Purely Creative scrap card scammers and criminals

Despite European court ruling purely Creative are still scamming people.
I was scammed last year by their cards. Thought I had won with three matching symbols and after an extremely long 10min tapped phone record from the number on the card they told be I had won the biggest price a holiday for two in the Mediterranean.

I send in the card and after more than three months I contacted them by email and these scammers just continued their crime. The "all inclusive hotel" turned out to be a cheap Airbnb like apartment in a deprived area of the town, for the days we wanted it the cost where doubled and we had to pay for both flights, room, food and everything.

The support service jobs where just to drag you around until you lose the will to live and stop emailing them.

Despite the European ruling these criminals are still scamming people.

Beware there are criminals!

Purely Creative Scratch cards

Back in 2013 I won experiences from the scratch cards, I went on some spa days, meals out, free hairdressing appointments up the west end. I had some that I was waiting to book and then had a letter from purely creative saying that they had parted company with the suppliers of the experiences and they were going to get another company to supply the gifts and they would be in contact. I have contacted them several times and have been told that I will get my prizes. Recently I was asked to send details of all my outstanding experiences and was told it has been passed on to the Managing Director but another 2 weeks has passed and no news has come.
They do not depute that they owe me the prizes but how can I force them to honour them?

I do have strings of emails from them but not sure how to attach them.

Purely Creative Prize Scratch Card

Several weeks a go we found a scratch card inside of a Radio Times magazine and subsequently found we found we had won a prize ( a trip to Tenerife) my wife then texted off (at a considerable cost) a code and received a return text acknowledging the code.

We then sent the aforementioned card off along with a stamp and self addressed envelope.

My wife some days later then received a telephone call acknowledging that yes indeed we had won a prize and that the relative documents would be sent out to us. To date we have received nothing nor heard anything. We have contacted the promotions company a number of times by e-mail but still no reply.

I have tried to look into this on line and have found a number of people saying the whole thing is a scam.

Could someone please look into this for me, also is it false advertising? If so is there anything we can do about it? and why are they aloud to put these cards into magazine that people buy of the shelve everyday.

Kind Regards
David McKearney

Dear Mr McKearney,

We were sorry to read your complaint, but as you included your name we were able to investigate the matter and identify the claim referred to. According to our records, the sequence of events is as follows:

• Earlier this year, your wife took part in the Purely Creative ‘£1 Million Lucky Bag’ game, which offered a choice of three routes of entry – by text, by telephone or by mail to our Freepost address. All three routes and the charges applicable to the text and telephone options were set out clearly. Your wife opted to enter using the text service.

• Your wife’s entry, entitling her to a week’s luxury resort accommodation in Tenerife, was received together with a postage stamp and a self addressed envelope, which must have been sent in error as participants are asked to send only their winning ticket to the Freepost address. Nowhere on the promotion is it stated or suggested that a stamp or SAE should be enclosed with prize claims.

• In March 2016, within the prescribed timeframe for processing claims, we wrote to your wife to confirm the validity of her claim and provided details of how to book her week in Tenerife.

• When we had not had a response to our letter by the beginning of May 2016, we sent her a second letter, reiterating the instructions for booking her week at the Tenerife resort. We also emailed your wife, and on a number of occasions telephoned the contact number she had provided and left a voicemail message.

• On 19th May your wife replied by email and apologised for not responding to the prize information letter and for the difficulty we had had in contacting her. Our Customer Services Manager then spoke with your wife, who confirmed your requirements and the preferred timing of your forthcoming holiday. These details were promptly communicated to the resort reservations team and your booking is currently being processed.

We would like to take this opportunity to assure you that all Purely Creative promotions are 100% genuine, as reflected in the feedback we receive from regular players. You can visit our customer blog (www.blog.purelycreative.com), our website (www.purelycreative.com/winners) and our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/clubcreative) for the latest participant reviews and comments.

As far as we were aware, your wife was satisfied with our handling of her claim. However, if you still believe you have cause for complaint, we’d be grateful if you could contact us directly in order that we can understand the nature of your grievance and seek to resolve it. Otherwise, we very much hope that you and your wife enjoy your week in the sun.

Yours sincerely,

Purely Creative Scam

Firstly it is an obvious one (always read the small print), and one which I would not usually fall for...but, they got lucky. You scatch (which arrived in The Weekend TV guide, that arrives with a weekend news paper)the card. They tell you have won and that you must text to find out the details of what has been won and how to claim. Many texts need to be sent.It is a hefty fee for sending a few texts. The winnings just cover the cost of the texts and the stamp they request in order to send the so called winnings. It was about 2/3 months ago and I have still not recevied the funds.

It is a negliable sum. In oder the pursue it on the overpriced number would be throughing good money after bad and I suspect a complete waste of time and energy.

The name of the compampany Purely Creative...an oxymoron. It really does not get much less creative than that .

I am not pursuing the claim but want the world to know about it (so others are alerted;at least something good can come out of it), especially as it arrives along with a respectable wrapper; the Weekend Papers.
