PC Anti Spyware 2010 / Product did not work

1 Thornton, PA, United States Review updated:

I purchased on line PC Anti spyware 2010 in for amount of $91.45 (US dollars). Installed product and my computer (Dell, Wondows XP) experienced excessive ad pop-ups, slowed to a crawl and shut it down. I was literally unable to restart. Took computer to Best Buy Geeg Squad. They had difficuly starting it and after an hour of diagnosis said the problem was adware, spywear and monitering viruses. This product which was advertised to eliminate spyware; it did not! And, I believe it installed the adware because I had no problem with adware prior to installing this product. I was unable to restore my system and had to buy a new computer. I've instructed VISA not to pay this charge and list it as "disputed". Please credit my account. It was charged 8-19-09 in the amount of $91.45 with a transaction fee of $2.74. The VISA transaction codes are 24057579232933555162723 and 24057579232933555162723.

As documentation, following in one of many reports filed on the internet; unfortunately I did this search after having problems (never again).
"PC Antispyware 2010 is a phony antivirus software, known as a rogue antispyware, or a complete scam. PC Antispyware 2010 is designed to frighten PC users into thinking their computer is infected with spyware with hopes that they will fall for the scam and purhase the full version of the software, which is completely useless PC Antispyware 2010 usually infects computers via misleading advertisments that claim to be online virus scanners and with torjans. Once PC Antispyware 2010 is installed on a computer it will preform system security scans and report malware infections that are fake. PC Antispyware 2010 will also display annoying pop up warnings and system alerts stating that the computer is infected, these warnings are fake as well. These false warnings and system scan results are used to make users think their computer is infected with malware and they need to buy the software to remove the infections. Do not fall for the PC Antispyware 2010 scam, do not buy this corrupt software."

Please respond by return e-mail promptly. Thank you.

WARNING! PC Antispyware is an incredible scam! The trojans that are embedded into this dubious program are the least of your worries. If you purchased this item, cancel whatever credit you used immediately and let all the Credit Bureaus know that you want a fraud alert out sent out. Additionally, if you did have money stolen via Western Union, be sure to filea complaint with the FTC, your local police department and at www.econsumer.gov. After about a month, they WILL steal money out of your account. The purchase form you filled out when you bought this product is not authentic.

By the way, I would recommend that you reformat your computer. If enough people file complaints at www.econsumer.gov the authorities WILL take action on this illegal riffraff going on. So help me God if I ever met the people behind this they will be sorry they ever put on this Earth.
