I recently bought an account on playerauctions and the original owner managed so steal the account back after we had paid for it. This has happened two times. The first time he took it back just after 2 weeks of owning it. The second time he took it back about 3 months later. Paypal refuses to help as well as playerauctions.com. They claim to offer a guarantee towards this exact problem but they refuse to help. The customer service is horrible, all you get from them is a chat box with people who just tell you to email their "trust final resolution center" who takes 15 days at least to get a response back from if you're lucky enough to even get one at all. Don't use this website it is full of scams and fraud

I purchased an account and had to acknowledge receipt before I could make sure it was as described. I found out it was not as described I contacted the seller and never received an answer. Three months later, the seller/owner took ownership of the account, and when I contacted PlayerAuctions about it they didn't do anything. The seller had other comments posted about the same thing happening to them (posted after I made my purchase). Then PlayerAuction banned my account so I could no longer reach out to the seller to resolve the issue and they have not responded to my emails.

The site claims safe trading but the truth is different. I spent near 90$ buying two accounts from the same seller, Steam account plus a game account that was linked to Steam and you need to play the game but he sold them separately.
The seller is smart and waited more than 6 months to recover the accounts, no Paypal support or anything at this point and I didn't have option to buy insurance. I have messages from him saying I can't do anything to recover the accounts nor my money because Paypal protection expired and playerauctions won't help, he was right. Neither would help, Paypal told me to go to the police, they claimed there was nothing they could do because time has passed and it doesn't matter if I have proof.

Player auctions and their support team couldn't care less, I showed them messages from Steam support where they say the account was recovered by the original owner, messages from the seller incriminating himself but yet they only bothered to contact the seller when they know he has been ignoring my messages, days after they just marked request as solved without solving anything and after inquiring further they sent an automated message saying the seller didn't reply and I didn't have insurance...

Not to mention most of the time support replies without reading what you wrote, it took me a while to get them to read or pretend to have read my request and proof.

Anyway if you are a scammer it seems Player Auctions is your place really no consequences for your actions and about the buyer well too bad they lost what they paid for and their money, no one seems to care but the person affected.

Agreed. I recently got scammed by a seller and had to pay full price for something that I only got a portion of. PA still let the seller get all my money even with proof that I didn't get the other half of my purchase.

SCAM !

Same experience, their dispute process is totally useless and easily gamed by the conman. The thing I hate more than the thief, is that PlayerAuctions helps them get away with it even after they are made aware of the scam. Protecting the fraudster is even worse. I pray karma gets both of you.

It is quite similar to me. However, I found out my account was banned on PlayerAuctions after I asked paypal to refund me the money. Quite hilarious. First 2 pics are evidence that the seller would refund me. But PA's support service was such a [censor] when I used paypal to refund me the money.

Just got an email that I lost the dispute. As always the scammer won. I should've look at the review before I buy runescape account. In the dispute the scammer wrote three sentences that I resold the account without proof and he won. While I provide strong points and screenshots.I am really angry I was their customer back in 2014 while this scammer created his account on 2016. To all the new buyer, DO NOT BUY INSURANCE IT DOESN'T HELP. I bought one for $30 and I still lost the dispute. Like hell does it even do. Right now I can say playerauction is a farm fest for runescape seller if you know what I mean.

Brought a wow account and paid extra for buyer protection 2 days later the account was reclaimed, i got in touch with blizzard who sent me an email saying the account had been reclaimed . I forwarded this to player auctions thinking that was pretty much me covered but no i just kept getting emails asking me to prove the account had been reclaimed .
This was blizzard
Following our live chat I checked and the account that previously had the email xxxxxx was claimed and returned to its original owner and its active, if you paid money for this account and services on it please contact your payment provider and ask for a chargeback of your money.

and this is the reply from playerauctions
Thank you for getting back to us.
Please be informed that for us to start investigating your Insurance claim we need compelling evidences that the game account was indeed reclaimed by the original owner.
so i'm still waiting for a refund and not sure what evidence would be more compelling than an email from blizzard support so don't bother with this site as anything you buy is only safe until your payment clears because after that they don't care.

Playerauction is a Scam. Seller stole back my account, i reported to them they took 4 weeks to completed the investigation, First email they said i will receive a coupon for the amount of i paid. Then i didnt get that, so i contacted them again. They answered that the answer in the last email was wrong, i will not get anything. The only thing they can say is SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENT because i didnt purchase their insurance which didnt offer in the sell. But before i buy i contacted their customer service 3 times and confirmed that even without insurance i still protected for a year. I have all the chat log and the email from those employees, so i used that to ask them why they said im protected but in the email said i'm not. Now they suspended my account so i cant get access to the order anymore.

Whoever get scammed please msg me and i will put your name on the class action suit for consumer fraud against playerauction.

Based on the information provided, we have determined that the seller is responsible for the loss of access to your account. As we are unable to restore your access to the account, a coupon code of $xxx will be issued to your PlayerAuctions account through on-site message. The PlayerAuctions Coupon may be used toward any valid offer posted on PlayerAuctions.com and should be used within two months starting today. Please note that PlayerAuctions Coupon are non-transferable and non-refundable. The minimal price of offer should be above $5 and the change will not be given if the offer price is lower than the coupon value. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this period. For further inquiries, please don’t hesitate to contact us again.

We are really sorry for wrong answer in the previous email.

For this case, we have tried to contact the seller to recover the game account but not receive any response yet. So, we have suspended his PA account and will ban the game account as well to prevent the potential fraud.

However, according to the record, you didn't buy any insurance when you placed this order, we are not able to give you any reimbursement at this stage.

Anyway, we are very sorry for any inconvenience you may experience.

[22:23:53] tommy: let me ask you a question
[22:24:03] tommy: when customer buy an acc from playerauction
[22:24:10] tommy: whether the insurance was purchased or not
[22:24:22] tommy: the buyer still protected right?
[22:24:44] tommy: if seller stole the account back does buyer get any type of protection at all?
[22:25:08] Godfrey: the buyer still protected right? yes
[22:25:17] Godfrey: if seller stole the account back does buyer get any type of protection at all? yes
[22:25:34] Godfrey: we will have a thoroughly investigation
[22:25:52] Godfrey: before that the buyer must fle a dispute case against the seller

contacted support today and they ignored my chat... worst customer service ever

Okay so I sold two items on player auctions, after the buyer allowed the money to disburse I waited. My original paypal didn’t not work due to me closing it so I attached another paypal too it. However the support team is so ###ed they think the one that is currently in use if denied. They have told me for 80+ hours that they will send it in 24 hours and they never do. I was my money.

I bought an account through their website for $450 plus fees they charge to middleman the service, to help protect you from getting scammed. The seller of the account through playerauctions, claimed that his reputation on playerauctions is all the insurance I need as had a 100% positive feedback, and Playerauctions considers him a trusted seller, according to their website. I purchased the account, paid their extra fees, and it seemed fine, until a few weeks later, the account was banned from the game for being a stolen account. I contacted the seller through PlayerAuctions website, about the incident and for the last month he has dragged out the conversation saying he was trying to fix it. Then today he contacts me and says Playerauctions will not reimburse the money, and that all he can do is sell me another account for a $100 cheaper. While all of his adds say that if anything happens to the account, he will provide a 100% refund through Playerauctions. I contacted Playerauctions to lodge a complaint, and they told me to work it out with the seller. I asked what is the point of their site if not to middleman issues like this. They said they couldn't help me, and refused to let me talk to a real person, or supervisor. I have copies of all messages with the seller through their website, and copies of the transcripts of Playerauctions customer support telling me they cannot help me, and it is against company policy to allow customers to call customer service.

i bought a account through player auctions for $200 and just after a year (they only offer insurance up to a year) the seller took the account back. player auctions said they emailed the seller and they didnt reply so there is nothing they can do. i spent over $1500 through player auctions (buying gold) and over 1, 300 hours on the account and all they did was try to email the seller. TOTAL SCAM

went to their site to sign up, couldnt get verified as a seller even though my phone # is a fixed land line as per their requirements. I tried their chat support which was a joke, it fixed nothing and was told that their support would email me later with a fix (still waitin..). I check my game account 1 week later and it was hacked, bare boned cleaned out. I only went to this site, ownedcore and epicnpc and I didnt give any account info to any of them. One of them keylogged me. I'm betting it was playerauctions.

I am currently going through an issue with Player Auctions, I purchased a WoW account last year off the Player Auctions site, everything went smooth, no issues. Now a year later the seller reclaimed the account and changed all the information, I filed a claim with PA, since the supposedly protect buyers from this sort of thing, filled out their survey and provided the requested screen shots, showing that I could not access the account. After about ten days I receive a canned response stating that the evidence I provided was not sufficient enough. Wait, what ? I gave you exactly what you asked for. PA stated that there was no proof that the seller reclaimed the account . Well then who the hell changed all the account information ? The tooth fairy ? Stay away from player auctions, they do not honor what they say.

Just got ripped off on Playerauctions.com for over $400. Bought 7 different items ( currency for World of tanks ). Seller reversed the credit card charges for the currency ( send as a gift to my account ). Shortly after seller received several neg feedback for fraud. Playerauctions took the whole section ( currency ) for World of Tanks back down after about 30 days because you CANT buy currency at any other source other then World of tanks as I found out. nine days later, 5 emails, 4 live help sessions and several tickets, NOT A SINGLE RESPONSE. NOTHING. I have filed now a complaint with the California AG and the FBI and Postal Inspection for Wire Fraud. At the very least Playerauctions is liable for the fraud as they did not do their due diligence in researching or offering protection.

I can only say, STAY AWAY from Playerauctions.com, horrid English and grammar skills, and complete run around and promises of "taking care of this" and "you will hear from us in 2 days...then 1 day...then 3 days...and so on...just a run around. Stay away and if you bought and got scammed lets file a class action suit and contact me.

Ordered from PlayerAuctions and really disappointed. Their mailing system which is apparently a critical part on the website is not functioning. No clear announcement on any social media pages, and yet they are allowing people to continue to buy/sell products/services when nothing can be processed. No real estimate given on when the website will actually be fully functional. Even with the nature of this business, I assumed they would be a little more professional about this ordeal and mediate the whole situation better. Makes me question whether their insurance and other policies hold up to what they advertise. Would approach website with caution. If the middle-man (PlayerAuctions in this case) cannot appropriately resolve problems in a timely manner, one must consider whether it's truly safe. Poor communication and resolution has led me to leave this negative review.

I am going through the same thing @muddflap did in 2010, and it's now 2015. I've been ignored, and in one case the CS Officer actually left the conversation when I asked for my money back. I will not stop, and will take all necessary action if this issue is not resolved, even if it costs me more than I spent on your website. It's the principle and the fact that other people are getting shafted that counts.

I have been going through the exact same ordeal as @muddflap did in 2010. It's now 2015. I have e-mailed the address you provided in this thread, as my e-mails to support and experience with live chat have been met with me being ignored completely. One time, the CS Officer actually left the chat when I said I wanted my money back.

This is outrageous.

Emm, I would suggest staying away from playerauctions for the time being. Their account protection system is broke for the time being. I sold the account, gave away all the info and pushed the button that delivery was made. After 72 hours buyer did not respond which means that the delivery was made. However, after this time the buyer instantly got refunded (I did not even get a chance to provide any info or arguments that the account was delivered) and I was left with a lost account and 0$. I know there was a similar bug but there was announcement that it was already repaired. My suggestion stay away from this place for a few months if you do not want to lose your money AND accounts.

Just reviewing a few of these responses will show you how irrational people are. First of all I would like to say that buying or selling accounts is against Blizzard policy and they can immediately terminate your account for it. With that being said Player Auctions is an amazing company to use should you decide to do so. I just sold an account and received my money right after the 2 week buyer guarantee. Money was deposited directly into my account. I do feel that their fees were a bit steep. But with that being said, I found someone to purchase my account within 2 days of posting and it would have taken me much longer to do on my own. There was a few small hiccups in that the buyer wanted me to respond within 5 seconds of him paying for the account. But I responded to him within 24 hour period. As for them taking back their account. I believe this is something that player auctions cannot get around. I think that as long as you have the address the account was set up with and the credit card then blizzard will get you back into that account. And after they have disbursed the money Im not sure how they could possibly get your money back. Sad that people would do crap like that. But people are becoming more and more despicable every day. Sell the account then try to take it back after they receive payment. I will say that this has nothing to do with player auctions and everything to do with shady sellers. So make sure to get as much personal info as possible from him. I just wanted to leave PA a good review since I was very skeptical before seamless transaction took place.

In my experience, I had to (and still am) contact support about a seller reclaiming his game account. The above posters are right. Some speak english, others are visibly awkward completing full sentences.

The first three times I contacted support, they all said the exact same things. Made promises they didnt keep. Told me several times to expect a "followup' via email within 24 hours, or that they had 'escalated' my case to the mediation team. They said that all 7 times I contacted support, every time without fail.

One of the support members "Larry" even had the audacity to be rude/sarcastic with me over support chat when I politely asked for an update to a case that PA should have solved over a month ago. If anyone wants a transcript, I saved it.

The seller fees are also absurd, no doubt about it. They can sugarcoat how the fees sellers/buyers pay go towards the growth of their company, but... 42$ off of a 350$ sale? Jesus Christ. And people STILL get scammed all the time.

Paid for an in-game item service. Playerauctions was not able to complete the order in the safe manner without getting the account banned/locked. I sent numerous emails to Tina and Support@playerauctions.com explaining my concern over my order. I also forwarded emails from blizzard showing them locking my account 3 times and banning it temporarily until I could prove account ownership by calling in. My account was on the verge of being permanently banned and the power level seller showed no disregard and wanted to continue with the service without considering the danger to my account. So I canceled the order and explained to the seller I would not be continuing with his service because of the activity such as account locks and banning were occurring. I sent multiple emails to support as well as to the seller explaining this and didn't get any response with the exception that he was willing to give me a 20% refund even though he was not able to deliver in safe manner. Tried many times to resolve this with playerauctions and the seller and feel that you did not uphold to our agreement. I've been well over $1000 on their service and expected much better customer service. I will no longer be using the service and will not recommend to anyone. The order was not complete and blizzard restored everything back.

I recently sold over 320M via Playerauctions and even after contacting PayPal as they suggested for an incomplete distribution of the $140 they still repeatedly say "We already released your disbursement sir." As if I am some sort of ### and doesn't understand what a disbursement is. Basically they're saying we're lying about paying you so have fun.

So yesterday i make two purchases. One went through no problem, the other one got canceled buy the buyer with no response. He must have not had the plat. I opened a dispute with paypal, and the next morning my PA account was "suspended." My response was exact same to the live chat, was completely useless and gave me the trust email to send them. I hear it takes other people months before they get back to you, I really hope thats not the case. I see that PA's PR team, searches for post like mine and tries there best to fix it. I sent an email to that PR email he has provided as well. No response yet, I will keep all of you guys updated. I like PA, but this one opened my eyes to the negative side of PA. Chances are I'll take my business else ware if it is not handled in a timely matter.

As per checking, our relevant team are still working on your case.

13:47:18
I suggest you to kindly use different payment options sir.

Adam13:47:32
What does this mean even? It has been like this for two months and I Don't have access to a moneybookers account

13:47:38
All of my money from you guys is sent to PAYPAL

13:48:36
It doesn't make sense, it's like you don't want your company to make more money off of me. How much more reliable can a customer on your site get? I am verified and I am a powerseller and you guys keep screwing me for whatever reason

13:48:52
why did I pay $150 bucks for powerseller support when you guys just constantly tell me to use another payment option

Ralph13:49:55
Sorry for any inconveniences you may have experienced.

Adam13:50:03
Do you guys have a support phone number?

Ralph13:50:09
No sir.

13:50:25
We only answers in live chat.

Adam13:50:37
So when will these payment options be fixed for me?

13:50:41
Why are they even locked in the first place?

13:51:29
When I email support and powerseller support, is it you who answers the emails?

Ralph13:52:50
Our other members sir.

Adam13:53:40
Can you answer my other two questions? This is extremely inconvenient and I am getting no information out of you aside from go **** yourself, use another payment option

Ralph13:54:18

As part of our user agreement, we do not tolerate rude, harassing, or abusive correspondence under any circumstances. Your abusive language does nothing to help resolve your issue, which is first and foremost what I’d like to do.

Adam13:55:16
Well, I wasn't swearing at you. I was telling you how I feel. I have had this issue for two months and every time I talk to support you guys just tell me to use another payment option

Ralph13:55:51
Sorry about that sir but only our higher relevant team can answer you that.

Adam13:55:58
How do I contact them?

Ralph13:56:11
We dont have any control on your accounts or etc.

Adam13:56:19

Their support is useless. Theres no managers or nothing. Just live support and other "teams" and none of these other teams ever handle your concern or read yuor whole email

Buyers beware...I have been a loyal customer of playerauctions for many years because I believed they operated with integrity and held their sellers and buyers to the same level of integrity. I have 100% feedback and my integrity has never come into question. I purchased an account back in January 31, 2009 for a level 80 wizard on everquest. Over the years I have paid for all the expansions and monthly memberships fees. I also had a level 96 Berserker with over 4000 alternate advancement points that I worked very hard on. All toons on the account were geared well and the berserker had a mix of group and raid gear. There was a bazaar trader that had over 2 million in plat (game currency) and items as well. I tell you all of this because after nearly 4 years of owning this account and pouring time and cash into it...the original owner took it back. One thing Playerauctions will not tell you is that if the original owner of the account wants the account back..all they have to do is contact Sony and tell them that it was stolen. They still have all original info for account so there is no question in Sony's mind. Sony will not give any warning that the account is being taken back either. They de-guild the toons, take credit card info off of the account, change the e-mail registered to the account, and return it to the original owner. You get absolutely no info from Sony in the way of e-mails indicating account changes. What is worse is the guy is on the toons, playing the character I worked so hard on and even had the nerve to send me a private message, complaining that I moved his wizard to the FV server that he can't be transferred off of. This whole situation makes me sick, but not as sick as the e-mail I got from playerauctions. Playerauctions only suspended his playerauctions account..not banned. And since the original owner will not respond to them they are going to contact Sony and get the account banned instead of restoring it. Even worse...Playerauctions will not replace the 175.00 that I paid for the account at the time, which seems like the right thing to do since they profitted off of the seller's deception. 175.00 is not much money at all compared to what I have invested into the account. I guess for me it is the principle of the thing. I bought the account thinking all transactions were secured by PlayerGuardian Protection, but I guess they are only secured if you buy extra insurance on the account. They say I did not purchase the additional protection so they will not reimburse me anything I spent on the account. This is bad business as there are no warnings that these accounts can be taken back by the original owner at any time, which would have kept me from taking the risk in the first place. Sorry if I sound like I am just whining, but everyone who uses this site needs to be told the truth about account purchases. In the business world, loyal customers are valued, respected, rewarded, protected, and held onto no matter the cost. And before you judge, I made several recent purchases from Playerauctions at the end of last year before all of this happened. I purchased an account and platinum totaling nearly 600.00. Now you tell me...a loyal customer with perfect feedback spending a lot of cash with your company...would you blow them off like this? I told Playerauctions as much and will see if it gets them to change their handling of this situation, but I doubt it.

PS - Please don't be the next victim, protect yourself. I do not hold Playerauctions responsible for the actions of the original owner, but I do hold them responsible for representing themselves as safe and secure when representing crooked sellers. This is why I want market credit...I want them to take responsibility for representing the seller and taking some of my money themselves out of the crooked deal.

I was sent and email of them wanting $450.00 in fines? For supposed offsite trading that I was told was alright to do so by the power seller team and support team. My reputation is flawless, I have a good customer base. I was told that I can link my playerauctions account on other websites confirm who I was on playerauctions.com message system and make my sale. There is another seller who does this named Zaxxis and he was the reason I first emailed them about it, they told me it was ok to do so. Now that I have done so they have shut down my seller account in which I make a few hundred a week to live off of and was told this was 100% ok. Now I get a email with bogus fines. I think these fines are scams and whoever reported me is trying to scam playerauctions or is an ex-employee making these so called offsite claims. Because my customers are loyal and would never do this. 90% of my customers are return customers. My main complaint is I was told it was alright now there saying its not and trying to fine me. I just want a formal apology and my account reinstated. I did nothing I was not told I could do. If I was not able to do so then they should have not told me it was alright. I have solid documents showing members of management telling me it was alright to do what I was doing and was not considered offsite trading. I will strongly consider a lawyer if this is not resolved.
