Steak 'n Shake service/cleanliness

On 7/4 my family visited the Steak n Shake in Orlando (Vineland Dr.). We waited 20min to be seated, then had to wait another 20min for our order to be taken. Both of which I had to ASK for? The bathrooms were filthy, and the floors and our table had food on it, smh. Visiting from out of town, will NOT be returning here. This place needs a dose of Gordon Ramsey or Bar Rescue :-(

Steak 'n Shake service

We came in today [protected]) to Kannapolis, NC location and when we walked in we could tell something was different. We waited 7 minutes to be seated. There were 4 other tables occupied (2 were finished eating)... Saw 1 waitress... 1 cook...and 1 girl with a bright coral jacket walking around. No one acknowleged us or even said "someone will be right with you". We were finally seated but the waitress just laid our menus down and walked off. Another staff member came in to work and was asking who all called out. Several minutes later (4); she came to our table... We placed our order and asked if they were short today since it was holiday. She let us know who all called out. Long story short we ordered two burgers with fries... Took 23 minutes... Asked how much longer and was told it was coming out now ... Well... Burger still wasn't hot...burger was dry... Worst experience here and we come 4-5 month..

Steak 'n Shake food and charged twice

I am writing you this to show you I think I was charged twice on my debit card . On my bank account it said I was charged $5.92 and $6.00 .

$6.00 is what I was suppose to ONLY be charged . I've attached pictures below to see .

After recieving my #12 the food was cold . I am very disappointed as I love steak and shake .
Please,
I would like to make sure I was not charged twice .

Steak 'n Shake accuracy and time management

We frequent steak n shake at least once a month. We own a business in Edwardsville IL. During work house we visit this store and everything runs as should. Polite, accurate, tasty, and as busy as Edwardsville is sometime you do wait but it is always worth the wait. We live in Wood river IL. and the service is terrible! The worst part is the wait and accuracy. We have never had a correct order once. We opted to order pizza tonight due to the constant hassle. Our kids wanted SnS. We ordered the pizza at and picked it up at 8:20. Drove 1 min away to SnS waited till 9pm for 2 simple 4$ meals. They had 3 cars in the drive thru and didn't look busy. We received our food and drove off with major irritation and returned home with an incorrect order once again. The pizza we picked up 45 mins ago is from temp at best. Also, my son fell asleep hungry waiting on his food. Thanks again for all the disappointment this establishment has given us. Time to clean house or close doors.

Steak 'n Shake it's not right

We waited at least 5 minutes before anyone even acknowledged our presence. Once we were finally seated, the attached photo shows the view we had. This is both unsanitary and unappetizing. Contrary to your slogan "In sight I must be right", this is not right. Sadly, this is no different than our previous experience at this Steak and Shake. We will not be dining here again.

Steak 'n Shake customer service, general service

Waited 45 mins for two chicken tender meals. Come to find out they forgot we were waiting then only brought out fries so waited another 15 mins for chicken to come out. Girl at drive thru window was rude. No thank you or welcome not one word was spoken from her the whole transaction. The gentleman that brought out of chicken was on his cell phone and didn't speak or apologize for the wait or bringing only half the food we paid for.

Steak 'n Shake racist off duty employee

I went to the Kalamazoo Michigan location on west main at about 730 pm with my daughter and husband for dinner. There was a guy who came in who was all sweaty and wearing an inside out muscle t. He had a "44" tattoo that was large on the backs of his arms. I happen to know this is a Nazi low riders gang tattoo, and I'm sure the many black and Hispanic families and employees did as well. He ended up walking into the kitchen area and going around in the back. This was an even bigger issue for me, as he had poor hygiene, and either works there or was let into the back for whatever other reason. I found him to be completely offensive. I don't feel he should be working in the service industry. This is a very diverse area, and he isolated a number of people in there this evening. It's another issue that they let someone in the kitchen all sweaty and dressed like he was. I didn't get the guys name, but he is a white guy, heavier set, with a buzz cut. He had a tattoo on the back of his neck, and 44 tattooed on the back of his arms. In my opinion he should be fired.
On a positive note, our server, Quinton, was very friendly and did a great job. We go to Steak n' shake all the time. We live in Illinois but have family in Kalamazoo. If I ever walk into this location and see this guy again, I will walk out, and will instruct my family and friends to do the same.

Steak 'n Shake service and food

Went into to the Steak N Shake Located off of Post Road in Indianapolis, Store #255, Order # 326731. It was 3:40 PM on July 2, 2017. The first thing I noted was that about half the tables were dirty and still had dishes on them. I almost left right then and there and I wished I had because it just got worse from there. We were left standing for 10 minutes and my husband uses a walker. When the ONE waitress decided to notice us she told us to go ahead and sit down.

We were given no menus. It took another 10 minutes for her to wait on us. 30 minutes later we brought our sandwiches but could not get our chili or shakes. She brought us NO silverware or napkins. I had to search her down for that. After 10 minutes and we still had no chili or shakes I asked to speak with the Manager.

This man is the most unprofessional man I have met in my life. He was defensive and totally irresponsive for the condition of his store or the lack of customer service. What he told me and I quote "we are working our butts off and your telling me we are not doing a good job?" He told me if we did not like their service we could leave. I told him that he was not accepting any responsibility for the poor customer service and he just stormed off.

I can't believe you have someone like this as a manager in your store.

Steak 'n Shake products & services

Last week, June 23rd, we were in Indianapolis for a convention we stopped at the Steak & Shake on W Maryland St around 8 PM the restaurant was not all that busy, but the staff looked like they were in turmoil. No one looked like they knew what they were doing. We ordered 2 milkshakes & they came about 10 minutes later. We also order 3 of the little hamburgers they came 20 minutes after the shakes! The hamburgers & fries were cold as if they had been setting out a long time, I told the waitress & she said she would reorder them. I told her I didn't have another 20 minutes to wait, I asked her to put them in the microwave to warm them! I just marked up the hold experience as a bad kitchen help. The next night about the same time we decided to get a milkshake to go! From the time we ordered it was 22 minutes before we got the shakes, other customers had been waiting for 30 minutes for their order!
I ordered a butterfingers milkshake, 2/3 of it had no butterfingers at all. While we were waiting the funniest thing happened 2 policemen were there, one of them gave out menus & were seating people, both of them went behind the counter & helped themselves with a coke! People were laughing, it looked like a scene out of the Andy Griffith Show with Barney waiting tables.
The reason I am complaining if I were a restaurant order I would want to know how the customer got bad service & poor quality food! If I am the only one complaining in writing just think how many other customers felt as I did but never made a complaint! Every time I see a Steak & Shake I will remember the bad service & cold hamburgers!

Steak 'n Shake food

We went through the drive through at Steak and Shake for a late lunch. We ordered a double, and a triple steak burger along with 2 cups of chili and 2 fries. When we finally were able to open our food we found that we were given just meat and bread, when we assumed we would get what came on the burger. We also were not given and spoons or crackers for our chili. If I'm spending $17 at a drive through for burgers, I expect more than just the hamburger pattie and a bun.

Steak 'n Shake charged double

New to stake and shake so I ask lady about gift card and using phone to pay she told me I can pay with the phone and then she realised that I cant so she makes me pay for the transaction twice with my debit card because she said transaction did not go through so I ended up paying 40 usd for a 20 usd gift card when she mislead me and told me transaction had not gone through so I ended up giving 40usd for 20 usd.

Steak 'n Shake cleanliness

I live near the steak and shake in sandusky ohio, a large resort area with cedar point and kalahari water park. I'm go there about once a week, and I have never seen such a dirty restaurant. It starts in the parking lot, with lots of trash and cigarette butts everywhere, especially near front door, you all need to put on of those cigarette disposal containers by the front door, I waited 3 months last year before I finally complained about the smeared chocolate milkshake streaks on the front door. They finally cleaned them. The booths and the walls surrounding them are always dirty. The floors look like they havent been stripped and mopped in a long time. The window sills are covered with dust. if this is what the front of the house looks like, I would hate to get a look at the kitchen. you have to remember your dining room is the first thing people see when they walk in the door. I understand the manager doesn't care much about how clean the front is, but maybe needs to go down to McDonalds and take a look at their place . I know a lot of their business is seasonal, but it seems to be year round. The help couldn't be nicer, but you need to have a cleaning staff. If you don't believe me go see for yourselves. You can go to any restauant along the 250 strip and you won't find a more neglected place save maybe Ryans

Steak 'n Shake total service

My Significant other and I visited your Batesville, Indiana store last night, my first time being there at this location, we do live in Batesville, but, we had heard that the service was terrible, so, we decided to give it a try, sorry to say, all the bad things we had heard were true, such as service, and wait time for food. We both ordered the Chili Mac Supreme, I ordered a coke, he ordered coffee, we received our drinks, the server took our food order, then, there we sat for 30 minutes, my significant others coffee cup was empty, no check upon from server, when we finally received our food, we were told from the server " I'm so sorry I don't know how to make this, and the cook was busy, there may have been 10-12 other people in there, and no one had their food, so we told the server it was ok, and we were going to eat it anyway, until we both tried to take our first bite, for one thing, it was a child like portion, no chili on it, only cold spaghetti with cold salsa, needless to say, we got up and walked out, and the people that were sitting behind us still didn't have their food, they were there before us, something seriously needs to be done about this location here, and word of mouth can make you or break you, trust me we neither one will recommend it to anyone, we will discourage anyone from going, absolutely horrid.

Steak 'n Shake no jerk burger?!

The only reason I come to steak and shake is to sink my teeth in a delightful burger formally known as the jerk steak burger. It was such a delight to have such a caribbean taste at one of my favorite burger joints. It's unfortunate to have given this delectable up. The customer service is slow but the burger was worth the wait. I want this burger to come back. My fellow caribbean folk want it back! We tried the other semi-spicy burgers and they were, lack of better words, crap! Please bring it back to the kendall location at the least.

Steak 'n Shake time and service

Me, my fiancé, and two friends came in around 10:30 to order milkshakes to go. We each got a milkshake, so 4 total. That was the entire order. Every time I come to this location (on Monroe street in toledo, OH), the service and wait times are awful. I have grown to really dislike Steak and Shake because of this. Without fail, the drive through easily takes 20+ minutes every time we go through it. This time, we thought maybe we would try ordering inside and just waiting because it was seriously only 4 milkshakes. These milkshakes took AN HOUR. After fourty minutes, a waitress came up and asked us very rudely what we were waiting on. We told her milkshakes and she essentially threw a fit, made us all show her our receipts, and then had to write them all down because "oh they were bumped from the screen". Four orders were accidentally bumped from the screeen? I shouldn't have to wait an hour for a milkshake, especially one that they didn't even get right. I ordered peanut butter cup and pretty much just got vanilla with a chunk of peanut butter at the bottom. I've even tried calling ahead and ordering to avoid this kind of thing from happening but last night was the final straw. I had to wait an hour for the wrong milkshake and the worker gave me attitude like it was my fault four orders mysteriously were bumped from the screen. Somebody really needs to get in there and whip that store into shape because every food place I've worked at has run WAY smoother than this Steak and Shake. I'm tired of having to wait obscene amount of times for food that shouldn't take that long at all, and I'm tired of dealing with the workers that all seem to have an attitude and hate being there. Better management is something that should be considered. Ridiculous.

Steak 'n Shake service

Pulled up 12 min before closed and they had people inside the store eating. We went through drive thru and no one answered me for 5 min so we pulled up to the window. a guy look dead at us and didn't acknowledge us. Then a female was chewing gum, on her cell phone during open hours while we was waiting for her to come to the window and ignored us. She was playing around with other employees and then we pulled around to where the doors were and went to go open them both and they were both locked but had 5 cars in the parking lot. Then we pulled back aroun to the drive thru window and they said we close 10 min early. The only thing we wanted was 3 shakes .

Steak 'n Shake overall service

16201 n. Dale mabry highway Tampa, FL. Waited in the drive through and was parked for 15 minutes. My partner went inside to see what was going on since the two cars behind us had came and went with their food. Manager told us our food dropped on the ground and the replacements were almost ready. After 5 more minutes of waiting and dodging my partner at the front she asked for a refund. He said that was fine. He walked to the back, came up with our food and a coupon for $5 off our next visit... That is no refund and isn't even half of our original bill. And that's assuming we will come back. Very dissapointed with the way we were treated today. Probably won't be using that coupon.

Steak 'n Shake steak n shake holt rd

Visited steak and shake thurday morning @1am the manager took my order and went to sit down everyone on backline was walking around and playing another lady came in after me and ordered my order after 30 mins was nt even being prepared so i asked for a refund and the manager said register wont give refunds i asked for corporate number and the manager walked away and was rude after that they had served to other guess and made me wait and was still being rude i waited a total of 1 hour and a half for two items and the customer service and food wasnt good i dont feel like they really care about their job because of how they were acting and the serivce they provided i souldnt have to wait that long and be treated like i was at this location

Steak 'n Shake packing of food

I just went through the drive thru at the Cartersville, GA location and ordered the Chili 5 way. The girl, at the window, handed me my bag with chili running down the side of it. I gave it back to her so she could rebag it as I did not want it spilling over in my car. I watch her thru the window and she has another employee block the view so I can't see her. She comes back to the window and hands me the bag again. I asked her if the bowl was secured and if it was a new bag, she stated yes. I get home, which is 5 mins away, and my Passenger Seat stained from the chili leaking into the bag. I specifically asked if the bowl was closed and for a new bag so this wouldn't happen, but I feel like she did this on purpose because I asked her to redo it. Now I have a chili stain on my beige seat. I've tried calling the store, literally 9 times, and they are declining my calls. The 1st time I called, it just rang and rang. Then after that, I get rejected by the 2nd ring so they won't answer the phone. Another reason why I feel like it was done on purpose which is why they won't answer the phone and I'm pissed. I want someone to call me. Someone at Steak-n-Steak is going to reimburse me the cost to have my seat cleaned.

Steak 'n Shake eureka missouri by six flags st. louis

Yesterday after a long day at six flags I took my Family and Friend to Steak n Shake for dinner. Our waitress Tori was really quick to seat us get our drinks and seat us. The wait on our food was over 30min. When we got our food we noticed we ordered cheese fries but had no cheese on the fries. Our fries we cold and grease filled. We told a server not the one that served us to begin with about the issue. At first they just brought us a side portion of cheese. Again we complained about our fries. The server told us she wpuld get the manager. 20 minutes later a lady came to our table with someone elses shakes. We asked where our shakes were and tried telling her about our fries but she walked off. I asked a server if this was a manager. She said yes it was. I told the server that the manager didn't due well witb confrontation. She would not talk to us or listen to our issues. About 10 minutes after that our shakes still were not at the table and still no fresh fries. My friend walked up to the counter and asked a server about our shakes and fries. They said they would have them out after again trying to give her someone elses order. The Manager finally came out and spoke to my friend telling her that she could handle confrontation and didn't appreciate her cusding out her 16 year old server. May I remind you the 16 year old server Tori had not spoke to us since she took our order. My friend did not cuss anyone and was annoyed at the false accusations and attak on her character. The 16 year old server Tori was sent out to our table to apologize. She told my froend sorry about the order mix up but did not apologize about accusing my friend of cussing her. After nearly 2 hours of sitting there we finally recieved all new meals and our shakes. The Manager did give us free shakes sodas and 40% off our meal. Then proceeded to tell us how 14 people walked out and she was short staffed and how her job sucked. There was only 4 tables with people. I seen atleast 4 cooks, 3 servers and was told by a server there was 2 managers there onsite. I've worked fast food and I know for no more people thay was in that restaurant there was no excuse for bad food and rude service.
