Olive Garden / my daughter was served alcohol

1 Citrus Heights, CaliforniaCitrus Height, United States Review updated:

My 14 year old daughter was served wine tonight with her dinner
When I spoke with the manager about it I asked him to leave it alone until
I left the establishment with my family because I knew my oldest daughter would be upset with me what a fiasco the entire night was the waiter screwed up from the time we were seated until we left. I believe he was either not trained to be there or was just careless no matter what the reason my child should NOT have been served anything alcoholic.

Who ordered the wine? It sounds like you are making a huge deal out of a simple error.

@Wine Is Good I ordered the wine for her, but for myself. They asked for ID and since her older sister looks like her I gave her her older sister's ID. But her meal came with the wine and mine did not so I ordered the wine. For me because wine did not come with my meal and I had to pay extra so since it came with her meal I ordered it.

Because Olive Garden doesn't 'serve' wine. They ask you what kind you want, then they pour it in front of you.

You were there yet you allowed your daughter to order wine? You saw it being served yet didn't complain? No one carded her?? What did the manager say when you complained? Your oldest daughter would have are a fuss so you left it alone?

    Put down the crack pipe.

@SubSquirrel I ordered it for her, but for me instead since it comes with her meal and not mine. They asked for ID and I showed her her older sister's ID. They look alike. Once I told them what happened they confiscated her older sister's ID and not my older daughter will be angry at me. It was her driver's license.

@SubSquirrel The reason I ordered the wine for her was because my meal does not come with free wine, I would have to pay extra for it. Hers does. But I ordered it for myself.

Why not show them your ID and explain that you’re too cheap to buy your own wine? That would be okay with most servers. But to complain that they served her at 14 but the ID you chose to show them was someone else’s was wrong. I believe you broke the law. You entrapped them into serving your child . They’ll probably call the police but your daughter will be angry? Wasn’t she there with you?

What a sad place to be in life making fun of a mom being concerned about her daughter really I wrote on here looking for some support from other parents not comments by a bunch of clowns I would never give my child alcohol at 14 and then laugh about it I’m done on this site you all need some professional help...

I agree. Some of us don’t agree with what you did but you’re not describing your daughter. If she looks older and was with her parents ... You didn’t specify parents-only could answer and this is a public forum. Yours posting under various nicknames so we’re skeptical

If YOU weren't drunk, you could have been watching your daughter instead of getting the staff to watch her. That's all on you and I don't feel one ounce of sympathy for you or your daughter. Go cry me a river, build a bridge, and get the [censor] over it. And then you have the nerve to come on here and complain. You are the very definition of ignorant!

Well her daughter is too young to do meth or drink vodka. You know what they say, there is a time and place for everything, it's called college.

@First Born Triplet So basically she has to be in college before she can get high on meth, or drunk on vodka or wine. To the OP, that posted this, it was probably non alcoholic wine.

I don't get the post though.

    1. What do you mean by

When I spoke with the manager about it I asked him to leave it alone until
I left the establishment with my family because I knew my oldest daughter would be upset with me

Why would your oldest daughter be upset with you?

You asked them to give your daughter the wine since it came free with her dinner. You made her use a fake ID because you are too cheap to order a glass of wine and you have audacity to get pissy with Olive Garden for doing exactly as you wanted them to? What the [censor] is wrong with you? Why didn't you just order her meal so you could get the free wine and then she could of ordered your meal and then when the food came, you could of switched plates with her. You started an enormous amount of stupid all over a freebie.

@ShanaAdams7780 Or she could have just taken the wine instead from her daughter. But your suggestion is good as well.

I am thinking her child already probably DOES drink to deal with her mother's nonsense

@ShanaAdams7780 😆. She tried to screw the system but got angry when admitting they did what she asked. Next time she should drop ten bucks and not put her children in a position to lie so she can steal.

Well if she wants to hide the wine from he mother hiding them under the bed won't work. It does not work for porno magazines and it won't work for alcohol.

Well if she wants to hide the wine from her mother, hiding it under the mattress won't work. It did not work for my playboy magazines and it certainly won't work for the wine.

Let me clear this up to all that doubted me not only as a parent but a person. I came on this site for some support and clarity I have never given my 14yr old daughter wine or anything else. Her and her sister were playing a stupid stunt to see if she would be served how ever I didn’t know about this until after the fact and it was too late. So yes I was furious that she was served No I didn’t order the wine I don’t even care for that drink & yes I was upset with the manager I wanted him to deal with this after we left because my oldest didn’t want me to say anything in fear he would loose his job as well he should but as for you people on this site you need a life and stop stepping on others for your own gratification
I think most of you that posted on this site that nite are truly sick in the head ive spoke my peace thanks never coming back on this board so good luck in harassing the next fool looking for support here...

@Falk. No one is harassing you. They are just not falling for your story because you keep changing it. No one is sick. You admitted to purchasing the wine for your daughter because it came with her meal and not your using your older daughter's ID,

Just get a fake ID for her, like everyone else does when they want to get polluted. Then you do not need to use her sister's ID.

@Fine Young Aiden 2005 I am sure that her daughter feels the need to get polluted a lot to drown out her mother's crazy behavior.
