unauthorised payment taken
I cancelled my POF upgrade when I met someone and hid my profile from view since it was early days. I had confirmation they had cancelled it and a week ago got a reminder it was expiring and to take action if I wanted to renew. Since I didn't want to renew, I did nothing. Yet I've discovered they have taken almost £40 from me a few days ago. This was not in my budget and in a few days time, I fly to Canada for 6 months. I've tried their website and got no where except have a standard copy and paste reply telling me how I can cancel subscriptions - something I already knew since I did it. To add insult to injury, I had another email today to let me know my upgrade had expired. Great but they have still taken the money. I have very little time before I fly and should be spending this with my nearest and dearest. I also had budgeted for food in the airport which I will now have to change the budget on since they have the money allocated. It will taint my experience very much.
In my personal opinion due to the high level of scams, low quality of people, the dangers, massive spam issues, the heartbreack of thouands of people arounf the world, this dating dating " Plenty of fish" should be banned.
Also, the billing department is a fraud in itself. I paid for a 1 month premium subscription last year. Due to this app just being a total junk yard, aI decided I would not pay for another month. Now, over 5 months later they took a total random 1 month payment out.
There has been no payment requests by me, there has been no other transactions from plenty of fish in the last 5 months on my back account, but now, at total random they decided to dip into my bank account. Worst thing of all, when I made my 1 month payment over 5 months ago I specicially selected the option not to keep my account details. But somehow they still managed to take this new totally random payment out after 5 months of not using it and 5 months of not making any other payments.
This dating site operator is criminal. Just dipping into accounts at random months later. There was not even email of any warnings the money was going to be taken and no transaction receipts. I guess they just hope you dont notice the money the steal.
Note "NEVER" give this company your banking details. They are criminals in disguise for other scam matters on the platform also.
With all the artificial intelligence (AI) and algorithms that is out there these days, you can't tell me the platform can't recognise a scammer or when someone is about to get scammed.
The only reason people get screwed over hundreds of thousands of dollars on that peice of crap is simple " Think about it"
arbitrary decision making with no right to reply
I have a POF profile. I uploaded my pictures. In all my pictures I was dressed and all my pictures showed my face. I was warned that my pictures were inappropriate. I ignored this warning as in my opinion they were not inappropriate as POF states they don't tolerate nudity in their pictures. As I have stated my pictures did not contain any nudity. I was proud of those pictures and they were artistic.
Just after I had signed up to a subscription for 12 months I was contacted again advising that my photos were inappropriate and my rights to upload photos was revoked. There is no channel in POF to speak to someone about their decision making process and if you use their "contact us" form you never get any response.
I want my subscription refunding and then I am happy to remove my profile from POF and go to a website that doesn't treat its users like small children.
I attach a sample photo.
fake account set up
I had a fake account set up under luludoukakis I'm trying to have deleted
They also mention on my profile my Facebook Page Name on the profile they set up
I know who did this (JAD) but can't prove it unless Plenty of Fish gives me the email address that was used to set up the account
I need this deleted immediately or a need a phone number that I can speak with someone
Can someone please guide me on how to do this?
Thanks
discrimination against transgender
I've made many accounts.. I followed the rules perfectly, but plenty of fish is known for being bigoted towards transgenders.
Each time I tell people i am transgender is my profile. I'm respectful, never message anyone first and always make sure they're aware I'm trans so no ine wastes any time.
But each time I contact them they ignore me.. And just constantly remove me and many trans women and men... This is unacceptable. You can not remove a certain group from a FREE WEBSITE .. Its 2018 almost 2019 get on the right side of history
scammers
There should be a better way to report scams on your site. I am bombarded by men who claim to be in the military and immediately ask to go off site. I have learned not to do that because as soon as I do, they start asking for money and then get nasty when I say no. The options listed for reporting a photo are not sufficient. You must find a better way to allow users to make reports.
Be careful there is a guy called Andy jean Jackson on pof saying he’s in the military and is based out in Iraq, he then befriends you and then waits a couple of days and then he says his base has been attacked and he has lost everything including his wallet and he then asks you to send money to him so he can get a card to stay connected out there well it isn’t true if he gets in touch with you just ignore him he’s a scammer
WARNING: There is a gentleman posing as Gerry M. Goodman on your site - who has stolen and altered my Texas
Driver's License and pasted his own Photo on said License. I have turned his photos over to the POLICE FRAUD
Departments in Tarrant County and in Dallas County. Please TAKE HIS POSTING Down Immediately as I am also
naming your site on the respective Police Reports as contributing to this FRAUD. If you want to call me to verify
this information, please call me immediately or see my FaceBook page that I've had since 2009! He is also coming
on to women - claiming that he owns my 30-year old business, European Motor Cars, Ltd in Fort Worth!
Respectfully, the real Gerry M. Goodman.
login problems, apparently customer service doesn't care
I have had an account on this site for about a month now. Suddenly yesterday evening (7/23/18) I had trouble logging in. The site kept telling me my username or password were incorrect. They weren't. I entered my email address into the forgotten password link and was told I'd receive an email telling me how to reset my password. I never got it. It was not in my Spam/Junk folder. This morning I tried again, still didn't receive the email. I searched on their forums and found an email to direct technical problems to. I emailed them and again never received a reply. Some genius on the forums was telling people to turn off their VPN/proxy. I did so, still had the same problem. I can't even log in to their forum. This service is awful. They don't give you any clear way to contact them about issues and give the impression that they don't care. I'm glad I don't have a paid account - I'd be worried about my account renewing. Still, I've started communicating with a couple of guys on there and they're probably wondering what happened to me. I wish there was a way to get in direct contact with them. Otherwise I'd like to find some way to report them for bad business practices. This is really frustrating.
I've had exactly the same issue and have tried setting up 4 different accounts with different emails etc and it does the same thing. I tried calling one of their 'customer service' numbers and got a woman with an accent so thick I honestly could not make out a word she said. SO frustrating. Anyway she was trying to walk me thru getting into my computer to 'help me' out this mess and I just got a real bad feeling about her. Did not go thru with it. Met some nice people on here and I'd like to keep in contact, but may not be possible. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you for your post. I let a coworker convince me to sign up yesterday and even though I was skeptical I did... to my surprise I found 2 guys interesting and I didn't give out my personal info because I was thinking I would use the site until I became more comfortable with meeting... my big big mistake. The numbers POF posts are fake so no way to contact them. Since yesterday I've created 3 different profiles trying to at least contact the guys who probably think I fell off the face of the earth. Same thing happened to me and since I didn't break any rules I am clueless as to why. I read somewhere if enough people block you or think you are fake that POF will delete you and never contact you again. A simple video chat could dispel any rumors as to if I am who I am... in fact I am cuter in person... I thought the site was for if you were unlucky in love and seeking someone...*shrugs** I am over it. Good luck to you.
account
I have for the last few months complained to POF about a guy who keeps stalking my profile...I stopped talking to him and he was abusive..so I blocked him. He then changed his name and he keeps stalking me and I don't see why no one is listening to me with regards to this. Should I close my account down and contact the police or are you people going to give me my rights by acknowledging what I'm asking you to do.
Name :ash1971fella
pedophile
I saw a man that that beat my friend on your website, and she was not his only victim. His profile name is QuitPlayin2k. His profile picture is a selfie of him at work I believe. He has dark hair a full beard, mustache and wears glasses. If needed i have pictures to show what he has done. Please stop making it easier for him to find victims. His name is Eric, and he is a horrible human being.
the entire service is a scam! I have proof
POF is a scam/dishonest/fraud/ILLEGAL and here's how I know. I have made so many accounts, been a NON offender/stalker/harasser/weirdo, yet they always delete my account and their excuse is always the same. "your account was flagged" that's it. If you try to explain to them via [protected]@pof (dot) com (which is their only way to contact them, which is SOMEHOW classified as ""media contact" not, account holder to which you pay for services, not representative, just vague media contact" anyways, they apologize, and say there's nothing they can do. Once they delete it, that's it. Now, I found a pattern when they delete your account, it's after you report so many fake users that THEY THEMSELVES create. Because how hard is it for a site to put in a simple algorithm to catch those fake profiles who send out the same type of message, it's not hard, that's the point. But they delete you for finding it out. The other pattern is when you find a real person, they will delete your account, they don't want you to match with a real person and then leave their site because then they will have nobody left. I think we collectively as people could sue this company for emotional compensation based on how many efforts I know I put in trying to reach out to somebody to find a companion for life, and how many bad reviews that are similar from others. I bet if we all sue these motherfckers they will stop their ILLEGAL scamming practice, because they are literally stealing opportunities from us, preventing opportunities from coming to us, and otherwise wasting our time promising a service and then not delivering, among other things.
plenty of fish customer service
Today I called POF Customer Service and advised the first assistant I needed to cancel my subscription. He asked me if I was on a desktop. I said I have one nearby. He gave me a website to type in. A box came up wanting my name and a key code.
The POF assistant wanted to establish a remote connection to my computer. I told him that was not going to happen.
He then transferred me to his supervisor. The supervisor said I was due a refund of 100 dollars since I was quitting POF within 3 months. He told me to get a 50.00 pre paid CVS pharmacy card and give them the card number. They would charge 50.00 on it and refund 100.00 on my original credit card number. I told him this was nothing but a scam. I told him to keep the 100.00. These techs were Middle Eastern sounding males. Use caution with POF customer support by phone.

cut off from pof
I have been cut off by POF for several months for no reason whatsoever!
Even last year customer service reinstated me twice or it could be thrice, all that because I did complaint and then, their version that I did unsubscribe which is not true at all.
I haven't any matchmaking for a very long time.
Please forward this email to a higher management.
Regards
yourdiscovery

plenty of fish - account security and customer service
**CLIFF NOTES VERSION: Stay away from POF, their security is sub-par and their customer service representatives are sketchy!**
Beginning yesterday, I was suddenly kick out of my POF profile. Despite numerous attempts to recover the password, I was informed that my email did not match a registered account. I called the customer service phone number - which took me almost two days to find due to POF not putting any customer support contact information on any of their sites - and was connected to an Indian call center. The call center representative, Barry Allen (not real name, I'm sure) was rude, condescending and suspicious. Rather than assisting me with resetting my password, he redirected me to two different sites not associated with POF and attempted to get me to enter personal information. When I asked him to explain what he was doing and why he wanted me to enter this information at these sites, he told me "because that's why I'm telling you to do". I requested to speak to a Manager or Supervisor and was told "No, no I will not forward you". I ended up deleting the app and will never be opening another POF profile again. Do yourself a favor and stick to dating sites with a better reputation.
dating website
* * * * * * * * * warning! Warning! Warning! Warning! * * * * * * * * *
Do not use this website or any others operated by match group, inc.! This company has, and continues to be, the subject of countless class action lawsuits in the u.S., canada, and all over europe. They have settled a shocking amount of lawsuits for committing fraud (i.E., fake profiles, fake messages, spam bots, fraudulent billing practices, lying about cancelling memberships, lying to consumers, etc.).
They insulate themselves from external contact so you are unable to complain. If you reach out to them online, you will immediately find that they will send you generic e-mails (i.E., "thank you for contacting us", "your feedback is important", etc.), but they will not assist you in any way with actual problems. They make it impossible to contact them in any other way - if you have any doubts about these statements, just try for yourself and see what happens.
Aside from class action lawsuits, consumers have gotten no responses regarding claims, requests for refunds, reports of fraud, etc. The only reason that any laws exist for this service are due to extensive class action lawsuits which they lost over and over; and the only laws that protect consumers from this company's fraudulent business model are in canada, europe, and states in the u.S. Where suits were already won. They have a legal policy of only protecting consumers in states and countries where they have been forced to by the courts and extensive legal settlements.
I have included links to various consumer websites, forums, and other public sounding boards that deal with fraud, deceptive business practices, and lawsuit information. Pay attention to the negative reviews and see how many positive reviews you can find out of thousands... You may be surprised at the stories, comments, and complaints that you find, and wonder how they still operate in the u.S. They even got caught using the profile of a deceased u.S. Soldier. This company is a disgrace, do not trust them or you will regret it. Don't just believe me, see what all of the other people who have reviewed them have to say and decide for yourself.
Here are just a few, out of many, consumer websites that have a stunning amount of negative reviews, complaints, requests for refunds, calls for further lawsuits, and so on; some are even exclusively negative, with no positive reviews whatsoever! Even their own forums have extensive complaints about these same business practices by the company... Just look below.

charges to my account.
I signed up for pof. I never gave pof my credit card information. I never requested any purchases yet you guys charged me TWICE for tokens I never wanted our asked for. I don't even go on this website anymore because its a joke. I want my money back in my account and you can go ahead and delete my account while your at it. You took my grocery money somehow without my consent, much less a password.
a absolutely ridiculous warning
I received a strange and. Out of order message from a member.. It suggested I was some kind of prostitute.. I was absolutely mortified.. I messeged back.. No swear words, just told him it was unacceptable to send such messages.. This is getting more and more frequent. Your policy states.. No nudity, unbelievable. I've had at least 4/5 guys sending me messages with nudity in them.. I block them straight away.
I am absolutely furious as, I have been an on/off member for more than 4 years.
I am respectful.. I have no false pics, I am not rude to guys, yet I got a WARNING tonight for telling a guy.. I wasn't accepting his sexual type message..!
The amount of sexual messages I've had you couldn't make it up.
Also you must be loosing ALOT of members, and I understand why now, as youve put my search into 75 miles from my home postcode.. Ridiculous.. I don't want to meet a guy in Manchester or Glasgow.. That's why you have the bars of how far to search.. I would appreciate a decent reply ASAP. Shocked.
Sandra cobb
I have had many sexual messages with Pof over the 4/5 years as a member.
I just block them.. End of. But tonight had enough.. Sexual message made me feel sick.. Older guy, out my area AGAIN..
I blocked him but sent a message saying.. No swear words am 51... Told him not to send anymore of these.. Sick messages and I was gonna report hi., because I have had so many in ladt 2/3 months.. I just blocked him.
Then I get a message saying... From pof.. Warning me I'd sent a bad message and if I repeated it.. I'd be struck of this.. Hilarious supposingly.. Dating site.. I was and I am furious, am not like that, as per my profile..I didn't understand his message.. He resent it.. It was vile.so now I have a warning.. Yet just naturally.. Put up my defences as a women.. A decent women.
I would appreciate if you could look into this as there are no complaints options on pof... It's a joke...

POF was bought (2015) by match.com owned by IAC holding company. They were good 20 years ago but for many years they are scanners maximizing their profits with fictitious, false attractive profiles as 99.8% of all dating sites are fake and/or dishonest for profits. For instance, match.com owns over 26 well known but dishonest dating sites.
