State Farm response to accident... malpractice?

On Sunday December 10th ...3:30 pm I was driving on the 238 exit off 580 South. I saw a sea of red lights fast approaching and hit my breaks. I looked in my rear view mirror and saw the car behind was not slowing and was gonna hit me. I tried to get my car onto the shoulder to minimize contact but there was a curb restricting the ability. I managed to get 3/5ths of the car off. Traffic was death defying...dangerous. Patrick Daniel Marchand, the driver immediately apologized. We exchanged information. No police came ...too scary to linger. I called my Insurance Company Progressive to inform them...claim # [protected]. i got them photos of the damage to them and estimates are coming in at $3500. He hit me going almost full speed and smashed in the rear panel 2". Trunk inoperable... Anyway, it seems the driver who hit me told a different story, (i wonder why), which apparently State Farm is backing 100% and I have been told the case is closed. Claim #[protected]. 40 years I have paying insurance and have never made a claim. Isn't Progressive supposed to make this RIGHT? Isn't State Farm's behavior bordering on mal-practice. Based on the testimony of the man who caused the accident the evidence is irrelevant? CHP tells me this is an open and shut case. I am a safe driver and therefore do not buy collision...So I'm screwed? They get away with this travesty of justice? I called Farmer's and left a voicemail and told them my intention to sue them and the driver. I got a call back from an underling of the case handler, saying its over...they are supporting their customer. Then she said "don't bother suing, we never have to pay". Then they call back, leave a voicemail...and say they need more info on my case before they can proceed. ? Strange NONE OF THIS MAKES SENSE! I decided to not call back, fearing games I am unfamiliar with. I am also getting more headaches/ neck stiffness since the accident which I need to see my chiropractor about.

State Farm don't attend my calls

When I call them they don't answer my calls or when they do answer they just hang up. When I first got the insurance my deductible was 200.00 dollars and now it says that it is 500.00 dollars. Also a month ago I had a car accident and the person who hit my car is also a statefarm member. I was told that the insurance was going to cover for everything and that they were responsible for everything. Due to my injury I wasn't able to work for a week and now the insurance is saying that they don't want to pay for my hospital bill.

State Farm state farm auto insurance / claim division

Recently, my step daughter was hit from behind by a driver that was pulling into a gas station at a high rate of speed and probably not paying attention. My stepdaughter was slowly backing up at the time (as she is a safe driver... no accidents, no tickets, after logging 10, 000 plus miles). She was backing up after seeing that it was all clear, but she did not see the rapidly approaching vehicle that was turning into the lot (again at a high rate of speed). She heard a beep from the back-up camera's warning device and quickly stepped on the brake to stop (she was moving at approximately 2 miles per hour, backing away from a gas pump). The car that hit her was going somewhere between 15 and 20MPH or possibly more. There was damage to the back bumper of her van... minimal, but visible. Approx. $900 worth of damage. The women who hit my stepdaughter's van apologized profusely... and said she was "sorry for hitting her". She handed over her insurance card (also State Farm) to exchange information and then left the scene, and once again apologizing for the hitting her. My step-daughter called our insurance agent immediately from the site of the fender bender... to start a claim. And she also called my wife and I... and we were all on the line with her and our agent, as my stepdaughter gave a detailed statement about what had happened). It was a multi-way conversation and the agent said that it would be handled quickly and professionally. Then a State Farm agent called her later that day at the house to review her statement about what happened and take it for a second time. My wife and I are both witnesses to that phone call. My stepdaughter told the agent that she was very slowly backing up, 2 MPH.. with her foot on the brake...heard a beep, came to a quick stop and was hit from behind by car that came in at a high rate of speed. I thought it would be a quick resolution, but it was not. After weeks and numerous calls to various claim agents to find out about the status of the claim, State Farm agents claimed that my step daughter never gave a statement. They also said that she was at fault. But how could they determine fault if they claim she never gave a statement? So she had to call again and make a statement for a third time... and then, with another agent, for a fourth time over the phone. State Farm insisted that the liability of the accident was with my step-daughter; and insisted that I pay the $500 deductible as the van is insured under my name. I asked that they review the case given that she said she stopped and was hit from behind... and that the vehicle entering the gas station parking lot came in at a high rate of speed. The State Farm agent said they would look into it once my stepdaughter gave a statement about what happened for the record. Note that I am furious at this point as she had already given four statements to the claim agents. Weeks later, they had to interview her again (this time making a recording of her statement, as they said there was no record of a statement ever being given). then they informed me that her statement had not changed... This was odd, as they claimed that they had no prior statements. So, here we were, going on 7 weeks, and five statements given to agents... and still no definitive resolution. My stepdaughter had to call one more time and give yet another statement to a claim agent higher up in the corporate food chain... some sort of team leader. In the final analysis, State Farm insisted that the fault lie with the person backing up... even if they came to a stop, and even if they were hit from behind. That's Ridiculous!
Look, it's not about the money. I had been with State Farm for a long time (with three vehicles insured and a homeowners policy)-- a loyal customer for 35 plus years. I've paid in approximately a quarter of a million dollars in insurance premiums over that time, and had very few claims... peanuts... and paid my deductible without ever complaining. Given that my stepdaughter is relatively young and now had an accident, our insurance premium on the van just doubled... and after being a safe driver and having someone hit her from behind. Now she has an accident on her record. Unfair, especially for someone who worked so diligently to be a safe driver, completed driver education, and the State Farm safe driver program for young drivers.
In my opinion, State Farm Insurance is all about the money... but they will no longer get any of mine. I have switched companies and encourage others to do so. Buyer beware! Stay away from State Farm Insurance. Rates are much better elsewhere anyway. Try Geico, All State, Progressive or Farmers... they are all way better companies from what people tell me. Should have looked into that long ago. So many people have told me about their dealings with State Farm, and that they are a corporation that is money driven and money oriented.. They seem to care more about maximizing their revenues and profits than they care about people. My step-daughter an I feel that we were treated unfairly. We just want others to be aware... and beware! It was a horrible experience dealing with the Claim Division's incompetence.

State Farm insurance

My name is Katara Neely. My policy was cancelled due to issues, w my vehicle having to be fixed so I wasn't driving my truck. Once I got it fixed I had to pay the DMV a 50.00 fee because of the lapse (no problem there). And i called cus tomer service on 11/14/17, to get my car insurance reinstated and paid 239.00. I also asked the rep, would they send the DMV the SF-1 for proof of car ins, he said yes of course. So on 11/19/17 I checked my mailbox, and got a letter from the DMV that stating my license plate tag has no been REVOKED! So I call statefarm cust service, they tell me that the rep wasn't suppose to take payment, and I have no insurance policies! So I called my local agent on today 11/20/17 and they tell me the policy has to be rewritten and that it is now gone up to 305.00! Not to mention I have to wait 7/10 business days to get my 239.00 back. So I still have no insurance or money. I have a life and have a part time job, how am I suppose to get back and forth? Yes, the policy lapsing is my responsibility and I corrected it. But no one at statefarm is talking responsibility for this unprofessional mess! So what I would like to know who is going to fix my issue? All I've heard is Ms. Neely I'm sorry there is nothing we can do...wrong this company took my 239.00 so I will need for someone to figure it out! I paid for car insurance so that is what I expect. I do not work at statefarm so I do not know rules and regs, and apparently the cust service reps don't either. The blessing is I was never pulled over by the police, because had I been they would have impounded my car...for REVOKED tags. What kind of business y'all running? And I will keep talking about this until something is done. No the customer isn't always right...but in this situation YES I AM!
My email is: [protected]@gmail.com

State Farm accident investigation

Hi Justin Hambly,

When I was talking to you, previously, I told you how I am now 64 years old...and have stayed with State Farm Insurance, for my entire life. And, I mentioned to you, that State Farm was a trusted company, which my parents, and their neighbors, also admired. And I stayed with you, as an agent, even 15 years after we moved away from Aptos, because we valued your setvice, and your integrity.

However, I am saddened to say, I am now cancelling my business with you...due to a string of total incompetence, lack of professionalism, and outright dishonesty...on the part of State Farm's claims investigators.

What it comes down to...is that these claims investigators were to lazy to do their jobs...and I am asked to pay for damages I couldn't have possibly caused...because your investigators were too lazy to even interview the primary suspect in the accident.

I am committed to spending some time, m every day, over the next month, pursuing this complaint.; State Farm will be laughed out of court, when they claim I somehow crashed myself, between 2 cars, for 50 minutes. I couldn't have done that! Nobody could have ever done that! Yet your lazy, and unprofessional agents were too lazy to even talk to the truck driver, who caused all of that damage.

It is clear, that the q2ualities of honesty and integrity, that my parents so admired, from State Farm, has gone straight down, and has been replaced by a culture of lazy agents...who like to sit behind their desks...and get paid for doing nothing!

State Farm renewal insurance process

I received a call yesterday on 7/13/2017 from the Ashley Collins - State Farm office telling me I would not have my home owners insurance policy renewed due to claims I have had. I am very disappointed in the way they handle this. I have not had any major claims with them until recently with the drain lines under the slab caused a water leak, which was something that was out of my control. When I spoke to them yesterday they informed me I had 2 claims within 5 years. 1 was a claim regarding my refrigerator I believe that was $400 that was 4 years ago. And unfortunately the recent one was est 12, 500.00 (leakage) under my slab. I am so disturb by this company treating me this way and I have been with them so many years with no existing claims since the ones I listed. I also have vehicle coverage with them as well and the same thing no claims they had to pay for to my knowledge over 15 years and this is how they treat you. Customer Satisfactory is definitely not their priority. I have been dealing with them for years and now I have to find someone to take over my insurance for my house. They did say they will not renew my primary insurance but they will keep insurance on my rental property and my vehicles. Really? Why would I want their business after they just disappointed me. I felt like they had me covered. They did cover majority of the bill but you drop me from home insurance after I done paid for insurance for over 10 years 2 claims. Out of over 10 years 2 claims. WOW I am blown away at this time disappointed and annoyed by their actions for someone that been with them so long. Even my car insurance over 15 years no claim. I get 2 claims and this is what they do to your long term customers, if you can help me I will appreciate it. The Agent: Ashley Collins - State Farm Insurance Agent. 1610 W. Friendly Ave Ste, B Greensboro, NC 27403 phone: [protected]

State Farm claims

First off let me say, State farm has been the worst insurance company EVER. I started services with them just about two months ago, I have been lied to mislead, and robbed of my money. I am now 21 years of age, just about 2 weeks ago I was only 20. I had to experience of purchasing a bran new car of my own with my money. I had finally did everything on my own and got insured through this so called company STATE FARM. I paid my down payment and got started, only to receive a letter from state farm informing me that they would no longer be insuring after June 12th of 2017. Reason I had not had my licenses solely for over a year (which is understandable) so I called the young lady who set me up with the policy and asked her if she was aware of the rule. She tells me "yes". So then at that point i asked her to cancel my policy and present me with my money back long story short, she refused and hung up on me. So I asked my sister to place me on her policy and he agree and then I had to pay for another down payment. Fast forward to June 6th, 2017 and I get into an accident. Called "State Farm" to cover it and they offered a company to repair and towed the car. fast forward today July 13th i get a call that they will not be covering my vehicle that was insure by them at the time of the accident that is would have to be my sister company. My car is in the shop and the company they referred me to, they claim they do not do business with them. Then she changed her mind and said they do do business with them but they will not be paying for any repairs on the vehicle. It is my deal with the insurance company. and they will not be paying. The rep. i spoke with was rude and when I asked a question miss Pat would not answer me and asked me a question on top of my question . She was located in phoenix Arizona and ID #upll. I requested to speak with her supervisor and she told me "NO". No sups available and said they would call me back and i told her no i needed to speak to someone now because statefarm has lost all creditabilty with my becasue everytime I speak to them they have lied or misrepresented themselves that i would need to speak to a sup. or we needed some resolution option he said no again and i asked her to hold on and she hung up on me. By far State Farm is the worst company to insure you car.

State Farm denied roof claim after sequential hali and wind storms

On April 17, 2017, a strong microburst of wind came through our neighborhood in Eastern Tucson, causing extensive roof damage to many homes. Mine, like others had part of the flat roof pulled up. Farmers, my new insurance company, inspected the roof and was concerned that the damage happened earlier. Upon State Farm's inspection, they denied the claim being that there was less damage than my 1% of home value ($2760) deductible. All of this was true.

However, when the Allphase roofing contractor began to repair the roof, it was clear that the hail storm on 09/12/16 (when the home was covered by State Farm) damaged the roof far worse than was initially determined. The hail storm created small 'spidered' cracks in both the flat roof and the shingled portion of the roof allowing moisture intrusion for a period of over 6 months. The sheeting and woodwork under the roofing slowly absorbed the moisture; essentially rotting the roof from the underneath - thus the reason the wind rolled the roofing up in the first place due to the "rotten" wood. During this whole time, no water intruded through the wood and attic insulation to give us a hint that there had been roof damage. When the hail storm occurred, I was in Kazakhstan on a 90 day contract and did not personally inspect the roof.

At this point, Allphase called State Farm for a re-inspection of the roof to which they chose not to respond. With impending storms and the roof partially stripped off, there was no choice but to continue with the repairs. The further the work continued, the more damage was realized. Eventually, sufficient damage was found to determine by both Allphase, my wife, and me that we needed to have a full roof replacement. The work was completed on June 7, 2017.

I asked State Farm again to re-evaluate the damage from the photos since thy elected not to re-inspect the property, and they again denied the claim. I told them that I had no choice but to appeal it through the Arizona Insurance Commission to which they smugly and arrogantly responded to me, "If you want to, go ahead, it won't do you any good." She acted as if they run the Arizona Insurance Commission and that you were in their back pocket. This infuriated me and this is the reason that the documentation is so thorough. Besides being a degreed engineer, my father was a contractor and I know when the insurance companies are trying to play the run-around game. This is the run-around game.

Furthermore, my immediate neighbors, Ken and Marsha Jennings, with whom I share a yard wall, had similar damage from both the hail and the wind and their insurance company is paying 100% of their damage. I fail to understand why the Jennings' insurance is bending over backward for their claim and State Farm is being so difficult.

Because I only have one chance to upload documents, and the site so far does not give me notice of the size and quantity of the information, I will upload everything the site will allow me. I have numerous documents and photos of the work from the start to finish.

The only thing I ask from the commission is to really take a look at the damage and tell me that it should be covered. And, if you disagree, I will need to know the reasons in writing so that I can take it off of my State and Federal taxes as a loss due to act of God.

063017: I listened to the message left on my phone by Jesse Walden from State Farm dated June 29, 2017, to talk about the complaint written to the AZ Insurance Commission.

063017, 8:08 AM: I called the number Jesse Walden left for me to return his call [protected], and left a message for him to return the call to work 775-XXX-XXX. I repeated the number twice for clarity.

063017, 10:00 AM: The conversation with Jesse Walden went as expected. They must respond because I filed a complaint with the state. He denied any liability on the part of State Farm. When I told him that I will have to take it to Pima District Court, he laughed and said I could do what I wanted. He said that he would respond to the state and let them know that they do not see sufficient hail damage to justify paying the claim.

Inspection Summary

Allphase Construction was contacted to do a roof inspection at property. During the inspection Allphase confirmed hail damage was sustained from the Date of Loss on 9/12/2016. At that time Mr. & Mrs. Galbraith was advised to call their old insurance company State Farm to report the damage as the DOL was when they have coverage with State Farm. State Farm came out on 5/4/17 to do the inspection and found some damage.

After receiving the State Farm summary of loss from the Galbraith’s on 5/25/17 we noticed that State Farm was not covering the entire shingle roof or flat modified bitumen roof. At that time Allphase prepared an estimate for full roof replacement for the shingle roof and the modified bitumen flat roof. This roof replacement estimate was sent to State Farm on 5/26/17 along with 53 photos showing obvious hail damage.

At that time, we informed State Farm that the Galbraith’s were only going to be in town until 5/31/17 to do the re-inspection. Normally State Farm calls back within 48 hours of receiving documents in the claim file. State Farm failed to contact the Galbraith’s in that time frame to do the inspection or even acknowledge receipt of the roof replacement estimate.

On Saturday 6/3/17 Allphase replaced the flat modified bitumen roofing at that time during the tear off we discovered that the roofing material was saturated underneath and needed to be fully replaced to the decking per Tucson Building Code. The Shingle roofing material was tied into the flat roofing material and was saturated as well so that needed to be replaced also.

The damage sustained at the Galbraith’s home was caused from the DOL 9/12/16 see Hail Report attached. Due to State Farm not properly covering the roof when they were made aware of the situation on 5/4/17. The home sustained water damage and caused the roofing material to become saturated, affecting the reparability of the roof causing for full roof replacement.

Exterior Profile
Roof- 25 year composition laminated shingles installed on dwelling. Modified Bitumen & Elastomeric coating observed on attached flat roof.
Elevation soft metal- custom bent copper flashing & roof vents
Elevation skylight- holes and surface cracks in glass, dented metal on edges
Exterior Shed- composition 3-tab shingles installed on shed.

Observation and Inspection Dispute
Roof- Hail like damage found to all elevations on shingles, and flat roof. Hail damage was most likely due to the hailstorm from 9/12/2016 the hail storm confirmed quarter size hail at property. The hail like damage is consistent with the damage found on the soft metal roof vents and copper custom bent metal flashing and skylights.

Repairs
Allphase Construction replaced the flat roof on 6/2/17 for the property owner on Friday,
June 2nd. During the removal of the flat roof multiple layers were discovered and removed to the decking. During the removal of the flat roof we had to remove the multiple layer shingles as the material was tied into together and roofing materials was saturated from the hail penetrations.

Per City of Tucson Building Code Chapter 9 Roof Assemblies Section R 907.3 Recovering versus Replacement.
New roof coverings shall not be installed without first removing all existing layers of roof covering where any of the following conditions exist.
1. Where the existing roof or roof covering is water soaked or has deteriorated to the point that the existing roof or roof covering is not adequate as a base for additional roofing.
2. Where the existing roof covering is wood shake, slate, clay, cement or asbestos-cement tile.
3. Where the existing roof has two or more application of any type of roof covering.

Exceptions:
1. Complete and separate roofing systems, such as standing-seam metal roof systems, that are designed to transmit the roof loads directly to the building’s structural system and that do not rely on existing roofs and roof coverings for support, shall not require the removal of existing roof coverings.
2. Installation of metal panel, metal shingle and concrete and clay tile roof coverings over existing wood shake roofs shall be permitted when the application is in accordance with Section R907.4.
3. The application of new protective coating over existing spray polyurethane foam roofing systems shall be permitted without tear-off existing roof coverings.
4. Where the existing roof assembly includes an ice barrier membrane that is adhered to the roof deck, the existing ice barrier membrane shall be permitted to remain in place and covered with an additional layer of ice barrier membrane in accordance with Section R905.

Further Information
The Galbraith’s neighbors, Ken and Marsha Jennings, with whom their yard shares a wall, sustained similar damage and their insurance company (not State Farm) has been extremely responsive to the need of replacing their roof. Allphase is in the process of replacing their roof with complete, less deductible, coverage of the damage.

Conclusion

Allphase Construction replaced both shingle roofing and flat modified bitumen roofing as they were in fact hail damaged from DOL 9/12/2016. The entire removal and replacement took approximately one week to complete. Allphase properly indemnified the insured’s property located at 9368 E Hermosa Hills Drive Tucson, AZ 85710. The roofing material installed on the property has been replaced per building code and has a two-year workmanship warranty and a 25-year manufacture warranty.

State Farm changing agents

My agent in Vallejo, ca. Is Maria Zuniga, I started having problems there when she hired a young intern there, the intern isn't to Brite and lies alot, she can't get the information you give her right which ends up costing you more money, I took my truck up there so they could get the milage, the intern came out and looked at the milage wrote it down then went into the office and added an extra 20, 000 miles into the computer and that's just one of the things it's to many things to go on. Maria knows about this and nothing has changed. I asked Maria to switch me over to a different agent whom I spoke to as soon as I started having these problems seeing it wasn't going to be corrected by Maria. She said ok and that was over 5 months ago and it still hasn't been switched. Even my soon to be new agent contacted her and asked why it was taking so long, she couldn't give her a direct answer. I need to be switched asap. If you can't help just cancel my policies. You can get my info from Maria Zuniga in her Vallejo, ca office

State Farm sending me quotes based on numerous conversations, then trying to run my cc for more than my quotes.

I contacted State Farm Ins. Ryan Paulson Agency in Clackamas, OR. I spent several days going over my insurance info. including wanting a policy for a new home I am building, and coverage for 4 auto's that we own. I asked for full coverage at the same rate of coverage that I already have with another company (Safeco), but since my current company left me sitting on the side of the road for over 4 hours, and I purchased an additional New auto, I was considering switching companies. I contacted State Farm and we went thoroughly over all auto info. including my husband's info and the policy #'s etc. we currently have with Safeco. I compared info. from two other companies I researched, one of which did not offer the coverage for my "home under construction". The agent I had been dealing with(Spencer, at State Farm), who had sent me over the final quotes with the coverage's we discussed over several days, then asked for my payment info. I asked him to go over the charges again one final time, and he said they were exactly as my quotes that he sent over via email stated. I gave him my cc for the entire amount of auto and homeowners coverage's (of which I chose higher coverage's than the minimums). After a few minute's he called me back to tell me that he needed to run the card for $58.00 more than my quoted paperwork. I asked him why, and he said it was his mistake and that the difference COULD be due to him quoting me with an umbrella policy discount, that we had supposedly talked about over the phone and he said he was looking at when he quoted me! I told him that our earlier conversation did not include any discounts or premium quotes, as I said I was not interested in an umbrella quote or insurance at that time. I asked him to send me information showing what the additional $58 was really for, as my quotes showed no mention of what he was saying. He then said he could not send me anything as that could be considered fraud! I told him I would not authorize him to add the additional amt to my card without seeing what it was for. I asked him to have his boss (Ryan Paulson / Owner) contact me as this was very disturbing. Mr. Paulson did call me saying that he had not yet "looked into it" yet but said it could be. I fully explained what Spencer had told me, he said for me to follow-up with Derek in his office from then on. I called Derek Foster, also in his office with 19 years experience, and requested copies of quotes for Ins. and Derek then said my Homeowners policy was now $55.00 higher than my quote! I was very upset now and again asked him to send over the quotes reflecting what he was telling me, he then asked about a 2012 claim that was showing up on the acct. and I acknowledged that I had a small claim for a gate/guardrail 5 yrs. ago. Then Derek said it MAY be that the rate on homeowners had gone up due to that claim. I explained that Spencer had told me that the Auto Ins quote was up $58.00 and now he is saying my HOMEOWNERS quote/rate is now increased $55.00. I again asked him to SEND OVER THE QUOTES IN WRITING, and to ask Mr. Paulson to call us, since I did not hear from Mr. Paulson as he stated he would contact me early this a.m. (it's now 1:15 p.m.), and still no call from Mr. Paulson and no copies of quotes have been sent over showing the higher amounts they are wanting to charge on my credit card ! I have been shuffled around now by 3 different people in this agency, and I have spent several days doing my due diligence on choosing the coverage I feel I need... only now I sit and get nothing. I want this agency exposed for playing the shell game, and trying to charge higher than quoted rates on cc. I did not choose the insurance for the cheapest rate, I spent a lot of time and chose better coverage's, to meet my needs. IS THIS WHAT STATE FARM DOES, TO ACQUIRE HIGHER RATES? IS THIS NOT FRAUD? I have my documents that were sent to me by this agency reflecting valid rates. I have not had any accidents, I gave all info. requested, including my spouses info. and was told both of us were rated for coverage's on my quotes. Then AFTER the facts, they want to run higher amounts on cc and allude that it MAY be due to a previous very small ($1500.00) claim from 5 yrs. ago. SHAME ON STATE FARM. State Farm Ryan Paulson Agency IS NOT a reputable business. WATCH OUT!

State Farm refusal to discontinue auto insurance in writing

State Farm refuses to stop sending me monthly statements even though I sent the state farm office at 3475 Dallas Hwy SW, Ste 520, Marietta, Ga 30064 under Shannon Perren a witten cancellation notice and the office sent me back verification that they received the cancellation notice on December 25, 2016. They have called me on my phone during my work hours and text me several times and I told them that I was going with another cheaper policy with another company. Today is March 26, 2017 and they say that I owe them either $376.25 or $427.58. I am very concerned that they will come after me for this balance or place it on my credit report.

State Farm auto insurance policy

Holly Goodman State Farm Insurance Agent [protected] is HORRIBLE. Scam Artist. We did business for a year with her. No problems at all. We file a complaint and ask State Farm to transfer our policies to another office, and she blocks that and messes up our Policies.

She and her staff were HORRIBLE. Do NOT use her for any auto insurance or any type of business. Holly Goodman is absolutely crazy if she thinks people won't share their experience. It's not a crime to post reviews Holly.

State Farm unprofessional, disrespectful, and unethical claim representatives

My name is aubrey robinson, and I currently have an open total loss claim with state farm, with a claim # 3706193n2. Date of loss is 1/13/17.

I have been attempting to get this matter resolved for the last month and half, but the run around I am always subjected to is making it impossible.

First I was told that because my car was not in my name they would not be able to issue any kind of payment, unless I transferred the vehicle over to my name, which I did on 2/17/17. I was told to email in photographes of the transaction paperwork given to me by the department of motor vehicles stating this transaction was completed, which I did, and we were able to proceed with the claim.
I was given a dollar amount quoting what state farm believed to be the 'actual cash market value ' of my car before the loss, and in that same phone call, decided to accept that number, and was wanting to just proceed with the claim, and get everything done with.
However, the representative I was speaking with at this time, proceeded to tell me that "actually, they would not be able to issue payment until they recieved a copy of the actual title paperwork, stating I was in fact the correct registered owner of the car now. I quickly explained that I had already submitted the paperwork verifying the transaction, and been told that was what I would need to do to proceed. I was obligated to transfer the ownership over to my name, which I did, but now they were changing the requirements on me and saying that they would need the actual title, which I did not have because the dmv takes weeks to provide these documents, and that is outside the realm of my personal obligation.
The representative began getting rude, so I requested to speak with her supervisor, she placed me on a brief hold, and returned to the line apologizing for her mistake, saying that I was correct, and they would be able to issue the payment with no further issue at that point.

In the following days, I recieved a summery in the us postal service, of how state farm determined the 'actual cash market value' of my vehicle, since it was considered a total loss, and hence forth discovered that the comparable vehicles were not even the same model as my car, and therefor I did not feel that the determined 'actual cash market value' amount they were reporting was correct. I called the department handling my claim, and requested a stop payment on the electronic funds transfer, and explained my standpoint, and requested that a new evaluation be done, and this time with the correct comparable vehicles. At this time I also gathered up all my receipts from past work I have done to this vehicle over the time I have owned it, ranging from things like performance suspension and a lowering kit being installed, to a rebuilt transmission, all the way to a new clutch, new egr valve, and heater air ratio sensor. Which totaled well over $3, 500.
Once I submitted all that stuff through email, I just waited to be contacted back by a representative, which never happened.
Finally yesterday 3.1.17, I called in inquiring about the situation.
The representative was extremely rude, had no clue what they were even talking about, kept reporting previous status updates with my claim, and it took me having to explain the entire situation in full length to this person to even get anywhere, and then I found out that none of my receipts or anything I had submitted had even been added to my file yet, nothing had been done at all. So, again I had to wait untill today 3.2.17 to call back and inquire of the standings.
I began making these phone calls at about 2:30 pm this afternoon. The first time I called, I reached someone named travis - who was very polite, nd helpful, and did inform me of the updated estimate of actual cash market value had come in. After doing further reading however, and speaking with me, he discovered that my receipts for all the work had not been added in though, and he would have to get that updated to be able to give me a correct evaluation.
He offered to call me back. I was then, and am currently at work myself, and when he called back I missed his phone call, soon as I had a free moment to return the call I did.
I reached a rep by the name of denis thid time, and I knew immediately by this person's voice that I have spoken to him previously and had issues. I was not comfortable speaking with him again. I told him this, and requested to be transferred to a different representative. He was very very rude, unprofessional, and un business like, and instead of handing me over to a different rep as I had requested, he actually forwarded me to a washington operator of some sort, that had absolutely no correlation with state farm whatsoever.
I had to hang up, and call back. This time I reached another gentleman by the name of mark. I was very upset at this point, and asked how I would go about filing a complaint? Mark proceeded to tell me that there were no notes what so ever to back up my "fictitious claim" (His words) against the previous rep dennis, and he" wasn't sure what exactly it was that he could even help me with" - at this point I began getting even more upset. I felt like, the moment he knew that I was losing patience, he began to patronize me, and talk down to me. I had, had enough and asked to again be put on the phone with a supervisor. He denied my request, refused to transfer my call, and acted like he couldn't even get my claim open to look into the things I was wanting to know. I was so exasperated and fed up after all this, and I asked him, "will you just please help me?" I said, "nevermind anything else right now, can you please just look into my claim and help me get that figured out!? " he said, "well thats what I have been trying to do all along, what is it that I can help you with?" like, he couldn't comprehend anything I was saying, or like I wasn't speaking english or something! I was just dumbfounded at this point, and told him all I am trying to figure out is the status of my claim - thats it! He replied by saying, "well it looks like we're still waiting for you to get the vehicle in your name"...

That was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. I told him that no actually, we were way past that, and if he was not competent enough to get current with my file, to please transfer me to someone that was.
He rudely cut me off in mid sentence, and spoke to me as if he were my authority figure, then threatened me, saying that clearly I was too worked up, and could not continue with the conversation, so he was going to terminate the phone call and I would have to call back tomorrow after I have cooled down, and disconnected.

I have never been treated so poorly by a professional team in my whole life! The fact that every time I call inquiring of my status, and nobody ever seems to know what is going on with anything, is extremely irritating in itself, but combine that with the blatant lack of respect and just common decency, and not just by 1 or 2 people with in this department, but multiples. It disgusting and appalling to me.
After I was hung up on for the second time today, I searched the internet for a number to call and file a complaint. Called the 1.800 statefarm number, ended up on the line with another woman representative from a different department. I told her my reason for calling, and asked that she assist me in my direction to file this complaint.
She took my claim number, opened my file, and proceeded to tell me that my claim is handled by the express total loss department, and she could transfer me if I wanted. I had to tell her that I already knew what department my claim was with, that was the department I wanted to file the complaint about!
She said she would assist me in rectifying the situation, yet she placed me on hold and left me there for well over 30 mins, finally I just ended up hanging up the phone! So I got absolutely no help once again!

I called the claims department back again, for a third time, hoping to reach a rep that I would actually be able to talk to this time, and that would be helpful and nice. Unfortunately, this is not what happened.
My call was answered by a different gentleman this time, by the name of alan I believe. It took him forever to even open up my claim, and then when he did, and I told him what I was wanting to know, he gave me a completely wrong quote, and I even informed him of this, at which point he proceeded to argue with me, and tell me how wrong I was, and that he would know because he used to race cars and build them, so even though I submitted receipts for $3, 500 worth of work I have done on my car, it wouldn't raise the cash market value at all, infact it would probably do the opposite. I kept telling him over and over that I knew the number he was quoting me was not right, and maybe he needed to refresh his computer screen possibly? It's like he just wouldn't hear a word I was saying! I was near tears at this point from frustration, and as a last ditch effort pleaded with him to please transfer me to someone else, anyone else that would be able to help me before the day ended, or a supervisor. He told me that he was the supervisor, there was no one else above him there, but he did finally transfer me over to a different location, and my call was answered by a debrah hadly in the washington department.

I had to run through the entire scenario yet again for her, and then tell her what exactly it was that I was wanting. I was so upset and frustrated by this point, and all I wanted to do was resolve the claim and move on.
She was helpful as far as that goes. She did find the correct estimate of new actual cash market value. We then began the finalizing stages. She stopped and said that the last thing she would need to do before issuing the payment though, was receive a copy of the new title. So - after everything else I had gone through today, I was back, yet again, at this point with a new representative!
I explained the situation, and that I had already been through this, and it had already been stated by a supervisor there, when issuing the previous payment that I had stopped, that her statement was incorrect, and that what I have already done as far as transferring the vehicle over to my name, and providing that documentation, I was told, met the qualifications and requirements per oregon state law for insurance payouts on claims. I had already been told that no, I did not have to wait for the dmv to send me the new title, that the paperwork they had given me as a temporary title was sufficient, and that is why the previous payment had been issued. I even gave her the exact date that this phone conversation would have taken place, to make it easier to go back through all the notes and logs and see what I was referring to.

She then started getting rude, and not helpfull at all any more. She kept telling me that she couldn't see any notes like that what so ever in the computer, and treated me as if I was lying. I told her to put her manager or supervisor on the phone immediately!

I sat on hold for another hour and 45 mins waiting for a manager or someone from the leadership team to pick up my call.

Finally a tm by the name of sue hadley with an alias of ghlx got on the line, and told me that she had reviewed my file, and that the person that gave the authorization to issue the previous payment, did not actually have that authorization to do so, and that should not have been done, and that until they recieved the actual title, they would not finish processing my claim.

The overall lack of professionalism, and complete just disrespect that I have recieved today from all these state farm agents, is so uncalled for, and nobody that works with in any kind of professional setting, especially a setting that is dealing with people's lives and assets - should ever be allowed to mistreat people as I have been today.

State farm is the worst insurance company I have ever had to deal with, and I would never ever recommend them to anybody.
I have been humiliated, threatened, talked down to as if I were a child, called a liar, treated as if I am some vagrant just making up false accusations, and just over all degraded in multiple ways.

It is not my fault that nobody can seem to keep the information straight, or that everybody tells me something different. I have done everything that has been requested of me in this claim, and I should absolutely not be penalized because someone does not agree with the information I have been given by someone else. All that is not my problem.

As resolution to this issue, I want my claim resolved and payment issued immediately, as state farm is obligated to do. I would also like for the representatives that treated me so poorly today to receive some kind of disciplinary action or even suspension. Some form of reprimandation for the treatment.
I am quit sure that I am not the only person who gets treated so badly by this department or by this corporation period. It is not acceptable to treat people this way.

State Farm automobile insurance

I transferred my auto insurance policy from KS to VA. My KS agent put me in contact with a Virginia Beach agent and provided him my information. The Virginia Beach Agent upon transferring my information from KS which included me and my daughter in the policy failed to include my daughter and only quoted me for a policy for myself. However, the agent did not notify me he was providing a quote for only me and not my daughter. The amount I was being asked to pay was close to the rate in KS so I was not aware that I should be asking more questions to make sure the insurance policy was transferred correctly and mirrored the policy I had in KS.

Later I start to receive bills with increasing amounts in Nov. and Dec. I am not certain as to why the increase so in December I cancelled my policy and went with Geico saving over $200 per month. However, once I cancelled my policy I inquired regarding the install payment I paid and the amount of refund or credit due. I later learned that upon transferring my account from KS to VA the agent failed to include my daughter and now I was being back billed on the account and therefore the install payment I made was being used towards back billing that I was not aware of and was not my mistake. I tried on several occasions to reconcile my concern. If I had been notified on the date of transfer from KS that I was going to be billed $344 for auto insurance I would have never accepted the policy. I was forced to accept this amount as my information was not transferred correctly and I was not notified upon my account transfer that the rate was increasing by over $100.

When I contacted the agent regarding the issue they were not willing to research the details of the changes in my account and the actions taken upon my transfer. I submitted to them support of my insurance in KS and asked for a follow-up. They have not responded after several attempts to contact them. The Statefarm agent screwed up my transfer and there was no reconciliation regarding the matter.

Agents Office:
Sharon Lynch (head agent) 757.430.9000
Hillary Long (contacted on several occasions to reconcile issue)
Joseph Farrauto (agent who wrote my policy incorrectly upon transfer)

There should be some sort of concession for this matter as my records were not transferred correctly and I was not notified prior to accepting the policy that my bill was going to increase. I feel I was duped and I paid the price. I work hard for my money and seek ways to save. Because of the agents failure I was taken for more than what I should have been expending. I am asking for an account credit for my troubles in this matter. As the carelessness of the agents cost me more than what I would have spent otherwise. Your consideration in this matter is greatly appreciated.

P.S. I still have other insurances not with this agent. However, after this encounter I have been seriously considering cancelling everything. I took a lot of time from my job to call the Statefarm agent to reconcile this issue to no avail. I would appreciate a credit for my troubles that were the mistake of the office and not my own.
