I do not like writing a report of this nature, however, the person that I dealt with was totally rude and unwilling to help me. When I asked to speak with the owner he would not let me speak with him - it was his father, whom I have dealt with previously. He told me the only way I could get any help was to call U-Haul, which I did.
I had previously used their U hauls to bring our goods to events that we were having for Miranda Joy Foundation (Miranda was brutally shaken to death by her father when she was 4 months old). In the past we had picked up the truck on Friday and were told that since they close early on Saturday and were closed all day Sunday that they would only charge us for one day rental. That is what they did the two previous occasions. This time was different. We needed two trucks because we had gathered items for a yard sale that would not fit into one truck. I dealt with the same person, John, each time and asked immediately if he would honor the way we had rented in the past. He told me that we would only be charged for one day the same as they did previously.
When I received our statement today I realized that they had charged us double the amount we were charged before. When I called the office, John said he had looked up the previous time and we must have brought the truck back a day earlier, which we had not done. We had picked them up at the same time and brought them back at the same time. I asked if he could make the adjustment since he was the one who had promised the cost of one day rental. He told me he could not make an adjustment and when I asked to speak with his father, the owner, he informed me that he could not do anything either, I would have to call UHaul. I told him that I would write a bad review on his site and on this site and he said 'Go ahead'.
Please if you use this place get everything in writing. I called UHaul and they are refunding the overcharge but this should never have happened. Even if you have dealt with a company before be careful of their practices.
