Perrywinkles Jewelry / Awful company
My wife and I purchased our wedding rings at Perrywinkles Jewelry in Watertown, New York. The day before our wedding, they called me to inform me that they received the wrong wedding ring for me. Inconvenience #1. So my wife had to go their and get our money back so we can go somewhere else to purchase my wedding ring. Then, the day after we got married, October 5, 2008, three diamonds on her wedding band turned yellow while the other eight diamonds did not change. While on our honeymoon we noticed that the same yellow tinged three diamonds were getting darker each day and at the end of our week away they turned dark brown. When we got home from our honeymoon we took her ring back to Perrywinkles so they can look at it and see what was wrong. Inconvenience #2. After cleaning the diamonds and the whole ring the yellow tinge was gone...for that day. The store manager, told us that same day, Tuesday October 14, that 'real diamonds do not turn yellow.' However, the next day the same three diamonds turned yellow again. So we had to go back to Perrywinkles and give them the ring so they can send it off to their jeweler for them to fix it and so my wife can be without her ring for a week and half.
Inconvenience #3. After having to call them today to find out when my wife's ring will be done, they informed us this Friday, October 24 that we can pick it up. I asked them if we can get compensated for the inconveniences of her ring and they said that they will give us a gift certificate to the store. After all of these inconveniences, it is ridiculous and absurd for them to think that we will shop at their store again. We are concerned with the quality of these three diamonds and for that matter all of the diamonds on her wedding band and engagement ring. Enough said, case in point.
