NWVDirect.com / Awful experience
So I fell for the 'too good to be true' I always told myself just go get what I want at a store I can walk into a see my product. I desperately needed to save money for diapers/food, plus I needed a flash for a wedding I'm doing asap. I ordered an Sb600 flash for my camera. Needless to say 2 days after I order it I get a call from this Sal Allen. He tells me it's on 4 weeks backorder. Which as I can see, the same ol story they give everyone! So in the chaos of trying to hear this guy talking way to fast over the t.v. and my 2 small children I thought I heard he could give me another Nikon flash for $10 less. I asked if it would still work on my camera because after research I read that certain flashes won't work on the newer D series.I then get an email about some other product I had not ordered for $10 more. After realizing the 'bait and switch' was just pulled on me I called to cancel. The first person hung up on me. I call back this lady tells me I have to cancel my order online and all would be okay in an hour. Should've known what company does a request to cancel an order online only? NEVER ever have heard of that. So I called to check in on my CANCELED order. I was transferred 5 TIMES! Until I get this Charles guy. FIRST he tells me he received my cancellation request and how it will be taken care of. Well I wanted to know it was taken care of NOW. He then tells me my order had already been shipped. I had already contacted my card company who said if they charge me I can indeed reverse the transaction for my full money back. I also contacted my lawyer asking what to do because I was just scammed. He informs me of everything and when to call him back if everything is not resolved. Needless to say this Charles guy starts lecturing me and telling me why I shouldn't have agreed to a product I didn't want. HELLO? Know what it's like with 2 kids, a t.v, and some guy talking 80mph? He then agrees to cancel my order and said in fact that my order hadn't been shipped. I check my account no 2 minutes later and they charged my account. So I call them back and ask to talk to the supervisor. I'm transferred to Charles again who tells me that he was just about to cancel and when I mentioned my account was charged he said he would fax me the papers. I had him fax them to my husband's work, so we'll see if those were received. He still claims he didn't 'take my money'. After he got an attitude with me I asked to speak to the person above him and he claimed there was no one else. Which I know is a lie, I've read all over the internet about the head of the company contacting people who weren't happy. Needless to say I've pulled out all the stops I can and don't have the money to go buy another flash while I wait for them to credit me back my money that they didn't 'take from me'. The customer service seems nice at first, but they are very rude and dishonest. My family has been in sales and retail for YEARS and never in my life had I been scammed until now.
--By reading off websites like resellerratings.com. NWVDirect.com tried to give legit excuses why the customer was in the wrong. They are NOT the ones doing the scamming. PLUS NWV direct has pulled the same 'Bait and Switch' on me as they've done to MANY people.
Spare yourself the hassle and time. Pay that extra $10-$20 bucks to order from amazon, ebay, or any other legit business. I'm posting my experience(which is much like many others I've seen). I went against my better judgment and went with this website over legit ones. Should've known. Anyways, just trying to save other people the hassle from dealing with this 'company'. Read all the reviews/reports for yourself!
