Onida Microwave 20l Convection / Incompetent and lousy service
I purchased Onida Microwave (20L Convection) in Feb 2008. In May 2008, it developed some problem and microwave stopped functioning, though the convection and grill were working. I registered a complaint with their service center in Bangalore (ph [protected]) and they transferred the complaint to Jayanagar office. I was told to contact Mr Sridhar there. Why should i be told to contact some one to get the problem fixed. Isn't it there duty to fix it after i have lodged the complaint? Anyways, I tried contacting Mr. Sridhar on his cell no and was successful in reaching him hundreds of attempt. He told me that some engineer would visit the place and rectify the problem. The engineer came next week (and I was happy about it that i didn't have to follow up). He checked the microwave and told he'll come next day with some part which needs replacement. He never returned. After patiently waiting for more than a week, I contacted Mr. Sridhar again. This time I was told the part is not in the service center and will be coming next week. (Fair enough - i thought). Since then I have been contacting them and got the same answer - part is coming in 2 days. Then one day I was told that the engineer would come and replace it. I was given the engineers cell no also. I contacted the engineer who said, he'll be coming next day between 6 to 7 pm. I left my office early and waited for him to come - but he never came. Since then all my attempts to contact engineer or Mr. Sridhar are going in vain.
I have no idea how a company can survive with such a bad customer service. Its not about selling your product once, it's about establishing customer trust and faith in the company. After all this, I am sure, i am not going to purchase a single Onida item.
