Peach Direct review: Customer service is crap! 52

This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

I was suckered into ordering from Peach Direct. I was excited that I finally had the digital camera I have always wanted. Well here it is 1 month later, and I still have not received my merchandise. When you call customer service, you get the same response. "Order is pending" My favorite is not once but twice I was told that the shipping department does not update their records regularly and it may already be on the way as we speak. My response was I was already told that two weeks ago.

I informed them that if I did not receive my merchandise by Christmas, they were to cancel the order. In the meantime, I have been billed by GE Money Bank for products I have never received. I called GE Money Bank and they told me Peach Direct would be the company I need to call.

I want off the merry go round. My next call is to the Attorney General. Anyone want to jump aboard?

My experience with Peachdirect started off a little rocky, but "D" in customer service really bent over backwards to solve my problem. Not only did he solve my problem, he was able to give a discount for the trouble. Once "D" started to work on my account, I had my product within a week or so with the discount.

Thanks to "D" at Peachdirect

P.S. I am not an employee of, nor am I affiliated in any way other than being a customer, Peachdirect

I order playstation 3 from this computer and when I received the bill it was already late. I called no answer then come to find out it was on my credit report. This is the biggest rip over company I ever seen. There should be a lawsuit against GE Money Bank. Anyone want to join?

I worked for PeachDirect for about a year. Company is a scam so I left. For everyone here who has a complaint, I would suggest just going right to the "top" of the organization. I believe the CEO and founder is Ron Drory who is a scary individual that yells at everyone. Its about time that someone yelled back at him. The CFO is I believe is a lazy ### named Tom Clark. And, when I worked there, there was no one there named D Kim. You were getting an Indian trained to speak with a western accent. Why would someone just use "D" and not give you his real first name?

They are located physically on Wilshire Blvd in Los Angeles CA. They used to have an office in Santa Monica. Positive comments are likely coming from their "Marketing" staff. If you want any further specific details about this company, feel free to email me anytime.

When I got the Peach Direct flyer I was given a $2000 credit limit. I ordered an HP computer with 19" flat screen monitor, an HP fax/scanner/copier and a wireless keyboard. I received my shipment with 2 weeks. Then I ordered another flat screen monitor and it arrived within another 2 weeks. I got in on the "pay no interest" for 1 year special. I have had no problems "knock on wood" with any of my equipment. Nor with GE Money company. I paid them monthly online and paid them off before my year was up to save on the interest.
When I typed in PeachDirect.com tonight on the computer, I was directed to a new website called VENUE.com. I guess that's the new PeachDirect. It looks like the same merchandise that PeachDirect offered. And Venue has a promotion of "no interest for 18 months". Hopefully, I'll get a pre approved flyer for that as I need a laptop.
I read how many people were take advantage of by PeachDirect and I'm sorry you all had bad experiences. I've had my share of bad experiences with other companies.

You know...So many people are absolutely ridiculous. I read these posts and some seem legitimate, but the majority make no sense. Think of it this way...You buy a new car, you finance it through, let's say...Chase Bank. Tell me, do you go and complain to Chase Bank instead of the dealership or auto manufacturer? Do you stop making payments to your auto loan? NO! GE Money is no different than any other bank except the fact that they have the largest Sales Finance division in the US, therefore they finance more products financed through stores than any other bank, so yes, people are going to blame them because a store or other vendor made a mistake.

Having had reservations about ordering from Peachdirect, I contacted Dean Kim at the executive offices to inquire about in-stock status for a Panasonic plasma TV that I was interested in ordering. The next day, I received an email from Ahmad Shaker at the same office who informed me that the TV was in stock and available for immediate shipping. I placed the order on Feb. 12. The day after the order was placed (Feb. 13), Mr. Shaker emailed me that he was personally overseeing this order and had forwarded it directly to their fulfillment center. The TV was shipped on Feb. 14 and received in perfect condition on Feb. 19 (2 days ahead of schedule).

I am EXTREMELY happy and satisfied with the service I have received from Peachdirect, and thank Dean Kim and Ahmad Shaker for all their help. I look forward to placing my next order soon.

As to the complaints regarding pricing and interest rates, the price I paid (with a 10% discount) including shipping was only a few dollars more than I would have paid at BestBuy/CircuitCity/Frys with sales tax, and the interest rate and terms on the Peachdirect credit card aren't significantly different than those on the BestBuy/CircuitCity/HomeDepot/OfficeDepot and other store branded cards.

Wow. I am amazed at a lot of the complaints, since I have ordered twice from them, and both times, I had absolutly no problems. Ordered a VERY nice HP Laptop back in June. It arrived promptly in just less than 2 weeks, and was prefect in every way. Soon after I ordered a new Digital Camera, since mine got trashed. Again, it took less than 2 weeks for me to get it. Perhaps it is what some have said; it was a rough start for them. But now that they have established themselves a bit more, they may be much better. Like I said, I have had nothing but good experiences with them, and I plan to use them many times, as they make luxery items very affordable for me.

About 7 months ago, I ordered a PS3 from Peach Direct. Yea, it was overpriced but I had 4 months to pay it off before being charged finance charges. 3 weeks after placing the order, and many phone calls to find out the status of the order, I decided to cancel the order. The satisfaction guarantee states you will receive order within 2-3 weeks. I cancelled right at the 3 week mark. I even called back 2 days later to make sure it was cancelled because the status online hadnt changed. Still said 'pending'. They told me the order was in fact cancelled. Ok cool. 2-3 weeks later, after order was cancelled, I received the PS3 from UPS. I didnt know the package was from Peach Direct, it was shipped from the vendor, Ingram Entertainment. If I knew it was from Peach Direct I could have refused it. As soon as I opened it and realized what it was, I called Peach Direct. They told me they would send out return shipping labels. 3 weeks later, nothing. I called and this time they told me that game consoles were not returnable. Excuse me? You shipped it even after I cancelled it. They would not do anything. So I disputed the charge with GE and was immediately credited back the purchase price while the dispute was pending. The dispute has now just recently finished and I still have the PS3. Looks like I got the best of those idiots this time. But I wont be doing any business with them anymore... although they do have some nice pots and pans Id like to order.

I had ordered a 42inch plasma tv from Peach Direct. Shipping took over a month but the item did arrive. The shipping was expensive also but I have not had any problems with the tv.I also pre-ordered Halo3. This item arrived the day after the release.I just ordered Guitar hero3 and a few Nintendo ds games. We will see how long it takes to arrive and I will post a follow up. Maybe they have their act together now.

I ordered from Peach Direct not knowing until after how much of a rip off this company along with GE Money really are. I ordered my Toshiba laptop in August 2007. After ordering I started reading all the bad comments on these websites and started to get worried that I had made a mistake. Then on September 11th my laptop arrived, oh joy but it did not last. By September 23rd my laptop's hard drive was defective. I called and have been calling ever since to get this corrected. Toshiba told me to call Peach Direct back to get a replacement. I was told by Peach Direct on the 23rd of September that return shipping labels would be mailed to me and I should receive them in 2 - 3 weeks, not understanding because the mail should take no longer than 5 days (even from CA). All I ever received from Peach Direct Customer Service is the run a around. No one can ever give you a straight answer. Finally on November 2nd and still no return shipping labels, I cancelled the order with Peach Direct and GE Money who by the way calls every other day wanting their money. I have filled out dispute letters and mailed them in and I still am getting hassled. NO WAY would I ever recommend this company to anyone not even my worst enemy.

I am SO glad I saw this. I was JUST about to apply for a card with them. I was looking for promo codes and found this by accident.

As glad as I am, I'm also a bit disappointed. I was really looking forward to getting a iPod that only required a minimum monthly payment of $15 bucks. Does anybody know of a LEGITIMATE site that offers actual Peach Direct deals?

Well folks let me give you an update. Recently I finally after 3-4 months got a e-mail from someone who is from the missing complaint department. He said he was going to resolve the situation. It is now a week later and I am still waiting. I think I was suppose to take comfort in the fact that they at least his words not mind contacted me. It is hard to believe that there are these many complaints out here and the attorney general refuses to get involved. What is also unbelievable is that their employee whom they trained get to miss inform you and they only want to apologize with a 100.00 credit that you don't want from these people for a mistaken (misformation) cost you 500.00. I think that Attorney General is the way to go anybody with an idea of how to get them to pay attention to this beyond just filing the complaint please please let me know. I have a product computer that does not have a CD RM and has 2 jump drives but only one is operational. This is on top of everything else. Oh! the best for last the 3 in one printer breaks down anytime it runs out of paper. You have to call HP to get it going again. Loads of fun. I am really angry and know for certain this company is a rip off. Do not ever spend money with them again if you can help it.

I am so glad I decided to look up reviews on this company before I joined! I'm really sorry to hear about the bad experiences, sometimes 'pre-approved' can be so tempting to many of us. I saw a beautiful gucci watch I've been wanting for so long in the booklet that was sent to me, I guess I'll just continue to save for it like I was.

I got their flyer in the mail and called them and made an order before I ever seen these sites about how bad they have been to others. I got what I orderd, (Pc and 17 inch monitor) brand new in 6 working days. The peach direct card and billing info also came in the u.s. mail the same day. the pc and monitor was shipped UPS. INTREST is always applied to credit purchases, sears card is about 24.9 percent I dont hear people ### about them. I have 5 or 6 months intrest free as long as i pay my bill on time. You dont get that with alot of companies. they were on the up and up with me. I now find it hard to believe all that other crap. I will buy again !

I too have had bad experiences with peach direct. I ordered a 56 inch television from Peach Direct. And you guys are absolutely correct as far as their service goes. There customer servise does not know what in the hell they are doing. I have had one rep by the name of Sarah Cyble. She was the only one who knew what the hell she was doing. I understand the it is not peaches fault. They just take the orders. but i was billed for 3 months for a tv that i didnt even have. Sarah was kind enough to take it apon herself to fill out all the necessary paperwork and called me back and kept me informed on all ocassions. Peach sucks but not all of the reps are bad

I order a plasma tv and a psp however the tv arrived and no-one home ups send the tv back like the next day. Peach direct then have the nerve to charge me 20% for re-stocking fee and 20% for the order returning. I have spoken to numerous people within the company and nobody can give a written statement in regard to such craziness. I am speaking to a lawyer on how to sue the hell out of them. These people are a bunch of rip-off artist.

I bought a HP Laptop from PeachDirect and have had no problems with anything. My computer arrived when they told me it would and I have had no problem with them about anything. It works great and everything arrived in one box with all my paperwork from Geo Money Bank. I pay my monthly bill online and have not been charged for any extra items. I guess I'm at least one happy customer. I am sorry that there are those who got ( taken advantage of ).

Thanks

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

I recently received a 2000 dollar credit limit from PeachDirect, I must say, I was pretty excited,Wow 2000 dollars credit!

I am a mother of 4 and I could never afford to buy a fancy computer cash up front! BUT for some reason, I accidentally logged on to this web site (thank goodness) and began reading all the complaints. I guess you could say I was saved from probably making a huge mistake. I am on a fixed income and cannot afford to be ripped off. I guess its better if I just save up for a computer I can trust.

Again, Thank You.

I ordered a 42" Panasonic Plasma TV from Peach Direct, back in November for my wifes Christmas present and I was told that I would receive it within two to three weeks. Mr. Kim the TV never came, I called and your customer service person stated that she had no clue about when I would receive my order. I explained to her that this was a present. I would have never ordered this if it would not make it in time for christmas. She said well you can cancel if you like. I told her well it doesn't make since for me to get it if it doesn't make it to me in time. She proceeded to cancel and then she said that I will be charge $700.00 for canceling. I told her that why am I being charge, and she stated because you canceled. I told her well I don't want to cancel if I am going to be charged, I need to know when the TV will be delivered. She told me well it is too late, you canceled now.

Mr Kim, that was the choice of your employee to cancel the order and not mine. I had to buy my wife another gift and they tried to deliver the TV in late February. I didn't accept it at that point because I had already given my wife a gift.

I have read the many problems and complaints that people have had with your organization. I have not signed any documents nor have I made any payments to this account. I have no plans to make any payments either. I would like to request that we have mediation on this issue to try to resolve it at the lowest possible level. Otherwise I will proceed with contacting the Attorney General and an attorney to seek the necessary legal advice.

I ordered 2 greatest hits cd's through peachdirect and about 2 months later I received them, no problems to talk about. But i will say if you order through these people watch what you order its all over priced and feeds on the people who don't have credit or good credit. I payed off my $42.00 which was overpriced and i have never used it again. If you watch what your doing it can be just a good credit builder. If not, you r screwed.

Complaint Rating: 0 % with 0 votes

My name is Erik and me and my wife ordered a Dvd player and a 32'' LCD tv from Peach Direct on 5/18 two weeks later i received my DVD player right on time, but not my TV... Almost a month later upon repeated attempts contacting "customer service" i was getting nowhere and also getting conflicting stories, so i went online and researched Peach D. and it brought me here. On this site and others i found an E-mail address for dkim@peachdirect so i contacted him, he explained everything to me beyond my expectations, and expedited my order as well as compensating me for my troubles... THANK YOU MR. KIM...

So here is a post from one satisfied customer of the legit company Peach Direct. So if your having problems contact dkim@peachdirect.com and im sure he will help you as he has more than helped me!

No one ever posts of the good experience they have because there is no need to, they are happy... I was having a bad experience and they more than fixed it, now im having a great experience!

I along with all the others had a bad experience with Peach direct. I ordered a bottle of perfume, after a month past, I called to check on my order. Peach direct said my order was pending due to approval from GE Money. I explained that I already had my credit card or how else would I have ordered. I called ge money and they gave me a number to give peach direct to call them. I called back to PD and they said they weren't authorized to do that. I called GE money again... And the guy was beyond rude told me to call using three way, I said my phone doesn't have that feature and after ten minutes of arguing he told me to go to a neighbor and use their phone! I tried one last time to PD and they finally took down the number. Two weeks have passed, I called today after finding this website and they said my order is pending shipment. I have canceled my order and my credit card. We shall see if I get a bill. In the meantime I am contacting the BBB. Good luck to all my fellow suckers!

Having had been on hold for 20 minutes or so-I googled Peach Direct which led me to dKim@peachdirect.com. They need to give that man a much deserved raise-as I had a return phone call within 7 minutes - He was not calling from India- he was able to cancel my order which I had to do for financial reasons and then he gave me GE Money Banks 800 number [protected]) to follow through with their end. I couldn't have been more pleased with his customer support-Everyone over at Peach Directs phone lines needs to sit down with that man and have a good talk-He gets the job done AND stands behind the company he is working for-what dedication! Seriously-after everything I have read here I was frightened at the order I had placed-this one individual took care of me within minutes-I hope it all goes through like we had spoke of -I have put my trust in him and have to wait it out now but I am feeling very positive.

I purchased a Playstation 3 from Peachdirect a few weeks ago, even after reading all of the online complaints.

I received it in less than 3 weeks, and I was not billed at all until after the item was shipped. The shipping price was a little high imo at $49, but it arrived in a timely manner and there are zero problems. I will pay the balance off during the promotional period so I will avoid any interest payments.

I made my first payment today online and it was very easy to do and will post to my account tomorrow.
I believe others here who said they had problems in the past, but I think there claims of being a fledgling company that was overwhelmed by orders to be true.

I also called customer service to inquire as to when to expect shipping since everything I read had me a bit nervous, and got someone on the phone quickly and was told that it would be shipped within three weeks of ordering, and that was true in my case.

There are better options and cheaper prices out there if you can afford it, but this worked for me. (the item I bought was $649, and I could have bought it for around $600+tax elsewhere so not a huge markup) I didn't want to tie up another credit card with this purchase or lay out all that cash at one time, and I know I can pay it off during the promotional period so this worked out well for me.

As a poor college student, I was almost suckered into accepting the pre-approved credit ($2,500), even after reading the fine print completely. I thought I could handle minimum payments, maybe a bit more at times, per month. I thought perhaps the APR rate was acceptable since I was thinking of buying a product in the $100-$200 range, and if I paid it off quickly enough, the interest accrued wouldn't be as much for a product in the $500 and higher range. But I remembered online advertising for a website that gives you free, high-end products such as HD, plasma TVs and LV bags to "test," but the company ends up never sending the products out. And there is almost no customer service, or if there is, the only replies the site gives out is that the order is pending.

Boy am I glad I decided to take precautions and to similarly check out customer reviews and experiences of Peachdirect. With that many people complaining about their "pending" orders or received but malfunctioning products, this company seems like a no-go. With this amount of people commenting, they can't all be lying.

And readers beware of "Regan" who posted above me-- I saw his same exact comment before about how "customer-friendly" and "wonderful" Peachdirect is. The first paragraph is an exact copy of a comment I saw on another site revealing how much of a high-interest grabbing fraud Peachdirect is (website found at http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2007/02/26/making-luxury-affordable-or-making-people-broke/). "Regan's" comment is probably contrived. He may work for the company and is trying to boost confidence in the company and improve its waning reputation. The amount of people who actually have positive experiences of the company seem few to none. Rip-off companies like this make me so frustrated. It's probably an understatement for the customers who actually bought into their tricks.

About a week after my wife and I ordered a 42" television from Peachdirect, I decided to check online and make sure that they were not involved in any suspicious dealings or ripoff tactics. Needless to say after finding this forum, I became quite worried. So, I took the advice given at the end of Chester Dodge's comments and e-mailed dkim@peachdirect.com with my concerns. Let me tell you, I was glad that I did. He gave me a phonecall soon after and was extremely helpful and perhaps the friendliest person I have dealt with in quite some time. He explained to me that the 100-plus complaints were a result of too many orders and too little supply during this last holiday season. He also stated that peachdirect is working to cut shipping times down to 3-5 business days rather than weeks, and that in the next 6-8-months customers will see a tracking number on their order status within a day or two of ordering.

He checked and was able to ensure that my television was leaving the warehouse and would arrive shortly. He then provided contact information for the air-freight delivery company (Pilot Air Freight), as well as a tracking number. I was able to track my package and see its exact whereabouts. He then provided me with his personal line at Peachdirect so that I could bypass the 800-number reps and deal directly with him. He was quite friendly and voiced that he would love for me to call him and let him know when the television arrived.

Peachdirect has a B rating on the Better Business Bureau website, which is considered Good, but had it not been for their oversight in supply vs. demand around the holidays, they would have an A rating. And because they have amended all problems, they probably will work their way back up to it.

In summation, I believe them to be a wonderful company, and I will definitely deal with them again. Their merchandise wasn't damaged, was in great condition, and it sure didn't take a month to get here (like some people are insisting it does). I look forward to dealing with them in the future. Sure you may pay some interest, but it's better than footing the entire bill right away.

I ordered a 42" Panasonic Plasma TV from Peach Direct. I emailed a Mr D. Kim expressing my concerns about the numerous complaints. He emailed me back immediately and then called me on the phone assuring me that my order would go smoothly. Well that is exactly what happened. He expedited my order quickly and I received the exact item I ordered 2 weeks from the time of ordering(order by phone!). It is a brand new Plasma TV that works flawlessly. It was shipped by Pilot Air. I was allowed to inspect the item before signing for it. Mr Kim's explanation for the numerous complaints was that they were overwhelmed with orders because of the promotion and being a infant company were understaffed at the time. At present He said Peach is expanding its operation with more professionally trained staff. Also the shipping times will be shorter per Mr. Kim. In closing I also want to say that I haven't received a bill from GE Money Bank yet. Their new policy is to bill you after shipping. This is just my opinion on this matter and is the truth of my personal experience with Peach Direct. D. Kim was a very nice man that was willing to help above and beyond. I suggest any customer contact him with any problem.

I am sorry to say that I was also a victim of Peach Direct's unbelievable bad service... I received the catalog in the mail sometime in the beginning of December...Great timing for Christmas time... I wanted to buy a Toshiba laptop and a Ipod. I bought the laptop after my quick approval of $1800 credit.. wow!.. The following day I purchased an ipod on the website.. a week passes orders are saying "still pending"... I call Peach Direct and they say please allow 2 to 3 weeks of delivery...third week comes "still pending"... I call Peach Direct and they say please allow 21 BUSINESS DAYS!... something they didn't tell me before.. Sometime around the end of December... after Christmas... I receive a bill from GE Money BANK... WHAT!.. How am I to pay a minimum payment of $10 by Jan. 21 when I didn't' even get anything yet... 21st day comes... still no products. Peach Direct claims laptop is not in stock and ipod has shipped... but yet it still says "still pending" and in the meantime I was to start paying my bill.. BULL... I immediately canceled the orders.. Too make a long story short... I had to constantly go back and forth with Peach Direct and GE Money Bank... filled out several dispute forms, still received bills that I was not going to pay, and just plain false information from Peach Direct... It was not until April when finally everything was resolved... I received a lot of headaches from this company because of either someones stupidity or plain greediness... I advise you to do research on a company before you do any business with them... because if something is too good to be true it usually isn't

I too ordered a deep fryer 4 weeks ago, hoping to get it by May 5 for a big dinner I'm hosting. Every now and then I check status and it keep saying "pending shipment". I called the company and they told me the same thing; "We can not check the status, it might have gone out already but there is no way of us to know till the shipping company let us know that it went out". Then I asked, can you give me the number to the shipping company so I can call myself, and their reply "we dont know which shipping company your order is coming out of, we have many."?

I also ordered a 42 inch Toshiba HDT. I was excited at first. Wow, all I have to pay is $51 a month. I know that with the finance charges I will be playing more than what the television is worth, but it's worth it. So I thought. That evening, after I placed the order, I decided to go on the internet and check the model I purchase. PeachDirect was charging $400 to $500 more than what the TV is selling for at the stores. Then they charge $200 for shipping - then the finance charges. I will be paying over $1,000 more. I'm better off going to Best Buy or Circuit City. I wasted no time and cancelled my order right away.

I'm calling today to check the status on my fryer. If Im not given a straight answer I will cancel my order and also my account.

I really know very little about peach direct but this I do know - they are offering a handbag line Lowe Valentini which is truly a gem. Very high quality and incredibly talented designer. If they have the bags they are near Louis Vuitton quality. My problem...? Lowe Valentini was the playground for some very sophisticated con artists that burned the actual designer and a lot of good people. These bags are either being sold by criminals or were somehow sold to this company in a back handed fashion as I can assure you the designer is receiving no proceeds for the sale even though he personally absorbed the debt to produce all of the bags.

Buyer be very suspicious as I can assure you that I am very close to this brand and something is quite wrong

Can one call GE Money Bank right now and cancel the card/account, then call Peach Direct and tell them to deliver the product to someone else? After all the negative press I am really feeling like a jack@$$ for not doing better research before getting involved but you would think that something with "GE" attached to it is legitimate.

I feel stupid now.
