We returned a postage paid response card for a FREE sample of "Cooling Relief Patch" late July 2007. The product claimed to have recommendations from several doctors. In August, we received a "Welcome Pack" which included the free sample along with a 2-oz tue of PainVanish pain relieving cream at the special introductory price of $14.99 + S/H $4.94 =$19.94 amount due. I took the entire package up to the post office since future deliveries were begin in approximately 4 weeks. They recommended that we contact the company for an explanation. The toll-free [protected] is simply an automated answering machine with return instructions to Pain Vanish Returns, PO Box 34369, Lancaster, SC 29722. We were never able to get a live person on the phone. On September 1, we returned the entire package through the USPS Return Receipt for Merchandise requiring a return receipt card. According to our local post office, the package was presented to the Lancaster, SC post office no later than 9/5/07. To date, we have never received our return signature card acknowledging their receipt of this package. When we called that post office at [protected], we were told Pain Vanish is part of Silkies, Division of US Textiles. All the return packages are dumped into bins for the company. The return packages requiring signature receipts are separated for a company representative. The Lancaster SC post office is supposed to call us back the first part of the week. Apparently our article number is so old that it has been archived. However, we have received past due reminder notices, collection letters and now a threat of lawsuit. This is a scam that we hope no one else has to suffer through. We have turn our plight over to the US Postal Inspection Services for investigation.

I was offered a free sample, now I am receiving bill for $19.95. I did not order product from this company! They are sneaky and are a company who looks for a way to scam the public.

I requested a free sample of Pain Vanish to try the product. I got the sample and then they sent a 2 oz. tube witch I never asked for. Now I am being billed for $19.94 for a 2 oz. tube that they sent that I never requested.

I am being billed $19.94 for some kind of pain vanish cream. I did not order it... I did not receive it. Cannot talk to a person at customer service number. Invoices are getting more intense... stating "Is There a Problem?"

We never ordered this product, and they send us a bill and there is no way to talk to them over the phone, because it is all automated. What a rip off!

I ordered a "free sample" of this product. I received it, but did not open it, because I was not having any pain at the time. Two weeks later, I get a package with more of the product in it and a bill for $19.94. I tried to contact the company by phone and could not get a human. I complained to BBB about it. I also noticed on the company's literature that they advertise themselves as being a member of the Direct Marketing Association, so I complained to DMA. I got an e-mail this morning from DMA saying that HCI Direct is not a member of their organization and suggesting that I contact the BBB. These people are total scammers!

Never ordered painvanish, but recieved a 2 oz. tube with an invoice for $19.94. I have never even heard of this product. I will not pay for something I did not order nor will I go to the expense of mailing the item back. This seems to be a common practice of this company.

Received a small free sample, did not like it, never ordered anything else.
Received an invoice for $19.94 and account #[protected]-2.
This is a real scam, called them to talk and complain - only automated options available.
Submitted complaint on their web site - no answer.
They should be prosecuted and punished for their annoying and sneaky practices!
No way I am going to pay for nothing!
Very angry!

I have requested a postage paid label to return the product that I did not request. I have not received it, nor have I been able to fine an address to return the product as you cannot return packages to a PO Box. If this is a company that is trying to get started they must provide customer service. As of now I can not find anything that can be considered "Customer Service."

Not only did I did not order this "Free" sample, they have now, (after I refused to pay the $19.94 charges)after 2 years, turned it over to a collection agency. I have called this col. agency to dispute this bill, but lo and behold I have been disconnected twice. Imagine that. I have called the Federal Trade Commission and the Oklahoma Consumer Credit Department. My next step is to send a certified letter to the coll. agency and the United States Postal Service. Wouldn't this be considered mail fraud? Can you tell I AM REALLY MAD!

total complete rip-off! The amount sent for free trial is like a free sample you'd find on any store counter. The remaining small amount was returned to them as requested & a cancellation of any future automatic shipments. That was money down the drain! There was no free 30-day trial!

I too am very dissappointed with this product Pain Vanish. I did not find it to work at all. I also feel that this trick of a free sample
is an entrapment to continue to purchase the product. I do not want it, so now I have to pay shipping to return something that I didn't want in the first place. This makes me very unhappy so, I don't have good things to say about this company.

I just find out today 2 charges of 19.95 in less than 15 days from my checking account for this Goverment Grant subscription, the fake check that went to my account has a telephone number wich is a recorder sending you to the web site www.consumerbill.com to chat with an agent, that is telling you that you have to go to another web site to get the form and then fax it back to cancel this mess, and to ferund your money will take 30 to 40 days.
This came from a third party program from A PAYDAY LOAN site, so when you agreed to take the money from the payday loan ALSO you agreed to take the membership for MEDLINK SUBCRIPTION AND GOVERMNET GRANT PROGRAM for 19.95 a mo. ea.

When I sent in the card, I thought I was sending it for some samples to try your product. I did not want to buy it until I tried it. Nor have I seen that there was anything on it where I would be sent your product. I can buy 16 ounces of Enternet Thermal Linament for $16.00, which is a great product. Yours is ok but very expensive, 2 ounces for $14.99 plus 4.95 postage. The reason I am writing is I need a postage-paid label from the customer service department to send this back. Please take me off of your mailing list. Thank you for your cooperation.

I was also scammed by Pain Vanish. This was just supposed to be a free sample. Then after they sent it, I find it was not as had been advertised. I just wanted to try the free sample and write my report on it, like they said I could do. They have convinced me there is never a "free" sample. Everything has its price and I have learned my lesson.

Have to admit this is one of the slickest scams i, ve seen in a long time.. why does the company keep billing me for a so called free sample? Tried phoning, and all you get is the phone tag.. Run around.. It, s a damn shame that some company has the gall to out hustle a few old folks.. Who are just looking for a little pain relief.. And then find out that they owe $19.95 for a so called free sample? Why?, And how can this happen? Did they find a loop hole in the fraud laws?

I just received in the mail an offer of a free sample of PainVanish. I'm so glad I read all the complaints from people who have been scammed on this offer. And to think I was actually thinking of sending for it. The "free sample coupon " is now resting in Bin 13! Thanks to all of you for adding your complaints.

I thought it was a sample that I never ordered. I sure didn't want it. Calling on the phone number [protected], will only let you cancel if you give them a credit card number first. What a scam!
