Pearl Vision - Randolph, NJ / Avoid this unprofessional establishment!

I recently went to Pearl Vision on Rt. 10 in Randolph NJ. I went for the works and got an eye exam, contact lenses, and a brand new pair of glasses in total I spent nearly $600. I wore the glasses for about a year, then when I was in a Lens Crafters looking for new fun frames, the doctor there said they could look up my prescription right off my current lenses. When the doctor came back out after verifying my prescription they noticed a serious issue in the left lens. As it turned out, Pearl Vision dispensed my left lens for "prism" which is a condition I have never had and my understanding is that it is for people with double vision problems which I have never had. The new Lens Crafters doctor informed me that the degree to which the prescription was incorrect is actually illegal and could have caused serious damage or caused me to have double vision. I wore these glasses for about year, now I do not know how much damage has been done in my left eye. I will NEVER go to another Pearl Vision again and would recommend that others avoid this unprofessional establishment that may have rendered serious damage to my eye sight.

    Only last week did I purchase new glasses after receiving "the works" as you had. I can say with confidence that this was my best experience in dealing with an optical store in a decade. Further, the service was friendly, as the doctor was well-qualified in justifying his recommendations to me. The assistant was not only very courteous, but I felt a genuine concern for my satisfaction throughout my experience. I am unsure of what the circumstances surrounding your ordeal may have been, but I must wholeheartedly disagree with your assessment of these fine individuals. In conclusion, I would recommend this establishment to my friends and family, and hope others would follow suit. Thank you for reading.

    I have been going to this Pearle Vision for years and would highly recommend this establishment to anyone. As for your so called complaint, if you knew anything about glasses, you should know that "prism" can be caused by warping which due to severely bent frames or sunlight. For example leaving your glasses on the dashboard of your car exposing them to high heat and sunlight for extended periods of time can warp a lens in turn bending the light. Many years ago I had a similar situation were my lenses got warped from doing just that. Glasses are very delicate and need to be treated accordingly. Your complaint sound like an opinion based on a common problem. Pearle Vision in Randolph is highly respected by and dedicated to their customers. I am sure they will assist you in any way they can to rectify your problem.

    I'd want a 3rd opinion before passing judgment on Pearl. It isn't unusual for one establishment to portray the competition as incompetent. With some prescriptions and lenses it is normal to add harmless amounts of prism to help make the lenses thinner and lighter.

    I'd be very surprised if prism could be caused by warping. Prism has to be ground into the lens.

    recently i referred a co-worker to this location, upon him googling directions he came upon this website. he told me about this disgruntel patient so i wanted to give my feedback. i have been going to this location for about 8-9 yrs and i found it very hard to believe that the operator of this location wouldnt help, he is outstanding in customer service and always makes you feel comfortable in your spendings. so i told him about this, of course she left out an important part, even though the lense had worped at no fault of him ,he still replaced it for her at no charge. he always stands behind his work. seems to me that she had some buyers remorse. mysery loves company!

    What makes this complaint interesting to me is that Lenscrafters and Pearle Vision are both owned by the same parent company (Luxottica Frame Company). So the Lenscrafters doctor was giving you an excuse to sue his own company, which really doesn't make sense.

    Recently, I went the the Pearle Vision in Randolph and had a great experience there. I was very happy with both the customer serivce and quality. Sadly, who ever made the complaint about this store is unhappy with there life and doesn't have the capability of being able to tell a good store from a bad one.

    i have been a customer of this establisment for years and find them competent and professional. If the prescription was for someone with double, vision don't you think the lense would have affected your vision?? I'd get a third opinion before posting a knee jerk bad review.

    The guy who runs the place is a crook. listen to this story. Last month i went in the store because the right arm of the glasses just felt of. (Made in china) the owner there said he would replace it for $50, reasonable i assumed. I had the classes delivered today now the price changed to $150. This guy is a crook, and i will never do any business with that place again. The positive feedback that is posted on the board is the lady that works for them writing it. sorry guy people are not easily fool by people like you now a days.
