PrepLogic PREPLOGIC – UNETHICAL PRACTICES!

PREPLOGIC – UNETHICAL PRACTICES!
I agreed to and it was my full intent to undertake a TRAIL OPTION on the 'Ultimate Access' in agreement of a possible purchase thereafter. 5 days prior to the trail period/window, I asked for a termination and informed them through various channels that I was not interested in continuing and expected no further deduction from my account; but would look to make further purchases in the future. I got a response from the sales agent I originally dealt with proposing another ‘SALES’ offer, which I politely/rightfully declined. Thereafter, 3 days after the window period expired, I got a call from my bank's fraud department to be told that PREPLOGIC were billing me, which worked out to around 25% of the overall purchase price for $199/month for 1 year (25% of the full ultimate access package: $199*12=$2388*0.25= +-$597 debited from my account), which they claim is a 25% return policy fee - For what, to cancel a deal I never agreed to and so that one employee can push a button to terminate the so called/proposed demo/purchase?
When talking to the sales agent on the phone, I was always given the impression that if I paid an extra $50 (Confirmed via e-mail) on an original purchase that I could 'DEMO' (not purchase) there library option and if not satisfied I could terminate with ‘no questions asked’. However, if you do the math, regardless of the – ‘only pay $50 extra for the demo, sales pitch’, you will always end up either paying the full amount or a 25% return fee if PrepLogic process it as purchase and not a demo/ trail for the ‘Ultimate access’ package – So the ‘only pay $50 extra’ pitch is a complete MISPREPRESENTAION and the sales agents fail to disclose all vital information that is relevant to your agreement – i.e. We are actually processing a purchase, not a demo, therefore regardless, you are expected to pay a lot more that $50 and ‘we won’t bother mentioning things like our 25% return policy fee on purchase’, because that may just scare off a client and I (the sales agent) and PREPLOGIC will lose commission and a sale! This is disgusting business practice that needs to be put to an abrupt end – None of these dodgy dealings could fall within company best practice or a ‘consumer protection act’ or the like. And the sad reality is that PREPLOGIC has a great product, but is short-sighted and greedy enough to burn their brand for what is ultimately a small amount of money to them at the end of the day. If this is how short-sighted their management is, they will never get any recommendations, will lose clientele, only gain bad press for their unethical behaviour and will need much deeper ‘marketing budget pockets’!
They are now trying everything under the sun to retain my money that was taken off my credit card even after authorisation was declined. PREPLOGIC is attempting ‘negotiate’ (meet us half way approach – more like force) a sale under duress in order to retain my unauthorised transaction! I have declined any settlement of this nature and am only willing to pay the agreed $50 on the demo and expect a full return of all outstanding moneys rightfully owning to me. I have also made contact with various regulatory bodies and these may be of assistance to anyone out there that is having to deal with such uncouth business and fraudulent practices–

PrepLogic Lack of Support / Harrassment

Hi Everyone,

BEWARE! DO NOT TRUST PREPLOGIC! BEWARE!

I was unemployed but could NOT pass up the offer they had of $1 for 30 days access. Sure! No problem. I can cancel at the end of the 30 days.

I enrolled and started watching the Cisco IIUC series. I finished the series on day 26. They offered a free completion certification by clicking on an icon. Since I was unemployed and currently doing interviews, I thought it would be a GREAT idea to take a copy of the certificate with me on my next interview.

However, it would NOT load so I could print it out. I called support (and logged tickets online) with PrepLogic. I did have a young lady call me back one time and told me that she would try and get the certificate printed for me and would mail it to me. I thought GREAT! I told her that I was close to the 30 days and that I was planning on cancelling but I would resubscribe once I got a job.

NADA. No support. No communications. No certificate. No emails... for days.

I go to login to see if they fixed it so I could print out the certificate. My account was blocked and I could NO LONGER login.

I called to see if I could get a copy and they informed me that I went over the 30 days and that I owed $700+ dollars. I told them, "No, I do NOT!".

I have received PHONE CALLS from Michelle EVERY DAY for MONTHS NOW! They even threatened me with a lawyer.

I've gone and talked to a lawyer and if they persue legal action, I will counter-sue them for all of my cost and legal fees. This is outrageous.

The sad thing is that I would still be an active paying customer if they would have treated me with respect, realized that THEY are the ones that had the problem, and worked something out with me. Instead, I receive day after day of harassing phone calls. I can't wait to tell a judge/jury my side of the story. With printouts of others complaints from here, they will be laughed out of court.

Fortunately, I took screen caps of EVERYTHING and every conversation. I have records of the entire process and what exactly happened. However, I'm not going to post it here until I find out if legal action is required.

I can't believe they get away with this type of extorsion. Anyone interested in joining together to file a class-action suit? I'll be happy to drive it. Good Luck!

PrepLogic Total scam

I paid $50 for a 30 day trial of their online video series. Despite trying to cancel several times online during the 30 day period, today(day 33) I noticed a bill for $240 on my Chase credit card (transaction #25140611169002997599829). I called prepogic immediately! I was told that I'm locked into a 2 year contract with them at a $2700 expense, . I told them that I cancelled online/. They said they had no record of the cancellation, and I was told that there's nothing that I can do, that I have pay them or risk a negative credit rating/. I spent several hours on the phone only confirming the fact that I should have avoided Preplogic! These people are scam artists. They are more focused on sticking you with a bill than providing you with useful training materials . This isn't a $20 transactaion; it's almost $3000!. What kind of company locks you into a punitive contract for 2 years after 30 days!? In these uncertain economic times, I'm shocked that these unethical snake oil scam houses can still conduct business. Preplogic customer service is worse than the DMV. They took hours to return my call. I have left numberous voicemails with customer service reps but they are not interested in solving my problem; they are interested in taking my money and scoffing at my family's suffering since we cannot afford this service.

Joseph, do the same as I did. I called my credit card company and disputed all charges; thanks God they were reversed. And then cancel the credit card. Preplogic can not take you to court or do any legat steps agains you since it was very illicit the the way the got you bonded to that contract. Probably, they are going to send you nasty emails' and I did the same thing too. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. I found on the internet complaints about thise people calling and emailing me and copied and pasted them in an email and sent them to them. they do not like when I do that. Now, they keep telling me that theywant to talk to me in a very nice manner. But I want absolutely nothing to do with them. Hope this help. I also filed a complaint with BBB ands attorney general in tampa florida. Hope this help.

PrepLogic Be careful of this company. Its a scam

I tried to cancel my transaction with this company after realizing it was not what i wanted but could not get any one to help. Contact Phone numbers don't work and one 800 number gave me the runaround until when My card was charged and i used the number on my credit card bill, before getting a voicemail that sounded like somebody's personal mailbox. I left a message and my difficulties in taking off the charges from my card, it took the lady three days to call and left a message, that she could not help me since my 30 day trial period had past.

Please, stay clear from this fraudulent business practices. preplogic is a scam!

PrepLogic Refuses to cancel 30day trial

After months of harrassment by them getting me to try out their training products on a 30 day trial I succumbed. However they refused to accept that I cancelled using their tickeing system even though I sent them a screen shot and sent a mail to the sales representitive saying that I sent a ticket to cancel but have had no response. My credit card company is dealing with this now.

I am very dissapointed with this company. They must be desperate enough to do this and I hope a class action is made against them soon to stop them trading.

By the way I recommend Cisco Networking Academy for CCNA and IT Essentials if anyone is thinking of both distance and classroom learning.

PrepLogic Scam

Prep Logic *** you in with a "Free" 30-day trial. At this point they lull you to sleep with a 15 minute reading of the terms and conditions. Well hidden in the terms and conditions is the fact that you are authorizing them to charge you as they see fit. It does not matter what your salesperson tells you, you will be charged in full 30 days from the date you agree to the "Free" 30-day trial.

Do NOT agree to ANY THING unless you are absolutely 100% ready to purchase the full package. There are absolutely NO special deals, NO payment plans, NO financing terms and most importantly NO refunds.

Their product is fairly decent, so I do not understand why they insist on tricking people into thinking they are just signing up for a trial. I've read several reviews of single, unemployed mothers who were promised a payment plan by their sales person, only to be charged in full at the end of the 30-day trial.

I myself tried to go through my credit card company and have the charges reversed, but lost that battle. Again, be careful, do not give them ANY of your information unless you are 100% ready to pay the $3, 000 program fee.

PrepLogic stolen money

My name is Adi and I come from Bosnia and Herzegovina. I have a problem with Preplogic company and ask you for help.
A bit more than 30 days I came in contact with preplogic company because I was interested in their offer "Unlimited offer". When I heard of their employees is the amount, I wanted to give up because I really do not have 3.000 $. In the end I was persuaded to take a test period of 30 days from $ 99. During these 30 days I sent a mail to their employees (Donnie) where I said that I want to cancel their bid because I have no money.
On Thursday, 09/09 I received information that their company took all the money from my debit card and their staff called me on the phone and say that I have to pay. I was really sorry that I can not to pay and to continue with their offer because I would like to advance in my career and increase my knowledge with their materials. Now I have no money to pay credit bills or for college.
Please help me to back my money!

PrepLogic Fraudulent charges/Poor customer service

Beware this outfit. They are VERY POOR customer service, and will take 2500.00 out of your account whenever they please, if you allow them access to your account. They are pushing a 2 year leaning program, they want 99.00 to start, and the 198.00 monthly, but in my case they agreed to 99.00 a month. After their trial, they double billed, after alot of back and forth, they told me they would skip a month. All was well until my card had to be reissued, and when contacted by them immediately paid my 99.00. But according to them I was a day late, so they drafted 1597.00 extra to satisfy the 2 year agreement, until my bank shut them off. When contacted, their rep Michelle Bink, had no remorse, and said their system was set up to do this if you are 1 day late (I was not, but according to them I was). Never, ever do you need to deal with this kind of predator. It typifies everything a business should not be in dealing with a customer, and seek your IT training elsewhere.

Will pray your Bank does "the right thing" . I also disseminate as much about preplogic to many social websites and together I am sure we can get our "pound of flesh" from Preplogic. I have heard back from Florida's Attorney General and have mailed them all documentation from Preplogic, hopefully they are in process for charges.

Dear Adi,
Thank God my bank(Bank of America) did get 1597.00 back/reversed. Since then Preplogic, has contacted me trying to "work" something out. I agreed to 99.00 monthly, but no reply from them. I would recommend some company with integrity like lynda.com. They should be all like that, pay as you go monthly. The problem with any "pay upfront" like Preplogic has turned out to be is once you pay, you have no recourse. If they really were legitimate, pay as you go should be good for both student and teacher. I know after all the comppplaints filed and pending actions, Preplogic and thier fly by night practices will result in thier demise.

I can understand it is a down economy, I also understand you are not a financial institution. But I don't see how you could possibly get burned when everything at least I have seen is offered online, with access only granted to those who pay. I could see you getting burned if you sent materials to people and waited in good faith payments. But if someone does not pay, you simply turn off access until corrected, A good business model. In light of today's ID theft, and electronic lifestyle, cards are frequently in need of replacement, if you contact the party and they do not pay in a timely manner, I can see you doing a full charge. But when you contacted me, I corrected it within hours. After talking with Michelle Bink, I have no further desire to have anything to do with Preplogic. I can always be reached at the numbers you have to contact me. I think the scales of justice can be much more equalized by my warning as many people as I can about the predatory practices of PREPLOGIC. Being a business owner, I have many times been burned, but I only go after those who try to defraud my company. When people work with me, I have, and will always work with them. That is why after living and operating my business in a town of 50.000.00 people, you can not find anyone who will speak bad of my business practices. "make a customer happy the will tell a few other, screw a customer over and they will tell everyone they know" is the adage I have lived by.

Best Regards,
Arlie Lawrence

I, too, was lured into PrepLogic's unethical business practices. They baited me with the $1/month trial of their online courses (CCNA) which were 4 years old i.e. outdated. However, I had some extra time to invest in studying, so I called to ask that if I continued with their online program, if I could cancel at anytime and was told that I could. Then they switched that agreement once they got the credit card number and told me I was obligated for over $2000 in future payments...WHAT? They said they emailed me some contract which I never received... but then again they are SPAM kings with all the crap email they send to bait their victims, so it's no wonder I did not sort through all their spam emails. I never signed any agreement. So I cancelled that credit card and they incessantly pester me with phone calls with threats. THEY NEED PUT OUT OF BUSINESS with these UNETHICAL/ILLEGAL SCAMMING business practices. There are about 200 complaints about them with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), where they proudly own a dismal D- rating. Also many complaints at [redacted]s... if you are smart (unlike me), you would have googled "PREPLOGIC SCAM" before initiating any trial & read about all the previous victims they have preyed upon. We need to put Jay Gandee in jail! Here are their phone numbers since you will want to block them. [protected], [protected].

Dear Arlie,

Thank you for your reply. I am glad that your bank has your money back, I hope that my bank back to me, but I'm not sure about that because I do not live in America but in Bosnia and Herzegovina. I just know that I would never even go to preplogic website or business with them in any case ... I will tell this my story all over the internet.
I signed up on the BBB web page my problem, and I will write my experiences and help others to not have the same problem as me.
They will have to return my money sooner or later!

Arlie,

I agree with you, and they did the same to me. I now have no money to pay bills and credit ... My annual salary is $ 4, 000 and I have to pay for faculty, billing and credit. Now I can not even that, after they took me approximately $ 700 from the card.
I come from Bosnia and I do not know what to do now! Do they return the money to you?

PrepLogic Warning $600 Cancellation Fee

3 GOTCHAS THAT YOU NEED TO KNOW UP FRONT, WITH THE $99 ALL ACCESS YOU ARE SIGNING UP FOR A 2 YEAR ACCESS THIS WILL COST YOU $1999, $199 PER MONTH UNTIL THE ENTIRE $1999 IS PAID IN FULL, YOU MUST LOG IN TO THEIR WEBSITE TO CANCEL NO EXCEPTIONS (NO EMAILS OR VERBALS), YOU MUST CANCEL IN 30 DAYS OR YOU WILL BE CHARGED A $600 CANCELLATION FEE. I specified verbally and via email that I did not want a continuing program but after 30 dayS, my account was charged $199. I think that preplogic has a good product but they just need to be more forthcoming about the $1999/2year access; and they need to spell out in big bold letters that there is a $600 CANCELLATION AFTER THE 30 DAY PERIOD. And of course I still think that the NO CANCELLATION is an unfair GOTCHA. People need to understand that this company has orchestrated a program similar to CELL PHONES and GYM MEMBERSHIPS ONLY THEIR CANCELLATION FEE IS A WHOPPING $600. I've never seen this type of termination fee scam in the IT community. Is it even legal? If you read the fine print, there's a tiny bleep at the very bottom, "...What's your Safety Net...For just a short time you can get started on your Unlimited Access for just $99. Learn how. After that, you'll be set up on our easy Unlimited Access payment plan (9 payments of just $199)..."; however, when you call for one product, the salesperson makes it sound as if he'll throw in a few other products for only $99 and that's what gets you in trouble, you're not just getting a few products thrown in, you're signing up for a 2 year access that cannot be cancelled after 30 days. At that point, they have you over a barrel because you either lose $600 and get nothing or you pay up.

I just got off a an online chat with one of their reps, and they clearly said to me that if I didn't want the unlimited access that I could cancel with 30 days and "OWE NOTHING!" Their hook for $2K is hidden, and no where do they say that you can cancel after the 30 days. They told me that I could keep using the sight if I paid $149, never telling me the $149 was a monthly payment that I would be making for two years. I didn't join, because I am always cautious, and wanted to see if there was any complaints about this company. I went with TRANSCENDER and got study material and test voucher for less than $200, less taxes and processing fees which totaled $312. To all this company is a crook, they lied in my online conversation, and they do not disclose the total cost you are getting your self into. I can't see why they can't stop the billing when requested, after all the customer is no longer using their site, and materials. Oh by the way, they even told me that I could get a test voucher every month to keep taking the test untill I passed. LIES, LIES, LIES!

We are always looking for ways to make better products and to better the PrepLogic experience. bjack, I am not familiar with the $600 cancellation fee, though it does sound excessive. Please understand, I am not trying to say this is not something you were told, I just have not heard of such a fee. I can't stand complaints like yours. You're complaining that you can't cancel after 30 days? Seriously... You have 30 days to cancel and you want more. What are you doing during these 30 days? Sailing around the world? On a two month safari in Africa? Come on, you have an entire month to look at what you bought and decide whether or not you want to keep it and keep paying. Do you think it would be more fair that you could cancel a year later. Would that be better for you? Give me a break.

Grow up. Stop complaining.

PrepLogic theft by misrepresentation

I received a call from Preplogic about trying their one of their certification products as a trial. The program arrived as a CD which must be activated online. (If you cancel they deactivate the product which makes it unusable.)
I was told they had certification products to try and if you like them you can keep whichever ones you like. I said I will try the trial for 30 days. Unknown to me they charged me $99.00. After 20 days I canceled. They said too bad we are keeping your money. And you must pay $3100.00 for our entire certification program.
I was charged $99.00 with nothing to show for it then a look at the trial product! They laughed at me complaining to them online and made a joke of me complaining and asking for a refund.
These people are crooks. My recommendation is that you should avoid this company. They haven't honored anything with me and I am still fighting for a refund

Regardless of the tricks they pull to get you into the subscription, their trickery and false promises do not end there. The subscription service they are selling (allegedly) comes with "unlimited FREE" exam vouchers.
#1 - These vouchers are not free. You pay for them upfront and are only reimbursed if you pass the exam.
#2 - You are only able to request 1 voucer per month. (I don't know about the rest of you, but that sounds like a pretty severe limitation to me!)
The all voucher requests are submitted by mail or fax (prone to loss and no confirmations). They also state that you should allow 4-6 weeks for each request to be processed. So for a 2-year program you can only ever hope for a maximum of 24 vouchers. Considering the first one takes at least a month to receive, that means you're already down to 23 or less vouchers. I don't know what world they live in, but unlimited does not equal 23. Ever.
To be fair all of this is documented in the additional documentation you receive AFTER you have committed to the "Free" 30-day trial. Allegedly you can cancel within the first 30 days although I have not heard of anybody who has been successful doing so.
So once again, they promise you everything you want to hear so that you'll agree to the "Free" 30-day trial. Once they have your credit card informaiton you are almost never going to get away without giving them $3, 000+.

I can't believe those dirty [censor] are trolling the customer complaints forums. No respectable businessmen would do such a thing -- you know WHY? Because they wouldn't NEED to, due to satisfied customers.

Let me emphasize:

I was not dumb enough to sign up for these freaks, but have dealt with their relentless spamming because they know their way around. simple spam filtration.

I wrote to their "abuse" email address (shocked that it actually existed) to be greeted with a 100+ mail bomb in a one hour span. Yeah, these are "good guys" .

The evidence is HERE - they just trolled honest to goodness customer complaints to berate their oh-so-satisfied customers.
That's a sure sign of a thriving successful business alright. You want to try to shake me up too? I'd WELCOME it - and I wasn't even close to BEING a customer (I have a degree in computer science and have zero need to their infomercial caliber trash). I can be relentless too, "fellas".

They must be dealing with some hardcore sleaze with the kind of lawyers that must be letting them get away with this stuff.

I didn't need to learn the hard way, but for the rest of you - stay far the hell away unless you feel like doing some good new fashioned crime-fighting.

I would love to deal with these people face to face.
Photos and transcripts coming soon.

For the rest of us..we can do our duty and use SEO what it was meant for - to keep the trash from floating to the top.

I didn't realize I was still paying them! I cancelled their services within 30 days, but since I didn't use registered mail "they didn't receive it". I called them to let them know about this mistake, and expected to be able to cancel the service. The 2 people I spoke to on the phone told me there was nothing they could do, regardless of the fact that I had not used their service since the first 30 days when I cancelled. The "customer service" rep even compared me to someone that does not want to pay their credit card bill! When I reminded her that their was more than 2 and 3/4 years remaining out of the 3 year program that I haven't used and didn't want to use, she said that I "missed" the cancellation period and now owe them the full amount. $3000 and change! STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

Prep Logic is being investigated by the Florida Attorney General for misleading and deceptive business practices. They currently have well over 100 complaints aginast Prep Logic. STAY AWAY from doing business with this company. They continue to offer trial subscriptions they claim you can cancel, but they do not recognize your cancellation. They will bill you anyways and even try to sue to. The sales people are liars, and the company is more concerned with screwing people than conducting a fair business.

I am also a victim of preplogic treachery.two months ago I simply purchased a 2$ pocket guide all
I wanted. After one day they started calling me non-stop telling me all that they are offering me, a better deal of 49$ instead of paying 2700$ for the whole product.I just took the offer to see and they agreed the first month will be trial only .because I was not ready for for all that and I refused to take the whole product of 2700$ .after expiry of one month that is when I started to know who these American poachers or pirates are, they started demanding that i pay them 2700$ .they are calling almost me every other day and threatening to take me to court.when i see what other peoples have gone through i can say I was lucky not to have paid all that money .I even told them to stop my trail for two weeks because of travel but i heard from no one again until one one month was over and they discontinued now they are demanding money that I even never used .yet I am the one who should seek for a refund

I agree totally with all the above complaints and ask US government to investigate this dangerous company. They speak very nice to you before you purchase their products but after you purchase you slave your self to them and must pay them or they will do anything necessary to get the money.they only want your money they don't care weather you benefit or not.

I too have been taken by Prep Logic for over $2900. They laugh in your face when you call or email them.
Customer money is there highest priority and screwing people is their ultimate goal.
Don't do business with them, you will probably regret it.

PrepLogic Fraud

Just purchased a exam pack from preplogic. Everything ok until I answered the the phone from preplogic
Purchased a pack on the phone for $99 plus he deducted the $49 exam pack good deal I thought.
Next a bill for $900 and a quick phone call back.
No I bought a 2 year pack ?
I cancelled. No I can not I am told?
I cancel again in email.
Next $77 taken from my account.
Email to complaints
Amazingly I am told $77 for the pack I bought and If I don't cancel I will be billed $900 for the other pack.
Any way I have replied "that I have cancelled and keep on canceling".
Have reported this to the authorities.
Don't buy from preplogic.
Will attach proof for you disbelievers

Hi Everyone,
I still have the emails from PrepLogic. Brian Fee of PrepLogic approached me to help to edit a PrepLogic megaguide for the ITIL certification exam in late 2010. He sent me the manuscript, and I spent several days editing, improving, and adding to the work. Then, 'poof' he disappeared. No payment, no apology, no nothing. A complete and total RIP OFF.

thanks for letting me post, other sites are closed, as apparently is PrepLogic is now. Back in the 1996 to 2001 timeframe, PrepLogic was a legitimate, trustworthy business. After 2009 or so, they turned into a total scam. I am sad to see it.

About two months ago I was looking for practice exams for CCENT (Cisco ICND1), I visited PrepLogic's website, where I started to chat with one of their sales representative. I explained her precisely what I was looking for and she advised me to get their CCNA package as it's broken into two parts - ICND1 and ICND2, so I can use the first part for my current study. She convinced me to purchase it as it was - according to her - the best choice for me. She also advised me to go for their current promotion which gives two year access to their libraries for a monthly charge of $99.00 and ensured me that if I don't need it I can just simply cancel that at any time. I gave her my credit card details and purchased the product. It turned out that the materials I downloaded didn't match the description, and I wasn't able to use it for my studies. A month later I found out that they charged me another $191.00. I tried to get answers from PrepLogic and I found out that I am in the program that can't be cancelled now and the total cost is $2400.00. I was shocked, as first of all I have been charged already $290.00 for something that appeared to be completely different than I was promised to find, and second of all I have to pay for something that was not introduced to me and simply I will not use.
I have been trying to speak to PrepLogic for the last ten days, to cancel my account and get refund for something that does not match the description, but all I hear is that they 'have 12 years of experience in helping IT professionals' and their advise on how should I manage my money to pay them whole amount.
I have got a copy of the chat I had with their sales representative and it states something completely different than I find now. So does it mean that their representative can say/ promise anything to sell the product? And as far I know you cannot oblige someone with the contract by default, isn't this against the law?
If I only googled them before the purchase, I could find out about their 'sales methods' and way they treat their customers, as there are many other people having similar problems with them. I was simply misled by them and now PrepLogic doesn't want to help me at all in this situation. Oh, no sorry - they offered me $200.00 discount.
I would never recommend them to anyone.

For all of you who have had issues with PrepLogic. Just ignore their "used-car salesman" tactics. I signed up for a temporary trial of their CISSP training for the $50 promotion and then they changed it without asking me to the 2 year deal for over $2k. Obviously I'm not going to pay them. Their training is crap compared to even just exam cert books you can download on amazon and read on iPad or computer via Amazon Kindle reader. They will use every strong arm trick to get you to agree to some insane price for their crap training (it's very much like buying a car from a sleazy used car salesman), then when you tell them you're not interested they call and email you incessantly and then finally resort to legal threats. This leads me to my advice to everyone who has dealt with or is thinking of dealing with them. EITHER STAY AWAY or JUST IGNORE THEM WHEN THEY TRY TO STRONG ARM YOU INTO PAYING FOR THEIR CRAP. THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING TO HARM YOUR CREDIT OR OTHERWISE, IT'S ALL JUST STRONG-ARM TACTICS. Mark their email as spam in your inbox so you don't see it anymore, and use google vmail to mark their calls as spam (if possible with your carrier) and go on with your life ignoring them. Problem solved.

Well some good news, I was contacted by Mark N. Customer Support Manager who seemed genuinely interested in resolving my issue, his first opening line was ‘how can I help ‘ well that both impressed and surprised me.

Then first telephone meeting was quite long as he just wanted me to verbally spill my guts to the situation as I see it, I must say he was very professional he let me rant on then broke it down in action points which then could be followed up.

On the second call the next day he gave me a choice full refund or see if Prep logic can offer a package that would be more suitable to our unique internet circumstances, he would have to talk to an engineer first for the latter option.

Mark got back to me shortly after, as said that a full refund would be a better option as the service does require an internet connection to login and that it could not be guaranteed to work in our situation.
So after that a few days later a full refund was given, I must say I was handled very well and professionally, what I can take from this is when you have an issue don’t waste your time with sales people talk to Customer Support it’s their job.

I have no hesitation in using Prep logic services after these assuming things improve at our end internet wise, keep fingers crossed.

Hi Mark N,

Thanks for post,
if you say that after I tried to cancel my account as I was misled, I end up paying over $1, 200 for something I will probably hardly ever use - don't know what kind of brain you should have and how many hours the day should last to pass 36 certificates in 1 year - you call 'a favorable resolution'.. let's leave it for people opinion.

Thanks,

Thomas

PrepLogic Misleading advertising

Refusal to honor a cancellation within 24 hours of placing an order and before the product was shipped after reading the contract was different that what I was told.
I was at the Prepogic web site, I hit the "Talk to advisor(or something like that) and was chatting with a person from Preplogic. He asked if he could call me to get this going faster since I had lots of questions. He called and he told me about the $99 program to try out their different courses for $99. The next day I signed up via their web site and the contract came back saying 6 payments of $189. So at that point I contacted Preplogic via their web question area, they said I could not cancel and get my $99 even though I was contacting them within 24 hours of the order(really it was less than 2 hours) and when I finally talked to a sales person Donnie I told him to cancel my order and he said okay but since I paid for it I might as well look at the info they have since I was already charged the $99 and that cannot be refunded. I checked out the info and then went on vacation and when I returned Preplogic had charged me $189. I called and they said I never cancelled. Lots of posted messages were posted on their question web site but they continued to REFUSE to refund my $189 but said they could reduce and change things. I said I wanted my $189 back because I cancelled with Donnie within the 1st 7 days and they said they had to record of the cancellation. I filled out a complaint with the BBB and sent a note to the President of Preplogic and am waiting to hear back from each. I have also called my Credit Card company and disputed this $189 charge. I told that to Preplogic and it seemed to upset them a bit and they advised me that they go for FULL charge $1600 if an order is disputed. So I am waiting to see what the President says. I am hoping he comes back and refunds the $189 as they should. I cancelled it within 24 hours and Preplogic just would not accept my cancel request. I have bought training from them in the past and was quite happy with the Quality of their product. It is a shame they have tainted my relationship with them

Preplogic is bascially organized crime, we can all do our part to stop it and it better be stopped soon.

For those who were illegally ripped off by Preplogic, you can go to www.ic3.gov to report the financial abuses. The same thing as the previous complaint report, the more victims report their crimes, the more likely and sooner preplogic will be halted by law for their current illegal activities. The less money you will lose from your bank account. It is a race against time, the sooner all the complaints are filed, the less money that will be missing from your bank.

Spread this message out on blogs, put it on youtube, include it as part of your guides on ebay... spread it out virally.

I would like to see some verification of the office and phone numbers listed. I did a reverse lookup on both, and the first number lists several lawyers offices, and the second is the number for Tallahasee Attorney General's office. Is there a case number or reference number? Can you provide further information? It will be very difficult for a lot of people to prove their cases, unless there is actual evidence. I have my Better Business Bureau complaints and valid documentation from my experience with PrepLogic. I settled with them, and obtained a refund. But I still want to see them change their business practices. If the investigation goes forward, I would like to provide any help that I can.
Ultimately, if you can provide further information that corroborates this investigation, I will be calling!
Thanks,
Matt

I am going to repeat what I said earlier: Document everything!
All I can say is that the experience was very painful and worrisome, and the BBB was the best option available.
I am not sure how this pans out with the BBB, does it show as a positive outcome, complaint resolved, or just a complaint? If you are feeling aggressive, you can file a complaint with numerous consumer protection agencies, but the BBB was my first and best choice.
So the damage control works, in that you can achieve a refund if you are diligent and proactive.
For myself, I provided phone logs, and PDFs of all correspondence with Preplogic, as well as screenshots of chats. Do not use offensive words or imply more than you mean. Do provide all of the information in an even and forthright manner.
By working through the BBB, (and responding to legitimate e-mails from PrepLogic) I was able to reach a resolution to my satisfaction.
By the way, it is illegal for any company to charge your debit/credit account without your consent. If you did not agree to the charge, then your bank has legal grounds to reverse the charge. If you signed or agreed to a charge agreement, this will be difficult to dispute. But it is not the end of the road, dispute with your bank, and argue your case. I just wish that Florida had better consumer protection laws, that would force PrepLogic to give up. Unfortunately, it is likely that they will move shop and rebrand under a different name.
Good luck to you all!

Rotten company. Somehow got my email and phone number. Now I get harassing calls from "Donnie" everyday. Tried opting out of their emails and they would not honor this. Just from this harassing practice I can tell they are rotten and dishonest. More importantly, speaking with other members of the IT industry I've found that their products are practically useless; you're better off getting certifications from a real accredited source and not these slimy scammers.

Same thing just happened to me. I was chatting online with Jordan about the training and he told me about the $99 30 day trial. After that I could pay $100 or $200 a month for the 3yr unlimited access package, which is a resonable rate. I did start the training, and the material and tests were what they were promised to be. I had to take a break from the training for several weeks due to family stuff. Last Saturday morning I look at my checking account and they had taken $2, 800 out of my business checking account by charging the debit card I gave them for the $99 30 day trial. That pretty much wiped me out for payroll and everthing else for the coming week. Pretty devastating. I can't dispute the charge with my bank like you can with a credit card company. Preplogic won't allow me to go on the payment plan at this point, they said they have a "company policy" about not giving refunds. Hopefully my post here and on EVERY other site that their clients have posted comments on will return the $2, 800 favor on their sales.

I will be filing compaint with Tampa BBB today.

Hi all,
I filed complaints through the Better Business Bureau of Tampa Florida, and provided comprehensive evidence of the difficulty. After 1.5 months of correspondence, I finally was credited the $900 refund that I asked for. Mark Norris was kind enough to push this through. (If only I could be sure they made a procedural change, that would be awesome.)

I totally agree with the complaints above. This is at best a dishonest and greedy company. They are out to swindel and steal your hard to earn monies. They DO NOT care about their customers and are only there to steal your money. The cancellation process is tricky and inconvenient. They don't respond to their so-call ticket system. They will draft the entire amount for the unlimit access from your bank account if you give them your debit/credit card without any warning. They do not have a cancellation policy they honor before or after the 30 day trial. By the way the 30 day trial is a way of luring in to a trap. Please stay away from this company. Do not purchase anything from them. If you do, use cash and cash only. It took 3 days to reach someone in customer service to try to get my funds back without success. I out taken for $2, 300.00 for a product I do not think that highly of. To pass the exams you will have to have any the source of information besides their products. This company has taught me a valuable lesson on how for this country's business practices has plummeted

To the preplogic reporesentative, I contacted or was contacted by your customer service personnel regarding a similar credit card scam as others here have experienced. Your staff was rude and threated to harass me daily until I paid the entire amount of 1200. I considered the product and service inferior, and cancelled within the 30 days using the ticket system but that cancallation was not honored. Customer service has not tried in good faith to resolove the issue. And that is after customer service also put in a cancellation ticket.

ProLogic Unlimited training programs are most certainly a scam. I recommend anyone looking for training applications to stay away from ProLogic products. And make sure you contact the Better Business Bureau to explain your current situation with the ProLogic Company. I think it's important to IT professionals know what applications and programs you can trust for training. And with so many other options out there and they're clear record of fraud that it's important that we sound the bells and the other IT professionals know about possible problems with this company. But with so many options out there why take the risk.

PrepLogic Terrible experience

I purchased a practice exam from Preplogic as part of a promotion where I would receive a $155 rebate towards an exam voucher. Part of the promotion said that I could not send in the rebate until 30 days after the purchase, which I followed. I sent in my rebate after 30 days, and waited an additional two months without receiving my rebate. I called them up, and they claimed that that had never received my rebate, but were still willing to honor my rebate. They then sent me my gift card, which I received about 3-4 weeks later.

Two months later I decided to redeem that gift card online to purchase my exam voucher, and their website says that the giftcard is expired, and that I had to redeem it within 90 days. I am holding all of the paperwork in my hands, and there is absolutely nothing in that paperwork that says it has any kind of expiration date. I looked online and found that there are dozens of other people that had both of the same issues that I have. Preplogic claims that their rebates were never received, and then would not honor their giftcards after receiving them. I also called Preplogic back several days in a row before I could actually get a live person on the phone. That person told me that it was clearly stated in the paperwork (which it isn't in there at all) about the expiration date. I was also told that I was 'out of luck', and that I was not going to receive my $155 towards the exam voucher. I asked to talk to a supervisor about this and my request was denied. I feel very ripped off.

I would have never made this purchase in the first place if I knew that I would not get my $155 rebate. I also made sure to carefully read all paperwork and follow all instructions carefully to avoid any kind of situation like this.

PrepLogic Refused to honor a cancellation within 24 hrs of placing an order. I have spoken to them, chatted to them online and they refused to cancel, always trying to make me pay less. I kept on telling them that I cannot afford the training amount as it was more than the agreed price online as they suddenly wanted to deduct 6 months payment at once. They called and he told me about the $99 program and that it was my only option. They refused to cancel my order and kept deducting the $99. I have sent them numerous emails and logged calls on their website but to no avail. My credit card keeps on being maxed out because I cannot afford to pay the cedit card installments anymore due the PrepLogic money being deducting from it. I am very upset about the way they do business and the false advertising about the contract details.

I would like a full refund of the money they took from me over the last 2 years and removal of my bank account details from their system as I have never even touched their product or logged in online to use their service.

PrepLogic took my credit card for full payment, not the suggested pay per month payments of $199.00 like advertised. I hope PrepLogic will read this and respond. For your information, you took from the wrong person this time. I actually work for CNN and you will be investigated to the fullest and hopefully with all done and said afterwards, you will be shut down. Finally, Prep Logic has over-stepped their boundaries:)

Yes, I too have been ripped off and fleeced by the dishonesty of PrepLogic on their unlimited Access Training Program. They are fraud with no sense of ethics. If you are paying monthly and upto date or paid up in advance they will create a situation and then blame you, stop your training and attempt to get more money from you. They should be put out of business. They started off good but then ran into finance problems and turned to dishonesty. They seem to have a high turnover of staff too.

I believe they are now operating under the name of LearnSmart or similar.

I had the same experience with preplogic thanks to Sean Wallace and Mary H. All they could get from me was $50.00 USD. Preplogic was bombarding me with nasty emails and phone calls from Mary H daily. They made unsucessfull attemps to charge to my account after I disputed their charges and I was able to get my credit back and subsequently I cancelled my credit card. Now, the hunter is being hunted. I am doing the same thing they did to me. I am the one calling them and emailing them. I found bad reports on the internet about those people calling me and coping and pasting on an email and emaling them back to them and they do not like it at all. Now they are calling me because acording to them my emails are not relevant to their actions. It is ok for them to harass people but it is not ok to do it to them. And they want to see what they can do to resolve this issue at least that is what they say in the email.

I too called the Tampa Bay Attorney General. Keep everything they say and email you and provide it to the Attorney General. This company is a full scam and will harass you everyday. Anything you receive in an email with a radio button and a huge check mark next to the free trial is how they try to work around and get you in a contract. However, cancel your payment because they cannot continue to bill you since their is no legal contract since you did not sign anything. They also have a habit of not providing receipts or account history. They will be getting sued so get your stuff in so you can collect when they have to a huge payout to its customers.

And Tiffany C, Alicia S or any ### in the billing department. Don't try to explain yourself on this forum and tell us to contact you to fix any errors. You all just make up excuses when we call!

I had been ripped off by Preplogic and got American Express to intervene and they found in my favor in the dispute. Preplogic then proceeded to dun me for the whole amount that Amex refunded me; they sent regular harassing letters and wouldn't give up their pressure tactics to squeeze money from me. Well, I told them to go shove it and the next month I found a new charge on my Amex from Preplogic! I called Amex and asked them what gives since I had put a block on my account so they couldn't charge me any further. Amex told me that had changed their merchant number and charged me again to get around the block! Unbelievable nerve. Amex found in my favor again and a new block was put up against them. These crooks will stop at nothing. Stay as far away from Preplogic as you possibly can.
