Proxibid - Firearms auctions

Proxibid Buying online at a auction that has a sale at their premises with customers in person. In the majority of in person auction all the online customers are doing is driving up the actual start price to a much higher start price. Auction houses ALWAYS look more favorable on auction attending customers as they have a relationship with those in the room...

Proxibid I see no way, but the item I bid on should be mine!

I was waiting on an item the bid was at $4250 I bid $4500 someone bid $4750 I bid $5000 at which point a message popped up over the bids, saying that I needed to refresh this page. Just as I thought, by the time I refreshed it, the bid was over. The troubling part was that I had been waiting for hours without needing to refresh no issues, but the real problem was the fact that the item sold for $4250. The bid had gone for past that. Before the refresh mysteriously just appeared at that precise second that I needed to be bidding after four hours of not having any issues. The timing was very suspect, but the fact that they had taken my $4500 bid and the $4750 bid and they had taken my $5000 bid and then that message magically popped up and the sale price was $750 below my last accepted bid. Even if it hadn’t accepted my $5000 bid it would have fallen back to the $4700 bid and then back to my $4500 bid that we had long since past! The fact that the sale price was below, several steps of bidding that had been passed is very concerning and reason for me to suspect foul play!

Proxibid Item won at auction was defective.

Won items at online auction from Young's Consignment Center, Canton Ohio and the most expensive was described as: Lot #37 "Rare antique Fenton student lamp" - one picture. The shades are rare but not what they appeared. They were cranberry opalescent shades but in reality they were Fenton white opalescent that was painted red on the inside. When I returned home and washed all the glass I purchased the "cranberry started to flake". It was obvious that the shades had been painted.

Contacted auction the next day and was told "What do you expect me to do, pay out of my owe pocket?" I responded "yes" but he stated "I already paid the consignor". then he hung up on me.

I am from Columbus Ohio, 2 hours away but will return the lamp for full refund.

Several attempts to contact Bob were ignored. I did leave feedback on this item on Proxibid.

I am 74 years old, selling on eBay for 22 years and attending auctions since age 20.

Thank you for considering action,

Michael D. Dixon

Desired outcome: Full refund or large partial refund because the shades were the reason I bid.I spoke with Gloia Pena from Proxibid on the online chat who was very helpful.

Proxibid Auction

I won auction or real property 2 properties to be exact

I was approved for bitting and won auctions on 2 properties

When I contacted auction house to arrange payment by bank transfer the same way I have paid by previous auctions I was told that auction personal tried to call me after auction and I did not pick up phone

And that I was suspected as a fraudulent bitter

And that the son of person that was conducting the auction was also biting

On the same auction

The conversation got very hostile at that point and the phone was hung up

I am suspecting fraud and I think this matter needs to be looked into

Desired outcome: To pay and get ownership on properties that I won on auction

Proxibid Unethical business practices

I made a complaint with the state agency that oversees auction companies, but they rubberstamped Proxibids thievery. Be wary of Proxibid, for when I won an item - actually got the 'winning bidder' notification notice, followed immediately by their website freezing up. I closed the page out after it was not responding, and reopened it to find that the item was awarded to another bidder. It seems if the item you're bidding on is going to be a good bargain, they pull a secret lever to squash your winning bid. If all you're bidding on are trinkets then you are safe with these slimy folks, but if you're bidding on an expensive item that is about to go for less value - watch out! They kicked me off their site for filing a complaint as though I relish being a customer of a cheating, money-hungry low-life operation - I don't!

Desired outcome: Inform others so they don't get cheated too!

Proxibid Customer service representative (cindy) at proxy bid

ihave had a problem with two auction sites in the past, like today I was bidding on a 1984 gmc truck ibid 1600.00 somebody on site bid 1700.00 I bid 1800.00 somebody on site bid 1900.00 I tryed three times by hitting my bid buttom to bid 2000.00 it would not let me bid isent them a email wanting to know what happen. they said I loged out. I told them that did not happen that I was still login, I never heard back from them. I called proxibid and talked to cindy and just like the last time when I called to complain, she took upon herself to say that it was my fault that I was, nt doing something right this is the second time that lady has more less went as far to tell me that that I was doing something wrong that it was, nt the auctions fault. this women has a bad attitude when someone has a problem with an auction site. she seems totake up for the auction everytime. it thought she worked for proxibid not the auction. you would never know it. proxibid needs to address this problem, she does not treat people with respect, she always tells people there the problem.

Proxibid auction company

I bid on an item in one of their auctions. I won the bid (power washer worth at least $500) for only $10! There was NO RESERVE on the item. I had also won another item. I was informed upon pick up that the seller was not going to sell me the power washer because they wanted more money for it. BUT THERE WAS NO RESEVE! So I said I would not be picking up the other item I won, as the power washer was what I really wanted. So they black listed me from Proxibid. Proxibid stated their understanding but said they would only stand by the buyer regardless.

Proxibid auction

Items pictured at angles, broken and half [censored] hot glued together. Up bidding by family members on another auction. Inside bidding on other auction, not allowing an online bid (with highest internet, signed in, one page opened) on collectibles, charged $35 for following buyer's terms, etc. The local auctioneers know each other and complaining only causes the bidder more problems. Very shady. Auctioneers buying.

Proxibid mark switzer auction, march 16, 2019, 1 p.m. central

Even though I had the high bid on Lot 29, 10' Root Rake with Straight Tines & Pins the Switzer Auction chose to pass on my bid. It was a $900 bid on an item that a company in Grand Prairie, Texas sells new for $1700. That's more than 50% of retail. Proxibid AS WELL AS ALL COMPANIES should plainly list either ABSOLUTE or NOT ABSOLUTE on each Lot. This is the second time in the last five years I've had a problem with the Proxibid Auction Service. Last time I called about a problem and the Proxibid representative said call the auction service. I made a maximum online bid of $400 for a Colt Woodsman. The company sold it to someone else for $400. The company wanted to point the finger back at Proxibid.

I won a pellt rifle on proxibid at 21$ through online bid. Upon the completion of the auction i didnt get an invoice and when i pulled up the item i saw where an onsite bidder actually was awarded the.item for.a 20$ bid. Wow. Only one of several absolute bullcrap dealings with this outfit. I guess it was easier to sell to the bidder that was onsite than to charge me 50$ shipping and handling for my 21$ powerline 880. Yep i get it it dont go both ways tho. And i promise.

Proxibid auction

Participated in an online auction. Bid on a vehicle which was shown on screen but was not the actual vehicle being auctioned.
I was an online bidder, paddle #13223, on the 3-11-17 Tampa Machinery auction. I bid on and was high bidder for a vehicle shown on the screen to be lot #14021. Two minutes later the same vehicle was on screen up for bid. Thinking they didn't get my bid I bid again and again was high bidder on lot #14021. Looking at the messages on screen I was notified I won a different vehicle, lot #14036 which was never shown on my screen and I did not bid on. I immediately contacted the message operator at the auction so they could put the vehicle I DID NOT BID ON back up for auction. I was told to contact the auction company which was facilitating the online service, Proxibid, Inc., which I immediately did. I was told by them to call the auction house directly which I, again, immediately did. I spoke to Theresa, explained the situation and asked her to notify the auctioneer to re-auction lot #14036 since that lot was NOT on my screen when I bid. I also told her I DID want to purchase lot #14021 which I was winning bidder on. She told me they would have to do a "no sale" at the end of the auction on lot #14036 and would discuss if I would be allowed to purchase lot #14021. I told her to go ahead and do a "no sale" on both lot #'s 14036 and 14021 if that would make it easier. She replied "fine" and hung up. Later that evening I received an invoice from Tampa Machinery for both lot numbers! The following business day I contacted Tampa Machinery, spoke to the owner and explained the situation. I also stated I wanted to take the offer a no sale given to me by his employee, Theresa. He replied all sales are final and I would be banned from bidding in any future Tampa Machinery auctions to which I agreed! I contacted Proxibid to complain and investigate. They stated they could do a metadata search of the auction but COULD NOT determine what was actually on my screen at the time I was bidding.
Subsequently Tampa Machinery filed a complaint with Proxibid. After speaking with Proxibid several times they sided with Tampa Machinery and I have been banned from participating in ALL future online Proxibid sponsored auctions even though I have had NO previous incident in all my years bidding on their website.
I have a time stamped copy of the ongoing on screen messages of this incident. It clearly shows Tampa Machinery going out of numerical sequence which could explain the incorrect vehicle being on screen at the time I was bidding. It also clearly shows my attempt to notify Tampa Machinery and Proxibid, in a timely manner, of their error and adequate time to correct it and re-auction lot #14036.
Instead, Tampa Machinery is being allowed to bully and strong arm me by filing an unfounded complaint with Proxibid for THEIR mistake and lack of policy to re-auction items due to their error.

Proxibid proxibid registration

Use extreme caution in registering for an account to view an auction. Once you give them your credit card number it is very difficult if not impossible to remove it. The system will keep telling you that you must wait 14 days after an auction you are involved in is over before they will remove the card. I have never bid on or purchased anything on this site. When I called, they said I was registered for auctions and stated that some of their auction companies will take one registration and pre-register you for future auctions "as a service". Thus, you are NEVER out of the 14 day hold window. Proxibid states your credit card is hardcoded and not able to be removed.

A buyer is always able to remove credit card information from Proxibid. If a buyer has placed a bid in an auction, Proxibid's credit card processing partner requires a wait time of up to 14 days post auction to ensure transactions can be processed. However, if a buyer does not have bids placed and is not actively participating in an auction on Proxibid, the information can be removed. Proxibid takes information security very seriously and follows all industry and federal regulations pertaining to the storage and use of personal data.

Proxibid online auction fraud

I purchased several items for $700-$800. During the auction via live chat I questioned the specific auctioneer (Omega Auctions) regarding the authenticity. They replied that if they were not as represented they were returnable but shipping was on me. I was good with that. The items arrived and all were fake. For example, while they appeared to have petina, according to a local jeweler the watches all supposedly from late 1800's were cheap reproductions. Then the three supposedly authentic Nazi knives all had "China" stamped on the blades. I called ahead to Omega, was told to return them, did so as advised, then via email and recorded voicemails (proof retained) confirmed that Omega returned the items to the original owner and got the money returned to them. Omega, advised me the money would be in my account within days. I have this via e-mail and voicemsil. . It's thee weeks later and I have yet to see a penny returned to me. The auctioneer (Omega) won't answer their phones. I reached out to Proxibid for help and was told...sorry, you're on your own! They have greater influence and leverage over these organizations but won't even try. Like other similar sites and administrators involved in such transactions by which they are paid, I feel Proxibid need to vet these orginzations better. Like eBay, PayPal, Amazon etc. they need to have recourse built into their agreements with these organizations when such circumstances exist. According to Proxibid, they do not. At this point, I haven't the merchandise nor the refund...I'm on my own!

Proxibid Tried to scam me into buying an auction item i didn't bid on.

I was an account holder with proxibid. I always bid online. I purchased thousands of dollars worth of Heavy Equipment from the "Motley Industrial Auctions." In Virginia and I purchased a collector car from the Barrett Jackson auction in Moohegan, all through Proxibid. At the next auction I entered I bid on cars only, about 3o minutes into the auction I noticed I had been charged $500.00 for some kind of a sign. I immediately contacted Proxibid to let them know about the mistake. I was told "We don't make mistakes." I then contacted a supervisor and got the same line, "We don't make mistakes." Remember I contacted them during the auction! I refused to pay for the sign that I had not bid on and my account was subsequently "Black Flagged." For non payment. I would advise anyone bidding online to find an alternative to Proxibid, they acted like crooks and were pretty rude in their denial that they could not possibly make a mistake. I talked to no less than four supervisors and got the same rehearsed spiel from each one.

They awarded me a pile of dilapidated old large cabinets that I supposedly bid on, to have shipped from the east coast to California. They would accept my sensible of why would make a bid on something that requires freight shipping of hundreds of dollars, but the bid price was less than $25 dollars. They kicked me off the platform and took me a year before I was let back on. Should have stayed off because they later bamboozled my winning bid. At that time I was declared 'winning bidder' in big red letters, right before their site 'froze', in the minute it took me to log back in, the item was awarded to another 'bidder'. My winning bid would have been a good buy, they decided to keep it instead. Yes, after I filed a complaint with the state board, who whitewashed it - they kicked me off again. Good riddance cheaters, like 'Mrs. Calabash', wherever you lurk.

Proxibid They just don't care about their customers

I paid for my order and never received it. When I contacted Proxibid and reported a fraudulent seller they did nothing to help and they actually did not care. I asked them to help me get a refund and they said that I need to resolve the situation with the seller. It tried many times but the person refused and then he just stopped replying.
I went back to Proxibid customer service and told them that I had no luck and that I was not able to get a refund on my own. And even after I explained them everything they literally said that it was not their problem!
Do order from Proxibid and save your hard earned money!

Like the many prior complaints I too see that Proxi Bid does not give a care about the bidders. They only want to make money from the auctions. I was high bidder on an item today 11/20/18 and it went to once, twice but instead of going to sold it passed. I was watching the comments section and questioned what was taking so long prior to the pass, it took almost 6 minutes. When I called the auction company, no answer by phone or email. I contacted Proxi Bid and the lovely Stephanie was courteous enough to tell me they would do nothing for me and they had no control over the auctions. They only get a percentage of sales. In other words they could care less if you are treated fairly or not. However if you do not pay for something you will be black flagged. What a complete scam this company is running.

Proxibid Online auction scams

I purchased a few items from an auction from Las Vegas Liquidations on ProxyBid.com. After winning the auctions I get a call from Las Vegas Liquidations with an outrageous price for shipping for these items. I buy items on other auction sites, and have for a long time, so I know how much shipping should be. They quoted me $65 to ship about 13 lbs. in items when it should have been $24 through UPS. After attempting to discuss this with the owner, Frank Odeh, he just hung up on me. Next thing I know he reports me to ProxyBid and my account gets a black flag. I called ProxyBid and they basically told me there's nothing I can do and I am done bidding on their site. I can't file a complaint against the seller, I can't do anything but pay that shipping amount to get my account back - there's nothing I can do.

With other sites out there that are reputable ProxyBid just isn't worth the headache. Also, when you go to ProxyBid.com on Google Chrome you get an alert from Google telling you the site isn't safe. Beware putting your credit card info on a site like that!

Proxibid Questionable Practices

I signed up for the site within the last month to search for some hard-to-find collectibles. Earlier on, I found that I did not receive outbid notices or anything. Twice I complained. Twice, I got no answers.

Ultimately, I was threatened by Proxibid with a bad credit rating for not buying an item I did not bid on. It appears that someone set up a competing account with my information and bid against me. Certainly there was ID theft here and bad customer service. Someone made more money by driving the bidding up.Stick with eBay.

Proxibid rigged bidding process

The bidding process seems to me to be rigged. "Onsite" bidder seems to automatically go well above the highest on-line bid. Makes me wonder if I'm actually bidding against myself. In addition, the "internet premium" is exorbitant. Lesson learned - this is nothing but a scam that results in the buyer paying a much higher price than can be achieved elsewhere.

Proxibid They are rated F, the worst rating by the Better Business Bureau

I recently bid on and won a silver panda bullion coin, 1 troy oz.. When I received it in the mail I knew the moment I held it that i had been sold a fake. It was so light anyone who deals with coins regularly would also know it was a fake. When I called this auction company to let them know about selling me a counterfeit coin, I was pretty much told to pound sand. Any reputable auctioneer would have immediately apologized, been remorseful and offer to refund me my money. Not these scammers. There excuse was they didn't weigh it, blah, blah, blah. Very lame excuses for being in a business whose job it is to know value of items.
I've reported them to Proxibid and will also be notifying the federal authorities, as it is a crime to pass counterfeit coins from any where in the world.
Beware folks, if they will so blatantly try to sell counterfeit coins what other lowball tactics are they committing.
Along with their 17% buying premium I was charged an $8.00 handling fee to ship 1 coin and of course shipping costs. A 40.00 bid eventually cost me 61.00 plus for a counterfeit coin. They don't get any lower than this folks. Are these guys slimy or what?
Yikes - did a more thorough search on Easton auction. There are lots of complaints for them selling counterfeit coins. This is a very shady company. Hope the feds bring them down.
Another Yikes - They are rated F, the worst rating by the Better Business Bureau.

More yikes, further google search shows they are probably fradulent with baseball cards also.

Proxibid I too have been ripped off not once, but three times

I too have been ripped off not once, but three times. I am shocked at the prices people are paying for fakes. Having worked in China for several years, there is a huge market for fake antiques where they use acids and/or bury items for a period of time to give them aged patina looks to them and this is exactly what most of the auctioneers on Proxibid are selling. I would safely assume at least 50% of the items on this site are cheap Chinese knockoffs, yet nobody does anything about it. BUYER BEWARE!
