Here is the chat document explaining what happened when I tried to get information about why I had not received my digital converter box.

These Insignia boxes are still on backorder.

We have a large shipment coming in on the 19th, and orders will go out starting the following day.

Will my order go out then? Please be specific
John:
Orders will be shipped in the order they were received. According to our calculation, assuming we receive the quantity on order (in cases manufacturers send less than ordered due to high demand) all current backorders will ship.

Completely unacceptable answer. You should know how many orders have been recieved ahead of me... my order was place on the 20th of Dec

Yes, we know exactly how many orders we have, and like I said, we have ordered enough to fill every order. What happens sometimes is that we do not receive the quantity we ordered due to high demand and sometimes delays in manufacturing.

So your manufacturer has not told you how many units are shipping. And if you know exactly how many orders you have ...you should also know how many people are ahead of me in the que How about getting a specific answer for me instead of talking in generalities?
John:
There are no generalities, these are the facts. We never know quantity until it arrives.
rod:
Then you obviously do not understand the meaning of the word "generalities" I am asking specific questions ...questions specific to my account ... How many orders do you have? And how many of them are ahead of me. This is info that you must look to find, , , , and it cannot be answered by another evasive answer.
rod:

John:
That is not something we can give out.
John:
If you do not want to wait, we can cancel your order and you will be free to order from another vendor.

That is not something you CHOSE to give out. Your statement is a perjoritive, Give me something specific.

You have already wasted 20 days
John:
We did not "waste" anything. When you placed your order you were given an ETA, ETA, again stands for "ESTIMATED" time of arrival - which of course can change as stated on our website. If you were uncomfortable with placing a backorder which has the potential to be a long wait, then you should not have placed your order.
John:
I will repeat as above: If you do not want to wait, we can cancel your order and you will be free to order from another vendor.
rod:
I will be glad to forward this to the FCC for you. Please take no action to cancel.
