Queen Sleigh Bed / Foot board has split again where side rails connect to foot board

Purchased this rather expensive bed & mattress set in 1999. (Total purchase was $ 3, 831.94) Had the sleighbed for not even a month and had to return the "Foot board" due to a manufacturing error in the workmanship of the wood. The wood was splitting at the foot bases/stands.

We are having the same problem again where a large portion of the wood has split away from the side rails. The bedframe does not get moved as it is sitting on wood floors in a large bedroom. When the bedframe was assembled it was also equipped with pads under feet so if the bed would have to be moved it would slide on the floor freely.

We have had several manufacturing problems with both bedframe and mattress set purchased from Sears Whole Home in Richmond, B.C. Canada. We have had no customer service from Sears for our mattress problems so we went to another Store to purchase a replacement mattress set. After calling your "Customer Service" center this morning I was given the same reply, "You are out of luck and to try fixing the problem ourselves" or through Sears at a cost. I fully realize that there has been some time lapse between the time we purchased the bed and todays complaint however, what happened to Sears Customer Satisfaction.

My husband use to purchase all his tools and shop supplies (routers, saws, etc) from Sears but has seen poor quality and service so now has gone elsewhere to replace or purchase other equipment. He is an aircraft mechanic and sidelines as a carpenter/floor layer/construction worker. That is a lot of tools to purchase/replace or other. We do not purchase clothing, children's bikes, Furniture or anything from Sears anymore and I have discontinued my Credit Card with your company due to poor service and poor quality. I thought that when we purchased this "Nice Looking" bed that it would last us at least 10 years but the quality does not match the look. Quite honestly it is a 3 dressed up like a 9.

I will never use Sears again. If I can go to a "cheap" store like Ikea to get Satisfaction why would I shop at Sears. Wonder where your customers are going maybe look at the junk you are selling. And I thought Ikea had junk!!!
