I had a 3 months subscription at Prime-Date as a residence in Norway. A well hidden rule says that you must cancel your subscription 6 weeks before this 3 months period expires to avoid renewal. I did not see that rule (and I doubt many other do), so they extended my subscription for 6 months which I had to pay for. They threatened to make legal requirements applicable. Then I canceled my membership in order not to forget it next time (6 week before next expiration). Then Prime-Date then deleted my profile, so I do not receive any dating offers anymore. but they kept the money. I have contacted them in Germany via email, but they do not reply. Their online dating service is poor compared to other dating services where they stop sending you dating offers when your membership expires. Profile ID at Prime-Date: 3QPL4

Hei, du må sende en utmelding så snart som mulig til svindelfirmaet Prime-Date. Minst 6 uker før medlemskapet går ut.
Etter det jeg har forstått, så kan blant annet afrikanske damer være medlemmer gratis. Der nede har de egne call centers hvor damene sitter og kontakter menn fra Europa eller USA for å lure dem for penger.
Det skulle ikke forundre meg om det er negre (beklager et politisk ukorrekt ord, men det passer her) som driver Prime-Date.

Politiannmeld saken og bytt kredittkort. Sendte mail der jeg forteller de at jeg ikke betaler og at saken erpolitianmeldt og anmeldelse dvs kopi sendt til alle store mediahus i EU. Skriv også at du anmelder saksbehandler for brudd på norsk lovgivning, og vis til at du ikke er redd for å bringe saken inn for EUROPOL.

I will pay just to don't get bothered any more. But I will not pay putting my details in their system anymore, I will make a bank wire transfer, I guess is more safe also to keep the proof of the payment itself.. I hope I am on the right page :)

If you pay and send the fax it will stop yes. This is true. On the other hand they will just keep emailing you every 3 months if you dont. It is up to you. Pay it now and it will go away. Dont pay and they will just send reminders. Change your email and you will not hear anything. If they were serious they would have contacted you with a letter etc.

I have not paid it and regardless on how many threats etc i have not received any bills in the post or any request from their law department. This is basically the dating version of the scam. Yes if you pay and send a fax you will not hear anything. I have not seen anything in months from them. They wanted me to pay more than twice of my original fee and for a full year. then when i refused they made the same suggestion they made towards you. Pay half and they will forget about it. Also they only have your email etc. They do not have your street address etc. If they were really serious you would have received a letter on this case. Check other forums and you will see that most people do not pay, but they continue with this as some do still pay.

Hi everyone,
Same for me, I paid 3 months (1000 Nok). Those 3 months expired in sept 2013, now, after one month from expiration, I receive an email asking 2400 Nok, but it also say that they wish to settle the situation with 1, 200 Nok.
Should I pay and then send the fax, or the other way around?
If I pay and send the fax ( with all info mentioned above)' will I solve this issue?

Hi. No they keep sending the email every 2-3 months or so. All with the same demand. They do not respond.to any of emails. Their threats are useless as we in norway are not bound by this law that they are showing nor does the impact of adding your name to this credit register. No lawyer would even bother starting a case for such a low amount. If they were they would ha e sent something by post. All info has been through emails. It is like a dating version of a nigerian scam. I have seen many pages on the net regarding the complaints of this site. All the women that "contacted" me on this site was fakes as well. I have access go tracking software etc and their ip dont match were they say they are from. Complainkng to prime date did not do anything as they do not care.

Hi there, glad to see I am not the only one that seems to have run afoul with this company. Tomabra, did they do anything else than just sending you email? Or did they stop after a while?

Hi. I agree. I have no intention of paying for the subscription. I bought a 6 months subscription. The fun part was that when they renewed it they renewed it to a 1 year subscription. Then they want me to pay for this even though their webpage does not given any info regarding upgrading of the subscription. I keep getting a email every month with these threaths. I always answer back with questions and never get a reply. I have kept all the emails and printscreen of the details on their webpage to show i registered 21 of April 2012 and it renewed in October 2012. As they are sending me emails in Norwegian, i am answering in Norwegian. If they cannot read it then they should enver send an email in this language. The page says "Tilgang til de avgiftsbelagte tjenestene iht. paragraf 2 (5) og tilsvarende kontraktsforhold iht. paragraf 3 (3) forlenges automatisk på slutten av den kjøpte tilgangsperioden med den valgte eller angitte løpetiden (f.eks. 3 eller 6 måneder), med mindre kunden hever kontrakten seks uker før tilgangsperioden utløper eller innen en annen tidsfrist som er valgt ved kjøp av en annen avgiftsbelagt tjeneste." But they are in fact doubeling it. They did send me an email in February informing me that i could only pay 50% and close the case so it does not seem so truthful from their part either. There are also limits to what companies in other countries will bother going to lawsuits for outside their own country for amounts below 4000 NOK. That they have blacklisted me in the German Credit system i do not really care about. So basically keep all emails and communication if in a blue moon they would actually do anything. Considering all the woamn i came in contact with on the page were attempting fraud does not boast well either.

I have had the same experience. Put my credit card down for 140NOK for a 2 week trial membership. The few attempts I made to make contact, there was no reply, so I obviously suspect non-existent members to glorify the site. 2 weeks later they deducted 1500NOK! I think I will swallow the 1500, and follow the step-by-step on cancellation (thanks for the tip, Remi)
Anyone in Norway wish to pursue this to Forbrukerrådet? TV2 hjelper deg? It may be a long road to travel, but I am definitely supportive.

Hi there. I'm just in the same boat as you but I have gone to sort of a war against them. I have gone to "Forbruger-Europa". which is organisation where you can complain about companies if you feel you have been treated unfair. I got first a bill for 1050 DKR and then one for 2300 kr. but I have refused to pay as they haven't send any notice that I did owe them money. I don't give up like this and the solicitor I spoke said that I had a good case against them. If you live within the EU then you can use this organisation and it's for free as long as the case concerns more than 500 DKR.

Er samme båt med dette firmaet, jeg måtte sperre kreditt kortet da de trakk først 1495 kr og så 2800 kr. Har bestilt nytt. Måtte sende over mine pappirer og mail som jeg har sendt prime date, (selvfølgelig uten svar) til kredittkort firmaet og meldte dem som useriøse. Skal også til politiet i morgen og anmelde saken.
Jeg gikk ogå på en 3 mån.

i can write this in english..i did buy from them 1 months memebership. I have complained without getting any answer, that nothing they write correspods with reality. 2 weks after i have demanded my money back for the 1 month membeship. They threatening with "incasso" and demand one years membership even if i never had any service from them after the first month. I am refusing to pay them! Did anyone experience that they went further with incasso? This is direct mafia group and they should be forced to stop advertising in Norway!

Hei (Spec). Jeg klarte å bli kvitt disse folka det tok meg ca 10 Dager, men nå som jeg vet prosedyren, burde dette ta 1-3 Dager eller mindre. Det eneste jeg kan si er at det koster, kontrakten vi "Godkjente" er dessverre så luguber/tvilsom at den stripper deg for stort sett alle rettigheter, dessuten står det med så liten skrift gjemt mellom paragrafer at du må si opp medlemskapet etter så så lang tid (6 Uker i forveien) Jeg råder alle som ønsker å bli kvitt sitt medlemskap til å si opp før tidsfristen !

Kontrakten sier at du skal si opp et premium-medlemskap via FAX, Okey. Det jeg gjorde var at jeg Faxet et oppsiggelses brev til dem skrevet på Engelsk med tittel (Cansellation Letter). Prime-Date.no er egentlig et Tysk selskap med kontor i Hamburg så Engelsk og Tysk oppsigelse er å foretrekke for dem. Men Jeg kan gi deg dere et råd/oppskrift hvordan jeg ble kvitt medlemskapet.

1# FAX over en oppsigelse med ID, Navn og Adresse samt et bilde som vedlegg. Sørg for å få med din Prime-Date ID og Passord.
2# Skriv i oppsigelsesbrevet at du ikke bare ønsker å avslutte medlemskapet men også ønsker å slette kontoen din fullstendig, Sørg for å få med en signatur. Hvis du ikke gjør det vil de sende deg en mail at medlemskapet ditt vil bli kansellert etter at oppkjøpte medlemskap er avsluttet om (3/6 Måneder) Etter dette får du et basismedlemskap. Så skriv i brevet tydelig at du ønsker å få slettet kontoen din. Husk også å oppgi din E-post adresse den du brukte da du ble medlem.

3# Etter du har FAXet så ta å send en e.post til dem om de har mottat din FAX (Noter ned, hvor og når du sente FAXen)
Etter en stund 1-5 Dager (er ikke sikker) vil du få en E-post som bekrefter at medlemskapet ditt er avsluttet.

Ps: (Dialekt) ta å skriv ne på arket at du har señt en kopi tell Mr "Tor Erling staff" og eller tell diñ lokale "Onkel" om du skjønna ka æ meina ;) Håpa d hær hjælp litt da ! Du får kansje ikkje pængan tebake men du blir kvitt d hær nettgreia. Og det e godt nok før mæ.
Før dokker andre løkka tell med kampen om å få pængan tebake, men i det minste Æ har nu fred. Ta vare på alle bekreftelser, E-post, tidspunkt. ikkje slætt dæm, håll et godt øye med kredittkortet ! Bære husk å si opp medlemskapet før Tidsfristen !

Jeg vant kampen men jeg tapte Krigen, "###-Happens" Men, ingen nettside skal få meg til å fremstå som "Utro" eller "Vil være Utro" dermed basta ! Vi er menn på leting etter en å dele livet med (Single). Vi har litt ære i blodet vi også, og vi har absolut ingen ambisjoner om å være Utro. Så til dere andre som slitter med å si opp medlemskapet, Stå på, dere klarer det. Og lykke til videre med Kjærligheten :)

Hei Remi. Leste ditt innlegg og er helt enig. Jeg gjorde det samme ssom deg. Ble tilbudt et medlemskap på 1 mnd...synes det var greit og betalte for den. Så ble jeg oppmerksom på at de etterpå hadde trukket 3 mnd til fra min bankkonto. Jeg gikk da inn å slettet min profil, men uten hell. Så jeg makulerte mitt bankort slik at de ikke fikk trukket mer fra det. (Fikk nytt fra banken) Dette var for ca 3 mnd siden. Igår fikk jeg en e-mail hvor de forklarte at de ikke hadde fått trukket mitt medlemskap for nye 3 mnd. De sendte med en faktura hvor jeg ble bedt om å innbetale den innen 5 virkedger, ellers ville det bli veldig dyrt for meg med nye omkostninger ol.
Jeg vurder dette selskapet som ren svindel, for jeg opplevde det samme som deg når det gjelder henvendelser fra damer. Bare rent tull alt sammen. Men jeg har lest igjennom deres betingelser hvor de skriver at etter tegning av abonement så vil det automatisk ble trukket for 3 nye mnd. Så, vel, vi er vel noen idioter som lar oss lure men å bli svndlet er jeg ikke med på. Jeg kommer ikke til å betale den fakturaen de sendte, skal bli int å se hva de akter å gjøre vidre med dette. Møter de gjerne i forliksrådet om detb bilr aktuelt. Noen andre so kjenner seg igjen her?..Hører gjerne ifra dere ang synspunkter. Send gjerne en mail til meg : spes02@hotmail.com

Jeg ser at og skrive paa norsk blir tungvint siden de ikke har norske bokstaver: Engelsk da. Hei Kjell i have experienced the same as you, they started to treaten me that if i not did pay, they will go to "court" and maybe sue me. But i have my payed my amout of 2094 NOK. Just how did you manage to get ridd of them ? Did you send them a FAX with all your ID, and after some time they stopped. I am sorry that i have to remind you again of this awfull anoying topic, but pleace help ! I hope you can answer my mail.

Hei Kjell jeg ser at du er Norsk derfor velger jeg også og skrive på Norsk. Jeg er akkurat nå blitt uttsatt for akkurat det samme, de truet meg med domstoll og Inkasso så da satte jeg inn 2094 NOK for få fred. Har prøvd å nå dem på E-post, men det er håpløst. Ser at det finnes mange av oss hær ute både i Sverige, og Danmark. Jeg må spørre deg. Hva gjorde du får å få slutt på dette ? Sendte du FAX, med bilde identiteskort og helle pakken, eller var det bare en Primedateknapp du trengte og huke av ?. Skrev du oppsigelsen på Norsk eller Engelsk ?
