In February, 2009, we had a house fire in Monroe, Iowa. IMT insurance company recommended Paul Davis Restoration (PDR) to clean up and rebuild our home. After a few months of dissatifaction with the quality of their work, an agreement was reached that terminated the services of PDR. We then began the process of trying to obtain the remaining insurance money that PDR was paid up front to complete the entire project. 20% of the insurance settlement was considered the overhead costs and profit for PDR. Although PDR only completed a little over half of the total project line items, they kept all of the original overhead costs and profit payments. We think this is unfair and an example of insurance fraud.

our house was involved in a house fire, our insurance company state farm paid them, there quality of work i would never recommend to anyone, cupboards were done cheap as hell, trim keeps falling off, plumbing in the bathroom shower is messed up. our new floors are coming up in all rooms, fans still dont work right.we were overcharged for extra work, they claim they threw in some freebees in my opoinion we were better off without them, they rebuilt our home the cheapest way they could and walked away with a nice check, most of the workers they hire dont speak english so it was hard to communucate with them and they were not supervised while the work was being done, so before u hire these jerks look them up im sure im not alone in this mess, now its off to the better business bureau and then court

Seems to be apattern with PDR franchises. We have had simialr issues with the PDR franchise in Tampa, East. They were the "preferred service provider" recommended by our insurance company adjuster. They overcharged for numerous items in the estimate like $15, 595 for a $7, 500 lanai and 5900 sf of roofing for 5300 sf roof. This was all approved by the insurance adjuster that recommended them. Not to mentio the fat that the quality of work was poor. When we refused to make the final paymnt they sued us and since then it has been discovered their are over 100 code violations in the house. Some of these include cut trusses, improperly installed trusees, understrength hrricane straps, and wrong ceiling board just to name a few. It would be great if there was some way to get all the PDR victims together and compare notes. I think based on the extent and similarity of the issues PDR Corporation may be teaching hese techniques at their training center.

I dont think it is isurance fraud but it could be company fraud. If you look at this and other site you will see a pattern of PDR franchises doing the same thing to customers. In our case they overcharged and overmeasured numerous item. Their poor workmanship is demonstrated in the fact that my house has numerous code violations after their completion. Poor workmanship, overcharging, and bullying customers seems to be a systemic problem.
