PuppySpot Group breeders and customers beware

The reason I really wanted to use PuppySpot to place my English Bulldog puppies was they are sold "Pet Only." This way I feel they are going to families that really want them as family members not large breeders.

PuppySpot works hard to make a customer happy. You are paying thousands more than what myself as a breeder sell these puppies for outside. I offer a one year guarantee. PuppySpot holds the breeder accountable for the health of the puppy. I fully understand this but if there are any issues PuppySpot comes right back to the breeder. They aren't offering you something special on top of what I'm willing to do. I do stand behind my puppies.

What they don't realize is they also work for the breeder. They have a mindset that we're here because our puppies can't sell otherwise. In order for me to furnish you with healthy, playful and excellent bloodlines I put a lot of work and spend a lot of money. To have quality dogs they really need to work with a breeder. Not all puppies have the same excellent bloodlines. Please research the heritage of the puppy you're considering. There are some English Bulldog puppies on their site I wouldn't ever consider buying. A purebred dog doesn't always mean your getting the best bloodline available.

It appears everyone works in a different office. There is no organization and no one knows what the other person has done or said. My last puppy was supposed to be at the airport at 10 am. A late night email changed this to 6 am. I wouldn't even have known this but I happen to look at my email around 4. I call to double check this because it's a 45 minute drive to the airport. I was there at 6 am just to find out it was 10. Now I'm looking at a 4 hour wait. They are not honest. The flight chaperone called me to say she missed her flight and she couldn't make it there in time for the 10 am flight. They told me she did not miss her flight. The chaperone called me directly to tell me so.

At the health check if there are any health issues or cosmetic issues they cancel the sale. Ok I can understand that but sometimes it's a simple issue that can be remedied. They cancelled the sale then called me to say the buyer backed out. That was just a flat out lie. Why not work with the breeder and discuss what the real issue. They just simply cannot be trusted.

If you want a quality dog for thousands less start looking online for breeders. Go to AKC Marketplace, look at FB Clubs especially for Bulldogs. Ask for references on breeder. Make sure you get a health guarantee. In my opinion try to find small in home breeders not large kennels. I'm not going to breed bulldogs if they aren't inside laying around my feet. If you do look to buy from a kennel find out about their facilities. There a definitely good ones where the owners truly care and became breeders for the love of the breed.

0 Votes Puppyspot is great if you are looking for a frustrating experience exasperated by people who really don't want to sell dogs and the worse customer service imaginable. Here's my tail... After losing our dog of 14 years, I found a dog on Puppyspot. We closed the deal on a Saturday and I was told the dog would likely be sent on Thursday. They asked...

PuppySpot Group Puppy Mills

I found what I thought was the perfect puppy for us on Puppyspot. They would not let me talk to the breeder or even tell me anything about the breeder so I could do some research.

I should have listened to my inner voice but the puppy looked perfect. She got here with Giardia. The breeder was listed online as a puppy mill type place.

The puppy was never socialized at all and was kept in a barn with many dozens of other dogs and ignored until someone purchased her. To this day she cowers and runs and hides from anything. Golden Retrievers simply do not do that. They are people friendly dogs.

I have talked to people who got other pups from the same litter and they all report the same problems.

A reputable purebred breeder would socialize the puppy from very young and not leave them to fend for themselves among a barn full of other dogs.

PuppySpot Group fraud

This company is legitimately troubling, and I highly recommend no one try to adopt a puppy through their service.
Some things to keep in mind:
1) They operate in a way that hides the identity of the breeders they obtain their dogs from. This is deeply troubling, because any and all legitimate breeders in the use have to be registered and obtain a USDA license number (which means they have regular inspections that ensure the dogs are not being housed in appropriately/are not puppy mills). This is public information and anyone adopting a dog from a breeder has the right to have access to the breeder's records through this ID number. PuppySpot will NOT give this to you. This is not to protect the breeders, but to protect themselves. If it becomes apparent that they do not have this ID number because the breeders are not registered, or if do have it and have knowledge of bad practices by the breeder, then people will not adopt from them. This happened to my brother. They finally gave him the breeder's USDA ID number and it came out that the breeder had multiple infractions against them and may not have had an inspection in 5 years. Their "no puppy mill promise" is an outright lie.
2) They do not provide any written and signed contracts to ensure the protection of the buyer. They have next no accountability for whatever happens during your transaction with them and you have next to no legal backing to protect you if and when your dog arrives a different breed, is sick, or if just doesn't show up at all. You're out thousands of dollars. If you request a contract, they will simply redirect you to their terms of use on their website and ignore any further inquiries. Which bring-s me to my next point.
3) "Taylor M." (email address is [protected]@puppyspot.com, phone number is [protected], ext. 266) will outright ignore you if you ask questions that you have every legal right to ask. This is not only an atrocious and unprofessional business practice, it is also a huge red flag. If your request any information that will support your rights as a buyer of a puppy that is the breed promise, of proper health, and has documentary proof that it does not come from a puppy mill, Taylor will completely cut-off contact with you.
I end this reiterating that no person who loves dogs, believes in protecting themselves, and who does not want to support the puppy mills that this business is protecting, should contact this service to adopt. My brother is the type of person they take advantage of—the eager, non-legal savvy, impatient, and relatively shallow. He paid them without consulting an attorney and without signing a contract ensuring that their promises would be kept. His dog is due to arrive in July—and I have no hope that the dog will arrive in the state that he anticipates. (It will either be sick, a breed they're passing off as the one he requested, will arrive the breed he requested and healthy but will become sickly further down the road, or will not arrive at all.) When that happens, as I've told him, he will be optionless and this terrible service will continue their bad business practices and continue funding puppy mills.
Don't be my brother. Don't order from these people. If you choose to contact them, protect yourself and get paperwork, the breeder's USDA ID number, and a signed contract. If they choose not to provide you with this information that should be public, you'll know why.

PuppySpot Group my puppy

Hi,

I bought a female German Rottweiler in March of 2018. I'm told she was 8 weeks by then. Since the day she has arrived, she has two UTIs, kennel cough, Gardias, hookworm, and whipworm. This is all before she even turns 4 months old. The breeder is not complying with my request to be given medical history records of her parents of anything that is genetic, hereditary, or any illnesses they had especially the female mother while she was pregnant. We also have been denied a certificate to be given by the breeder as well for Hip certificate since it runs in the Rottweilers genes. We need you to request those records for us please and we want to be refunded the full amount of what we paid for including the airport fees. This is unnecessary, unfair, stressful, and has impacted us deeply financially, emotionally, and mentally. Worst of all, the poor puppy is suffering. We have saved every document of every vet visit she has been to since March 19th, the day we got her. We can't find any record of her in the system being a registered legal breeder, nor can find the puppy ID in the database. It shows it is pending. I am concerned they are associated with a puppy mill which is well known for abuse, neglect, and infested health issues. We want to be reimbursed full amount of what we paid, and reimbursements of vet medical bills that we had to spend in two months alone which was over 1, 000 dollars. Jasmine (Hope) is in system as pending. What bothers me is that Gracie (mom) wasn't registered until 10/11/17 and jasmine ((her name was hope we changed it to jasmine Hope) was only born 2 months later so either the breeder only recently got Gracie or registered her for the sudden want to breed her. I am disappointed and appalled by the withheld information we have the legal rights to not being given to us. It is shady and unprofessional. (Please excuse my grammar since I am using an iPhone to submit a claim)

PuppySpot Group bait and switch — tail no tail. I notified puppy spot of this and they explained, that yes the breader had docked it. no one has contacted me.

March 22, 2018
pet number 541676
Puppy's tail was docked and I didn't request that nor was I informed of this mutation. I would have chosen another doodle. The photos on the web site did not show a docked tail, nor is that what all other doodles have.

What breeder docks a tail and doesn't tell the customer? The reps in Puppy Spot customer service explained that they had spoken with her and seemed to refer to notes of some type.

I want a refund on my credit card.

PuppySpot Group brand new puppy in hospital

I bought a Labradoodle from PuppySpot a week ago. She arrived with a cough. As required by PuppySpot, I took her to the Vet and had her examined for her Guarantee Cert. She had hookworm, Giardia, and Bronchitis. She was put on several medications. After a week she was coughing non stop and is now in the hospital

Interestingly when you make an inquiry about a puppy you get inundated with emails and calls. Make a complaint about health. Crickets...

I am a dog breeder that had worked with Puppy Spot for a few years. while I as a breeder work myself to the bone to produce healthy puppies, ethically, long 18 hour days, sleepless nights, no vaccations, catering to every client request and having no free time for anything, Puppy Spot comes along and makes anywhere from $1000-$2000 per puppy while doing...

PuppySpot Group purebred puppies

Luckily, I did not buy a puppy from them. In particular, I was looking at Pembroke Welsh Corgis. I was appalled at the pictures...so many looked sickly.

They tout "responsible breeders." So many of the pups were very poor examples of the breed. Wrong coloring, wrong markings and wrong eye color. A blue-eyed corgi is a serious breeding flaw and is a major disqualification. Merle markings are acceptable in the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, but not for the Pembroke.

Buyer beware! The exorbitant prices bear out that these so-called breeders are in it for the money, not for the health and well-being of these precious animals.

Shame on them!

PuppySpot Group my sad story

I read the sad post about the deceased dog. My story is similar. I bought a $3000 Yorkie from Purebred Breeders now called Puppy Spot. Changing their name because of the class action lawsuit brought against the owner. I got my little Yorkie in a crate shipped from Texas. He was supposed to be 12 weeks old but my vet said he was 4 weeks old, He was very ill when he arrived. Shivering and vomiting. He also had Parvo. He died of that deadly disease less than 6 months after arrival. Please learn from our sad stories not to buy a holiday Puppy from this place. If people stop purchasing these puppies they will shut down. Or the owner will just change the name and start over again. Horrible internet puppy mill.

PuppySpot Group pet sales/internet puppy sales

I bought a Yorkie Puppy from Purebred Breeders which is now called Puppy Spot. I saw cute photos of the dog and read the breeders information on the site. He was 12 weeks old etc. When he arrived in a crate from Texas he was shaking, covered in urine and feces. My vet said he was 4 weeks old not 12 weeks old. He looked like the photos but not exactly. I knew he was close so I don't really think much about this at the time. I now see that the photos on the site and the puppy I received were different. I was far more concerned about his health. He had Giardia, a severe ear infection and Parvo. He died of Parvo within a year of arrival. I spent thousands of $$$ and loved this little dog. Please don't support this terrible Puppy Mill. They are only interested in how much money they can get.

PuppySpot Group internet puppy mill — please read this!!!

This company which goes under the name Puppy Spot and Purebred Breeders. Here is my sad story. I purchased a Shih-Tzu puppy from this company. He cost over $3000. He was shipped by the breeder in Texas. He arrived covered in urine, vomit and feces. He was shaking, chilled and ill. He had Gardia, an ear infection and possible Parvo. I was told he was 12 weeks old, but my vet said he was 8-9 weeks old and should never have been removed from his mother. I loved little Toby and nursed him back to health. He seemed fine except for some separation anxiety which you can understand. I got him training and gave him lots of love. Over time Toby only got worse. After a year he would howl, scream and he ran away 5 times. He bit other dog. I still kept him but I contacted Puppy Spot many times. They said they had a re-homing program but that is not true. They blamed me for his behavior. Nice to blame the customer — real positive customer service. Anyway, finally I found an older couple to take him. I told them the issues but they were happy to have him. They sleep with him, shower with him and love him.in any case please learn from my story, I spent thousands of $ on Toby. No one who works at Puppy Spot or Purebred Breeders handles or sees the dogs. They are a third party that collects the money. Any breeder — good or bad — posts photos and descriptions of the puppies. So, please avoid this place. Avoid the heartbreak! Lets together put a stop to these terrible PUPPY MILLS!

I bought a $3000 Shih-Tzu puppy from Purebred Breeders/ Puppy Spot. He came from Texas in a crate. He was covered in urine, feces and vomit. He was supposed to be 12 weeks old but my vet said he was 8 weeks old. He had severe illnesses. He had Gardia, a severe ear infection and Parvo. My vet treated him and after many months he was almost healthy. The separation anxiety increased. It got so bad that I could not take a shower without Toby banging his head against the bathroom door and crying, whining and yelping. I put him through training and with time and love he was OK. But, the separation anxiety got worse. I walked him twice a day and he would attack other animals, and I had to let him sleep with me or he would bark all night. I called Puppy Spot over 15 times. They told me they had a re-homing program but this is a lie. In any case I asked to at least pay for some of the now $8000 for his numerous illnesses. They said everything wrong with the puppy was my fault. Of course--blame the customer. In any case I found a lovey older couple that does shower and sleep with Toby.

I would Like to thank all the wonderful people that fought together to shut down Purebred Breeders! Now we just have to do the same thing with Puppy Spot! I know we can do this. The same man owns both companies.

Lets stop this horrible Puppy Mill. It is nothing but an Internet Puppy Mill. Together we can send a message that Internet Puppy MILLS are not a place to buy a puppy. WE can shut them down too.

Thanks everyone for your help in this--NO More Internet Puppy Mills.

PuppySpot Group puppy

I purchased a Shih-Tzu puppy 2 years ago from the company which was at that time called Purebreed breeders. I kept this beautiful dog for 2 years. Paid for extensive training and loved him. He became aggressive and difficult and at this point had extreme separation anxiety. I could not take a shower without the dog screaming and crying. He was emotionally sick. My vet stated that the dog had been taken from his mother and liter mates way too early. So, to make a long sad story short. I told all this to Puppy spot and they said they have a re-homing department that would take back the dog. Of course this was never told to me and not in their extensive contract. I found a older man and woman to take little Toby--they love him and are retired and will spoil him. Long story short Puppyspot sells very young dogs to anyone who can pay them/ Avoid like the plaque.

PuppySpot Group employment

They do not care about their employees. They have fired some of their very good people over customer complaints and misunderstandings. They have horrible people in leadership roles with no back bone and no comprehension of actual policies and procedures.

Their most loyal employees are practically all gone and they keep leaving. The ceo is never around as he is in ca and has another location there.

Big time lack of leadership and I do not foresee them in business for much longer.

PuppySpot Group german shepherd puppy

I am a California resident and purchased a puppy from Missouri. I saw a picture of a German Shepherd, claim to be 8 weeks old, house trained.

Upon receiving the puppy at Los Angeles International Airport, the experience caused my adrenaline to soar.

Now after 4 months I am ready to sell or take her to the Animal Shelter. I have fallen three times, both inside . because she does not move when I enter or exit a room and she blocks me inside, in my attempts to take her outside to relieve herself, and inside because she does not know how to move out of the way to allow me to enter or exit a room. She is neither house trained or lease trained. My vet thinks she was older than 8 weeks of age when taken for the first vet visit. She appears to have a mental health issue.

The best word for this dog is "Feral".

I feel so foolish for trusting a web site to provide accurate information about this "puppy". I am 70 years old and was looking for a dog to train as a service dog. For my well being, this dog will eventually have to go in order to prevent a serious injury. I have arthritis of the spine and I cannot continue to fall without having a severe injury..

Do your research. Missouri is notorious for puppy mills. And that poor dog. She is a living creature, not a suitcase. You felt foolish for trusting a website? Why not feel stupid for believing an 8 week old puppy is 'house-trained?' I am hoping, for the sake of the dog, that you are faking such a feral attitude but, if not, give the dog to a responsible rescue. In the meantime -
look where you are going.

PuppySpot Group my cocker spaniel puppy at 4 1/2 months looks like a springer spaniel

Her nose is much longer than a cocker. have you sold me the wrong breed? She's growing very fast, long legs, big feet, weighs 11 1/2 pounds, and is very aggressive. She does not look like the pictures of her mother and father. Mother is blond, father is red, and my puppy is black with white feet, nose and chest. She was just 5.2 lbs when she arrived 7/14/17. Of course, after all this time, I've bonded with her and don't want her returned, but I think this what I believe is true, there should be a very big refund.

PuppySpot Group guarantee breach contract three weeks ago I purchased a golden from puppy spot

Three weeks ago I purchased a golden from puppy spot I paid $2, 950 for the dog $399 for shipping. They guaranteed the dog was from a breeder and guaranteed 100% from nose to tail period 2 days later I took it to my vet as for the per requirements found my vet said the dog head crystal that cost me $285 I put a claim in to puppy spot in which they said they review it and reimburse me I never heard back from them I had to return the dog back to my vet to see if the antibiotics had cleared up the crystals which it had that that was another hundred dollars to my vet to treat this dog that was supposedly healthy from nose to tail. Wrong I also called them back at puppy spot and filed another claim i've yet to be reimbursed from puppy spot. I called the breeder that puppy spot. The golden from and she claims that there has been no issues with any of her litter. Buyers beware! The dog, still has crystals in his urine. The sheath of his penis is draining green discharge! I recently prior to purchasing stetson from this organization, I lost a gilden 6 months old. Now I get another golden n it has crystals? I have not seen a nickel reimbursement for monies I paid out, because they sent me a sick dog! After a year of having a dog purchased thru puppyspot they start to prorate from the $ amount you paid originally for the dog.

People, go to the AKC site and look up the breed's characteristics before you look at all the Puppyspot puppies. ie length of body, shape of head, length of muzzle, color of eyes, weight, height, shape of legs (to avoid buying dogs that are knock knees, or lame. Puppyspot animals are pet grade puppies, with really noticeable faults, and should not be selling for $2400. Really a joke to think people are scammed into believing the dogs are top of the line show quality when the short legged dogs have long legs, pups with wide apart ears that should be half the width apart, etc. The videos are sad, the puppies have no life in them, they sort of stand there and look at the toys like they have never seen one before.

While on the AKC site look at the section of puppies for sale by AKC breeders. Look at the prices you foolish people who buy from Puppyspot. On AKC SITE pet quality pups sell for 1/3 the price of the Puppyspot puppies and have good characteristics of the breed. $3200 vs $1000. Both parents were top of the line in temperament and structure. You are buying directly from the breeders. The people producing Puppyspot dogs are backyard breeders and puppy mill breeders who breed poor quality dogs to poor quality dogs and get poor representations of the breed. Don't be a sucker, buy from AKC breeders who proudly show their dogs.

Paying more for a dog does not mean a better dog. Especially when the dog is a mixed breed and makes guarantees about no shedding etc.
