This is the second package of Dynagrip pens that I have purchased that are defective. You can see the pen is full of ink but it won't come out as you write.

Used to be.a fine product - "Newell" purchased - these "pens" are GARBAGE now!

Same problem as everyone on this list - pens don't write. Not a single one! And getting substitutes or getting your money back is harder than doing the same if you want to return an auto! What a creepy and disgusting trash-selling "company." Never buy this "Paper-Mate" junk!

Contacted the company to give feedback and got the same response about a refund. I don't want a refund. I'd like you to improve your product...that would benefit all of us as well as papermate. Going back and forth now with...an Amy...she's kinda a jerk. She stated my pens are old and/or dried up...yeah...actually they are exactly 9 months old, but we're still in package...none of them wrote at all when I opened the package. Maybe they should start including an expiration date. Haha

I bought a pack of papermate ballpoint pens (black ink) in a pack of 10 for 99 cents. The packaging says "Guaranteed to write every time" and "Everyday smooth writing."
Well, not one of the wrote even the first time. I tried every pen in the pack, not ONE of them had a drop of ink come out. This is not the first time this has happened with these products. Like someone said above, it's not even worth the hassle of returning them.

I used to love my Bic pens but they are outright awful and all the pens in the package don't work!

Shame on Papermate for stealing peoples' money!

Papermate Eagle pens does not include their phone number or email on their packaging.

On their packaging, they guarantee the pens write every time. Well, most of the time they DO NOT WRITE. And I tried several from the pack.

So I tried phoning ShopRite a few times to complain & they said I need to contact Papermate.
ShopRite's manager finally provided Papermate's CORRECT email address which they don't deign to provide online, and assured me they "make good" on their products.

Turned out NOT to be so!

After weeks of back & forth, what with PaperMate's incorrect online email, and then trying to get help from ShopRite, and then waiting until FINALLY Papermate responded, here's what they sent back:

I bought my sister a pack of 2 papermate pens, and neither worked! I was shocked, especially considering I could have got cheaper ones for the same quality. I bought them from Ryman's at a discounted price but they had obviously discounted them to seem good but they must have known that over time pens dry out if not used and i'm guessing the ones I had bought had been there for ages.

I have had the same problem. I have been using the papermate blue biro pens for years, but the last few packs I have bought have started off fine, then after a few uses, just refuse to work. I can see that there is a lot of ink left in the pen, but it just completely dries up. This has happened to every pen in the pack.

I, too, have used the erasable pen by Paper Mate for several years to do Sudoku puzzles. The original pen with the blue eraser worked just fine. However, when I went last month to purchase more at Staples in London, Ontario, the only ones they had were the new variety with the white eraser. This is an unacceptable replacement - smudges big time! If you cannot return to the blue eraser for this paper mate product, I will looking for an alternate source/product. I returned to Staples to find something that would work and they did not have a replacement product. Obviously, I'm not your only unhappy customer re this particular produce. Mary Kay Butler

I use to buy paper-mate Erasermate and I loved them, but now they have a new one out with a white eraser on it. The pen and eraser both smudge and makes the paper all black. I bought 3 packs with 5 or 6 ink pens in it and one pen worked. They need to bring back the old ones with the black eraser and they need to pay back the money we lost because most of the ink pens didn't work.Test the pens before they sale them.

Same problem. Have old pens of the exact same type that were excellent, bought the same type and these ones worked for about a week. All of them just got lighter and lighter and then nothing. Very disappointed but thought it might have been the pack. Went and bought the inkjoy range. After a week, none of them work.

Similarly, I have purchased 2 packages of Paper Mate Flexgrip Ultra ballpoint pens, which, here in the UK, cost twice as much as your basic Bic ballpoint. At best, I get about halfway through, after a couple weeks usage each, and the rest of the ink refuses to come out. I have even taken to suspending the pens vertically for weeks to try encouraging the ink to flow. Nothing. I have gone back to Bic. I would not recommend buying Paper Mate pens.
