Jan.26, 2016 we purchased a kitten advertised as "TiCA registered ragdoll" from PARISAVAN Ragdolls breeder Wendy Hamel. We signed a contract that the female kitten could not be spayed until 7 months of age, and registration would be provided "upon spaying". We got verbal assurance the kitten came from 'championship lines' and the parent were "genetically cleared" of any diseases. No documentation was available to show us since Ms. Hamel had it all packed ready for moving. We had to take a photo of the contract since her printer was also packed away. She was to send the contract by mail ASAP.
The kitten's date of birth indicated was Nov. 16, 2016. We noticed that next day and I called Ms. Hamel asking her to correct it before sending us the contract. Also, she asked us to choose a middle name for the kitten to be used for registration. this was also provided to Ms. Hamel by phone, as well as in text messages. We were told the kitten had 1 set of vaccination and one deworming. No date of vaccination/deworming was given though it was requested several times. Each times Ms. Hamel claimed it was on the bottom of the contract page in the photo I took on Jan. 26/2016. She indicated the booster and 2nd deworming should be done ASAP, and was done by our veterinarian on Jan.27, 2016. The contract never arrived, and Ms. Hamel claimed it must have been lost by the post office. She 'mailed it again', yet once again the contract did not arrive. She was to bring it during an arranged visit. No show day 1 and when contacted "was sick". She arranged next day visit, but again did not come due to not feeling well. When I asked her to just take a photo of the 'corrected' contract (which was to have a correct date of birth, and the kitten's middle name), she texted me 2 pages that still had a wrong birthdate, no middle name, but included dates for TWO sets of vaccinations at the bottom of page 1. When contacted to share a concern that the kitten now had 3 sets of vaccinations (2 from her, and one from our vet), she said "oh, no, she only had one set. The other set was given all the other kittens from her litter, but not her, because I was going to keep her" (odd. Our kitten was advertised for sale the same time as her litter mates).
We had our kitten spayed on June 20th (at 7 months 3 days) and the breeder acknowledged receiving the veterinary certificate, but would not provide the registration. After several requests for it, she actually stopped responding and blocked our phone/texts.
On October 3rd we received email from TICA executive office stating PARISAVANRAGS is registered to Wendy Hamel, but no kittens from a litter born Nov. 16, 2015 were ever registered. We contacted Ms. Hamel through her new ads on kijiji, but no response was received, though the ads disappeared.
On October 13 our kitten's chest and stomach seemed to be moving a lot while she was breathing, and by October 14th morning we ended up at the vets and had X-rays. She had fluid in her chest cavity and vet removed 130 ml of fluid and sent us to Emergency veterinary hospital for more tests . After 7 hours and several tests (echo cardiogram, ultrasound, analysis of the chest fluid), she was diagnosed with 'severe congenital hypertrophic cardiomyopathy' and was give 45 days to live, provided she had repeat chest taps and was on 3 kinds of medication. We had no choice but to let her go to her final sleep in our arms that night.
We again contacted Ms. Hamel through a kijiji ad she had, and also left a note on her new Facebook page advertising her ragdolls. She obviously received the communication, because she withdrew her kijiji ad and deleted her Facebook page. Again, she never contacted us, although the kitten was not even 11 months old when she had to be euthanized.
This breeder is utterly unethical, and has not followed through on anything she promised, and does not seem to take responsibility when anything goes wrong (other than BLOCK every attempt you make to contact her).

I'd love to contact you. I have tried to get her new address so I can sue her through the small claims courts (I have claims of at least 2, 700.00). I can't have her served if I don't know where she lives (she was in Edmonton when I bought the kitten but was in the process of moving).

Wow, regarding the first kitten who died of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy a day before she reached 11 months of age, I invite anyone who has read Wendy Hamel’s lies to contact me. I still have all the correspondence trying to reach the breeder to even get straight answers about the vaccinations that the kittens had prior to being purchased by us, as well as requests for registration that was to be provided after the 7 months spaying. Frankly I would like to hear from any clients who bought one of the kittens born on November 15/16 2015 to see if any of them ended up being registered through TICA. According to TICA records, none were prior to our kitten’s death. I tried to reach to this woman through kijiji when she was advertising new kittens but she removed the ad instead. I tried through FB when she created her page for her breeding information, and again she didn’t reply, but removed her page instead. I have copies of my conversation with her when she was to deliver final papers. She never showed up. The final papers still had the same errors she promised to correct (including incorrect year of birth) I also have all photos of this kitten happily growing and being spoiled by us while we worked full time with no opportunity for “three months cruise”. However, we did take a 2 week trip while we had this sweet kitten while she stayed in a very nice, all cat kennel “Calico Hills Kitty Lodge”. I look forward to seeing any evidence of the “horrible treatment” she claims we provided while we share all our supported evidence.

Re: Parisavan Radolls Complaints made Public.

In response to the two complaints, I feel it is important both sides of each story, be given an opportunity to be read or heard. Firstly, it’s been stated the owner of Parisavan Ragdolls is non reachable. Both complaints, have all phone numbers, addresses and anytime can be reached in person.
Nobody at Parisavan has ever declined personal information to anyone in the nature of buying a kitten, discussing adoption, or any concerns related to complaints or otherwise. On the record to verify the comments, the could not be found.
Regarding, both these complaints. By coming forward, allows both sides to be told. Due to legal reasons threatened, Parisavan Ragdolls choose to remain not giving there statement, due to legal repercussions going viral.

Telling the truth here will allow all the people to decide for themselves what the wish to believe, or not to believe. As the owner of Parisavan Ragdolls, here is what transpired on the complaint of the kitten passing away. This is the second side of the truth, failed to be mentioned in the customers story about killing a beautiful ragdoll kitten, that was purchased from Parisavan Ragdolls.

In Regards to complaint about the kitten dying? Those who are reading this most likely should know? I have been a ragdoll Breeder 7 years. I have been building my second business the past 3 years, so have not been breeding Ragdolls. I’ve had the opportunity to step back and enjoy just living and loving my beautiful Ragdolls, along with my family, grandchildren and I.
I have had the pleasure of raising these amazing felines, studying them, currently writing a book, and loving Ragdolls for over 23 year of my life. Along with my children and grandchildren, friends and numerous family members, who also have grown a special love for these beautiful creatures, that were proudly created.

I would to move right to the History on Parents of the kitten, ( who was euthanized ), at the discretion of what we call a very cruel and bad customer we ended up selling a kitten to. The customer DID NOT do what’s best in the interest of the month old kitten, she purchased from Parisavan Ragdolls. She was selfish and very cruel as your about to read in our story, of what happened to our sweet little female ragdoll, she took from our trusting hands.

REGARDING THE PARENTS...
Both Parents of this kitten went through extensive testing, before ever becoming a breeding pair of ragdolls. The bloodlines of the off springs, come from two sets of bloodline from each parent, they are not ever to be related.
These tests are done by only Vetrinarian’s and heart specialists. They are very expensive, lengthy, and very scientifically bullet proof to be accurate. These tests include, Bloodwork, physical testing, ultra sound, heart testing, lungs, kidney, and DNA testing.
The results can be very painful to a Breeder that has been lied to when they purchase a radoll from anywhere in the world. A typical breeding female, good bloodlines & pedigrees start at $5000 and can go as high as $10, 000 by time everything is paid for. It is something a good Breeder takes very seriously, when considering being a ragdoll Breeder, or any Breeder. Whether dog or cat? Pure line, long champion history, or World Champions Bloodlines, your commitment and cost starting up, is very serious and expensive. These tests are imperative especially in instances like this, that brought us to this complaint, many folks have read about. Every breeding ragdoll, must be healthy, and carrying no bad heart defects, kidneys or any type of genetic disease carried in there bloodline, to become a Breeder. Otherwise, your offspring are born to many defects and could possibly die. Unlike this kitten which was euthanized.
Both the customers (little girl’s parents) had been DNA tested, undergone series of blood test, urine tested, ultra sound, physically tested, heart, lungs, kidneys, and were over seen as a second option by an out of office heart specialists for animals. These tests are all sent for a second opinion always, and rightfully so, with the high costs associated with having them done. The specialist’s send there reports bad to your veterinarian with confidence in all there findings. In return, the Breeder is provided a full disclosure on both parents tests, and findings.

Both experts have been in there professions for over 35 years. The tests performed on both parents prior to ever being breeding parents, at the age of two years old, came back stating...the results on both were ((“Above Remarkable”)). The evidence of these results is public knowledge to all the customers purchasing the pairs little babies. This buyer didn’t care ever to ask for a copy and when suggested, she refused. She said she was confident coming in our home viewing the kittens directly, and seeing the home life they had. They all have an excellent life in our home, as our family members.
Again quoted by the cardiologist specialist involved, and the Vetrinarian who conducted all the examinations for heart, kidneys and liver bloodwork, the results were “ABOVE REMARKABLE”. The ultra sound and physical examinations were also “Above Remarkable” findings.
Those results are for review of anyone with any intentions of purchasing a rag doll from Parisavan Ragdolls for future reference. Every customer receives a copy prior to purchasing any kitten from Parisavan Ragdolls.
The customer making the complaint on this feed, fails to tell the whole truth of “why” her sweet little girl not only contracted a very bad illness, but also she had got her euthanized. After the kitten was euthanized, she contacted the us the (Breeder). She was angry and began yelling we sold her a sick kitten 11 months old. Yelling stating we are to pay all her vet bill, because we sold her a sick kitten. A sick kitten who 4 times visited the vet after it was sold, said to be a beautiful, healthy, happy, playful kitten.

Upon hearing the news the only one of The kittens litter mates was now dead, came as a huge shock and sadness to all my family. She had been one kitten out of a littermate of 7 kittens, told to us was euthanized. Shocked and confused, we asked why? What happened? Instantly what came to my mind, was that poor kitten, she mentioned two days after purchasing the kitten, how it was going to a animal shelter while her and her husband were going on a cruise. A cruise for 3 months! A cruise that I pleaded not to do that to her kitten! Find a family member to take it! How we would take it back? She refused all offers to help assist keeping her kitten safe.
I remember her call the day we were to hear in our 5th year how we just lost our first baby. You don’t forget. It was heart wrenching. Why you ask over and over? When she was asked, both our veterinarian’s could make a phone call between each other to discuss what happened? She refused. As it was a great loss to the kittens Vetrinarian getting the news also. When we asked her, if she would consent to the test results causing the kitten to become ill, be sent via fax or email to our veterinarian, she refused! When she was asked, why the kitten was euthanized without ever contacting the Breeder prior to have it euthanized, or ever being sick? She stated it was her kitten, and her right, to put her kitten down. When she was asked why, she would euthanize a treatable illness or do such a thing as have her vet euthanize the kitten? She said she wasn’t going to let it suffer. When asked why she cremated the kitten so fast, not consulted us when noticed the kitten was ill? Or as per a signed contract to advise the Breeder if the kitten became ill? She hung up.
The kitten was 11 months of age when it was euthanized by the customer. The kitten went into her care, at 3 months of age. She purchased the kitten just 2-3 weeks prior to going on a 3 month holiday on a cruise ship. When asked what happens to the kitten while going on her cruise? The customer stated it’s going to be placed in a daycare animal facility full time. She was immediately advised by the owner, against doing such a thing to a 3 month old rag doll. When explained why this was so serious, not advisable? She stated it was a reputable daycare, she’d used it before, and was doing just that again. When I explained how supseptible a kitten is to an Air Bourne disease, not having a built up immunity, she stated she trusted the facility it was going to again. Refusing to listen or reason, whatsoever. Refused knowing and explained to how easy they could pick up feline Luekemia. So, to justify her actions, she contacted us to share, she had taken the the kitten to be immunized a third time. Totally out of this world...insane. Now she choose to harm the kitten to satisfy her behaviour by immunizing another time. Knowing, every kitten before it leaves the Breeder at 3 months of age is already immunized for the first year of there life. Here we were hearing out of her mouth, she just got a checkup for the kitten, and immunized for the 3rd time.
Already knowing the kitten had be immunized twice, and de-wormed prior to going into the customers care. Knowing a Breeder only has to provide one needle to there kittens before leaving, but our kittens were special, we cared they would be safe for one year of getting another poke. It take one year for there tiny immune systems to build antibodies to fight diseases. Air Bourne Diseases, through hand touching or transferred from feet/shoes. This customer believed she was a doctor. Nothing any Breeder could say to her was correct. She made her own rules, for her animals. Even if, it put there lives at risk. Such as she did.
She stated it was her cruise she had planned for a year, and she would not miss it. As stated we offered to keep the kitten, even once she heard the kitten was going into a very compromising in health, risky situation. She refused.

This customer is a very spiteful human being. The rag doll kittens are raised in a free roaming home. There are no cages, no abuse, they can roam and play freely with there mom, and sibblings, while we raise them to 3 months of age. This is the home they started there little lives in, and to us it should be safe, loving and gentle. This kitten had 6 siblings, they’d play for hours and hours everyday. They grew up around children, dogs, many family members living and caring for them, on a regular bases. Our home being a busy home, with lots of family and other pets. She knew that, and saw that the evening she picked her kitten up. She had 3-4 conversations prior via phone before being chosen to own one of our baby Ragdolls. She was told “No outsiders” are even able to touch or visit a kitten, until they have had two sets of needles and dewormed. Except immediate family members. This is for the purpose of not exposing the young kittens to any Air Bourne diseases transmitted by hands or feet...ever! The kittens are the most vulnerable to any disease so young.
When the customer took the kitten home, she was aware to take her kitten to the vet to be examined. The kittens of Parisavan Ragdolls are warrantied for any genetic diseases up to 3 months, but because they don’t leave us, according to TiCA standards, we agree to 6 months. The customer is given a clean bill of health along with the immunization records upon purchasing. When the buyer took her kitten to the vet, she contacted us stating the vet said, the kitten was in excellent healt. She was thrilled, and expressed she wanted to have the kitten be seen right away. That was to establish a record for her kitten. We completedly understood and we’re very happy she did just that. Her news was excellent news about the little girl, and we were happy to hear that as well.
She went on about how her vet stating the kitten was a very happy and a healthy little girl. The relationship between the buyer and us about the kitten lasted about 6-7days. She would send pictures at first, but everything always seemed just fine. Until one day, she sent pictures of our little girl behind bars. It just so happened that same day of seeing what appeared to be a little kitten in a cage, was the exact same day the customer called our home. After small talk again about them going on her cruise, I asked, how they/she was enjoying her new baby kitten? She proceeded to share, her kitten had been caged the whole time it was with her, but doing well. When asked “why” she said she caged her to slowly introduce her to there other adult ragdoll. She said, it was her way, her process, to introduce the two cats, but it had to be through the cage bars. This way, so nobody could get hurt.
I repeated myself with saying you have another ragdoll? She said yes. She was sternly, does the kitten live in the cage full time? She said yes, we put her there from the first night they brought her home. Admittedly, after all we heard objective from the buyer at this point, that had to be the straw which broke the patience, in me. Hearing this made my blood boil! Instantaneously I got very angry. I said, out loud that is absolutely animal abuse to that baby kitten. How dare you put her through such stress. You kennel a dog, not a baby kitten I said. Especially a kitten. Ragdolls show stress through there eyes immediately of a bad situation. My mind just saw this poor helpless kitten, so stressed not understanding or knowing why it had to be caged. Why or how could anyone take such a precious sweet kitten and do that just days into having it? I asked her, how could you do that to her? She had not grownup being caged, with 6 other siblings, a 5 other female adult Ragdolls, or two dogs? Our children played with these kittens hours a days, they knew no boundaries these kittens. . Ragdolls are the most loving felines anyone could ever own. A kitten gets cuddles, held and loved. Not her stuck in a cage to be afraid, scared of another ragdoll. Which is never possible. There temperament loves everything, and everyone. Including her adult cat, had she tried to trust what she was told or even listened to all those conversations that we had, before she was ever considered to own one of our precious kittens. How could she do such a thing we thought. I pleaded with her to release her immediately. She refused. She had never seen the likes of a cage and, if she had another me Ragdoll (as indicated) that ragdoll would of sensed immediately there was a baby like him in the room. He would of made shy, but never dream of hurting her, as she stated. He would of loved her to death. Ragdolls love everything, and everybody, all ragdoll lovers would gladly share that with all you readers. Her conduct was barbarically unjustified to that sweet girl. It state in the contract, any abuse of any ragdoll, they are immediately to be returned to the Breeder. This customer was mean, rude, self centred and very cruel. As an advocate that works with teams to stop animal abuse, she is an animal abuser, ! To many we have shared our story with, she is undoubtedly responsible for killing that sweet little kitten selfishly! Along with the opinion of the cardiologist and veterinarian who knew the 6 litter mates, making her number 7, this animal was abused from the day it went into this customers care. Until that kitten was 11 months of age and euthanized we ever heard one word from this buyer after she was told caging that kitten was abusive.
We contacted all the owners of the 6 other living litter mate kittens. Everyone of them from her litter are in excellent health. To date there have been no deaths ever, of any kitten born to Parisavan Ragdolls. That being a total of 30 babies ever produced, and gone to loving homes. That sweet little girl did not ever need to be euthanized. If her heart was failing our vet said, and there was no medication? Then the probabilities would have been much greater. She put that kitten in a situation of a 3 month animal facility, to chance catching anything, in that frail little body of hers. Why? We ask the same question so many times. To have exposed her to all the air Bourne diseases while she took her holiday on the ship cruise? Manifesting the illness for god only knows? I’d say months! As would the experts, finally by her 11th month, her body couldn’t take anymore. Then she decides the end result is euthanized her quick, break her contract, cremate her fast, and refuse the Breeder any medical information at all. Then refuse requests for the Vetrinarian’s to speak to one another, as though she had much to hide. It is not the responsibility of a Breeder to stop any customer to taking there kitten anyplace they deem fit. However, it’s the breeders responsibility, to share as much information on the kitten as they can on the safety of there lives there first year. Something we are highly regarded for. Caring for the mom 3 months pregnant, 3 months when the babies are born, to when they leave us, we do not take lightly. Especially when one of our own dies, due to neglect of the new owner.
For those who may not know, but many will attest to. Every single customer spends a minimum of two hours during the adoption phase with us. We go over the breeders wishes of do’s and don’t the first year of there kittens life. We will spent 6 hours if it means we know our customers are leaving confident with the facts. There first year is very important to us. We get pictures, emails daily from past customers sharing there Ragdolls with us. We have endless repeat customers, customer referrals, and currently have our Ragdolls in 7 provinces throughout Canada, Yellowknife, Yukon and NWT.
In the case of this customer visiting my home to pick up a kitten, she was greeted by 3 guests of mine visiting us that evening. She fails to admit the witnesses heard and witnessed the conversations. In fact, after she left my home That evening, with the kitten, my guests clearly stated, this woman was very off and strange. They addressed her as suspicious. Her husband sat very quietly as she continued to interrupt the conversation about the care and health of the kitten. You could see her husband wanted to get going, but she continued to interrupt so much, it was hard to share all the information about the kittens first year. We would keep going back to the topic so many times with her.
She has Threatened legal action repeatedly. She has been advised to go ahead, as stated by our legal attorneys to share that with her.

Parisavan Ragdolls sold her a very healthy kitten, from two very healthy tested parents. Documentation supports our belief, that she killed her kitten, by exposure to sicknesses within her poor choices of where she left her kitten. She stressed that beautiful kitten out for the first two weeks caged, following placed it in a facility for 3 months (as she indicated) was going to in front of 3 witnesses including her husband, myself and her. We are prepared to now speak of what the truth is, because her threats of court action has never surfaced. We felt staying quite, through local media was best if it was going to court. We still are prepared to challenge this in court with our experts, should she wish to. We have no shame or regrets how we raise our Ragdolls. Our home is a very loving home to all our sweet Ragdolls.
To date, in 7 years, we are still proud to share, her kitten is the only one who has ever passed due to an unknown disease it contracted.
To date, we have never been contacted by any customer over a loss of life of one of our Ragdolls. We’re very proud to share that with you all.
We will always remain proud of bloodlines, trust our Vetrinarian running exclusive testing on all our males and female Ragdolls to ever be parents. We have placed our trust in science, and our experienced experts to be able to come on here and share what we have in our response to these false lies about who we are or the owner.
We still, and always, will pride ourselves in producing beautiful Ragdolls from our Champion bloodlines. We refuse to let this person make us feel like she can bully, threaten and intimidate us, for nothing more than from day one a financial gain.
All because she felt her way was best. To neglect the fact, all the signs were clearly and then hide the evidence. Evidence we still would welcome the opportunity to see, if that’s not destroyed either. . Thank you everyone for taking the time to read the other side of these allegations towards us, as loving breeders of ragdoll kittens.
Please make your own conclusion on this, using your best judgement.
The other complaint?

Is of a gentlemen and his girlfriend who purchased a kitten years ago. He was found guilty of animal abuse and common law abuse. The RCMP and another witness came forward asking for our services to apprehend our ragdoll immediately. The ragdoll has suffered burns, Bruises, and surgery for breaks caused by abuse of this man’s own hands. This was clearly stated by witnesses, that he he would throw the ragdoll against the wall in anger rages. His spouse re-read the contract between him, and Parisavan Ragdolls indicating, if there is animal abuse involved, first right of refusal goes to the breeder. She stated he was sent to jail, and she provided proof along with the RCMP. He feels he should get the ragdoll back to abuse more.
The contract states an animal of Parisavan Ragdolls that is being abuse become no longer the legal rights of the buyers.
The customer’s ex girlfriend asked that the cat be returned because it was badly burnt, and thrown against walls. We were happy to see him come back to us. He was adopted by a lovely family within days of returning. This was all verified. This man is very violent and threatening who has written this. Due to his threats, he is unable to contact us.
Thank you.

She runs a terrible business, I purchased a cat from her back in 2016 and after splitting up with my spouse and going to retrieve the cat a week later and finding out it was sold I contacted her. She hesitated to respond, and later told me she had participated in rehoming the cat. The contract of which I have the original along with vet bills clearly state my name. No attempt was made to contact me at all and she claims the original contract no longer exists.

I'm pursuing this through the courts but I will tell you she does not ethically run her business other then to make money.
