ortho white Ortho Whie Ripped me off!

I tried the Ortho White teeth whiting product. I was sent a 30 day supply of the product for a seven day trial period. I was under the impression that I would only receive enough product to try the product for seven days. I only used the product for the trial period with no results. I then requested to cancel the product. My bank account was charged $78.41 for basically nothing. I requested to return the additional unused product, but was told by the company that I was no due a refund. I am now contacting my bank to disavow all charges.

Were you able to disavow the charges through the bank? I am in a similar situation.

I agreed to try the tooth whitening brushes for £1.00 only and in conversation with a representative it was confirmed that I had NOT signed up for anything else. On August 23rd $76.13 was taken and on September 20th another $82.08. I did NOT agree to any further charges and I have not had anything sent to me relating to the charges taken. No goods or...

ortho white teeth whitening

purchased a free trial of Ortho White and paid $2.87 shipping and handling, the offer was on one of the app games from facebook or myspace. What I did not anticipate was the $84 after charge about a week later. I received the product after the charge. Then I figured, "Ok I get it nothing is free, they got me". about 3 weeks later I recieved another box. I called the phone number on the box to cancel the service. 2 weeks later, I called the company after recieving another $87 charge, and spoke to customer service. I asked, "I returned the product unopened and wanted to know when I would get my money refunded to me". The girl on the other line said, "that's not our refund policy and you signed up for a monthly service" I said, "I don't want the teeth whitening and I signed up for a free trial". She told me, "Too bad, we're sending the box back and that's not our return policy, you had 8 days to try the product before cancelling it." I then called my bank and cancelled my debit card. Thankfully the bank has put in a claim for the company. Unfortunatly I fell for a stupid scam, and the company is not going to cooperate.

I forgot to mention this blog article which helped me a lot understand how "free" trials work:

It's not a scam it's just about people not reading what they are getting!

You've got to look for trials that last at least 14 days, and check out carefully how to cancel even before ordering.

When something is "free" I always read the terms and conditions twice.

If you had read the terms and conditions of Ortho White you wouldn't have bothered getting to the order page!

So please stop staying things are scams, just say you were stupid not having read the terms, and advise people to do so.

Orthowhite should not advertise "free trial" and then charge you for the whole program before you can even try the product. Good thing I got out when I did, because without knowing, I was enrolled in recurring shipments of the product. Hopefully all of us victims (potential consumers) can be reimbursed for their trickery.

ortho white free trial is not free-scam

I signed up for a 'free trial' agreeing to pay $2.87 for shipping charges to try Ortho white through a third party survey/prize award. Yes, I thought if I got through the survey I would get a free apple computer. Not! The third party made it clear I had to purchase 5 products...which after looking at it didn't amt to much...Being retired, having time, I thought why not. Well now I know why not. I didn't make it through the maze for the free apple but thought the Ortho offer for $2.87 was worth a try.
Much to my surprise, I got my free trial from Ortho along with a charge of $78.41 to my credit as well as the $2.87.

A confirmation e-mail which informed me of the order, my name & address, shipping address, product, charges of $2.87
etc. from Ortho did arrive. They cleaverly confirm all the shipping billing date and..once I saw that $2.87 was charged to my credit, I did not think any careful scrutiny of the fine print was required which is at the bottom of the e-mail.
I called Ortho..but was told that I had only 6 days to cancel..and so I was too late. After great protest the operator agreed to give me a $45 credit. I am not happy..$35 for a 'free trial' is outrageous. I've written to customer service and we'll see what they do.

This company advertises online to get a free sample for just shipping of $3.37, when I got the box there was a free sample but also the whole product that said they would bill me $78.81 a month even before I asked for it. I had to contact them 2 times and get it cancelled then you have to mail the product back to them they give you about 10 days and say they will charge your credit card if not received by them. I had to go to Post Office pay to over night it back to them the ad is misleading should not be allowed to do this ever.

the offer indicated a 30 day free trial for $1.00 shipping cost. later observation of the terms and conditions I did realize it states the trial package must be returned to eliminate any other charges. this information is well hidden, unclear, and unfair to consumers.

I was looking on my computer when i noticed free trial for ortho white i just had to pay shipping they said then they ended up 2 days later charging my bank acct 78.47 making my acct overdrawn another 35.00 on top of the 78.47. I am disabled and need my money to pay my utilities and dont have it now! I am requesting my money refunded ASAP! This is ridiculious that they would be allowed to do this to people. How can they get by with this?

This is not a scam . This is just a Date sensitive promotion . So, if I were you, I would read first the TERMS and CONDITION before placing an order!

Another mug right here.

Ordered this free trial then tried looking for another free trial which I was told to use both products at the same time.

Lost the internet connection and found this page after I'd signed up for this. Cancelled within 10 minutes of ordering so will just have to wait and see what I've lost.

On the page it said I could 'super cancel' (pay $10 and keep the item when delivered)

Or

I could cancel (wait for item to be delivered and send back at my own expense)

Since I'm from uk I took the 1st option as probably cheaper

It was happened to me the same. I thought it's the free trial turned out a scam. They charge me 80 dollars more than the shipping.
I'm trying to call both my credit card company and OrthoWhite to see what gonna happen.

Is anybody know if we can report to the police? Otherwise, this company will continue to take advantage to someone else!
I've once encounter the scam and successfully turn them down due there were also other victims call the police.
Why not we all coordinate to call the police the same time report about the fraudulent behavior of OrthoWhite in order to gain our right back?!
