This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

They offered a low rate for an AC checkup. Upon arrival, NO maintenance was performed. They tried to sell me replacement capacitors for parts that were still good at 10X the actual cost as well as WAY overpriced services such as coil cleaning and drain cleaning. If you decline, they pressure you to buy the 3 year ($499.00) service agreement to cover "necessary" repairs. This is a classic bait and switch and they should be exposed for the unethical business they are.

This is directly aimed at the owner/owners of this company. You want to fiind and fire the person or persons you say are wrong and slandering your company. Pull your head out of your [censor] and read the thousands of negative reviews about your company. You should worry more about writing the wrong of your business practices instead of sitting at the bar all day stuffing drinks down your neck and bills in the strippers g strings. Your just another [censor] taking advantage of anyone you can and don't lose a bit of sleep doing it. Just remember what comes around goes around and dont worry your day is coming. Carma will get ya..

they are dishonest! they upcharge capacitors and relays at 10X their normal cost! their "warranty" is no labor charge and a 20% discount on parts. BUT they 10X the part cost!.. start assist: 543.00! 35 uf cap: 278.00!...after 20% off?
the bill for 2 relays and 4caps and a pound of r22 was 1989.79!

we are refusing to pay, they can sue. Contacting the BBB and the state attorney general.

DO NOT GO THERE

Do yourself a favor and avoid this company at all costs! Also be ware, if your heat pump works and they tell you it leaks and needs to be replaced, get another a) opinion and b) if it does need replacing find someone that will help you get rebates from your local electric company like APS and SRP.

My friend had questioned the 563.00 cost for a 36.00 TRANSFORMER.. and then the a/c quit ...they were there for less that 1 hr...and wanted to charge him $8, 000 for a replacement...FOLKS THIS IS AS BAD AS SELLING PLYWOOD IN AN HURRICANE for PRICE GOUGING $500.00 PER SHEET...thats considered a federal crime...so the temp hits 120 in Phoenix and these MAFIA CON ARTIST A?C TECHS so called SALESMAN...LOLOLOL...think they can charge anything they want...well they need to be charged with FRAUD as well as DECEPTIVE TRADE PRACTICES via a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT>>>>>

As of today, Home Depot executives are now well aware of this company, its practices and worthless service and sales practices.
I am an unfortunate customer and have deep ties with Home Depot corporate and have initiated a full scale complaint with my counterparts at Home Depot and be aware there is going to be a severe backlash to this company as I have complied and presented a wealth of information that has
caught the attention of important people at Home Depot. Rest assured these clowns will soon be stunned by what is coming their way.

We were sold a brand new Rheem unit by Orangutan that cost thousands of dollars only to have the coils freeze up right at the One year mark. We have had the same problem happen 3 times within two months at the peak of Arizona Summer! Now we are told that Rheem is being sued for manufacturing faulty parts and we should join the class action. This class action started in 2013 and we bought our unit in July 2014. Why were Home Depot and Orangutan still installing Rheem units? I'm sure large companies like these do their due diligence and research the products they are selling...Evidently not! Of course we are now told that our unit is leaking freon and the temporary fix will only last maybe a week. Our unit is only 1 year old and of course not covered for any labor costs. Going to contact the Attorney General and my employers who are Construction Defect Litigation Attorneys.

They did a review of the AC unit in late 2014 and said a new one was needed. I declined. It is mid May 2015 now and they have been calling at least once a month ever since then, trying to sell a new unit. They've been asked to stop, but the calls continue. On the latest call again they were asked to stop calling and the caller just kept with the questions, trying a hard sell approach. Had to hang up to shut him up.

I have had the same experience with Orangatang . After being sold an Extended warranty AGREE...when I purchased the unit in 2010, I also purchased a Maimtance contract that provided for 2 service checkups a year to the end of the warranty in 2022. now they say that service contract was only till 2013 and is expired. I am now told that if I do not pay the $299 annual "Maintanence agreement " that my extended warranty would be voided . And my experience is that their $59 annual "Check Up" that they sell is a front for their real purpose of the visit " to scare you into a large "needed " repair bill. I also suggest that you watch the tech do the work after my last "Maintenence shakedown " in 2014, my neighbor told me he watched the tech sit on my roof on his phone for 20 minutes without even touching the HVAC . Watch them! Their verbal promises are NOT reflected in their so called paperwork or fine print.

ORANGUTAN HOME SERVICES: FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD
These guys are rotten to the core! Bought 2 A/C units from them 2 years ago to the tune of
$14, 000. I bought there maintenance agreement AND the 12 year extended warranty. Just had them out to fix the A/C because it was blowing hot air. ORANGUTAN told me it was a condenser that was not covered under the warranty. How can this be when ORANGUTAN sold me the unit, the maintenance plan, AND the 12 year extended warranty. Their warranty isn't worth the paper it's printed on and they do NOT maintain anything. I got screwed. Attorney General's office complaint is next.

Orangutan Home Services is the most unethical HVAC company in Arizona. I paid these thieves $23, 315.35 for two central HVAC systems that included a 2 year maintenance plan. Everything that they told me about how well they were maintaining the systems was a lie. Two weeks after the maintenance plan expired the downstairs AC started blowing warm air, I called them, they came out, said it was a bad expansion valve and it would cost $891.00 to fix. I declined to have them do it and called another company to get a second opinion. After the other company inspected the unit they found that there were two disposable box filters inside the unit that had never been changed and had the dates written on the side of them that were 2 years ago, not only did they mot do any of the "maintenance" they outright lied about the need for repairs. I am 84 years old and I am going to file a complaint with the Arizona Attorney General against them for the financial exploitation of a vulnerable adult.
Furthermore, and in conclusion, it is my intention to run a newspaper ad seeking other vulnerable adults who have been defrauded by Orangutan Home Services to join a class of Plaintiffs filing suit under Arizona's RICO statutes.

They almost burnt my house down and my three year old A/C unit is shot, waiting to see if they are going to do the right thing, I guess we will find out tomorrow! Thank you to whoever is looking out for me up there and kept the fire contained!

Pretty sure this is an example of exactly how a subcontractor of home depot should not be responding to alleged customers complaining about business practices. That having been said, a checkup is where a provider comes and determines what services are needed on the item in question. Unless there were services stated when you purchased the checkups, it is SOP for most AC service companies to charge you for the analysis if only to cover their costs. Then, they offer you services which you can choose to purchase or not purchase. That is the way this service works throughout the country. Just my two cents.

Orangutan is a first rate rip-off. Very sad that Home Depot is connected with people of this low level of character. Hang in there and watch. A very close friend of mine is very close to one of the Home Depot founders. Got to have a chat with my friend and ask him to do me a favor and bring this to the attention of the person he knows. The 2 people I just mentioned are very solid Christian men and I am pretty confident that Home Depot will give Orangutan the boot. That is just the start. I think (I said "think") and to cover myself will say that this is an "opinion" but an informed one, that there will be criminal charges again a certain individual. Keep the situation in your prayers.

You know... these pathetic people at Orangutan suckered a 70 year old lady, my mother in law. They quoted her at 700 and then charged her 1700... for a small house. I am going to her house today to check their work, read their agreement, and bill. I am so pissed off that they would do this. 3 on your side... here we come!

THIS COMPANY IS AN ABSOLUTE JOKE! ITS PRETTY SAD WHEN JORDY TESSLER ANNOUNCES THAT HE IS GOING TO DO PAY CUTS ON ALL EMPLOYEES BECAUSE THE COMPANY ISNT BRINGING IN ENOUGH MONEY AND THEN IS FOUND IN THE TITTY BAR ALL AFTERNOON WITH JEFF LEADER! WHAT A GREAT OWNER TO TAKE FROM THE MOUTHS OF YOUR EMPLOYEES FAMILIES SO THAT YOU CAN SIT IN A TITTY BAR ALL AFTERNOON! WHAT A RESPECTABLE AND WHOLESOME COMPANY!

Orangutan Home Services For anybody reading this, this is a disgruntled employee or someone who is associated with one...unfortunetly, they have no reason nor merit to be posting stuff like this...it's juvenile, slanderous and the only reason i haven't blocked them or reported them as spam is so I can figure out who is posting this

Abby Welnick Not employee and only association with an employee was when they came in to my mothers home to check her a/c, and def not slander; simply the truth. If your company chooses to keep a good reputation then that reputation should be upheld in public esp. the one that they service.

same exact experience. Came to the house and did almost no maintenence. Then tried to get me to change both capacitors and coil cleaning for both systems. Then offered to do it for free if i got the $800, 4-year deal. felt very pressured as you most likely did. Thanks for posting
