I'll never go to the Deli dept in Hollywood Mall anymore. My turn is in between two Hispanix. The one before me is served and the lady who served him now has to turn to me to ask what i want but instead she lowers her eyes and moves far away and starts a long chat accompanied by giggles and laughter with another employee; like her a Hispanic. I wait and wait and wait and finally a black employee wanders thru the door and wonders what i need. While i give him my order, the lady comes back and smiles at the customer behind me and tells him in Spanish: "Sorry to let u wait".
Myself, I speak fluent Spanish, English, Dutch, French and German so she can't fool me.
My point is: if u don't LOOK Hispanic u get ignored. I find that very discriminating and probably racist as well as skin tone was definitively the issue.

There a Problem in the Publix store 53 Produce department, that need to be addressed, I spend lot of Money in that store and certain employees it's seem to bother them that I can afford to buy what ever I desired and play 100 Dollars in Lottery and win back and some, I've seen the rudeness, even talk about it with other employees about it on their brake out front, and they have agree lots of bad people that should not be in this store 53, like calling the MGM office when i'm near the Produce, like the Grape section, infact, the mgm, Michael came to the back produce department because someone call him on me, I can read look on people face when something is wrong, better yet, keep your ### problem and I will go to Walmart super store 24 hr, I don't you, you need people like me to spend their money at Publix, so clean up your house at store 53 at Hollywood, Florida .

The new IT senior manager that has been with Publix for over 25 years with first and last name initial BR is practicing covert employment discrimination practice at Publix. I’ve witnessed this recently when several resumes with higher quality minority applicants were disregard base on names that sound Black, Hispanic, and Indian.

I've been going to this store Publix 53 for 12 year and I've seen the customer service in young Employees go very low, no smile, no thank you, they expect for you to bag your grocery, they have this sinister look in their smile, after a while you see who good at heart and who is not, my opinion after 2 complaint come in with your name, Transfer to another store on the other side of town, also I've see Employees of the store walking holding hand 'like love birds ; that should not be permitted, Jealously on the male side with Customers, can occurred, I've seen it at the Produce department with one of the Cashiers, all these thing are for the Corporate Publix office to pass down to their Mgm Team, even some of them need to be rudely awaken or demoted, some act like they work in a Prison, keep it in mind, my Money that I spend at Publix, I also have option to shop somewhere else, where they appreciated my coming into there store to spend my hard earn money, a smile and a Thank you goes a long way .

I'm so sorry to say this about the PUBLIX grocery at Sheridan and 46 in Hollywood, Florida 33021, me as a very good customer that spend almost $ 800 Dollar a month, more then the avg customer, but the Produce Department are very rude young men and the Dark color manger think she can yell at customer with her sarcastic remark, He back again and complainting to the mgm department that I was picking at the grapes, when I buy a bag of grape a day for the family, trying to avoid the sour grape, but anyway they latch on to that, one of the employees that like me and is very nice fellow, told me about the complaint, I was shock, either way, i'm also a lottey and scratch off players, I get the feeling since I play a lot maybe 300 dollars a week, I loose some but also win some, I feel this bad vib when I cash out my winning, as a store that deal very high income people in the Hollywood area this store should smile more and leave their personal problem at home, and the CLICK need to stop, it's your duty, time to more these employees that think they are above the customer to other store, maybe that will send a smile and if they are not happy, there the door .

I have been dealing with this in a lot of stores in San Antonio. It sucks to be a white male in South Texas.

During my pregnancy I was also harrased to no end by the 2 female haitians. Everytime I went to the bathroom I was paged over the intercome, or questioned when I came back. I was often accussed of just "screwing off on my cell phone" in the bathroom like I have witnessed the 2 female haitian workers do. I was cursed at by these 2 women and accussed of lying about my pregnancy to get attention and have an excuse to loft off. I was given grief all the time because I was under a weight restriction (I couldn't lift anytyhing heavier than 30 lbs). I considered going to managment and eventually did say something to my deli manager who told me it was in my best interest to drop it because if I did call corp. and make a complaint even an anyomous one it would bring down hell upon me.They would consider me the bad egg and fired. I decided maybe it was time to transfer because I lived so far away anyways (a 45 to 1 hour drive) I was denied everytime and found out that my manager had bad mouthed me to every store I tried going to thus stopping the transfer. My mother works as a cake decorator at another store and my manager came in to buy a cake and started running his mouth about me saying I was bi-polar, un aware that is was mother. My mother asked who the associate was and he told her my name. My mother got very upset and put him in his place and he promptly left. I watched many ppl of race complain that they didn't get their way because of their color maybe it's because your a horrible employ all around? and I don't want to hear anything about how I am racist for posting this considering I am 100% Cherokee Indian! I could pass for being hispanic almost, and I never once mentioned my race to these 4 trouble makers in the deli. Ty Publix for allowing this to continue almost resulting in my son's death at birth. Ty for allowing me to be treated like a dog and say "theres nothing we can do because they're black" everytime!

I have come into reverse discrimination first hand woking for publix. In 2008 I discovered I was pregnant with my first child, I was moved from the bakery dept to the deli because I was being harrassed by the head cake decorator. She would frequently cuss at me and yell when I used her utensils to decorate and then go as far as to hide the decorating tools in her locker because she said they were hers! Publix issues a booklet to the decorators and we order our tools as needed and publix pays for them; not her! After I transferred to the deli I was working with a gay woman who was being harrassed by several Haitian asscociates because of her sexuality! Her and I became close friends and both witnessed the ridiculous double standard that publix promotes in it's work environment! I saw countless times these 4 haitians steal product, harrass other associates, blackmail, ignore customers, eat food out of the case, steal time, steal supplies...The 2 worst offences; I threw away bad meat that smelled fowl and was out of date, a haitian girl was waiting on a customer who requested it. After watching me throw it in the trash she dug it out and cut it and put in on that customers sub. I also witnessed that same girl hit another girl one night while closing. I reported it to the store manager but he just ignored my complaint. Publix's policy on physically hitting another associate is immediate termination! The causcasion asscociates in the deli complained multiple times but we were told there was nothing that could be done (by managment) because publix didn't want to punish them and it result in a racial law suit. I have had one haitian associate brag to me that he could steal time do whatever he wanted because they'd never punish him because he was black. Reverse Discrimination does exist and Publix should also worry about that big law suit that is most defintely heading right for them like a monsterous hurricane!

I have worked for Publix for 11 years and it has changed so much since Mr. Jenkins passed away. Publix is also racist when it comes to promoting and hiring. The store I work at there are at least 2-3 hispanics in each dept. and that is fine with me, but they "don't speak english" so they do not have to assist customers or answer phones. When I get an evaluation I get scored on how well I acknowledge customers. I think that is very unfair. My current asst. manager told me two weeks before he got promoted that he was told that he would get his promotion because he was hispanic and a male. If that isn't racist then what is?

Drawing this conclusion based on one situation is probably just as racist as your accusation. Had these two Hispanics been the same race as you, would this possibly be just a simple mistake and not "racism" ?

It's not once but EACH time i step into a Publix i sense there is racism at play. This one is not uncommon. Once you start to speak spanish they lighten up and want to help. The problem is this sort of behavior is all too common with hispanix towards whites. They don't want to speak english nor serve others than their own kind just like managers only hire their own people.
