Job number 499679 You want us to sign a check for $36.00 for damages of $600? I don’t think so. You are as stupid as the immigrant movers you send. They damaged or lost important household valuables that we looked up the prices and sent you pictures of. You should be driven out of business! No on should ever use you! It would have been cheaper for us to sell or stuff and buy not when we got to the other state.
Desired outcome: HORRIBLE!!
processing of damage claim from official van lines move
As per other complaints on this site, Anthem Claims Management (ACM) is basically a front company created to limit damage claims from unreliable moving companies. I thought I had done my due diligence when I contracted with Official Van Lines- boy was I wrong.
In my case, the whole claims exercise is designed to do nothing but frustrate customers until they give up. Specifically I was told on several occasions by Official Van Lines, also an unreliable company, that I had 9 months to file a claim. I was originally instructed to submit a claim to Official Van Lines, the strategy there is just not to respond to the email. When when there was no response from Official Van Lines, I started followed up and was given the information for ACM to file the claim.
When the driver delivered my belongings, he insisted that I sign the inventory sheet before he left- pretty standard practice in the industry. On the comment section of each page there is a big note- damages pending. There is no way a complete inventory of damage can be compiled during the unloading process. After a very frustrating process- designed only to delay any action, ACM decided that because I did not have the opportunity to do a complete inventory by the time the driver insisted on me signing the inventory sheet, my claims were voided.
If ACM were a legitimate company and this were a legitimate response, they would have said the claim was voided months ago when they received a copy of the inventory sheet. This is nothing more than another tactic to avoid paying claims. Also- the arbitration company ACM will refer you to for appeals, they are a shame company like Official Van Lines and ACM. Save yourself time and trouble.
Lost Items
I used Best Price Moving & Storage to move from Illinois to New York. It was the worst company I ever dealt with. Items were lost, broken and damaged, they were sent from Chicago to Las Vegas then to me and they claim to have insurance that covers all of it and the company just sent me a letter stating that they are not an insurance company. The company is Anthem Claims Management, 2351 W. Momorial Court, Anthem, AZ 85086 and they claim being that I packed it they are not responsible. I have boxes that are missing and a Jazzy wheel chair that was damaged, a grill and a lot of other things. I still haven't heard if they are going to pay me for anything at all but the damage is over $1000.00 and they have no phone # on the letter they sent me.

Failure to pay clams
Both companies are fraudulet. Interstate charged me over 200% of the move quote. Held my furniture hostage until paid.
In addition, damages came to over $4, 000 dollars on my furniture. They only gave me the nmeof Antem Claim Mgmt. who offerre me around 126.00 to settle-even before they hadth entire claim. The are all in this together- along with Baker Moving Network out of California. I am stllaiting on a settlment. The number for claims on th bck of Intrstates correspondence is not a workingnumber.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Anthem Claims Management - Claims
Pn May 31, 2008 Authorized Movers picked up my household goods in Nebo, NC to be delivered in IL within 2-3 days. After many many phone calls and many excuses on their part (including that the drivers was deported, they didn't have a key for the truck, to finally they could not find my things.) On September 15, I got a call from a man in NJ. He said he had...

Don' t use Budget Van Lines. They are a broker even though they have they use "Van Lines" in their name. They broker you to another company who picks up your things. They sent Star Box Van Lines to pick up my items. Star Box charge us 3 times what Budget quoted us and wanted cash. Then when they delivered, they stuffed things in my garage and I wa...

Anthem Claim Management (ACM) is a third party, household goods claim administrator, hired by Mr. Margrif's moving company (Carrier) to process transit related damage/loss claims. ACM is not an insurance company or a moving company.
Mr. Margrif filed a claim which was acknowledged within 2 weeks of receipt and processed within 30 days, well within the 120-day window permitted by federal law. The claim was reviewed by a qualified analyst, certified by the American Moving & Storage Association (now the American Trucking Association). The coverage recommended was consistent with the Carrier’s tariff, including published exclusions, and the level of valuation coverage selected on the bill of lading. In the present case, Mr. Margrif selected the free limited liability valuation coverage, which establishes the maximum carrier liability at $0.60 per pound, per article, for eligible items.
ACM is required to adhere to the contract terms, including the level of coverage selected by the customer and published exclusions, and may only consider actual damage when processing claims. ACM cannot recommend coverage exceeding the contract terms. Mr. Margrif has been made aware of his right to pursue arbitration with their mover.
