Publix Super Markets refused entry with service dog after hurricane irma

Store at Coral Springs, FL refused me and my daughter entry immediately after Hurricane Irma on Sep 11th. We told the manager "Mike" the little Yorkie my daughter was holding was a service dog. He told us to take the dog outside. It was 90+ degrees outside and we were trying to get emergency supplies after we had evacuated from the hurricane. We did not have papers. The dog IS registered as a service dog. I'm very upset at how we were treated. There was no way I was going to leave my daughter and/or the dog out in the 90+ degree heat. We went through a very traumatic time with the hurricane. The actions of this store are appalling to me.

Publix Super Markets Cashier Service

I am not satisfied with today's purchase in the Publix. The cashier is not as nice as others. When I paid for my stuff, her attitude to me makes me feel discriminated. She didn't talk to me, even one word, no smiles on her face, just stared at me and my friend. I saw she greeting to the customers before me. I don't know what happened. She is the worst cashier I've met. Her name tag is Mary.

Publix Super Markets the female night manager

Re: Publix at Promenade at Silver Palm (Store # 1247). 23300 SW 112th Ave Homestead, FL [protected].
I came in the store at about 10: 20pm. Happily, I walked through the store picking up several can food goods, HealthyChoice soup cans and a few items from the deli selection. As soon as I am done at about 10:40 pm I noticed there was only one line open with the last customer near the entrance to the frozen food aisle. I took a look at customer service and happily I saw just two customers, a female with well over more 5 items in her basket, for the cashier, a young girl, had just finished ringing her up. The gentlemen infront of me had about 4 items in his green basket. After she finished ringing him up, I placed my green basket on the counter, which was filled with several soup cans and deli items (popcorn shrimp and macaroni and cheese and potatoe salad). Without greeting me, the cashier rudely said the limit is five items. I was shocked and I tried to explain to her that I have been shopping at this Public since the first day it opened, i understand the rule but the only reason I came here was because there was only two customers in this line and the other line was backed to the grocery aisle. I said, now it looks like your manager must have just opened two more lines, but that was not the case when I stood in your line. She rudely said, the rule is five items. I said Ms., I am very tired, we are in the middle of getting a major hurricane, but she said again the rule is five items. I asked to speak to the manager. The manager came over and I explained to her that this cashier only agreed to ring up 5 of my items. The manager sided with the cashier and said the rule is five items, but I will ring you up this time. I Saud what ate you kidding me, we ate in the middle of a hurricane, the store is almost closing, n o one was in line except the two people in front of me and the gentleman who had just walked up behind me. I was so astonished at the lack of customer service and friendliness that I have grown to love about Publix for over 20 years, that I told them, you know what, you can keep the items, and walked out the store leaving my filled green basket on the counter.

I am strongky contemplating never shopping at Publix again. I am so so disappointed about this experience, I am disgusted at the lack of professionalism and lack of sound judgement on the part of that manager. I did not appreciate or like the manner in which your manager spoke to me. I hope this never happens again

Publix Super Markets termination of employment from publux #229

I was a Deli employee for 3 years at Publix store # 229. Employee # [protected]
I was on the line working on On Line Orders and customers as well. It was a normal very busy Saturday morning. A bakery employee was walking threw with 2 racks of Cuban bread and grazed my R shoulder. She replied with a low "excuse me" and continued on her way. I simply asked for an apology, wile another bakery employee said " if your looking for an apology, don't hold your breath. I simply asked her again and she did not respond. I continued working until I saw the Bakery manager and I did tell him that she grazed me with her two racks of bread and then did state "if she does that again I'm gonna punch her in the face." The statement was in no way HOLE HEARTED. But I knew as soon as I made this statement that I was in the wrong. The bakery manager told my Deli manager what I had said. She later took me aside and asked if I had said this statement. I told her that I did make the statement, but it was out of frustration ONLY. She then did tell me I would be written up, and most likely be suspended for my actions. I continued to work and do production. Later that morning she took me aside and said " you are suspended until further notice, clock out now and go home" I told her I was very sorry for what I had said. She then stated " its out of my hands now, HR is involved at this point.
On Monday the 7th of August I returned to work to speak with the store manager, who did inform me of my Termination from Publix store #229

I am asking to please have my case reviewed so see if there is any possibility of relocation. I have been with Publix for 3 years and I am a very hard worker. I feel that we all make mistakes in life, and mine had not been the greatest. Dealing with my Mothers Heart attack in January and other major financial struggles. I hope that you can find it in This company to let me try again. I have talked with the store manager at 429 In Edgewater Fl. And said he would take me at any time.
I'm hoping this will give me another chance with The Publix family.
1) Sandy Regovic- Deli Manager
2) Robert Dytkowski- Store manager

You threatened workplace violence.

""if she does that again I'm gonna punch her in the face."

I would have fired you too. The mgr, nor publix as a whole, knows if you're serious or not. If you would have said, "if she does that again, I am going to have a talk with management or HR" then you would have handled it properly. Learn to manage your anger.

Publix Super Markets damaged birthday cake

07/15/17 - I ordered a power ranger birthday cake for my son. When I went to pick it up the cake was very poorly decorated and basically the plastic decoration kit was just thrown on top. The action figure had fallen down into the icing and lettering messing up the Happy Birthday "NAME". When I brought it to the attention of the employee she stated, yea it looks like it fell down don't it... No offer to see if it could be fixed and no offer of a discount if it couldn't be fixed. I asked for a manager and was told no manager was on duty at that time. After mentioning it one more time and letting them know I wasn't happy it was messed up the employee snapped at me saying, "It wouldn't have road in your car without falling anyway!" I HAD to have a cake for my son's birthday party, taking place in one hour, so I had to buy the cake at full price... $34.48 for a messed up 1/4 sheet cake did NOT make for a happy customer! I would have accepted a discount at the time of purchase but after being treated so rudely, I'd now like to ask for a full refund.

Publix Super Markets Wrong birthday cake

I ordered the Strawberry sensation cake with chocolade inside of it for my daughter's 17th birthday . Today when we went to pick it up we got strawberry peach cake with lots of kiwi and nuts on the side, which my daughter hates.
I am so disappointed because I never had a problem with Public before. The lady who took the order is from Bosnia and I showed her a picture which cake I want the day before on 7/8/2017.
My name is Snezana Arangjelovik and I ordered Strawberry sensation cake from Public on Belcher and Gulf to Bay in Clearwater. I also told one of the ladies soon the front desk and she sugested totaled a pick but the Bosnian lady came and offered different chokolade cake which is $23 ofcource they didn't have us the pink paper with my info. There is NO WORDS to explain our and my daughter's disappointment for her 17th birthday. This is so FRUSTRATING.
We will Never order cake again from this Publix.
Thank you

Publix Super Markets rotten eggs

I purchased a dozen jumbo eggs (Publix brand) about a week ago (or less). They expire on July 25, but are rotten now! The whole house smelled after I boiled it and began to peel the egg. There was a brown creamy fluid instead of the egg white but the yellow part was in tact. Horrific. I feel sick from looking at it! And sicker from smelling the foul odor.

please warn shoppers in the Apopka and Altamonte area

Publix Super Markets poor customer service and management!

Called to place a simple pre-order for some helium balloons. I was transferred to three different people, only to hear them say yet again, please hold let me transfer you. I finally asked for a manager, who finally responds. He was no better at handling a customer complaint than his employees who couldn't operate a phone line. Instead, he justified their poor quality of service and that was that.

Publix Super Markets employee

An employee at the Fort Walton Beach, Florida location named Cody Long is sexually harassing me. I'd like to stay anonymous please because I'm scared of what may happen outside of work. He makes sexual remarks when he walks by and constantly bothers me about getting together outside of work and tries to touch me. He often tries to get me to take breaks with him in his car and always sends me inappropriate pictures on snapchat while at work. He is also very rude when told no.

Publix Super Markets deli hot and cold, vegetable section, packaged meat section

I am shocked at the quality of food at the Publix on I85/Shallow Ford Rd. in Atlanta Georgia 30045. I do not have a vehicle and it's the only place nearby I can shop. The quality of meat in the packages I buy seemed to spoil frequently. Which leads me to wonder how well the food is being properly stored. I don't buy the deli sandwiches ANY MORE because the bread is always old and breaks apart and crumbles when I go to eat it. The veggies in the deli look old and withered. Doesn't look like the deli people properly change out the deli produce. The fried food in the deli mainly the chicken ALL OF THE CHICKEN in the hot tubs are DRIED OUT AND TASTE LIKE RUBBER. I DO NOT BUY VEGGIES anymore because the cucumbers NS zucchini are always soft and spongy. This is an OUT RAGE especially with the type of prices Publix charges. I bought a package of Oscar Meyer all beef Frank's and the meat was old and rubbery. The paper of the package was a colored Xerox copy of Oscar Meyer wieners printed on thin paper. What in the heck do Y'all people who run this place THINK YOUR DOING? THIS PUBLIX IS A DISGRACE AND I AM DISGUSTED. I told the women in the deli the chicken looked old and dried out like it had been sitting there all day and she had the nerve to ask me if I wanted to try it when the food OBVIOUSLY LOOKED OLD AND I BOUGHT IT AND WAS FREAKING OLD. WHO IN THE HECK DO U HIRE TO PREPARE AND KEEP UP THE FRESH FOOD YOUR COMPANY USED TO REPRESENT. MY NAME IS Brittany Vandyke [protected] [protected]@gmail.com

Publix Super Markets publix in holly springs, ga

I was standing in line at Publix and about to checkout. When the cashier got to my two bottles of champagne she told me that she could not check me out because I was intoxicated. Yes, I understand that a checkout person should never sell alcohol to someone drunk, but I truly did nothing wrong for her to assume this. The only reason she assumed I was "intoxocated" was because I had a blanket around me because I was cold from dinner and had a camo blanket around me. I stand 100% behind avoiding selling alcohol to someone who could get in trouble but I was singled out and I'm sorry but this is wrong. I'm not looking for a payout or reimbursement, but just looking for the recognition that they were wrong. Publix singled me out because they "assumed" I was drunk and that is not civil. This is unacceptable.

Publix Super Markets management

Management @ store in yulee, fl making threats to associates when calling out. Is this the way publix works or is this just the individuals you have at this store. Is it there place to ask why? Is it there place to say "you have to find someone to cover your shift" or should they say thanks for calling and then handle it. This experience does not leave one with a warm and fuzzy feeling about your company. "publix where shopping is a pleasure and it's hourly associates pay the price. Not impressed.

Publix Super Markets pharmacy inefficiencies

I recently moved and decided to switch pharmacies to the Publix across from my house instead of driving 20 minutes to the Walgreens I was using.

I have been filling birth control prescriptions every three months regularly with Walgreens for years. The BC I have been taking is Mononessa.

I am going in for laser eye surgery in May and needed to fill some prescriptions for that as well as order another three months of birth control, so i decided to switch to Publix and fill all four items all at once. The customer service rep was kind and helpful in setting me up in the system. he took my coupons for my lasik drops and was able to get all the bugs ironed out with my insurance in about a week. I went through the drive through to pick everything but one item up 2 days ago. When i got home, i noticed the BC refill was a different brand than the Mononessa that Im used to. I was never told at checkout that there had been a sub. I called the pharmacy today to see about switching out for Mononessa and was told that they don't do swap outs and if i wanted to get the brand i had been taking, and the brand that was on my prescription, that i would have to pay $100 dollars since insurance already paid for the off brand i was given and don't want to us. I was also informed that there is a sign in the pharmacy that i should've read to tell me this. (i picked up in the drive through!)

This, to me, seems completely unfair as i am a brand new customer expecting to get what ive always gotten and what is on my prescription. I am getting married in 2 months, moving to New Mexico, switching offices and jobs, my fiance is in the airforce and potentially deploying...all things that i really can't afford to deal with AND start a new hormonal regimen with potential side effects/weight gain/mood swings/ect. I am put in a corner here and forced to shell out $100 dollars that i shouldnt have to, all because i failed to check my bag at the drive through? I would assume that if a sub was made that i would be made aware of such at pickup. How as i supposed to know you don't notify customers of this? Im new!

I would hope that the process will be updated to mandate all subs be mentioned at pickup so that customers, especially brand new customers, are not put in a position where they are forced to shell out money where they shouldnt have to. Its a lack of attention to detail and unprofessional.

So as to not jeopardize my sanity over my crazy next few months, i am forced to go ahead with ordering and paying out of pocket for birth control that should be free with the insurance i am paying for. not to mention completely wasting three months worth of sub brand.

Thank you for taking the time to read my frustrations. You live and learn, and in this case i should've stayed with walgreens.

Publix Super Markets general

We have been a Publix customer first in North Port and now in Naples. I have three issues I'd like to share with you that I have found common in both cities.

First, while I appreciate you wanting to support local charities and causes, it gets very old for your cashiers to ask for a donation nearly every time I shop. We give significant sums to charities of our own picking. We don't need your corporation making us feel uncharitable every time we buy a loaf of bread.

Second, your deli people inevitably try to give us more meat, cheese, etc. than we ordered. A hald pound means a half pound, bot two tirds or three quarters of a pound. I can't help but feeling your people are directed to add a bit more to each order.

Finally, we have found your produce to be less than fresh on numerous occasions. The strawberry seem to turn bad quicker than normal, or we'll find that when we open a package of celery that some of the staks are only fit for the disposal.

While we hate to do this, we are going to start frequenting Winn Dixie.

Publix Super Markets management forcing employees to work past scheduled shifts

Having been with the company for years (8) now, I've seen a lot. My position is irrelevant to the matter at hand, but what I've seen lately, the last 6-8 months, seems to be a growing trend, more so with these younger, untrained managers. Because it has now happened to a dear friend, I feel compelled to call Publix out on this.
If an employee is scheduled for a particular shift, that is what the employee is obligated to work. Some of these area managers are not allowing, that's right, not allowing, their employees to leave, even after their shifts are complete, some who work overnight, work 12 plus, but are being forced to stay additional 4-5 hours! My friend is a single dad and has missed picking up his daughter because his area manager kept him when he should have been getting her. He had no actual days off because the additional forced hours encroached onto days he was scheduled off. If he gets a full 12 hours off, it's a good week. Some of his buddies without kids have it even worse! I understand OSHA has guidelines to keep employees mentally, physically, emotionally sound. Why isn't Publix complying?

According to the Department of Labor, a normal work shift is considered to be a work period of no more than eight consecutive hours during the day, five days a week. Any shift that requires work during the evening is considered extended or unusual by labor department standards. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration does not specifically regulate night shifts but OSHA does require employers to comply with hazard-specific safety and health standards. The administration also makes recommendations to employers about how to address the potential hazards of night shifts.
Breaks and Meal Periods
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends that night shift workers take regular and frequent breaks throughout their shift to reduce the possibility of fatigue. According to OSHA, rest periods should consist of formal breaks such as lunch or dinner. Additionally, night shift workers should be allowed small breaks during the course of the evening to change positions, stretch and shift concentration. Further, employers should provide additional breaks for schedules that extend beyond eight hours.
Employee Monitoring
Night shifts may disrupt the body's regular sleep schedule and could lead to fatigue as well as mental and physical stress. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration indicates that such hazards could potentially lead to operator error and occupational injuries. The administration recommends that employers "diligently monitor" night shift workers and learn to recognize signs and symptoms of shift-related health effects such as weariness, irritability, lack of concentration, depression and headache. An employer should evaluate employees who present such symptoms and possibly allow the employee to leave the area to seek rest.
Adequate Staffing and Scheduling
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration encourages employers to provide adequate staffing so night shift workers can take breaks and relax during their shift. The health administration also recommends employers establish a quiet and secluded area for workers to rest. If a worker is new to a night shift, it can take up to 10 days to adapt to the new schedule. Employers who have an adequate amount of employees during evening shifts ensure workers new to the schedule receive additional rest periods if needed.
Hazard Exposure
The health administration mandates that employers must ensure workers do not have prolonged exposure to workplace hazards. According to OSHA, tasks that require heavy physical labor or intense concentration should be performed at the beginning of the shift, especially if night shift workers must operate potentially dangerous or hazardous equipment.

Publix Super Markets placing an order at the deli for pick up

I called ahead and pre ordered a sub. A woman took my order and said in 15 min it would be ready. I live appx 20 min away from the store and was on my lunch break so I had limited time. When I arrived to pick up my sub, there was no sub to pick up. I had to wait several minutes to have anyone acknowledge me, and when they did my order receipt was still sitting at the sub station, never to be looked at again after they took my order. I was NOT HAPPY. They half heartedly apologized and I walked out. I wasted my entire lunch break assuming Publix was going to make my order. I mean seriously? Not acceptable and will now prevent me from ordering from your deli again.

Thank you for your time

Publix Super Markets a rude manager; unethical behavior

I went to the Publix on Furrys Ferry, and I saw the manager Rick Willis berate a deaf employee and taunt her because of her deafness!

Rick Willis is a horrible rude and mean manager, not to mention ableist. I was disgusted by his behavior, and I also saw him be incredibly rude to other employees. He harasses and taunts everyone he comes across. HE IS A GROWN MAN ACTING LIKE A CHILD! I can't believe a man like that is allow to keep his job. Surely, I can't be the only person disgusted by his behavior.
