Obey Your Body / Genome Cosmetics Sales woman at schipol airport

Hi, good afternoon.. i am absolutely disgusted at a sales woman at schipol airport who littlerly talked her way into me spending 180 euros on creams that i said i didnt want on the 7th of june. She smooth talked her way to it and grabbed my hand to put exfoliating scrub on my hand to then creams and kept adding things on..i was in a rush for my flight..she told me the cream was around 60 euros so then i agreed as yes maybe i should treat myself to an expensive face cream to then say she was adding in something else which makes the cream free...i was lost...i was rushed and she spoke too fast and i took out my card to pay to then realise i paid 180 euros! I felt mortified and nervous to ask for a refund straight away and again i was in a rush for my flight..ihave tried the creams on my face and i am not satisfied in any way possible for me being humiliated and costing 180 euros on what i could not even afford.. i am absolutely disgusted!

Desired outcome: Please refund

Obey Your Body / Genome Cosmetics Obey Your Body scam at CPT airport

On 10 July 2021 I bought an Obey Your Body product from Cape Town International airport in the domestic departures section. Vanessa, the Obey Your Body consultant assured me that I would get the same discounted price and free shipping anywhere in the world on an on-going basis. All I needed was the receipt and they would upload my details into "the system". There is no system and the email addresses and phone numbers on the contact card do not exist. After numerous WhatsApp messages with Vanessa, she is yet to resolve this, won't provide details of her company/ manager, and has stopped answering my attempts to get clarity.

Desired outcome: Cape Town airport needs ensure that vendors are legitimate - I would like to see this operation close.

Obey Your Body / Genome Cosmetics Eye serum

As I was leaving Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam, I was stopped by a stand selling Obey Your Body products

Several were tried on me, including a serum which was centre to the combined offer at x price. The serum retailed at over €600

Also tried were an eye cream and exfoliating rub/serum. The serum was always centre of what I was being offered, with other products on top for ‘free'. Eventually I settled on the serum, eye cream and hand/nail gift box set. Total was €250

There was no breakdown/receipt other than the card machine.

Upon using the serum I noticed this wasn't the same as what was tried on me, and shown online. In fact it was an inferior eye serum retailing for under €100. The whole package probably cost close to double what I would pay online

The guy was super nice, tried everything and a great seller, but in was super into thinking I had a much higher value product, as shown and tried, than I actually received.

I'm not sure how legitimate this stand was, seems strange to not have any retail prices or itemised receipt? I'd like to see if it's still there. I've already messaged the company directly regarding this

If anyone else has had the same experience I'd like to know!

Dear Suzanne,

First of all we would like to apologize for your experience at the oficily licensed point of sale at Schiphol Airport. Due to the current situation there have been changes in the operating hours in both points of sale and call centers world wide. The kiosk does indeed still operate and has done so for a number of years.

With regards to the Instant Eye Wrinkle Eraser, this product has been recently updated and this is why it looks different to what is shown online. We would be happy to send you the one as shown and a gift for the inconvenience.

If you have further questions don't hesitate to call or e-mail Shlomi directly at [protected] or shlomi@obeyyourbody.com.

Kind Regards,

ObeyYourBody Customer Service

I purchased this item at Newcastle airport UK Dec 4th 08:50 2019. when I was returning to vancouver canada via AMSTERDAM.

The item has no connection from the lid to pump the product!
It is a reject and being sold at an airport at massive mark up to folks who mostly will not return soon to complain .

Obey Your Body / Genome Cosmetics mineraux bought off a rep at liverpool airport.

Approached at liverpool airport, the guy was very pushy and made me feel like i had to make a purchase. The product has done nothing and feel that they shouldn't be allowed to treat people this way, my poor grandson missed out on food at the airport because this guy had us there about an hour so we was too late. If people want to purchase or ask for advice great but you shouldn't approach people the way i was it was rude and not professional. I look forward to your reply.
Kind regards
Shirley

Obey Your Body / Genome Cosmetics obey your body instant eye wrinkle eraser

When coming through Cape Town airport, I was approached by a very pretty spanish saleslady, she said that for today only we have a great deal 50% of the original price and proceeded to apply some of the cream under my eyes, said it is a years supply and I will be very happy with the result, well the eye cream is in a syringe and only has 13g in it, plus the tube was half empty and I have used it 5 x so far and not noticed any difference. I also purchased a face peel so together it cost me R3700. I think this is definitely overpriced and feel I was conned by giving me false information. Be ware anybody that purchases from "Obey Your Body! "

Obey Your Body / Genome Cosmetics unethical, manipulative behaviour and fraud

I was at Cape Town International Airport on my way to gate A 10 to board my flight to Johannesburg when I was approached by your sales person. He offered to give me a hand cream sample and then asked me to sit down so that he could apply a instant eye wrinkle remover and then an age defying lifting serum. I was impressed with the product after he showed the result in the mirror, but I was under the impression I was paying R500 (+/- NZ$50) for the products when in fact it was R5000! I would never have bought it if I knew the correct price! I only realised this when I arrived in Johannesburg and checked my bank account so I obviously could not return the products to the stand as I am on my way back to Auckland. I am extremely disappointed and feel robbed. He also did not give me a receipt but in fact distracted me by writing down his email address on the back of a voucher. To make matters worse, I have found numerous complaints online with exactly the same stories of fraud and corruption.

The two products are still unopened and I would like a full refund. I have also contacted Cape Town International Airport in this regard. The name on the voucher is Robin and the email address he gave me is [protected]@gmail.com.

Please reply as soon as possible so that we can resolve this matter.

Yours sincerely,

Lizelle Koen

Check out my posts about Gold Elements and Oro Gold. Obey Your Body is a sister company to Gold Elements (under Premier Cosmetics). These salesclerks are scam artists, shysters. We need to work together to get our money back. I have been fighting for a refund since September 3, 2018.

Obey Your Body / Genome Cosmetics peeling gel/ face cream

I was at Vienna airport on my way home to London. A very pleasant appearing salesman called Adam from Obey Your Body flatters me, sticks a sample in my hand and starts chatting. He tells me he owns the shop and that they recently set up store in Vienna and had one store in New York if I recall. A minute later he literally holds my hands and sits me in the shop and applies the peeling gel and then cream. He was very pushy and forceful and kept pushing me to buy his products and tells me he was selling at a 60% discount. He somehow made me feel guilty that I was reluctant to buy these products, let alone for €140! He kept telling me I had money as a doctor and should buy these products. I regret not being firm and walking away as I did not want these products. I now realise Adam Masgar is unlikely to be the owner and this pushy sales technique is well known in this company. Its unacceptable and totally unnecessary to have such aggresive sales tactics and I feel I was conned into buying products I didnt want!

Obey Your Body / Genome Cosmetics sales people

I was at vienna airport and i was pretty much talked into buying stuff.
She wouldnt stop and let me go so i bought some stuff and still i missed my flight
Since i had to buy new tickets i had to use a lot of money. Also i wasnt liking the product so much either. Body parts where the sale rep put products on to test were very dry.
So i went back the same day, demanded refund, she refused. Because apparently she cant make the refund and i should come back tomorrow. So i went back the next day, and there were 2 other sales reps. One of them was extremely rude to me. She didnt swear or anything but she was very disrespectful and ignorant the whole time and hintibg and gesturing to the other sales rep, who seemed to try to help me, not to do so.
I should call the office they said but the number was unregistered and the email adress seemed pretty bogus.
The "manager" wasnt there either and they didnt really try very hard to help me. And the rude one said i should have come back the same day if i wanted a refund.
Long story short i had to run around, go over the border and back to get all the information they needed but they still didnt make it to give me a refund and now im stuck with products i dont want and now i payed for them and an extra flight because of your pyramid-scheme-like approach.
Thanks

But I don't receive any money back to my account. I've contacted manager called Alex several times but he stopped replying my mails and branch not answering my calls. I have all emails between me and the manager. Can you help please?

This company's responses are consistently rude and poorly written. I am still amazed that such a corporation is allowed to operate without consumer protection oversight in the United States. The salesclerks are guilty of fraudulently misrepresenting products and contracts, defrauding consumers of millions of dollars each year. Contact the Department of Consumer Protection in the state where you were scammed and file a complaint with that agency. Initiate a claim against the company in small claims court. These heinous business practices (and the companies associated with them) need to be stopped. There should be no place for them anywhere.

Obey Your Body / Genome Cosmetics purifying gel peel mineraux collection

Bought (pressured into) at a kiosk at palisades mall in new york – used it and it really irritated my skin, the gunk stuck to the fuzz on my face like bubble gum and wouldn't come off even with scrubbing – totally gross.

Went back next day to return product and two others –moisturing day cream and toner. Sales girl refused (nicely) would only provide credit. Told her I wanted my money back, she called her boss (I honestly think she pretended to call him) and said so sorry, no refunds. If product is so great, should stand behind it and provide a refund. I am no stuck with it and out $119. Buyer beware!

My 14 year old son was taken advantage of by a salesperson at an Obey Your Body Kiosk in Aurora IL yesterday. They have a $75.99 price on a cologne that you can get for $11.99 at Target. He asked my 14 year old son what he would pay for it after he sprayed him with it and my son said $30. He paid $33.00. I informed my son that no upright business in the mall would say "What do you want to pay for it" and that he got ripped off. Ridiculous that you are preying on innocent children, my god have you no dignity. Below is exactly what he bought that your company put a $75.99 sticker price. I will be contacting the mall about your illegal practices.

Obey Your Body / Genome Cosmetics Unauthorized credit card charge, con artist

At approximately 11:50 today at Cape Town international airport walking to Gate A 10 I passed the Obey your Body stall and was approached by a salesperson, who identified himself as Israeli, giving me a free sample of hand cream. Since the flight had not yet started boarding I allowed him to apply the cream to my hand. "I will give you more free samples" he said and soon I was sitting on his stall chair getting different products applied to my face. I liked the tightening product which he was selling for R950 each for face and eyes and said I would buy that. But he kept adding products to my bag. I simply refused to pay for more products and he said he would give them to me for free if I would show them to my friends and help market them. The flight now started boarding and I gave him my credit card to pay for the two products, R1900 in all. I looked at the amount without my glasses on and saw only the 19 and some zeroes, believing it to be R1900. On the plane an sms came from my bank showing the amount to be R19 000.00! This guy cheated me! He presented me with the receipt upside down and asked me to write down my name and number so he could alert me to new products. So I dont even have the receipts. I now see on the Web dozens of complaints about this Israeli guy named Oz. I am now going to the police and write to the Cape Town Airports company to revoke his license to have a stall at the airport. He is a con artist and scammer. I am prepared to pay for the two products I bought but I want the R17 100 remainder back.

Thank you for responding, although I think a month's response time is not good.

The matter has been resolved, The South African organisation refunded me.

I suggest in light of the several similar complaints on your site that you put in place a mechanism, potentially contractual, to blacklist any agents selling your products displaying the behaviour being complained about. It certainly does your product range harm, and as a responsible corporate body you cannot claim not to have responsibility for your agents

Obey Your Body / Genome Cosmetics Obey your body - bait and switch, sales representatives

Charming, extremely playful greedy scammers pull you over as you get of the elevator in Bay Plaza Mall. Mike the manager said the product was only $69 and he would throw in all this extra free stuff as if it was by one get one free kind of deal. Then he ran my credit card for US$381 and then another US$108.00. Without showing me what the amount was. After 40 minutes of debates he refused to refund without me signing for $500 worth of Epsum Salt. I was upset with private vendors in a mall to receive such unethical behavior, business practices.

My experience exactly! I stopped at a kiosk at the Capetown airport in SA because the girls were sweet and applied the eye cream while I was waiting for my flight. I agreed to purchase some products, but the manager who rang up the transaction and fraudulently added a extra "0" to the exchange rate which debited my checking account an additional $1, 460 over the proper amount. Of course, I didn't realize it until I was back in the U.S.A. and found my checking account was overdrawn. I wrote to the corporate offices in Spain but no cooperation. Apparently this is a common practice. I tell everyone I know about my experience so they may beware. Their products are good, but are tarnished by the immorality of their sales practices. Too bad. Shop elsewhere! There are plenty of good quality skincare products from reputable manufacturers.

Obey Your Body / Genome Cosmetics Obey your body vienna airport

Dear Sir/Madam,

This purchase left me with feeling stupid, cheated and vulnerable.

I was flying from Vienna airport on 26.11.20116 to Heathrow, my fly was at 18.33 pm. Terminal 1, the time of purchase 4.46pm. Purchased Peeling Gel for 70 euros.

As I was passing through shops to my gate. There was a charming man standing in front of a shop, what caught my eye was a name of a shop Organic, so I did not mind to stop by to see what they have to offer.

The boy with a name Bar Nerya A. I know he was from Israel as I asked him, and I think a product I purchased is from Israel too, was standing in front of a shop holding a cream in his hands offering me to come to him that he had something for free for me. I did not mind having a chat with him as I was at the airport an hour earlier.
Anyway, he seemed charming and harmless, he was showing me first a product he was holding in his hands, then he offered me to show me his skin products.
He seated me on a seat and showed me a pealing and facial skin product and told me what sort of facial complexion I have .
First he explained the difference between the products on my wrists with a pealing and the cream on the top of it and on the other wrist without the pealing but only the cream and what difference it makes. I could clearly see that without pealing on the other wrist the facial cream does not get absorbed. Than I asked what it contains so we briefly discussed that. Anyway, I asked about the price it was 140 euro for one product pealing and the other cream was supposed to be free as it was Black Friday.

I was thinking loud that I had to think about it as it was quite a lot to me, without knowing if that product was good for me. He asked me how much time I have before my fly as I said that I go away and think about it and then come back. He then said. I have one free student voucher which I can use. So you do not need to pay 140 euros but 70 euros instead. It was still too much for me. But I spontaneously said yes, I will buy it. What he did then he started asking me if I had presents for my family, and took me away to show me a nail products in a box which contained nail polish and nail cream. I felt awkward and said that I do not need to buy that. Only then I started feeling uncomfortable, and alarm bells started ringing. He felt manipulative, cheeky, dishonest person. But I already paid for my purchased and anyway, I was still not on my guard. I let him get away with his manipulation. He gave me a "student discount" without giving me additional cream which was supposed to be for free because of Black Friday. He was also charming in a way that he will give me a discount if I smile and tell other people about a product. My alarm bells did not go off as I really thought he was genuine.

Only when I went throught the passport control I did realise that I was cheated in such an expensive shop in Vienna Airpot which I would never dream that such and expansive company would risk to loos they name, reputation in a way to cheat people in buying they products and employ such people and train them in this way. Of course, I live in Uk so I might be used to different customer service than they use in Vienna.

When I look at the facial pealing for 70 euros I feel sick in my stomach. I feel like is there anybody who could answer my questions. Why does such a company feel ok to cheat people to buy their stuff in this way? They do not care about they customers to come back ? They do not care for they customers to appreciate they product for that price and let them decide if it is worth it to buy it anyway because it is really that good that one is willing to treat herself and buy it anyway? Does not this company have any ethical values? Is this ok for them to get away with such behaviour? Are they feeling ok about me feeling cheated and manipulated? How is this possible?

Who ever read this. I would love the answers to my questions as I am really not used to be treated in shops like this.

I am looking forward to your answer as soon as possible.

Yours sincere,

Zuzana Stefkova

Obey Your Body / Genome Cosmetics Gel peel

Good day,

Ozzy samuel is the merchant that sold obey your body products to me on 15 december 2015. I returned the products on the same day as I was not happy with the purchase. The sale would not go through with the budget option as the purchase was only for r2800 and my bank only allows for the budget option to be used for purchases exceeding r5000.

I spoke to ozzy about this and he said that he would send the products to the lab (He explained that this is company policy as these are medicinal products) and that it would take 21 business days (From 15 dec) to get a refund. I agreed and waited patiently to hear from him.

I made contact with your head office and they assured me that this matter would be addressed. I still do not know what is happening and what the status update is. Please could you let me know when I can expect my refund.

Ozzy has since blocked me on whatsapp, and I cannot get hold of anyone.

Please look into this, or else I would be forced to take legal action.

On 06.01.2015 I was manipulatively and pressured into buying R52968.00 worth of Obey your body and other brand names products at the store in Menlyn Shopping Centre, with the promise of free facials and refill of products on returning with the empty containers/bottles for on one sale 24 months and the other one 36 months as from January 2015 thus making it a supply of products over 3 years. On 13.10.2015 I went for a facial and were once again convinced to buy a "gift card" value R2100.00 for use as I see fit. Exp date: 12.10.2016 not being used as to date.
In July 2016 I went to Menlyn Centre to collect refills on my products just to
find that the Obey your Body shop was closed. On inquiry at the centre I found them on the fouth floor now trading as Forever Flawless! I went there and saw a salesperson there that I have met before at Obey your body shop on the 3rd floor and asked for my refills and redeem my "gift card" just to be told that they not allowed to give it to me anymore - new company policy! After I have made my disappointment and unfairness of the situation known he gave me the contact number of the person that handles the stock of their shops. I contacted her by email putting to her my problem and request the contact details of their head office/sales person/manager and help with it. According to the records that she could come up with there was no record of my buying the big sum of products from them. I also battle from the beginning to get information about the company from employees as every time I've been to their shop there was new people there and nobody could give or want to give you any information about management. Up to date I have not received any positive answer from any of them. It seems as if these people change names from time to time and move from shop to shop to avoid delivery on their promises!
I would like to see them refund me for the remainder of products not supplied to me as well as the R2100.00 gift voucher not redeemed.
Please see to it that other honest, trusting people don't also get conned by these "nice, friendly" people.

Dear Martie,
We regret to hear about this incident.
It seems your complaint should be for “SoapStories”, not ObeyYourBody, because it is important to mention that we are the wholesaler and manufacturer of ObeyYourBody products, and you encountered one of our independent retailers at Menlyn Shopping Centre.
We condemn this kind of behavior and misrepresentation by our independent retailer’s personnel and strongly advise our retailers against such conduct. We worked hard to build a strong and beloved brand and do our best to guard it the best we can.
We are currently in legal litigations with this specific former retailer.
Again, please accept our apologies for this incident.

Obey Your Body / Genome Cosmetics Unethical and manipulative behaviour and empty promises.

My daughter and I was conned into buying R18 000 worth of Obey your body and other brand names products at the store in Menlyn Shopping Centre in the beginning of August 2016, which included 24 months worth of facials. We booked our first sessions and had our facials during the last week of Aug, and found it quite ridiculous, done by a beautician they had in for the day from the Soap Stories shop in Mall of Africa. She did the absolute minimum, and sent us on our way. When we tried to book our appointments for facials this month, we were told they closed down, and so have almost all the other similar shop in the country it seems.
You feel conned out of your money in every possible way.
Shopping centres should not allow these con artists into their shops.
I had a similar experience at Kolonade last year, and when I looked at the card I had left, I now see it was also Obey your body products being sold.
They teach these European/Italian people how to con you into buying - always on Credit card, and they promise you the product will last you at least 18 months. They promise you service knowing full well they won't be there to deliver.

Obey Your Body / Genome Cosmetics Barcelona airport obey your body shop

Dear CS team,
I would like to escalate to the management a bad experience with one of the employees of Obey in Barcelona airport called ORER. I was talking to his colleague who is nice and professionel about the facial serum that I purchased at the end. I asked if this is the same brand as the one in the Amsterdam airport. ORER passed next to us and said : "What I think is if she did not bought it in Amsterdam she will not buy it here..."
This clearly was offending to me. Will never approach this brand again!;

Dear Sara,
This has nothing to do with ObeyYourBody brand of products, you are referring to one of our retailer's staff. We are very sorry to hear about your bad experience. However, it is important to mention we are the wholesaler that sells to a retailer, and although we constantly try to improve our retailer's level of professionalism and common courtesy, we do not have a direct connection with their sales staff. With that being said, please send us all the information (location, time of day, description of the event) in a private message and we will make sure this complaint is being heard by our retailer!
