now there is a new manager and she is telling me she can`t do anything about it, I called the service dept many times and I was told they would put in a request for a replacement because I told them I did not want the camera it has problems that it never had before and that its the 3rd time I am bring it back to them, I was told that another request would be placed to replace the camera I keep calling the store where I took the camera since the 5th July and they keep giving me the run around, I have been calling there customer service and I am getting it there also and up to this date I can`t get my camera replaced and I am being told that it all depends on the service dept wheather or not they would replace the camera or fix it . They have had my camera for the past 4 months and no one seems to be able to help me or knows what is going on with my camera and all i am being told is my camera would be at the local radio shack for the past 2 weeks now which it is not and the local store keeps telling me they have not recieved it .I`m tired of this I want a new camera and I will never purchase anything from radio Shack again.

I went to Radio Shack today around noon with my son who has autism (that had to witness what most would consider racism in 2017) to purchase a flash-drive and IPod usb connector. Radio Shack had two associates that were helping other costumers. During my (around 30 minutes) wait I browsed around and found one of the items I planned to purchase. So I continued after browsing and I stood in the cashier line waiting as the associates were still helping other customers with cell phone activations. During this time two more customers entered the store while I was in line. As one associate was wrapping up with the customer's cell phone issues the guy who came in the store while I was in line jumped in front of me and made a purchase. So I raised my hand and said excuse me, the customer and associate both looked at me like I was wrong. The fact that the line jumping customer is White and I'm African-American the thought of Racism seemed very possible. Radio Shack's employee was American-Hispanic which should not provide an excuse for her actions (Well not in the country I served). Since I don't engage in others motives or morals I continued to ask for assistants with my purchase needs after she finished with the line jumping customer. Now finally after all that the associate granted me with her assistants and a frown look? I informed her that I needed a flash drive compatible with windows 7 and the ones I saw didn't say that they were compatible with 7's operating system. Continuing to be nice and professional to the radio Shack employer, she still had an smurkish attitude and frown on her face like I was wasting her time. Every question I asked was replied with "Well that"s why its Expensive". Now I'm a veteran with a degree in Electronic Engineering, and I would like to think I can afford a flash-drive and smart enough to make sure I find the best deal for my needs. Maybe this Radio Shack employer (whom I had to show her where the flash-dives were in her store) judgement differs, is base on appearance or questions helping me to find the right drive irritated her to the core. I still hear it "that's why its expensive", "that's why its expensive". If Radio Shack pulls the tape they will find that this compliant is all fact without question down to the time frame. In all fairness I have to say I've been to this store several times over the years since it was put close to my neighborhood (bank statements to prove it) and the service has been OK, but their recent hire has drove me across town to fill my electronic needs.

I recently purchased 3 NXG® Basix Series Y-Cable with RCA Connectors from RadioShack.com. I made my purchase this past Sunday, Sept. 25. I understand the order does not process until the next business day, which would be Monday the 26th. I paid for two-day express shipping. It is now Thursday Oct. 1 and i still have not received my product. The charge has been made on my card. The Fed-Ex website says it is in transit to my house as I type, but with my understanding I should have received my shipment Tuesday, Wednesday at the latest. Needless to say I won't buy from them again.

Incident
On 7/22 at noon, I went to the Radio Shack in Sebring FL to buy three batteries for portable phones. Store did not have batts in stock. Mgr tried to order from warehouse but not in stock. Mgr placed an order on line and swiped my debit card but claims the screen "went blank." Mgr said my card was NOT charged because the order never went through. I called my bank a few hours later and a $48.12 hold had been placed on my account. Called RS Mgr back, he said the hold would be released in 24-48 hours. It's now 152 hours later on 7/28 and the hold is still on my account. My bank says RS has not released the funds. I don't have any batteries and no order exists in their system. THIS is the reason I don't shop at Radio Shack. They take your money and there's no order number to reference so you can get a refund so everytime you talk to someone, you have to provide your credit card number so they can "find" the order that doesn't exist in their system! "Electronics Leader?" Are you kidding me?

I attempted to purchase a prepaid cell phone from Radio Shack. I was told I had to show the clerk my ID to enter my information for the cell phone. I reminded the clerk it was pre paid and I didn't want my information placed into his computer, which he said was for the phone. I told him no and he said I could not purchase the phone (even though I was paying with a credit card) the clerk then went on to tell me it was California law to show ID for all pre paid cell phone purchases. I found this is a lie and he was only attempting to add another person to Radio Shacks list. I was denied the purchase of the phone and told he would require a copy of my license if I changed my mind. I was shocked and I have to let people know what practices Radio Shack is using, I will NEVER shop there again. Also the clerk took down the advertisement which included free minutes on the phone when he could not figure out how to ring it up, all round horrible experience that day.

I went to the Radio Shack store in my town on 2 separate occasions looking for an odd AC adapter for a indoor fountain. I brought the adapter itself in the first time. The manager who's name is Chris, took a look at the adapter, looked through his various adapter plugs and stated he didn't have anything that would work.

He then went on to the next customer. Okay that wasn't a problem as I figured I would just have to keep looking. A month or so later, I came back in with the actual fountain piece that the adapter plug would fit into. Once again, I was "helped" by Chris. He pointed me to the various adapter plugs he had on one wall. He said if I didn't find a plug that would work, then I would have to just check elsewhere since they didn't have what I needed. Well I didn't find anything obviously and went on my way. Once again, no harm, no foul. Tonight was a completely different story though. I went into the store again for something different but this time my boyfriend was with me. Chris was the one who asked if we needed help and my boyfriend told him what we were looking for. After finding what we came for, my boyfriend mentioned to Chris that he was looking for an adapter for a tabletop fountain. Chris went to the adapter plug wall with my boyfriend to help him find the correct plug. I went out to my SUV and got the adapter that I had brought in on my previous visit so they could find an adapter with the correct voltage, which they did. Then Chris proceeded to go to a big storage unit within the store and search for the right plug for the adapter. He looked for about 10 minutes and came up with a plug, . but since I wasn't sure it would work with the fountain, I went back out to my SUV again and got the part of the fountain I had brought in before when I was by myself.

Amazingly the plug that Chris found fit perfectly. He spent about 15 minutes with my boyfriend to make sure he found what he was after, yet when I came in with the same exact requests and same pieces in hand on 2 different visits I was quickly sent on my way without anything more than a cursory look at the parts. I am looking for the Customer Service Number for Radio Shack tomorrow. It may do me no good, but I don't appreciate being discriminated against because I'm a female.

I went to the radio shack in francis scott key mall, frederick, md to buy itunes gift cards on 04/13/2017. After one employee rang them up, I gave them my radio shack gift cards. That employee went inside and brought another employee outside whose name is joey. Then joey started asking me what is my name and my information which I gave him. Then he asked me what is my home address which I refused to give him since I don’t think it is needed for a transaction paid by gift cards. I asked to speak to the manage on duty. Amanda, the manager, came out and explained to me that something fraud is going on and radio shack needs to verify all gift card transactions. I said that’s fine and gave her my gift cards so that she can do any verification she wanted. Amanda called somebody and told me she waited for him to call her back. After waiting for 15 minutes, nothing happened. No one called her back and she did not try to do anything. I told her that I was not going to waste my time to wait endlessly to be able to spend my gift cards. She just simply ignored and let me know I could not use my legitimate gift cards. Both the manager and employees are rude and lack of customer service orientation. I am going to file a complaint to radio shack corporate and bbb.

Horrible service at Radio Shack store in Brookfield, WI. Manager and employee made scornful faces and unprofessional body language while I tried to return some products the same day.

I bought about 7 items in that I returned 3. In which 2 of them had bad reviews, so I never opened them and 1 product was bad quality. Offcourse I don't enjoy making these useless trips to buy and return.

The employee and manager seemed very irritated that I'm returning the products. And whined about it. And the arrogant tone of the manager ticked me, we went into unnecessary heated dialog. He refused to take the item back and said I would have to return at another store.

I have never in my life even argued with any store guys, my family is amazed that someone could get me annoyed.
Anyways I regret what has happened, but at teh sametime wanted to share this crappy customer service.

The Manager and the staff were very unprofessional, and definetely my family would never step in that store again.

I am a preexisting Sprint customer who decided to use my full upgrade for a cell phone from Radioshack.com. I paid the shipping and handling fee of $14.99 and received the phone in two days. The phone which looked new and broke four days after using it. I immediatedly called Radioshack to inform the phone was broken and they informed me to send it back via Fedex to their return dept. They asked if I wanted to exchange it for another cell phone, which I agreed. I packed everything the phone came with(manual, charger etc.) including the packing material. I scheduled a pick up for Fed Ex to get the return package. The return was received today and I get a email saying that I would be charged $50.00 for a damaged box. WTF? I immediately called them to explain how was the box damaged and why was I being charge $50.00! The box it came with and shipping box was intact and not damaged whatsoever when i returned it. They couldn't explain how the box was damaged and said that the inspector noted this. I demanded to speak to higher management and canceled my exchange(why take the risk of being charged another $50.00 for a Cell Phone Box on if that phone breaks too ?) My sister also informed me that a couple of years ago she thought she purchased a new phone from Radioshack that also broke...turns out it was a refurbished phone!IF ANYONE IS THINKING OF USING RADIOSHACK FOR UPGRADE OR PURCHASING A CELL PHONE, DON'T BOTHER! You will get stiffed!

I called the local Radio Shack with a question about payment methods and was basically laughed at by the manager - in two separate phone calls. He was incredibly rude and pompous, so obviously I'll never patronize that store again! So then I use MY money to call 411 to get their customer service line, and get YET ANOTHER jerk on the phone! I misunderstood his mumbling about connecting me to some other line and he was VERY rude in his response. I finally got him to connect me to a customer complaint number - and it's a BOGUS NUMBER! He sent me to a line that rang about 20 times before disconnecting me. So I couldn't even complain to Radio Shack about their rude manager because the "customer care" line is a SHAM! I will NEVER go back to that store again!

I bougt my son a prepaid cell phone from Radio Shack. I was in the store for over 35 mins. The employee of this store had to acctivate the phone. I told him that I wanted a text plan. (that's all my son does). What 14 year old doesn't? When the employee of Radio Shack acctivated the phone he acctivated it as a normal acctivation. My son has been charged 15 cents a min. for every incoming and out going text message. My son said to me today that he received a text message from the carrier of his prepaid plan that he is on a phone plan not a text plan. I called the carrier they told me that I would have to take it up with the store who acctivated the phone. So I went to the store where I bought his phone and explained my problem they said that was the way the other employee had set the phone up and I would have to spend 20. dollars to have it switched over to the original plan that I went in there for. The employee of the store said sorry I can not help you. I am here writing this review to everyone to tell them that when you go to Radio Shack becarful of what you are getting yourself into. TO watch everything that is being done on there computers. They employee's do not know what they are doing. It is amazing in the economy that we are in that good people can not find a job but companies hire people that do not know how to do the job. I'll tell you I would have been fired from my job if I did not do it correctly.

Radio Shack had advertised a laptop on Thanksgiving online for $499.00 after rebate a Sony Vaio Red Color. I ordered the laptop shortly after 12:00 a.m. and my order said completed and is being processed. Well after about 4 days I called to see when I could expect shipment. I was told that they had a "processing order" delay and to just try back. Two days later I got a package of a few of the items I received but not the laptop. I called once again and was told hmmm can't tell but Im sure you will receive it soon". Two days later called again and was told "oh that order has been cancelled". I asked by who?Their response was "we were unable to fulfill the order at that time and at that price". So basically was showed that my order was in fact placed on Thanksgiving, was ordered, and was being processed with a total reflective of laptop included in order. No where at that time was I advised that it was backordered or sold out or anything. The response was well thats our policy maam" If we can't fulfil it we have the right to cancel. I told him I was out shortly after that order was placed ALL NIGHT for black friday and could have had 100 laptops at the same if not better prices but I thought I had one and Radio Shack had me under that impression. This is by far the worst form of business i have ever seen. My daughter was so disappointed as she waited all that time for it to arrive as she was paying with her own money. I was told by a local Radio Shack salesman that there are thousands of people this happened to on Thanksgiving not only for this item but others including a small camcorder. What a Shame...Maybe a class action lawsuit will make them change their cheating ways.. Oh and by the way they do have these laptops in stock as I have checked online and in the store!
