Olive Garden poor service

Re: Amarillo, Texas location
Date of dining: 02/14/17

To Whom It May Concern:

Please let this letter serve as a consumer complaint from a very dissatisfied customer.

Last night, Valentine’s Day, my family and I chose to dine at Olive Garden in Amarillo, Texas. There were seven (7) of us in the family. Several things happened that have caused us to determine that we will never eat at an Olive Garden restaurant again. The following is an outline:

1. After we ordered, our server came to the table with a large tray full of bread plates, salad plates, cheese, and the large bowl of salad. As she was taking the bread plates and salad plates off the tray altogether (instead of making two or more stacks), she dropped all the plates on the floor breaking many of the plates and tipping the salad bowl over on the tray. Instead of getting a fresh salad bowl, she simply left the salad that spilled on the tray and gave us what was remaining in the bowl. She did, however, get us fresh plates.

2. We were all served our drinks initially; however, when our server did not come back to refill our drinks, I poured some of my tea into an empty wine glass on our table to that my daughter could have a drink. The server promptly came over to our table, informed us that “we could not do that” and started grabbing the wine glass as my daughter was taking a drink. My daughter, who is 21 years old, informed the server of her age thinking the server thought she was underage and told the server that it was tea in the glass not alcohol. The server physically took the glass out of my daughter’s hand as she had the glass to her lips and said “we cannot put anything but alcohol in the wine glasses.” This is totally unacceptable on the server’s part. If that is, in fact, a “rule” that Olive Garden has, then the server should have taken all the empty wine glasses off the table since we did not order any wine or any other alcoholic beverage.

3. Once we got our food orders, we found the pasta dishes to be very dry (i.e., having very little sauce). For the price of the food items at Olive Garden, there should be no skimping on the sauce to the point that we had a hard time telling if there was any sauce and the past was literally sticking together in clumps.

4. My father, an Army Veteran, asked our server if Olive Garden offered Military discounts. She said she didn’t know, said she would check, and never came back with an answer.

5. By the time we were ready for the check, we had to ask our server for it. She brought it to us and never returned. In fact, we had to ask another server passing by for 1 take-out box for the chicken parmigiana dish my father had. We waited at least 15 minutes for our server to come back to pay her. When we realized she wasn’t, we paid for the meal at the table on the kiosk and left.

All in all, the experience at Olive Garden last night was extremely disappointing and the food unsatisfactory. In the past, Olive Garden was a place where we would go to celebrate family birthdays and other special occasions. We have determined that we will find another restaurant for those events.

Olive Garden placing walk-in dinner orders ahead of carry-out orders to maximize profit.

Today, February 14, 2017, I ordered a carry-out from the Olive Garden store #1051 in Fort Myers Florida. The order was placed over the phone and I arrived later to pick up the food. I paid for the order at 5:19 PM and noted a long line for pick up orders yet the person taking the order said to arrive within fifteen minutes. It was clear after a half hour wait that there were problems completing carry out dinners and I asked to speak with the manager Mr. Mann. The manager’s response was that he could do nothing. I saw a ratio of twenty dine in orders for every one carry out order leave the kitchen. My order # 19142 was out from the kitchen at 6:29 PM a wait of one hour and ten minutes.

Olive Garden store #1051 chose to provide far better service for the higher profit sit down diners that may order appetizers and drinks then the less profitable carry out diners that order only meals. The final cost is that I waited longer for a meal and that I am serving Olive Garden this complaint report as my desert.

Olive Garden customer service

Let me start off by saying that this isn't the first time I've gotten bad service at this particular Olive Garden. The last time I went we were waiting for a while but that I understand. They sat us in the bar area because there wasn't space anywhere else. Then when our waiter comes around looking flustered and annoyed that he has to serve people. He took our order and when he brought us our salad/bread sticks he slams our plates down! Our food finally came and around 10 minutes pass and we needed refills on our drinks/salad/breadsticks and he is nowhere to be found. We had to flag someone down to get our refills. This second time around, my boyfriend and I visited the store on Sunday, 2/12/17 around 6pm as soon as we walk into the door the hostess takes one look at us and seems disgusted. I don't remember her name but she had dark hair with a braid to the side and red lipstick. I felt judged and discriminated against. Its like she took one look at us and figured that we were poor or that maybe we wouldn't tip much. If I couldnt afford to go out then why would I be there in the first place? The waiting time was only like 10 minutes and we finally got seated. She had a smirk on her face the whole time as she sat us in the middle where anyone and everyone will walk by and bump into us.(Which they did but I will get to that later) The waitress comes around and she took our order and we were waiting for 13 minutes before our drinks even arrived. Then I looked around and saw the same waitress bringing the soup/salad to two tables that were seated after us when we haven't even received ours yet. We finally got the salad but while she was talking to the table next to us she tries to hand me the breadsticks and salad to put on the table myself. I wish I could remember her name but she had no care or interest to serve us. We finally got our food and we were okay but when it came to getting more salad and breadsticks it was like I was asking her for so much. My boyfriend and I ordered the unlimited classics and we were satisfied with our first plates but when we asked for a refill (just one) on our Chicken Alfredo they were brought back in small bowls with hardly any chicken on them. It got to the point where the salad bowls had only enough for two servings and she was only bringing is two breadsticks. The portions were definitely getting smaller. I was getting frustrated because waiters were going by picking up tables and because we were sat right in the center the waiters on several occasions would hold the empty dishes and plates over my head as they walked by. I wish I would have complained but at the same time the crew seems like they would have covered up for each other. I dont understand why a business like Olive Garden would let their employees discriminate against customers and make them feel uncomfortable when in the end we are your business! I work in the food industry myself and I am the manager in my store. I would never let anything like that slide on my watch. Even on my worst days I never let it show. People ask why I am so happy all time when they come in and I always get compliments on how my customer service is always great. There are no excuses on why my boyfriend and I were mistreated.

Olive Garden bad service from waiter and manager

2/14/17 It was a busy valentines night and my husband and I were lucky that we didn't really had to wait very long cause we called ahead and we ended up getting a table in the bar area which was fine. We ordered our drinks and appetizer. While a waitress was cleaning up a booth beside us somehow a drink fell and splattered all over the floor and ME! The waitress and waiter were very nice and asking if I was ok, which I was but I was drenched! What infuriates me is the manager didn't even come over and check on me. I had to sit thru the whole dinner wet and didn't get offered anything for my troubles. Not a happy person right now!

Olive Garden toscana soup and my server alex

Went to eat with a friend. Pre valentine's friend lunch. We eat at olive garden every week. Went to your arlington texas location. #1368.. 4604 s. Cooper street arlington texas 76017... Ordered the tuscana soup and salad.. Once our food was served our server never once came to our table to see if we needed refills on drink or soup.. We just stopped him ever time he walked by to ask for what we wanted.. When we got seconds on the soup it wasn't white and creamy but deep brown and ugly.. I asked him why the soup was different, he said its the same just a different batch. I told him I have eaten this soup for years and never seen it brown. He said its the same, just a different batch. And walked away. Stopped eating at that point.. He brought a paper bill in the black book I put my debit card in there and we sat forever waiting for him to get our payment. He finally walked by us again so we stopped him and told him we were ready to pay.. He picked up the electronic payment kiosk tossed it at us and walked away.. Never to return.. No words spoken.. No thank you for coming.. No you can pay here.. No would you like dessert.. No would you like wine with dinner.. No conversation. Rudest waiter I have ever seen.. Will start going somewhere else each week.

Olive Garden environment, staff presentation

Wednesday, February 8 of 2017 travelling through Virginia - frightened by the more than 6 foot tall nearly bald man wearing a blue chef Olive Garden coat - apparently working for the Olive Garden. Man dressed as woman wearing heavy dangling ear rings enters LADIES rest room. Never going to stop there again. Blatantly obvious male dressed as woman. Unacceptable in a family restaurant.

Olive Garden over all services

My daughter entered the restaurant first, followed by two of her friends and parked the car. When I came in she said there was a twenty minute wait. I said we'll wait. Then went to restroom. When I came out Two minutes later, I told we would be seated. As we were escorted to our table in the back, I noticed that the restaurant was only about 20% full. Now we must have looked like tough crowd because we had just been standing in the rain and snow waiting for the Patriots team to pass where we were standing for over 3 hours. The service was very good but the food was subpar. The soup tasted off as did the meat sauce. I live in western Mass and more than likely will never visit this place again. I was just put off by the fact that we were told we would have to wait 20 minutes for a restaurant that was only 20% full. I left a $15.00 tip for a $60.00 bill. Semper Fi thank you

Olive Garden hot plates

I had dinner in the West Mifflin OG on Saturday 2/4 with my friends The server handed me my plate from the end of the table and without saying be careful the plate is hot, I took the plate and burned both index fingers. I immediately put them in my ice water glass. The manager did come over later and asked if he should file an accident report, I declined, then he asked if he could get anything else "how about of shot of whiskey". (How Crude) Not ever suggesting comp my meal. The OG is my favorite place to eat. The stuffed chicken marsala was very good, but the mashed potatoes were hard and very dry. I know I will never return to that particular Olive Garden in West Mifflin.

Also, I request for the wi-fi and they said that the wi-fi was only for the register not for the use of the guess.

Olive Garden olive garden discrimination hiring and firing practices

It 's sad that the discriminatory hiring and firing practices have migrated from Darden's Bahama Breeze and Capital Grille now to Olive Garden. I would hope they would change their practices regarding filtering out older employees. Sad. Older workers systematically fired says a lot about a companies values which they claim they hold so high. No Love in Olive Garden.

Olive Garden quality of food and service

I have complained twice already about the service I had at an olive garden about 1.5 months ago without any response and I am very disappointed . My food was not by any means fresh and came out cold and you could definitely tell it was old . After waiting over an hour I expected to get fresh food. Not only that, but we had to wait about 15 minutes to get more breadsticks every time we asked . The restaurant was not crowded at all and our service was still bad . I'm very disappointed that I still haven't heard back from anypne .

Olive Garden unprofessional workers

My Name is Elizabeth Shoulders, I dined in your location in Merrillville IN on 1/29/2017 at 20:39:17. My finance and myself choose to celebrate our birthdays there. It brings great sadness to my heart we almost choose Coopers Hawk instead during our visit there we encountered unpleasant behavior. While entering the establishment walking to the host stand the host greets us and we are having a conversation a server by the name of Kelly cuts us off and asks the host why she wasn't phased to go home yet. The host replies first in first out and she then got upset throughout the evening walking past our table she complained over 4 times how she wanted to go home already talking to another server telling him that she wasn't suppose to be there either. It just bring concerns and negatative thoughts about the restaurant. We noticed her uniform was unclean and we felt uncomfortable. My finance and I decided we were just going to leave we felt unwelcome as we were getting up from the table our server by the name Taylor was very pleasant we went as far to ask her if she was our server as we were greeted she stated indeed was and we sat back out. Taylor took our order and is a asset to your company however I will NOT be back I spent almost $60 for complete drama. Servers we standing around counting there money for the night to go home right next to our table having full conversation and all. I really gave this company a higher rating then I thought it actually upholds.thank you for taking the time out to listen. We also didn't let a manger know while dining in we were unhappy we didn't want to seem like we were a bother my finance and myself both work in the hospilitatly industry being a server and a kitchen manager. I really hope you take the time out to properly groom your employees.

Olive Garden horrible customer service if ordering unlimited soup & salad

Olive Garden has the great deal of unlimited soup & salad, but every time I go, I always feel like I'm limited to a certain amount of soups. Whenever I ask the waiter for more soup, they always seem to get frustrated. I guess it's because the price is $7.99 and they're not getting as much tip as if I would order an entree. I come here especially for the Zuppa Toscana and the salad. All the Olive Gardens that I have gone to to get this unlimited soup and salad, I've always had bad experiences. The waiters always gives me the check right away after my third soup. I feel as if they want me to leave as soon as possible. I went to the Olive Garden today at Garden City and when I asked for more soup, the waiter actually told me that I have him "going back and forth for soup." Why would Olive Garden have this deal if the people who work there hate bringing customers unlimited soup and salad and make it so uncomfortable? It sucks because I love coming here for the soup and salad but I always feel unwelcomed and horrible asking for more soup.
