Proscan Proscan 32in flat screen tv / faulty product

Sadly I know this is much too late, but my husband and I received a proscan tv as a wedding gift oct 31, 2014. After finally opening it and plugging it in about a week later, it seemed to work fine, but we didn't really know how to work it and so we turned it off for the night and went to bed. The very next day we tried to turn it on and it has never turned on since, it just constantly remains on the red standby light. We tried everything for about a week, unplugging, holding buttons, nothing worked. And of course we didnt get a receipt with the gift so we could not trade it in. My husband just figured we should cut our loss and trash it. I was pretty upset, a brand new tv that worked for only a few minutes. Well here I am a year later, still no tv and crazy enough, we still have it, its just been sitting in our living room by our one wall. So this tv has been unplugged for a year, and it still does not work. Go figure. But anyways, that is my complaint. This product is beyond faulty if you cant even enjoy it one single day. I do hope this helps prevent anyone else from wasting their money or getting anyone else's hopes up. And sadly I do not know where this product was purchased from, just that I live in cincinnati ohio and it would have been purchased from around here, or so I am guessing.

Proscan Not turning on

This is the same problem I see concerning my 32 inch Proscan tv. It stopped turning on after 17 months. At first it would turn on every 3rd or 4th try after unplugging, replugging and hitting the on button on the tv. It has since progressed to a 10 minute operation and about 20-25 attempts. The remote will not work anymore to turn it on but will change channels and shut the thing off after it has finally turned on. I am not a big tv watcher and the thing looks new. After reading about the cost of replacing parts with no guarantee it will ever be fixed I guess just dumping it is the only way to save myself more grief. It is a shame these products are such junk.

Proscan dead television

Bought the first tv in November 2009. It died in March 2010. They replaced it (after mega hours of techs, complaints, tears and finally a home visit to tell us the digital board was dead). In June 2010, it started doing the same thing. I called again (I have all these names and numbers written on the book). We unplugged and held down the on button. It resumed work. Now, four days after the full two years is up (Costco told us that when it was replaced in June 2010, a new warranty was issued on the new television, but the guy today told me that was not true) it has died completely. They (Costco) have washed their hands of us. Frankly, I have to feel that fiddling with the tv in June 2010 and getting it going was something they did to avoid having to replace it or give our money back, knowing (their knowledge) that this television was a lemon. They were just lucky that it died a few days after that warranty (yes, the one we were told my either Chris or Michelle in the Costco concierge office in June of 2010) ended. I have asked for our yearly dues (just paid) to be returned. As far as I am concerned, they owe me most of the cost of the tv because of the aggravation, the untruths (apparently) and their lack of interest in keeping a customer.
