Public Service Electric & Gas [PSEG] hidden fees

Let me start out by saying that I did not have a worry free contract when I contacted pse&g. My central a/c unit was not cooling the house effectively, so I contacted pse&g (who traditionally has been very responsive). They told me that labor would be $248 since I did not have a contract.

The tech came on the same day. He told me I needed 5 lbs of freon to resolve the issue... And that the cost would be $90 per lb. He did not tell me about any additional fees.

In my head, $248 + $450 ($698) would be around the price I would be paying (plus taxes). I agreed to the work... And the tech comes in with a bill showing an additional $195 for "replacement part installed." when I called to ask what this was, the supervisor told me that it was for diagnostics.

The diagnostics literally took 2 secs as the tech the didn't even come in the house, and just said he needed to refill the freon. The tech was not upfront about this cost... And I ended up paying close to $1, 000. I would not have agreed to have them do the work if I knew this up front.

The supervisor for pse&g worry free (nj) did not help in resolving this issue.

I will not be using pse&g again. Frankly, they are a dishonest company and worthy of zero stars.

Public Service Electric & Gas [PSEG] dangerous pseg driver

I am a customer, but I'm writing to report a dangerous driver.

About a week ago I was traveling South on Paramus road in Paramus, NJ. (I started to write right after it happened, but I thought it was a waste of time, but have change my mind),

I was in the right hand lane on a 2 lane road that was merging into one lane. I was about 6 feet ahead of the PSEG van (19102, Lic. XSF C69) - almost a full car length, when the driver cut me off from behind and forced me to brake and steer to my right. It was an aggressive and dangerous move. I travel this road regularly, and vehicles know that whichever car is ahead as they go into the single lane will take the spot and cars will take turns.

I'm sure you'll do nothing about this, because, well why bother, right?, but as a company with hundreds of vehicles on the road, you should have drivers that obey simple road rules and don't endanger you customers.

I have a photo of the van that shows the license plate and the van number which I am attaching. Your driver has some anger issues at the very least, and has probably done this more than once.

Public Service Electric & Gas [PSEG] outdoor lighting at westmont plaza, haddon township, nj

Hello,

I am unsure if PSE&G takes care of the shopping center lighting at Westmont Plaza shopping center. Recently, new bright outdoor lighting has been installed behind the Plaza shining extremely bright lights horizontally. The glare of the lights reaches all the way across the street from the Plaza and into our apartments south of the Plaza.

I was told by a PSE&G worker outside our building to reach out to you to see if:
1. These lights are under the jurisdiction of PSE&G and;
2. If they are, can they merely be adjusted to shine down to the parking lots behind the building rather than splashing out horizontally.

Thanks in advance. I was told if I had a pole #, that would help. I recorded this information on one of the poles.

AUD - 4001
COL - 4001

I hope this helps.

Public Service Electric & Gas [PSEG] installation of air conditioner

On 12-17-18, Contractors from PSEG replaced my heater and air conditioner. Prior to installation a rep came out, reviewed the area and scheduled the installation. The unit replaced was installed in the same location, on a pathway, on the side of my home, leading to my side door entrance.

The unit that was installed is much larger than the old unit and it only allows me 12" of space to pass by and enter my side door. The home is less than 1500sq'. The units info is Model # YFE30B21S.

I question if the unit is the appropriate size for the home, and even if its the appropriate power. The size comes close to blocking access, it now restricts access to my side entrance, , which negatively effects the homes resale value and even the ability to resale the home.

I am contacting you to seeking an appropriate remedy. The installation address is; 228 Jackson st. Trenton, NJ 08611.

I would appreciate any assistance, thank you.

Regards,

Andrew J. Paris

Public Service Electric & Gas [PSEG] pse&g worry free home appliance warranty

I was warned, I didn't believe them and am I sorry for doubting my neighbors.
Like a fool I cancelled my manufacturer extended warranties on all my appliances and for no real savings I signed up for pse&g 24/7 worry free warranty. Big mistake. First go was with my washer, fist tech didn't order what was actually needed, so 4 weeks and three visits and it's finally fixed.
This trip wasn't as smooth (if you think it takes 3 different people to fix a washer is smooth). First there not open 24hrs a day, yes the utility is but not service, repair especially warranty. There 24 is for exploded boilers, gas leaks not any house hold appliances.
After finally getting a human we get an appointment for the dryer for just two days away, only to be told 4 hours later that we will have to wait two weeks before the first tech can come to look at the unit and that our problem was being put on the back burner. Two weeks go bye we have our appointment, only to have the tech confirm what was expected and place the order for the part. 10 days no part no contact from the service department, 3 additional days of calling and be promised a return call from a supervisor to look into were our repair stands, never once did anyone know what was going on.
Just excuses that the repair parts department contact was handled via email internally. Excuses that a supervisor from worry free would call, and of coarse never a call back.
Ultimately worry free with pse&g new Jersey is a fraud, were it not a utility I'm sure that they would have wound up in court by now.
The 24/7 statement is fauls, the prioritizing repairs is not disclosed anywhere, and when ever we have had to call your wait time is upwards of 45 minutes. Also (not that I have had personal experience with it) if they decide that they don't want to fix it they flat out refuse, and cancel your policy( The person claimed to be refunded only for 6 months of the 24 paid to cover the appliance. Just getting a partial refund).

Public Service Electric & Gas [PSEG] repair service on my oven and dryer

Oven it took 5 visits and a month to get my oven fixed.
Now my dryer is not working and I am without a dryer for 2 weeks and had 2 visits so far. was told the first guy didn't order all of the parts needed and now I am being told they are not available. Yet when I go on samsungs page they can ship parts within in 24 hours. I spend a lot of money on the worry free program and I am not getting the service I deserve. How can you go from excellent service for several years to total incompetence. It's bad enough that you have to wait a week to get someone to look at the appliance, then you have to wait for the part to come in and then you have wait another week for the technician to come only to find out he can't fix it because he needs more parts and the process starts all over again. Not very smart...there has got to be a better way. These are major appliances we are talking about. I live in a townhouse and can not hang clothes outside, I am 68 with arthritis and can not cart my clothes to a laundromat. And the supervisor has no information as to when this dryer will be fixed. Please help, I am running out of clothes!
Date of incident for the dryer is 10/5 and 10/10
account number is [protected]
resolution is I want my dryer fixed

Public Service Electric & Gas [PSEG] air conditioning

We have been without air conditioning for 2 weeks. We have a PSE & G worry free contract for the equipment which was purchased through PSE & G. They have made 5 service calls and each time give different reasons for not being able to fix the air-conditioning. We do not get calls back from the supervisors as promised, and there is yet to be resolution to this problem which presents a health hazard in the hot weather

Public Service Electric & Gas [PSEG] "surprise" deposit requirements for 9-year customer

PSE has joined the ranks of punishing people who are working hard to pay their bills by asking them to pay even more. I was surprised at the amount of a bill I recently received, and dug deeper to discover they added a security deposit to my bill. Because I paid late a couple of times they say. I'm sure I've paid late a few times over the past nine years, but I've always paid, including the late fees, and my bill is current. Not cool at all for a company who has a monopoly on a necessity to suddenly hit people with surprise deposit requests, and then refuse to budget on it. I'm still fighting it but I want everyone to know how PSE is treating us honest, hard-working people.

Public Service Electric & Gas [PSEG] meter read/customer service/equal payment plan

Rip off! Rip off! Rip Off!. I just moved to the Burbs and I'm having to deal with this horrible company. They know we don't have other options so they can basically do what they want. You can even tell by the way you are treated by their representatives. Horrible service and rude. I'm finding that there always some reason why my bill ends up being backed up and I'm giving some crazy, unreasonable bill amount. I'm so disgusted and angry that this is my new reality. The equal payment plan is also the biggest trick so far. Don't do it!

Public Service Electric & Gas [PSEG] new service

Currently, we are building a house at 17-09 Gates Place, Wayne NJ.  We have been trying for over a month to get our gas meter put in and our electric transformer put in.  We have passed the first stage of PSEG checking on our builders wiring.  We are now at a road block.

Dealing with the new-construction department has been nothing but confusing and frustrating.  I can not get anybody to call me back, and all I hear from the operator as it is out to be scheduled.  This has been weeks and weeks and no one can give me a date.  My kids and I are in a rental that we need to vacate by months end.  Then we will need to go from friend to friends houses..

Is there anyway to get our order checked on to when the engineer for gas and electric will put us on the schedule. We are at a standstill until this happens.

This is the info I have:

Electric Engineer - David Metz

Gas Engineer - David MIlls.

I have two order numbers;
Electric: [protected]
meter -[protected]

Thank you so much in advance for your help!

Sincerely,

Lisa Trachtenberg

Public Service Electric & Gas [PSEG] smart meter

Smart meters are fire hazards and I do not want one, especially on a gas meter which could cause an explosion. Smart meters send pulsed radiation signals through your home to spy on you and to collect data "every couple of minutes" about your energy usage. They can burn out your appliances and they allow PSEG to shut down your power remotely and arbitrarily.

PSEG (Public Service Enterprise Group) which "serves" New Jersey and Long Island, New York is trying to force this dangerous, pulsed radiation Smart Meter on me (http://www.healpastlives.com/dlbin/private/pseg-smart-meter-091117.pdf). PSEG will not allow me to opt out nor will it support me finding me another energy supplier. In their most recent letter, PSEG has tried to force a Smart Meter on me by lying about it. The meter they want to replace my old one with IS A SMART METER!

PSEG is doing this so that they can potentially charge customers 5 to 10 times what they are paying now (this is based on experiences of utility customers in California, Illinois, Michigan, and Texas after smart meter installation).

Public Service Electric & Gas [PSEG] outrageous hike in bill

My Business bill for the month of June is outrageously high. I need PSE&G to get their acts together and stop the indiscriminate hike in bills. I have called their customer service over the phone to no avail. No matter what you tell them, you are still in the wrong and you are getting charged the right bill. They are of no help. My May's bill was about $158 and change only to get two bills for the month of June totally $422.23! without doing anything different than turning on my fan on the hot and humid days! The non effective, energy saving a/c I have was only turned on once out of the less than 30 days for this outrageous bill!

Public Service Electric & Gas [PSEG] hot water not available

I had a representative come to my place this morning to replace the hot water meter and after he left the hot water stopped. This happened after around 2 hours. I called PSEG and asked them to send for which I was told the representative will arrive between the hours of 4 and 8. I had been getting automated calls confirming the appointment for the time frame. At 7.40 PM when I called the company, I was told by the customer representative that there is an appointment but no time frame was fixed. He then tells me that he would arrange for someone to come between the hours of 8 PM and midnight or the next morning. I have two kids and today being a cold weather we need hot water. Worry Free? No way, this is trouble some. Hope someone listens to this and acts on this. I am from Livingston NJ.

Public Service Electric & Gas [PSEG] worry free

To whom it may concern:

I am writing to complain about a very distrubring situation regarding the level of customer service or lack there of. Your policies need overhauling in a major way.

I had a lapse in coverage and phoned to reinstate. I paid the amount requested and was told to call in 2 business days once it was reinstated and to schedule an appointment. I phoned 3 business days later and was told it had not been reinstated and that I would further have to wait an additional 2 weeks. I spoke to a supervisor Mr. Webster who quoted several times that this is policy.

I was lied to and mislead to seek payment. I also am in need of a repair. I have used worry free for several years or should I say have paid for it for several years and only used it once.

Now I have paid PSE&G and must pay a third party vendor. This is unacceptable customer service. The fact that I have been a customer for 20 years and had a short lapse should not mean that I will not have coverage. This is terrible customer service.

To the extent that I can, I will switch my electric service and sign up for a home warranty. I will cancel my worry free with PSE&G as it is useless.

I am also forwarding this complaint to the BBB, the State Board of Public Utilities and to the President of PSE&G. This monopoly can not exist for it's own convenience without any consideration for it's customers.

Dissatisfied Customer,
Adrian Banks

Public Service Electric & Gas [PSEG] outrageous charges

This morning I opened up my pseg envelope and was shocked to see the amount I was charged of $819.14. My fiancé and I are the only ones occupying this home and we both have full time jobs, so we are rarely home. Last month we updated our electric panel and as a result had to replace the meter. I don't understand how our bill can go from $110 to $800 from one month to the next. I called customer service the first rep. Was somewhat helpful, she took a minute to look at my account and said something was not right, and asked if I could send her an email with a photo of the meter. The second representative was no help what so ever, he lied, was extremely rude and unprofessional. I asked him to transfer me to a manager and stated he was a manager, when I insisted for a reasonable explanation he said he will transfer me to his supervisor, therefore implying he is not a manager. The supervisor krystal (id # cmh15) basically stated that the one ac unit we have on is what is using all the energy in the house. We asked kindly if there is a technician that can be sent to our home to check if the meter has a defect and she said that would not be possible. We wanted krystal to level with us and understand why we were boggled by this bill, so we asked her to look at the past months and explain how this was possible. We also asked krystal if she can refer us to someone that can help and her response was no, as she is the supervisor and there is no one else that we can speak to. I feel as though I was brushed off with no remorse and not a care in the world.

Public Service Electric & Gas [PSEG] meter readers don't come to read the meter my bills are all estimates

For almost a year the Meter Reader has not come to read the meters gas and electric. The gas meter is inside the house so he/she would have to ring the doorbell to come in. As a result I'm getting always estimates for my gas bill some of the electric bills are "actual" which I put into doubt.

In addition PSE&G is harassing us with phone calls telling us that is imperative that the meter be read at least every couple of month! how can it? the meter reader does not come or ring our doorbell. There's always some one at home since we run our business from home so there's no excuse that there's no one at home.

Public Service Electric & Gas [PSEG] miele gas dryer

A service technician from Public service Electric and Gas Company came to my home On Friday, February 19, 2016 to find out why the clothes were not drying properly.I have a service contract with Public Service Electric and Gas Company..That was the only problem. When he left, two parts were ordered and the machine was not working at all. I tried to plug in the master chord, but nothing worked. I was without a dryer for several days and I was told that the parts may take two three weeks to arrive. I called Miele and a service tech was sent to my home on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at an extra charge of $219.OO. He told me that the person from the gas company had cut the wires and therefore the machine was inoperable. Miele will not touch or fix the machine when the parts arrive. I do not trust any tech from the Gas Company tech to return because they have no knowledge about how Miele products are repaired and do not bring computers into the house to device the machine. I have a broken machine and cannot dry my clothes.

Public Service Electric & Gas [PSEG] due to bancruptcy I am charged alnost $500.00 with a credit on bill before bankruptcy

I claimed bankruptcy a couple of months ago and had no balance due on PSEG account but was charged a reconnection fee of almost $500.00. Where do they get off doing things like this, this is robbery. They need to be stopped and their customer service is terrible. These people need to have some outside entity to govern what they do and how they treat people they are the worst in so many ways.
