O’Charleys by far the worst dinner I’ve ever had!
Last Sunday, June 17 I wanted to take my husband out to dinner for father’s day. I had worked all day and wanted to do something special for him and spend time with my family. We decided on O’Charley’s in Decatur Illinos because I have never been there. When we walked in we were surprised to be seated right away..I now know why. Our waitress took our order and told us she’d bring rolls out to us. She finally did 15 minutes later. We sat there for about an hour, empty drinks and empty roll basket. I over heard the only other table she had complaining about there food and the service, we should’ve left then. When we got our appetizer the chicken tenders were burnt, we overlooked it and ate the rest. But then another waitress finally broug us our food. My husband’s prime rib was supposed to be medium rare, it was well done. Not only that but it was tough and cold. The mashed potatoes were cold and hard also. My shrimp was cold and the scampi sauce lumpy. My steak was so tough I couldn’t chew it. I found a hard rock or metal piece in my cold mashed potatoes and my fries were cold and soggy. Meanwhile our waitress stood at the bar and talked to her friends. She had two tables and couldn’t even get our food from the heat lamp for an hour! This was the first time we didn’t finish our meal, we didn’t even want it..it was that disqusting.
We paid $20 each a meal for four of us, plus an appitizer, and we couldn’t even eat anything. We were planning on getting dessert also. We left hungrythen and basically threw $100 in thethe trash, litteraly. This restaurant ruined not only our meal and money, but Father’s Day for my family. We will never be returning, and will tell our family and friends to do the same.

Tasha does have a point, a friend of mine. Her father just died recently. This was the first Father's Day without her father. Then another person in my state the eleven year old went and bought his father gifts from Father's Day from all the allowance he saved up. An older youth saw this and killed the child for the remaining money and returned the gift and card to get a refund, all totaling about $30. Father's Day is about spending time with the children, and these father's who lost their children, the holiday is ruined for them, not for you because you did not get your food correct. Also Ian may be 12 years old but right now you are acting like a child same for your husband if he told your son he ruined Father's Day by not finishing his meal.(well neither did you). Yeah you did not need to leave the waitress a cash tip reward, however you did not need to be overly rude either. I am sure your husband would be just as happy spending time with his children playing board games and watching silly childish cartoons with them. Your experience was unpleasant but for you and your husband to tell your son that he ruined Father's Day is just wrong.
I thought this site was for posting complaints not for bunch of smart aleck 12 year old's to post their comments.
Toyofafan123, Did you even read this review. Where did it say I talked to a manager. I never talked to a manager. It was almost time for my children to go to bed and we wanted to get out of there fast. If we had to wait for a manager that would take another ten or 15 minutes.
Tasha8, my children do not know that brung is not a word, they are two and three and eight years old. This did too ruin Father's Day because my husband wanted to have a good time with our family, instead this lead him getting into an argument with myself and my eight year old son. He ridiculed me for picking such a restaurant and my son for finishing his food.(We told him not to because we wanted to make a complaint about how awful it was.) Anyways in the long run my husband ended up telling my eight year old that he ruined father's day by not following orders and he will remember this until he dies. Sure he apologized later when he calmed down but the damage is already done and he already hurt my son's feelings.

Why should we have asked nicely for or food to be remade. They should not be making mistakes and they should be fired. If they made a mistake I have every right to yell and swear at them because it is my money that is being spent. Needless to say I gave the waitress a tip. I wrote on a piece of paper that their service sucks and that she should stop flirting with her friends and actually do her job, and told her she dresses like a tramp and only 50 year old men would give her tips.(She must have been 17 but dressed like she was 8.
Why did you not ask for them to remake your food all the time. Our family does it all the time. But they do it nicely.
