Dawn Marie or Platinum Mini Bulldogs is very unorganized. She will e-mail you picture after picture after picture until you leave your deposit...thats when the pictures stop. Once they get your money, she could really care less if you get a puppy or not. It seems like more frequent than not, another litter didnt make it. So then you wait and wait and wait some more. She has been hard to get a hold of at times for a week plus at a time. To me this is very unprofessional. Her excuses were family issues, but to me, you shouldnt ignore your customers, you should get someone else to take over. I do not reccomend her if you are looking for a mini bulldog.

Our dog is alomost a year old now and i would like to update. Yes, he had many health issues when we first got him. he was extremely unhealthy and he had diarrhea for the first 3 MONTHS of having him. I am happy to report that as he gets older, he has less and less issues. He shows no signs of hip dysplasia, never had cherry eye. He is a very social dog and truely has the heart of a regular bully. He melts my heart and everyone he meets just falls in love with him. He currently weighs 46lbs and his 1st birthday is next week. He is not agressive at all and is a very gentle lover. Most of the problems we currently have with him, stem from him being a puppy mill dog, he isn't very bright, he still doesnt really know his name, he doesnt get discouraged if you yell when he chews something, or does something bad as most dogs do. I have put him in 2 training classes, but he has to be in the mood to perform tricks. All in all I would say he is 90% normal now, it is tough feeling like we have an autistic dog sometimes. I am happy to hear there was an investigation done on these breeders, because our dog was NOT healthy when we recieved him. It is sad that people would stoop so low to make a buck. I hope these people get what they deserve.

I have a beautiful five year old that was purchased by my daughte and son-in-law from Platinum and Dawn Marie in 2006. He is smart and 67 lbs. I would like to get more info about him but can find no phone numbers or email for Platinum. Does anyone have a number, address, etc., for them. I have read all the info about them and MBCOA.

As a volunteer at an animal shelter, I see sooo many beautiful, neglect, and mistreated animals come through. I am begging, BEGGING you to PLEASE seek out your local animal shelter...adoption is the best course of action. You can be sure that these animals are up on shots and wellness vet exams...AND they are already altered. The over population of dogs and cats results in over 4 million dogs, cats, puppies and kittens being kills (euthanized) every year just in the USA alone. When the only thing wrong with these animals is irresponsible owners and breeders. There is a BIG difference between reputable and responsible. No breeder is responsible..it's all about the money, always.

I purchased a puppy from Dawn Marie and I have to say that she was absolutely AWESOME. She answered every question I had, was quick to respond to both emails and calls. I never had an issue at all. She spent nearly two hours explaining all about bulldogs and their needs before I ever even bought him. A couple weeks after getting the puppy I had questions and she spent another 30 minutes to an hour answering those again. Several months later when I called she still spent the time with me on the phone. Dawn Marie was EXTREMELY knowledgeable and professional and I would recommend her to EVERYONE I know.

The Bulldog Exchange, Michelle Scharmer, Evan Quintavella, stacey krueger and all its fake affiliates are under investigation, have been shut down and as of Saturday one of the owners "Evan Quintavella" is potentially looking at felony charges for moving out of his forcelosed home and abandoning a starving bulldog in a cage with no access to food.

We have had the same problems as everyone else, Dawn Marie seemed to be such an honest and good person when you first start talking to her but you eventually start putting two and two together and then it's too late. We live in Canada, so it was more entailed bringing the pups up here. They were suppose to be sent together but weren't, plus, the shipping papers were screwed up. It was a real hassle for us to travel 5 hours each time to pick up the dogs.
Both arrived sick with dirrehea and she said they were fine when they left Florida. We only kept one pup, they ended up fighting too much and getting more serious with each fight.
Our dog now is one year old and we just found out a few months ago she has hip dysplasia. She also looks like she has a fair amount of pug in her looks(very cute though). Plus, she weighs 47 pounds and isn't fat at all.
Hopefully, that operation is out of business and they get sued to the hilt or charged by the police. They shouldn't be able to get away with ripping people off the way they have.

I completely agree with all of the above. Same story different customer. Dawn emailed picture after picture...until she got our deposit. Then, all communication stopped. And two weeks later...we were told that our puppy too had died! I wanted to get our money back and asked for this as my intuition told me that something was wrong. She would not give out her address (another red flag) and her phone number was constantly changing. I knew something was wrong...but at this point, she had our money! When I asked for a refund - she told me that she would make it all right and that we would have the first pick of the next litter. She sent numerous pictures and once we picked out the next pup - the communication stopped until about 3 days before the puppy was to be shipped. I left nice phone messages and then more urgent and not so nice phone messages. I thought she was a fraud. We received the puppy and she too had guardia. She was sick for the first 8 weeks that we had her. Dawn tried to say this was very common and that it shouldn't take long to get her healthy. She basically implied that the vet didn't know what she was doing. We have a beautiful girl and I wouldn't trade her - but she is 55 pounds (and was one of the smallest of her litters - as we wanted a little dog. HA!). Dawn should not be allowed to sell puppys and I'm afraid that she is operating a huge puppy mill! I thought I was the only one duped by her. Now I know there are others. There is no such thing as a miniature bulldog. Now I know why the AKC has not registered them. Never buy a dog over the internet.

My wife and I fell vectum to their deceitfull practice also to the tune of 3 puppies. We finally had our first litter from the one pair and they all came out beautiful as the mother is an awesome mother to her babies. Now, we're stuck with "Registered stock" that we cannot get papers for the litters. I have great customers that I wish I could do something for but it looks like I'm stuck with registered mutts. All are healthy and weighin around 40 - 48 lbs. If there is a way for anyone to tell me how to take over the "Club", let me know. I'll show you how to be customer oriented. Anyone can reach me at dsmith@jessinc.com.

We have had the same problems as all the others that have posted complaints regarding "platinum mini bulldogs". We originally picked out and fell in love with a puppy that we named "Atticus" ...even made "welcome home puppy invitations" and passed them out to all of our friends. -After we passed them out, (and a week before he was scheduled to arrive) we got the "phone call" that he died and we would have to pick out another puppy, all of this was after we paid half of the money for the puppy. Finally, two weeks later we picked out another puppy. During this process we received email after email after email, picture after picture after picture, feeling comfortable, we sent the remainder of the money and then all of the communication stopped on their end. After leaving numerous messages, phone calls and emails we received a date to pick up the puppy-4 hours away. We fell in love with the little fella when we saw him. Then the nightmares occurred, because he too had Guardia, he suffered from endless diarrhea. Now 10 months old and hundreds of dollars later, he weighs 53 pounds and he is not fat. Since we purchased the little guy, we have tried to contact Dawn Marie regarding his paperwork. To this day we have never received a response, nor have we received his paperwork. We have had bulldogs before-his legs are longer than the traditional bulldog, but he does have the other traits of a classic English bulldog and truly is beautiful. Although we love and adore our "child", we would NEVER do business with them again due to their negligence and lack of communication and professionalism.

Wow, I kind of hate to admit it but I have all the same complaints. My 7 month old male weighs 62 pounds, and he too had guardia which of course we and some of our friends also caught. If you have any experience with this you know how horrible of an ailment this is! Now after spending all this money on our pup, (who we love and has a fantastic personality) he just had to have eye surgery due to Trichiasis is both eyes ($1400) and that is just for the surgery. This tends to be hereditary. Before any of this though I had such a hard time getting in touch with her, the first puppy we were supposed to get ended up having some sort of issue with his tail being twisted and the nerves being damaged so after becoming totally enamored with that pup we had to pick a new one. She also blamed it on the weather and the power being out. She also mentioned someone in the family running the business into the ground. I feel like a fool but I love my millionaire dog :(

I am so freaked out to hear your stories! We got out bully from her as well. Dawn Marie was so strange the whole time. She did what she said she would do but she didn't make it comfortable. I requested to pick the dog up from her (he was staying in her house with the family so she said) and was not allowed to. She gave me some story abut needing to ship him out...rebuilding the kennel, etc. I too asked about the parents...no pics or even a description. I thought the whole time i was being scammed but we had fallen in love with the picture of our puppy. He arrived and honestly, he is so good natured and so beautiful. He also had horrible bouts with guardia when he arrived which very hard to get rid of. I felt so bad for him. this iis common with a lot of puppies, not just puppy mill dogs. Our baby is now 16 MONTHS AND 55 LBS...NO MINI! I feel like such an IDIOT! My dog has really long legs. I have often wondered if he is mixed as well but he does have classic bulldog traits. I am also so glad their websites have been disabled. I wonder if more can be done to punish them for their scam. ?

OMG, we have two miniature bulldogs from Dawn marie. She is so nice until you give her the money, then all communication stops. I agree with the whole family situation being such a scam. I was also looking at a pup from Bulldog Exchange and Dawn Marie talked so badly about Stacey her cousin, but yet Dawn Marie didn't even live where the pupppies were located in Florida. I always wondered what kind of operation they were running. I was asking for simple things like pictures of the mom and dad and she gave me the biggest run around, like oh my cousin has the picutes and they are having a big storm so I will have to get them to you later, and days would go by and no pictures. She always had excuses about being sick, she even said at one point that her house had burned down! Why was I so stupid! We finally managed one picture of the mom, but no way would she give up the pedigree. The first bulldog that we got was actually healthy, but he weighs 65 pounds and is not fat! But we were sooooooooooooo stupid to go back to her for a second pup. We wanted a female and I just happend to look on her site and find a beautiful little girl that I fell in love with. But the nightmare started over again with the shipping, never being able to commit to a date when the pup would be coming. She kept saying she was too small and they would have to give her something to make her gain more weight. When she finally came so was huge! the paper that came with the kennal said she weighed 9 pounds but I took her to the vet the next day and she already weighed 12 pounds at 8 weeks. Along with that came tons of diarrhea because she had guardia. She was sick for weeks and vet bill just kept piling up. She also had demodex on her head and some problem with her feet being very tender and irritatied. She has the sweetest personaltiy but the poor thing has been through hell with the vet and all of the medication. I am thrilled to see that their websites have been disabled. I hope that they have been put out of business.

We had the same issue with Dawn. Once we submitted payment, she stopped returning emails and phone calls.

I believe her dogs are imported from Europe, as my pup has a european micro chip.

A highly unprofessional outfit.

WE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH DAWN MARIE. WE DID EVENTUALLY RECEIVE OUR PUPPY BUT DAWN MARIE WAS NEVER AVAILABLE. SHE EITHER HAD HEALTH ISSUES OR WAS MOVING ETC.SHE HAS NEVER CALLED US TO SEE HOW THE PUPPY IS DOING OR EVEN GET US THE PAPER WORK FOR HER. I CALLED STACEY HER CO-OWNER AND TOLD HER AND SHE MORE OR LESS BLEW ME OFF AND SAID DAWN MARIE WOULD CONTACT US...STILL WAITING. OUR PUPPY HAS BEEN ON MEDICATIONS SINCE WE GOT HER FOR DIFFERENT THINGS ALSO. I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS BREEDER TO ANYONE. DO YOUR RESEARCH.
