Petco grooming

Took my Poodle to the groomer at Petco in Homewood, IL at the end of July seeing they are only 5 min away from me. I should have knew something was wrong when we first entered because my Poodle growled at the groomer and initially didn't want to go to her. He has never growled at a person before. Well sure enough, she knicked him pretty bad on the side of his face and unfortunately it wasn't showing when I picked him up. About an hour later when I got home I saw a red spot on his face and some blood. I couldn't take him back up there because when I picked him up the store was closing. And I couldn't go back the next day because my schedule was tight but you better believe I marched him right back up there that following day to complain to the manager and show him/her my dogs injury. I was told both managers of the store and grooming dept were on vacation. I left my info so I could be contacted the following week when they returned. Not only the nick on his face but when he sits, the hair was cut down too low on his knees where you can see a bald spot. Never heard from either one of the managers.

I took my Poodle to another Petco location last week who is about a 30 min drive from me and shared with them my experience from the other store just in case my dog gave them a hard time. They insisted I reached out to Mgmt again because I was told someone should have responded to me. Sure enough, when I picked my dog back up, they told me my dog had been traumatized by the experience because every time they tried to cut his hair on his head, it was challenging. He remembered. And I knew she was telling the truth because I never told her the location of his injury...SMH! It is over 2 months and I STILL HAVE NOT heard from a manager apologizing or anything from that store. I even took pictures. Petco doesn't care about these animals! Alls they want is the money! So disgusted with them. They don't deserve to be a national chain the way they treat animals! I understand mistakes happen but not to tell me what happened and then it respond is unacceptable!

Petco customer service

I was going to check out my cat food which was on sale from 34.99 to 20.99. After it was wrung up and the order went through, I noticed that the sale did not come off. When I asked if I could get it for the sales price The woman at the register who was already unfriendly in her nature said that nothing could be done because it wasn't on sale. After asking for the manager, she said she would give me my money back. But I wanted the cat food for the sale price, not my money back. The manager seemed nice and was able to help, but the woman at the register was just absurdely rude.

I have been going to petco for years for catfood, but after this incident and a few other minor issues with cashiers, I will be switching to amazon. I just thought PETCO should know why they are losing a loyal customer.

Petco dead reptile

I bought a baby chain kingsnake on sale from Petco, Northlake Blvd, PBG Fl. I brought him home still active and healthy and set him in a small container with a water dish, some paper towels to hide in, and left him be for a couple days where he ate a pinkie mouse I got the date of purchase 9/4/17. He then died over night 9/8/17. I breed reptiles and have over 20 snakes currently all legal and native to Florida. I have only had a reptile die when given to me in poor conditions to begin with. This item was sold on sale for 25% off and I see why now.

Petco store cleanliness

Store located on 160 E. El Camino Real
Sunnyvale, CA

Upon entry of the store today, this store was less than unsatisfactory in terms cleanliness. The grooming department entry at at least 2 pee puddles that looked like they had been left there and dried up. The floor was with dirty wipe smudges through out and visually shown. The grooming area has chunks of dog hair everywhere from different types of sago as if they where leaving all dog hair collected for the day until the end of the day. All I could think about how many fleas were in those piles of dog hair. When we went to the restroom we had to immediately walk out. My 3 year old son gagged from the smell that came from that restroom not to mention the restroom looked like it had been cleaned in months. In that same were outside the restrooms there where at least 3 yellow mop buckets with mops that were least filled with water and the water was literally swamp black. When walking through the isles to talk to the manager at the check stand there was trash through out the store on the floor. I brought up my concerns to the manager and he said yeah well we are going through a remodel. I explained that there is still no excuse for the condition of the store through out because of a remodel. He further explained that they were short staffed and people had quit. I asked if he's expressed the needs of the store to his boss and he said he had. I can't believe that a store would be permitted to operate and have customers in a store in such horrid conditions. We had been customers of the Morgan Hill Petco in Morgan Hill for 10 years and had never experienced nothing even remotely close to what I experience at this Sunnyvale location. Being that we now live in Sunnyvale I hope to see this change to become our preferred local Petco. If not I'll have to go back to Morgan Hill despite the fact that we no longer live it that areas. It's quite sad.

Petco fish tanks

I went to buy my little sister a calico goldfish but we couldnt because the fish that were in the tank had ich. All of the tanks in the store were disgusting it looked like no one worked there at all. The animals there look like they're dying i used to love going to petco for things for my pets but now im going to be going elsewhere because it looks to me like u guys dont care at all for animals

Petco former employee

Labor laws are broken and they change our time punches to cut down labor hours.
The few groomers that are left never take breaks yet management is forced to change our time punches to add "unpaid lunch breaks" which cuts down on labor costs.
This is all orchestrated by the district managers, who scream abuse and threaten their subordinates into doing these things to keep their own job.
If they find someone willing to do these things willingly, those sociopaths get promoted. As you would expect.
Dm's personally try to fire you if you ask them reasonable questions about getting paid correctly or obtaining osha approved equipment.
I was treated like [censor] because I demanded they fix our neglected, broken equipment so we could do our jobs properly...
Management tried to write me up for anything they could find until I was fired.
Don't ever work there unless you actually get off of abusing people.

Petco pet social class

Help I'm filing this complaint against the "trainer" at the Holland branch. We refuse to take our puppy there after noticing a few problems. They didn't check shot records or make us fill out any paperwork. I'm extremely disturbed by how many puppies they allow in such a small space. It's extremely overwhelming, I expect a real dog trainer knows having close to 10 puppies all in a tight space is not good for socilazing. Also the puppies need to feel safe to have them just get stepped on and tumbled teaching inappropriate manners is unacceptable. I also don't want my dog exposed to puppies that haven't seen a vet due to obvious reasons.

Petco limestone commercial dr - grooming /nail clip abuse

My name is Jana Williams, yesterday my boyfriend took my miniature dachshund Poe to have his nails clipped. When my dog returned home, he was shaking, he threw up and his feet were all bloody. All of his toes had been clipped down to the point that I saw his nerves and one of his front toes being cracked in half. I then called petco and spoke to a groomer who instantly put me on hold to get Cody the manager. I was told that they held my little guy down and was seen by a new groomer. I was given a horrible forced apology. Was not offered a refund but they offered to pay for something they carry in store that would stop the bleeding, mentioned the word cauterize and instantly said he didnt want to use the word cauterize because it sounded bad. I go to petco at least 2 a week for my dog and my gecko's crickets and donate every time I go. I am devastated and appalled that these "animal experts" were given any authority to even be near an animal. I would expect that petco employees are animal lovers poke myself and consider pets as family members - which now my dog and myself are horrified. I will never go to another petco again. I was told not to bring my dog back either. I can't even express how upset and disgusted I am. I'm considering taking legal action due to the pain and suffering my family member was put through. It took almost 2 hours for the bleeding to stop. I am heartbroken and will discourage anyone who is thinking about using petco groomers or even going to their stores. I would rather pay hundreds of dollars to have his grooming needs done and know that he was in no way hurt and it was done by a professional than consider ever going back to have them give me one of their products. I do not trust petco at all and it should be almarming to know that these stores get away with this disgusting behavior.

Petco petco brand food

On today I visited the Petco location in Forestville, MD they were completely out of the small bags of the Petco brand dog food. Not only were they out of the small bags but they also were out of every small bag of every flavor of the store brand food. This is completely unacceptable after being convinced by a store employee to switch my dog's to this brand and being on a budget, for this store to be completely out at 8:30 at night and the nearest store is 30 minutes away which means more gas wasting and time wasting. The store employee told me today that they will be out until Monday today is Friday, So in turn I now have to go to a 7 eleven and deal with the agony of giving my dog a different brand of food which may or may not cause him an allergy and/or digestion issues. This has caused me to be extremely upset and is extremely inconvenient and hopefully this complaint can persuade management to do a better job with demand and supply on hand orders.

Petco a cat toy.

I went to pick up toys for my parakeet and I came across a cat toy that was of a parakeet. I know usually cats and birds stereotypically don't get along so this toy isn't for it to have a particularly great friendship with. The toy is very disturbing and shouldn't be tolerated. I find that it's promoting abuse against parakeets, or birds in general. Why are you using someone's pet as a beatup toy? I find this extremely offensive and discriminating towards parakeets and want this toy off the market as soon as possible.

Petco this company is a scam

Still thinking about a reason of dealing with them. I ordered some food for my dog and it never arrived. It's been 2 months since then and I already stopped waiting. Because who cares? Phoned them - no one picks up, they are absolutely unreachable. Maybe I'm not the only one who wants a refund and they avoid us. Please, someone, look into the matter.

Petco nature's miracle scratching deterrent spray

I recently went to Petco to purchase this Scratching deterrent spray for my cat because he keeps damaging our furniture. The employee in Petco ASSURED me that this one was the best and it works & other customers uses it & it has good reviews. I used this spray twice & it didn't work. My cat went immediately after I used it on the furniture & started Scratching. I have previously used this spray for dogs for the same problem & they employees assured me it works and when I used it for my dog it didn't work. Now I'm upset because their false advertising. Telling people this product works and it does not.

Petco imagiturium newport 20 gallon wooden tank dtand/ online order

I ordered two of the item listed above from Amazon by accident, intending to order one. I thought "no problem, I can just cancel one of them". I purchased them last night (8/25), and emailed petco.com immediately after the purchase, requesting that one of them be cancelled. I received an email this morning (8/26), stating the order had been processed and was unable to be cancelled. The email stated that I could bring the item into a store upon receiving it and that store credit would be provided, or that I could ship the item back and pay for shipping costs. I was very confused when I got this email because according to Amazon the item had not even shipped yet. Why would an item not be able to be cancelled when it has not even shipped yet? And why would getting store credit or have the customer pay to ship it back be the only options? I even attempted to contact petco.com before the items shipped and they were unable to pull the order up in the system. At this time, I have received emails stating that both items have now officially shipped, I do not feel that I should only have the option to get store credit or pay for the shipping to ship it back when the item should have been cancelled upon request of cancellation seeing that the item was not even shipped at that time. This has been a nightmare and a big inconvience.

Petco customer service

I have never been treated so rudely by anyone as I wad at petco in topeka. Didn't get a welcome, how can I help, or have a good day all because im a former employee. I spent money petco and didn't deserve to be treated with so much disrespect. There are 2 employees there that treat me with respect, but they weren't there today! Management needs to step up and advise this employee to be professional to all customers.

Petco nail cut and buffing.

I brought my dog in to the Dover petco today August 24, 2017. I got there a few minutes before 5. As I walked in I saw a sign that said grooming salon will close today at 5pm. I wasn't sure if that was for today or other days. I go to petco quite often, I've always gotten my dogs nails done there and to my knowledge they've always been open until 8. I asked if they were closed and explained I was trying to get my dogs nails cut and buffed. The woman said she could do that just did not want to do a bath. She did the paperwork and took my dog and had asked the other worker if she wanted to do it explaining she knew it was 5 so if she didn't want to that was okay but the girl agreed to do it. I went and paid. As I was waking back I heard my dog yelp. As I said before I have always gone to get his nails done there and he has NEVER done that before. I certainly was concerned but I trust (ed) petco at the time because I always go there. Usually it takes about 5 minutes, it took about 15 this time. I am assuming the girl doing it was new. They finished and brought my dog out. We walked to the car and when we got in I looked st his nails. They were chopped so short and bloody. Which is not okay. I am so saddened and mad by this experience as I will never go back to petco again. As if it isn't bad enough for a dog to get there nails done, now my dog will be petrified because of this. I don't care if the girl was new or worked there for 10 years, it is so not okay. I have attached pictures so you can see for yourself how horrible it looks and painful it must be for my poor pup.

Petco grooming

We are banned from bringing our sweet Bichon Frise to Petco in Clark, NJ. You be the judge if this is fair. We have been bringing our dog, now age 5, to Petco in Clark for grooming since the store opened in 2015. When we first brought him here, we told the staff that he sometimes has itchy skin due to allergies, and that we prefer they not use perfumed soaps.in June of 2017 (June 19th at 4pm, groomer was George), after almost two years of great service and predictably good haircuts (and A LOT of money spent on products and services), our dog came home with razor burn on his butt (below his tail). It looked sensitive, and our dog kept trying to lick it. We did not call to complain because we thought that, in a day or two, it would heal naturally as his hair grew back.

As the week went on, it became apparent that we needed to take him to the vet (Westfield Animal Hospital on South Avenue in Garwood). Guess what? Our veterinarian absolutely agreed that our dog had razor burn. We were charged for this visit and had to put our dog on anti-itch meds and antibiotics. LOTS more money spent.

Well, we’ve been paying Petco for multiple grooming sessions over the years and giving 10-15% tips, so we figured we would call Petco to let them know that the groomer assigned to our dog that day had shaved him too close and gave him an expensive case of razor burn. You know what they said? They said, “Your dog has allergies and itchy skin. That’s what you told us - it’s in our records.” Maybe we’re naïve, but we were hoping for an apology and maybe 10% off of our next grooming appointment. It would have been REALLY nice and even more appropriate if they had picked up the vet bill and gave us our next grooming session for free. But you know what we got? That’s right: BANNED from stinking Petco in Clark. Okay, to be fair, when my husband was accused of having an itchy dog, he was not too pleased with the manager who refused to take any ownership or responsibility for either the razor burn or the snip-happy groomer, so he raised his voice (he NEVER curses or condescends). He merely stated, “Don’t tell me that it was just itchy skin and allergies. This was razor burn and we have the vet bill to prove it)! My, my, that is certainly a terrible threat and grounds for being BANNED. Oh, yes, I forgot: we would like you to be the judge. So, do you think Petco was right to ban us, or is Petco in Clark to blame for being too quick to cover up when they make a costly and painful mistake on someone’s pet?

Petco dog training

I've been coming to this location for years 5011 E Ray Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85044. We got a new puppy and decided to go through petco we paid for it upfront 4 weeks ago and finally the trainer said 8/22/17 which I didn't know why 4 weeks later my wife called yesterday to confirm the employee had to ask the manager I believe her name was sue told us there's no class schedule on 8/22/17 at 10am. When we asked to speak to the manager she couldn't talk to us why I wished I knew. So the employee said we have to call the trainer at 6pm tonight to ask her. So went the next morning to speak to someone and guess what there was a class at 10am and sue had the nerve to say why didn't you call the trainer at 6pm. We were busy we don't sit around to wait on the trainer schedule. I asked her why didn't you or the trainer call us when you knew we called. We asked for a refund which she did but no I'm sorry for the confusion or let me see what we can do nothing. Very disappointed

Petco hostile employee

To who this may concern I have been going to Petco for a long time and on a first-name basis with the employees there I even at one point worked there at the store in Mesa off of Gilbert and University there is a new employee girl named Ciara I was in line waiting to check out today while there were two lanes open Connie an employee that I am well familiar with had taken care of six customers and the time that Syria was taking one customer and continue to chat and giggle with what seemed to be possibly a friend even if it was a customer there was a line of people behind us I walked up to her and asked her if she could please do her job and take care of the customers and stop jaw jacking was the exact words I used I was extremely polite about this she turned to me and told me that she was not a cashier and that there were other people that could help I told her then why don't you Paige somebody else I'm sorry but when you apply for a job you don't just do what you're hired for you do whatever the company needs you to do she continued to turn around and talk to the three young girls that started a an argument with me telling me to f off and leave her alone that they were trying to get information and that I was being rude I stated to them that they could step aside and wait for her to finish taking care of customers before getting her phone number and showing pictures to each other on her cell phone I'm sorry but no employee should talk to a customer in this way and this is not the first time that she sits there and gabs I've been in the store a couple times and had to go to a different line because she likes to chat with her friends that come into the store I spoke to Connie and told her that I would appreciate it if she could tell the management about her behavior Connie relate to me that this is not the first time that she has had problems with her I believe this employee should lose her job I spend hundreds of dollars at your location I have six dogs two cats and many other pets As I Am a foster for homeless pets if you would like to continue my business I would like to see her removed or relocated. It is very disappointing to see young people nowadays not care about their job. Also two customers behind me where a static that I address the situation the even told me that they would no longer return to the store I told him it was shame because normally this location has extremely helpful and polite customer service so not only would you be losing my business but it would seem that you are losing other clientele do to this employee

Petco former employee

I am a former employee at petco. I have seen first hand that the animals are neglected not cared for and that there habitats never meet health code. The stores are infested with roaches, black widows, and maggots. The dead animals are stored in a freezer in the back for a couple months until someone comes to throw them out. The animals dont get treated if the medical bills are to high. The death rate is the reason that petco never makes any money in animal sales. The employee are mistreated and have there workers rights violated. so many labor laws are broken in these stores. An employee actually wrote in the yearly manager reviews saying they wish they could take there lunches and breaks. The quit rate at these stores is sky high due to the managers mistreating the employees. The groomers have to make a certain amount of money every week to be able to possibly make that amount they have to skip lunches and breaks or there jobs are in danger. They are to scared to say anything. The managers are always just sitting on there lazy [censor] not doing anything if there even there most of the time they leave and dont come back till the end of the shift manually entering in there times so they get paid. The company has even stole money from the groomers this year they had to give checks to groomers over $1000 in money they stole from them to keep them quiet about it. And if you threaten to report anything then your job is in trouble they will give bad comments to future employers so that you cant get a job basically blacklisting you. which is illegal by the way. A manager has even walked into an employee abusing a customers pet and said or did nothing. There is bullying and discrimination caught on tape and constantly reported to management and I seen first hand what they do with the reports they end up in a file that is never seen and always ' misplaced'. This needs to stop these stores should be shut down. Due to wanting the privacy of my identity I will name a couple of stores that may be the specific store I am talking about but the employees who read this will know... SAN JOSE, SUNNYVALE, MOUNTAIN VIEW, SANTA CLARA All these stores located in CA

Petco fish supplies

I have been a loyal customer to petco for years now, so I went about purchasing a fish tank and the supplies for the fish tank and was charged full amount of $100 and for everything. Even tho it was 50% off the fish tank. I paid it in full and they could not refund my money back. As for the supplies, not once have I received my 5% back from my rewards. Petco had disappointed me. Scammed me out of a fish tank. No longer a rewards customer/customer!
