Outback Steakhouse Food

On 06/18/16 we had dinner at 4:21 PM. Upon entering Outback the odor was not good and that should have been our cue to leave, but we ordered anyway since I had been there several months before and the food was good then. Our salad was not good since it had old brownish tinged green leaves of lettuce and the Italian dressing was awful. The butter was too sweet for the bread and baked potatoes. The baked potatoes were awful and tasted like microwave warm over from a baked potato from the day before. The ribeye steaks were full of fat areas that made up at least 25% of the steak and they were not good either. One was very dry and not moist at all.

I will not be eating there again.

Outback Steakhouse poor management/customer service

Outback in Durham NC 5/29/2016 my receipt number was 213 and 212
but Regina was not my original server. She was my replacement server.
I'm not generally the type to complain. However, my waiter serving my food was not practicing good hygiene. He was very nice but, every time he reached over with his arm lifted; I wanted to vomit! I finally got up the gut to go and say something to another server while my server left to get another tables drinks. I explained to her that he wasn't wearing any deodorant. She apologized and went to talk to her manager. The manager came over to apologize and talk to us about the issue. My server came out and tried to ease drop on the conversation. I never really got a chance to talk to the manager. However, the manager knew the issue. He got someone else to cover my table but, never addressed the actual issue with my smelly server. The manager sent me a replacement sever but my original server continued to come over to my table and ask us if we needed anything but, was making us very uncomfortable. He even brought us our check and again reached over me with his horrid smelling armpits. Ive never felt so discussed, uncomfortable, and disappointed in my life at a restaurant. Hygiene should be a top priority at any place that serves food. The manager should've pulled the server to the side to address the issue. Dan was nice at the beginning but, awkward at the end. I feel really bad for the waiter. My waiter was nice and a good waiter, just one that needed to be aware of the issue. I believe I deserve a refund because I could not enjoy my meal and was ready to get out of there the moment I received my food.

You have no idea whether the waiter was spoken to or not, and honestly, it is really none of your business how the management handled that situation. Once you give your complaint, it is out of your hands and into the manager's. Had the manager said something to the waiter in your presence, the waiter could have sued him, the business, and you. Next time, state your case, and leave it up to the business to handle it.

By the way, just because you could smell him does not mean he has no deoderant on, or that his hygiene is bad. It could be that he had worked over a shift, ran his tail off, worked the kitchen, or just had a chemical problem in his DNA.

Outback Steakhouse poor service and atmosphere.

My wife and two of our best friends went to Outback Steakhouse in St. George, Utah on 10/13/2015 at 5:13 PM. I went there wanting to have their steak and fryed shrimp that was on special. When I ordered, the said that they were out of fried shrimp. When I asked if the "special" was still on he snapped at me and said "well, we have had it on the menu for 9 days" like I should have been there earlier. If the shrimp was on the menu, then I expect to be served fried shrimp. He tried to talk me into the buttered shrimp which I hate. While we were sitting at the booth, we noticed some shelves that had rotten appricots and spider webbs hanging down next to your booth. Not to appitizing to say the least. I had to asked 2 times for more water. The filet mignon was too tuff to shew. Needless to say none of us at the table will be back.

Outback Steakhouse uncooked meat and fatty steak

My boyfriend and I have went to our nearest Outback Steakhouse Located 11308 N 56th St
Temple Terrace, FL 33617 - Saturday Night August 1, 2015
My boyfriend had order the mild wings and the wings were not cooked all the way and didn't taste mild and you could still see the pink in it and that night later he didn't feel good (stomach issues, ect) My Order was the 6 ounce steak with a Baked potato on the side and the steak was 90% fat and i asked for no seasoning and they had put it. Also the potato was dried out very disappointed and the servers were rushing us out and no refills at all. Bad service indeed. We wish for a Refund or Coupons for the Meal.

Outback Steakhouse service and food

I go here twice a month. This time, my wife and I ordered an outback special 9 oz and 12 oz. After taking our order and waiting 20 mins, the server came back and said they were out of of the 9oz and my wife wouldn't be able to get the special for Wed, Sun. So, she changed the order to the 12 oz. 10 mins later, the server came back and said they would trim down a 12 oz for her. When the steaks came, one was a 6oz and the other a 9 oz. We were shocked! The server said, "Yea, those look small and the 12 oz is definitely a 9 oz". So, I simply returned my order, my wife just kept hers. I didn't want anything special on my next order! The manager came out and asked if I would want something else with a smurk. He didn't apologize or suggest any refund. I will not go back.

The staff is unprofessional. The manager should have offered an apology and, upon looking at my wife's steak, offered us something else. In the end, they took their time waiting on us and we were there two hours and 15 minutes. The manager could care less and what's worse, they took 20 minutes after I paid for my wife's meager steak to return my receipt. I wouldn't doubt if they took a picture of my credit card!

Outback Steakhouse special occassion

This dinner was a special occasion 3 birthday's combined to one dinner there were 12 people in this party we had called in advance to see if they could accommodate this size party at one table, we were told they could and it would be ready when we arrive. When we arrived, it wasn't ready and they couldn't seat us together we did not want to be at separate tables and they said they couldn't seat that many people only 7 per table. I know this is a lie because we do this 4-5 times a year at Outback and if they changed the rules they should have told us when we called so we could make other arrangements. The manager was rude and didn't apologize that we were told incorrectly and didn't seem to care. So I suggest to our group lets go to Chili's and they had no problems seating us and treated us well. Our 4-5 special occasions will from now on will be Chili's or Texas Steak House. Don't believe Outback will be our first choice anymore, I do believe they need new management, you just can't treat your customers in the way she treated us and have people come back. By the way the waitress was very polite and she lost a lot of money in tips for one hour of work because we always take care of our waitress when we leave.

Outback Steakhouse customer service

This was the worst service I have ever experienced from outback @ 7206 NW Cache RD., Lawton OK 73505 and will be the last. Today was my mother n laws birthday and we decided to show her how Outback celebrate birthdays. As soon as we entered I let the ladies @ the front know we had a birthday to celebrate. After we almost finish eating my husband went back to let them know again. The manager Britany came to the table and we let her know for the 3rd time. Before we knew it the crew was over singing happy birthday to another table. My mother n law said "is this how Outback celebrate their birthdays" hmm they over look me but sing to the other table that came in way after we did. I guess since we're African American we don't get that privilege. Britany apologized and offered gift cards and my husband excepted the cards and I asked him to give them away because you can't cover this type of mistake up. Britany tells us that they were short staffed and that's why. I feel that if they was short staffed why would you sing to any tables. Everyone should have been told that due to staffing we will do all we can to make it happen. I'm really blown away about this racism mess. Also when I asked for cooperates phone number Kristen gave me the website and tried to explain. I let her know that I called for the number and since she wanted to refuse me the number I would locate it myself and ended the call

Outback Steakhouse the health inspector fails the restaurants many times

Outback Steakhouse - Restaurants / Aiken SC & Augusta GA : Dont waste your time...terrible customer service and they will bring you the wrong food and then act like they did nothing wrong. Never Drive to the Aiken SC & Augusta GA locations, they have lousy service and food, and they support racial discrimination ( notorious for mistreating minority customers & employees). The employees all mistreat and discriminate against each other, and set up new minority employees to get fired, staff do not wash their hands, restaurant managers are rude & have attitude problems, employees using racial slurs, food poisoning cases, the health inspector fails the restaurant many times, the servers are often lazy, inexperienced, & rude! I will not ever eat there again!

Outback Steakhouse poor quality

On Monday 02/18/2013 at approximately 5:15pm we entered restaurant, impressed with atmosphere, condition of restaurant, service was acceptable. Steak dinners were ordered, cooked to satisfaction but the quality of the meat was absolutely terrible, steak was extremely tough, shrimp was overcooked and to hot to enjoy (spice wise), baked potato was cold. Neither meal was completed, waitress never once asked if the meal was acceptable. I completed a survey that evening stating the above complaints and have not received a response. I am hoping that I will hear something from someone with this form. Thank you for your time.

Outback Steakhouse food poisoning

Once again Outback Steakhouse refuses to stand behind their food. Several months later and multiple phone calls and they refuse to take care of customers that got REALLY sick from their food. My husband and I tried to have a really nice dinner with some elderly friends of ours and go figure...WE literally paid for it. Our elderly lady friend ended up in the hospital from FOOD POISONING. My husband and I were EXTREMELY sick from there as well. They have NO desire to accommodate the $$$$$ it has cost for this horrifying experience that we had. Apparently it's time to put this matter into an Attorneys hands. For anyone out there that has had any food poisoning from this place, your best bet is to go straight to attorney because they will NOT do ANYTHING to accommodate the time, money, health, wellness, and even LIFE that they have caused such trauma for NOT only my husband and I but for the elderly couple we were with that have health issues already and the last thing they need is to deal with some INCONSIDERATE place like this. HOPEFULLY, we can see them in court SOON!

Outback Steakhouse outback cheats hardworking employees

Class-action lawsuits against this (One of many) racist outback steakhouse food chains, have been piling up, due to rampid racial discrimination, refusing to promote good black employees, and sticking black men to the back of the house, while, female & white co-workers, are treated to "easier" jobs, in the front of the house, constantly cheating black male workers out of their full wages, and outback management "skimming" off the tips, and fraudulant cashing employees checks to pay for their expenses! My famiy, and neighbors in the aiken community are currently boycotting this crappy restuarant, which has of lately, benn serving lousy food!

Outback Steakhouse complaint 10. poor, slow service

Will never eat at Outback again after tonight's experience. First me and my husband waited forever to be seated. After being seated, we hardly ever saw our waiter. We sat about 5 minutes before he finally came up and took our order. Took about 7 minutes for our salads to get there. The salad was bitter and not fresh. We sent it back and waited for our main course. We only got our first refill when the food got there. This was after they got my order wrong. I had to wait another 10 minutes for them to fix it while my husband ate his. Then they charged us for the salads in the end. The whole restaurant definitely heard about our experience when I summoned the waiter to the table and gave him a piece of my mind. Mind you my husband and I are well off. He makes lots of money. We could have dined here often, but right now I would not give you even a one cent tip.

Outback Steakhouse horrible service

My wife and I went to New Bern location of Outback on February, 28 2012. It was Tuesday, around 7:45, and the restaurant was completely empty. The hostess sat us right next to a loud party celebrating a birthday. They were using foul language and were quite loud. We waited for 10-15 minutes before our server finally arrived to get our drink orders. Like I said before, the place was empty. There were a handful of people at the bar, our table, and the party next to us. That was it. It should not have taken that long to get a drink order in. We ordered a Blooming Onion that came out burnt and we could not eat. Both of our baked potatoes were cold. We only received on refill during the entire meal. Even after we were done eating it took 15-20 minutes before the check arrived. There was no excuse for the horrible service by our waitress. We even contacted Outback about our experience. It has been one week, and no response. We will never eat there again.

The party next to us only had 4 people. One table beside ours being used, still qualifies for the place being empty. Also, I never complained about the wait time for the food. The complaint was about how long it took for the server to initially arrive, and and how long it took to receive the bill.

I find it odd that you'd bring this to a public online forum. This is a matter that should've been taken up with the management that evening. Chances are high you would've had an item or your whole meal comp'd. Unless of course your complaints are baseless... :/

Next time I'd recommend voicing your complaints to the people who can actually help you.

Outback Steakhouse disrespect

My spouse works at Outback Steakhouse because it is something to make money while I'm Stationed at Ft Huachuca. At first I could come in and have a meal while my spouse was working. Now I cannot even have a beer at the bar if my spouse is there working. I don't ask for their section nor do I ask for a discount or anything free. I am sI'mply a paying customer wanting a decent meal because in sierra vista it is few and far between. I couldn't tell you how the food is because I'm not allowed to eat there. Its plane disrespectful to me to be treated this way especially when the motto of the restaurant is "No rules, just right". I am told I may dine there when my spouse is not currently working. How am I supposed to do that when she works almost every night, and when my spouse is not working, they would like to eat elsewhere than where they work. I feel this needs to be corrected because my spouse is not the only person that works there so there is a large group of people that cannot go there at all.

Sincerely;
Pissed Off Veteran

1 I do not stalk my wife's employment. second I was only given a sample meal when we first got into the area by her new boss as a token of appreciation. Third I do not drink in public, talking about beer was an example because I'm not allowed on the premises. Last but not least I have never sat in my wife's section because I can't even go there. I understand your attempt to make it seem like my fault but I'm not there to do anything stupid or even try for that matter. I tried to go there once after she had started working because at her last job she enjoyed me coming by.

I called at 10:18 pm 11/21/15 at the Maumee, OH location for Curbside Take Away. I was on hold for a few minutes and then a gentleman answered the phone and said he would transfer my call. I sat through 5 minutes of advertising, and then someone picked up, and did not talk. They then hung up on me. I took my family to a competitor for dinner.

Just don't tell them she's your spouse. How the heck would they know? Tell her next time to go get her own job on her own. You don't have to tag along.

Seriously you are not telling the truth. My husband works at the same Outback as your wife does. I have asked him if this policy is true and he informed me that it is not. He also informed me that one of his coworkers has asked the manager to lie and tell her husband that spouses are not allowed to eat there while they are working because she feels distracted by her work and feels her husband is controlling her by making sure she is actually working and not dating someone else while married. If you are the same husband your wife feels smothered that you go into her place of work every week to check up on her. He said that I am welcome to eat there while he is working, the only thing is he cannot serve me. It not only applies to me but other family members and friends as well. He is allowed to dine with them when he is not working. They even get a discount, but I surely am allowed to eat where my husband works. There is something more to this which you are obviously not sharing. Just so you know several of us spouses will be telling you that you are full of crap.

why is this even a topic anymore?

It is Outback's rule, and as an employee, your wife (and by extension, you as well) are required to follow it, or she can quit. There are a lot of rules I disagrees with at my job, but I also know if I want to keep my job, I follow the rules.

the topic is as good as dead because its been beat to death.

Since my spouce's spouse also works at the same Outback as your wife and my spouce is allowed to eat while the spouse works. Obviously, something happened to cause your from getting banned from Outback when your wife is working.
You said your wife told you to leave. You should talk to your wife about why she doesn't want you to be there when she is working.

Outback Steakhouse just a concern

My wife and I have been customers’ at the Grapevine Outback location for 15 years now. We spend one evening, usually Friday evening, also Saturday and sometimes one more time each week at this establishment . Again, I mentioned that we have been doing this for 15 years. During this time we have met all the different management staff, employees and many patrons. As I am sure you are aware, there are some employees working at this location that have been at this location since our first visit, which is one of the main reasons that we enjoy and relish our attendance. I will mention at least one outstanding employee, Bridget, however there are many more that are tremendous and have become close friends (Rachel, Todd, Jackson, Trent, Meredith, to name a few). In addition, we have met many wonderful good people during our visits, and have become very close friends with many other “regulars” and non regulars that dine and visit this location. I guess we just try to be friendly and help everyone enjoy their visit.

As you are aware, Outback is “not” the only restaurant available for us to frequent, however, because of the employees, the service, cleanliness, the standard for quality of food, pricing and variety of selection, we really only ever consider this restaurant. We even joke about it, well, “let’s try a new restaurant…….like ”, and we end up at Outback. All who know us hear about how “ great Outback” is. We solicit virtually everyone we come in contact with to frequent this establishment. We bring our family, our friends, and business associates to this location as stated prior on a regular basis.

I wish to apologize however for an incident that occurred Friday night, 12/23/2011 at this location. I arrived at Outback from work at about 6:30pm, and then my wife and oldest son arrived. We sat at the bar, as we usually do for cocktails and some dinner. Met and spoke with other couples that were sitting around us, laughed and were having a pleasant evening. Although the Restaurant was busy, “service “ was again fantastic, Bridget and Rachel working behind the bar and were just super attentive to all both sitting and standing around the bar area. We ordered some dinner, ate and visited with those around us. Met a very nice couple that resembles an actor and that also lives in Grapevine. Our son finished his dinner and departed at about 7:45pm.

All seemed fine until a group (two adult males, an adult female and young girl) came in and first sat across the bar from us, then moved to some seats that where vacated close to us. As I usually do, I greeted them, they sat down, and I didn’t pay much other attention to them.

All of a sudden, the larger of the two men, started loudly and profanely complaining about the service and how absolutely filthy the bar area was. I looked around to see the what he might be speaking of, but could not really picture what was wrong as the area was busy. My wife responded to the man that he please not be so rude, loud, and asked as to what he was referring, to which he then basically told her to “shut the “f”up, and repeated his disgust with the establishment. It was then both my wife and I responded to the man that if he was unsatisfied, then maybe he should leave. His response became more profane, and told me to be careful for my actions because he would “f” me up. I did then respond quite profane, stood up, stated again that maybe he should leave if things were so horrid, and then I sat down. About this time, one of the assistant managers appeared with a couple of waiters, spoke to the man and then they escorted him back to the kitchen. By this time, the females that were with the men left, and the other man remaining, stated to me that his friend was going to “f” me up, and to be very, very afraid of him. From my sitting position, my response was also stern and profane, yet I asked him if maybe they just leave and I would pay their tab. His response was something to the effect of “f” you. I stated profanely with a “whatever”, and he left. However, the first man was still in the kitchen with the assistant manager. All seemed calm again.

I ordered some dessert, it came, and I ate it. My wife and I were still at the bar when another manager came up to me and stated that “I” should leave. Well, that did irritate me. My “actions” during this event were not perfect, (as my natural voice is loud anyway), however, during the entire issue I remained seated except once, and was basically attempting to defend the staff and the Restaurant.

I then got up, laid $100.00 on the bar for our tab, and have left. Once outside, the first man was there still conversing with the assistant manager.

Outback Steakhouse bad service

Open letter to management. I have yet to see a response:

My wife and I had dinner at your establishment on 12/10/2011. I must sadly report that our experience was sub par at best. Let's start with our server, Taylor. He was kind and respectful but did not seem too focused on our needs. You see, it took an awful long time for our order to come out. Everyone else around us was receiving quick and snappy service, even those who were seated after us. After waiting about 30 minutes or so Taylor ran off to check the status of our food. Our order some how got keyed in as a “to go” order and was boxed up getting cold. Our server placed the food onto plates and brought it out to us. I can not for the life of me figure out how that could have happened. The food itself was good but starting to get cold. At the end of our meal he brought us our check BUT never offered us a survey as he had done for the table next to us. Hmmmmm I wonder why?

The second half of me and my wife's irritation came from a gentlemen that was in the restaurant going table to table doing card tricks. I thought that the in-house entertainer was pretty cool but he NEVER stopped at our table. Everyone else around us got a show. The only thing the I could come up with is that me and my wife were the ONLY African Americans on that side of the restaurant. I left your establishment insulted and made to feel like a second class citizen. I really don't think my wife and I will be returning anytime soon. I doubt that anyone in management will take my complaint seriously enough to care but I could not be silent. I needed to voice my thoughts.

Thank you for you time.

UPDATE:
01/07/2012

My wife and I would like to thank you for you for reaching out and responding to our first email where we had issues with service several weeks ago. We since received a gift certificate from the manager of our local Outback and we visited the restaurant December 26th. Our experience was very pleasant and enjoyable. The food was good and service was top notch. We also got the cookies sent from your corporate office. Thank you. We sincerely mean it. We will be coming back! Thank you again.

Outback Steakhouse my dinner

I went with my family to outback for my moms birthday. I ordered an 8 oz prime rib with mashed garlic and a sweet potato. My complaint is the prime rib steak. I could not eat it and I took 2 bites and it made me nauseous. I could not chew it and I had to spit it out. I have never had a problem with outback I love this restaurant, except for the night of November 15. Being my moms birthday I did not say anything, but my dad noticed I was not eating the steak and I told him it was disgusting. The waitress was told by my dad and she got the manager Doug. I told him it was the worst prime rib I ever had. He acted like I was stupid and I have. Never eaten it before. He offered to make me another steak and I declined because I just wanted to go. My dog enjoyed it. Thank you, Melody Grove

They offered to replace it, you refused, and you still complain about it?
If you thought it was so bad why did you try to poison you poor helpless dog with it? What is your point?

Outback Steakhouse ripping off customers

I went to a outback in Sanford Florida and order their 6 oz sirloin.

the server brought out a plate with a flat iron steak on it.

How do I know? I'm a butcher by trade;. when I told the server I ordered

a sirloin steak she insisted that it was, but was unable to explain

to me what it should look like?. Serving a cheaper cut of meat to save money

is one thing.. But lying after you get caught, that's unforgivable, .

even the chef and manager could not explain the different cuts of meat

in their own cooler without labels to assist them'. but they claim to know enough to assure me that I was given the proper steak!.

A word of advice to Outback, if you don't know, admit it, . the truth would have avoided this complaint.

Your catching on. Off to the re-indoctrination camp with you.

Steaks are a classic example of foodstuffs now sold with no regard to type or quality. I think the good stuff is all going exclusively to the Beltway or Manhattan. The plebes can take what we offer them (twice the price no less). And why not? The average American yo-yo doesn't know the difference, and pays for it with a credit card, . That ain't a restaurant. It's a place to socialize and "share" and have a socialist time with you F's &F'.

Just saw a pack of turkey vents in the meat cooler of a mainstream grocery store (and not just 6 bits a pound either). Reminds me of my visit to the Soviet Union 40 yrs ago. I watched the poor slobs pawing through blue-green cuts of meat - all of maybe three in the entire cooler, trying to see if any of them had anything salavageable.

I think that gruesome scene has hit home.

Outback Steakhouse disappointed

I will never return to this location. we arrived at approx. 5pm on sat feb19th. the place was packed. one of the hostess was keeping one of the outdoor doors open. and every time the outside door was opened the outdoor wind chill of mid teens come rushing into the restuarnt, where everybody was waiting for a seat. there didnt appear to be any management personnel available. we had asked for a coffee and never received any during the 45 minutes that we were waiting there. there didnt appear that anyone was being seated during this time frame. and after we requested how long before we would be seated and were told at least another hour, we left the chaos at this restaurant !

Outback Steakhouse rip off

I was given a $100 gift card to Outback as a Christmas present from my father. The franchise was running a promotion where a bonus $20 gift card was given if the $100 card was purchased. I burned through my $100 card and went to use the $20 at the curbside to-go. I ordered light and the entree came to around $12. I was informed by the car attendant that I would not be receiving the remaining $8 on the card. They are not able to subtract value off the card. It is one time. Use the full $20 or else.

Are you sure it was a gift card and not a coupon? A lot of companies issues coupons that look like gift cards, but are one-time use.

It's possible the poster missed some fine print. Either way, they had the option to use that money under specific conditions and chose not to.

Good legal question here. The law says a designated promotional must have the value advertised or be viewed as false advertisement. You may wish to write a short blurp to the local university law school asking a professor to make this question into a project for the students. I would think a judge would rule the franchise had falsely advertised that gift card as $20 usage without noting the qualifiers. You could file a "lien" against the vendor for your missing $8.
... Years ago a law student filed a lien against the Hilton Hotel in California after they failed to refund his $20 security deposit. He had to write up a lien for class ... so he wrote it, filed it in court as required. A judge ruled the hotel was required to pay. The Hilton did not pay any attention. The judge ruled at a later session that the hotel would be sold at auction to secure the funds. The attorneys for the Hilton were not there to hear the judge suggest that the law student post the required news announcements in papers in other states! The boy showed up for the auction, no one else came ... he BOUGHT the Hilton Hotel for a dollar. (Which the Hilton in turn paid him over a million to have returned to their title .. they also chose to hire the boy after his graduation as a lawyer to represent THEM in the future). Pretty cool! Would you like to own your local restaurant? Who knows ...
