Nutra Foods ACSI Resolution

Received an unsolicited package in the mail from Nutra Foods 364 East Main Street Suite 407 Middletown, DE 19709. Never heard of them. Never asked for a free sample. Never gave them my credit card number. Discovered four $1.00 and one $13.95 charge on my Visa card. Somehow this company got my name and card number then sent me a product I did not authorize and charged me for it. I have canceled my card (only way to protect yourself from future charges), disputed the charge with Visa, and filed a complaint with the FTC. These are crooked people and need to be stopped. If you have had a similar experience please go the trouble to file a complaint with the FTC. That is the only way to shut them down.

More details about this fraudulent company. Please do call the [protected] number and engage a representative in dialogue. Let them know they are representing a crooked company. Tell the rep he/she is enabling this company to commit fraud. When they hang up on you call them back. Tie up their phone lines. Argue with them. Make them as miserable as Nutra Foods is making you. They are an independent call center "just doing their jobs". They need to be held accountable for enabling crooks to do business. Also, the address listed in Middletown DE is for a UPS Store. They "just handle the mail" for these crooks. Their phone number is [protected]. Call them and ask for the owner. Tell him he is enabling crooks to steal from honest citizens. Let him know you do not appreciate UPS being used like this. Suggest that he investigate Nutra Foods. Also suggest you will not use UPS for service as long as they represent crooked companies. If enough people complain to the enablers they will stop aiding Nutra Foods. Do your part. I have.

I wish I had read this before I fell for the $.99 postage only fee for a free trial at the merchandise. Couple weeks later I found out that my bank account was charge $74.94 and that it brought my account down and was charged another $37 insufficient fee after a $20 check came in at same time.
These companies should be out of business and whoever uses their advertising should be held responsible for this fraudulent claim.

Nutra Foods Credit Cards Charges

I was charged $74.75 for a product I didn't receive two months after I ordered a sample of the product. I called to get a refund and they refused. Courtney said she would cancel anything that appeared under my name. She gave me a confirmation number.

I called back again to speak to a manager and he said that I had signed up for a membership and didn't cancel it within the 14 days. I told him nothing of that sort appeared when I ordered the sample. When I told him that he said he would cancel everything. Nothing then even showed that I had just canceled it with Courtney ten minutes prior to that.

Nothing on the website said anything about a membership. I told him I received no product and I he said it was company policy not to issue refunds regardless of the reason. I told him I did not order the product and would refuse any future shipments and he was to cancel any membership that appeared on the books.

I went on the website and there are many complaints about this company and the idential problem. People have been charged for numerous months even after they canceled. I want my money refunded. I can't afford this.

Nutra Foods fraud

Yes, I can admit it. I was scammed. I saw an advertisement with Opera and Dr. Oz on it and I went for it. It was supposed to be a free sample. I should have realized it then. If it was going to be free they wouldn’t need my credit card number. I was only supposed to be charge for the shipping $4.95. I went ahead and gave them my card number. Well so far this free sample has cost me $175.30. Not so free any more is it.

When I received the first charge of $87.65 to my account I called the phone number on my bank statement. It took me forever to get a hold of someone in customer service. When I finally did they were very rude and uncaring. They said that by requesting the free sample I agreed to be put on an auto ship program. There was nothing on the website about being put on auto shipment. I was refused a refund, and they would not let me return the unopened bottle of Acai Resolution. I was upset but there was nothing that I could do. They were refusing to give me a refund. I went ahead and canceled any future auto shipment.

Less than a week later they charged my account again, another $87.65. I called the company again and was refused a refund again. Even though I canceled this so called program they put me on. I wanted to cry. I felt so helpless.
After doing a little research on my own I saw where I wasn’t the only person to be scammed by this sorry excuse of a company. The company has changed its name a few times in the last couple of weeks. So far I have found 3 different addresses for it and phone numbers also.

Company name and addresses:

Bottom Two Investments, 110 West 9th Street #665, Wilmington, Delaware, 19801

Bottom Two Investments, 73 green tree dr., ste 60, Wilmington, DE 19801

Nutra Foods, 364 east Main Street, suite 407, Middleton, DE 19709

Phone numbers are [protected] and [protected]

I have contacted the Better business Bureau of Delaware. To let them know what a shady company this is. I also contacted the Consumer Fraud Reporting website and filed a report. Last but not least I contacted The Internet Crime Complaint Center. The more these companies know and get complaints about this kind of shady business the quicker the people will be stopped.

Predatory Billing: I requested a free sample of Acai and the company sent me the product and sent me the product without any telephone number to stop the product or to stop the billing. They are a Scamming bunch of punks. Now I have to call my credit card company to stop any further billing or cancel my card. to stop the billing. Nutra Foods needs to be investigated by the State Attorney General.

Well, I never ordered a free sample and I had never heard of this company before and low and behold today when I went into my checking account I found a charge for $89.99 from their company. I am very carful in using my debit card and would never give it to just anyone. So, I have come to the conclusion that somehow one of my normal transactions to places I use my card for have been hacked. (example - cable company, sattelite Tv, local grocery chains and Walmart).
I have contacted my credit union and I need to fill out a fraud report of some sort today and hopefully they will pursue this for me. It sounds hopeful. I have had to cancel my debit card and think I will use cash from now on. Will try to call the company later, as they are not open as of this writing. However, after reading the complaints listed here I doubt if it will do any good. PLEASE BEWARE of using your card, even in places you think are safe...

Yes, I fell for the same scam because of Dr Oz and Oprah I did not check out the company. I believed they were gong to charge for postage and handling only and that charge was $.99 for one and $1.99 for another.
However a couple weeks later my checking account was charged for $74.94 and $78.88 plus two more charges of $4.99 and $2.37 for an international fee, whatever that is.
Maybe Dr. Oz or Oprah should contact this company and tell them to stop using the Oprah show to entice people to order from these dishonest people.

Same fraud here. Ordered their free sample with $.99 postage charges. Couple weeks later I noticed my bank account was charge $74.94 for something I did not purchase.
This company should not be doing business. They get your bank account number and then begin charging you a monthly fee for an order I have never ordered and never received.

I sat on the phone for about an hour June 24th 2009 to cancel the ACAI I was receiving. Then I received a bottle the first week of July I assumed it was already mailed when I called to canel my orders with ACAI. Then the first week of August here is another bottle and more charges on my card. They also signed me up with two other healthy companies which were charging my card, I called one of them today(Aug. 7th 2009) they said I canceled with them but didn't ASK for a refund, but today they would process it. If I was to cancel my cc as sugested above I would have to change a lot of automatic payments I have set up on my card. What a hassle. I don't have the time for all these phone calls, and to recheck my bank statements over and over again. What can be done to stop this. j. johnson (Renton, WA)

Wow!

I thought I was the only one going through this. I called and spoke with a rep @ [protected] who was extremely rude. In fact I never received an additional bottle of these pills. On the site it only stated that this was a free trail (nothing else). My husband called my bank and explained that this charge was done without prior authorization. My bank contacted them and they still refused to remove my charges of $87.65. it's a good thing I have an outstanding relationship with my bank because they did issue a credit back to my account in the amount of $87.65.

The very same thing has happened to me. They claimed I never called to cancel it after they charged my card the first time. I can not afford to give my money away. They charged me for the crap before my 30 days was even up and absolutely refuse to give my money back. My husband has sent a letter to the attorney general and I made them aware of that prior to hanging up on the extremely rude man that I was speaking to.

Nutra Foods Unauthorized billing

Several months ago I sent for a free trial of acai on the internet. A package did arrive with a trial bottle and nothing else, no information of any kind. For this reason I did not want to keep or try the product. Today I received another package containing a bottle of capsules and this prompted me to again try to contact the company.

Thanks to two [redacted]s on Nutra Foods listing their phone number I was able to contact them. Their customer service person told me that conditions of the trial offer were clearly spelled out on the internet and because I did not read them and call to cancel I was automatically enrolled in their monthly supply program. I guarantee you that had these conditions been spelled out on the original trial offer, I would have read and subsequently followed them. I asked for their website address to verify what I was told and discovered that there is now a different website which does indeed spell out conditions of the offer.

I ordered a free sample of Acai over the internet on 7/27/09. The only charge was to be $1.99 for shipping. I received the sample a few days later with only a copy of the name of the item (no other information). Today I noticed on my online bank account a pending charge for $74.94 from yournutrahealth.com. I called my bank to dispute the charge but was told that I could not do anything until it cleared my account. I called the phone number listed on the bank statement [protected], ext. 1) and spoke with a customer service rep which assured me that I agreed to a free trial offer that I must cancel within14 days or be sent additional products and charged additional fees. I most definitely did not agree to a 14 day trial offer or I would have cancelled before the deadline. They agreed to cancel my membership, but said a new shipment went out today and I could return it unopened for a partial refund ($49.94). THIS IS A MAJOR SCAM WHICH NEEDS TO BE STOPPED!

My husband found a random charge ($43.95 or something like that) from this company. The strange thing it was on his credit card number, and he NEVER even tries to order stuff like they sell, so we new something strange was happening. We looked farther and found there had been another charge the month before for the same amount that had totally slipped by. We tried to find the company online, and as you know-no luck! When we did manage to find numbers they were disconnected or did not work. We ended up calling the bank and telling them what was up and that the charges were unauthorized. The bank told us that the only way to truly get the charges to stop was to cancel the card that is being charged and get a new one for the account. The bank is reversing the charges and will send a new card out Monday. All we can think is that they tagged some other internet transaction we did and used the card information from that. Bazaar mystery. Good luck to all and be careful!

I've had a similar experience. I did get them to take the charges off my credit card, then a few days ago I got another package and returned it without opening it. Then I just noticed a charge on my credit card again. This time for $43 and change. The new number is [protected]. The don't open until 8 PST so I will call them and see what they will do to get that one removed.

Thank you to everyone for posting yur interaction with this product. My experience was exactly the same as those complaints listed above, with product showing up, no information, etc. My credit card statement showed two different charges. One for $79.95 for www.natures-Acai.com in Reno (found their phone number [protected] on website) and $29.95 for www.Lifestylefit.com [protected]). Thank you Liz for providing the phone number for Nutra Foods [protected]). I called all three and cancelled everything. All had the exact same script and gave cancellation confirmation numbers. Each said I had agreed to the terms of becoming a member of their program and that I didn't call within the 15 days to cancel therefore they could not remove the charges. I seem to remember not getting the initial "free" product for m ore than a month. What a scam. I guess this is an expensive lesson to realize that NOTHING is FREE.

Nutra Foods Quality of food causing illness

I have a doberman pinscher who I had been feeding Nutro and Nutro Max dog food since the end of the pet food recall. (Nutro is the brand that has their sales people standing in the aisles at Petsmart telling you how pure and nutritious their food is.) Well, my dog had been recently losing weight, snubbing her food and gagging and choking frequently. I couldn't figure out why such a skinny dog wouldn't eat. Then I started receiving e-mails about Nutro dog food and that in Texas there were pet illnesses and deaths attributed to the feeding of Nutro products. Consumers were being the cold shoulder by the company that produces Nutro when they asked whether there was a problem with their food. I was worried because the same symptoms in the sick and dead victims were the problems I was seeing in my dobie. I returned all of the cans of Nutro Max I had purchased to the Petsmart and bought an alternative dry and wet food. I began supplementing the wet food with home cooked "dog stews". The dobie began to gain wait and her eyes looked better and she was gagging and choking less and less each day. I took her to the vet shortly after the diet change and the vet said her liver enzymes were high. This also happened to be another symptom suffered by other dogs that were fed Nutro products.

My dobie seems better these days and I attribute that to getting her off Nutro and Nutro Max dog food.
If your dog is eating this stuff and seems okay remember that a bad diet will kill you over time. It's not like drinking or eating poison mushrooms or something. It's something that can cause slow health damage over the long term. I am resentful that I have paid premium prices for a food product that was causing my beloved dobie to suffer possible liver damage.

A little education if you please. I have been a pet owner for 15+ years and a veterinary technician for over 3. I am so sorry to bust everyones bubble... dog food cant manifest fluid on a dogs heart and or lungs no more than KFC can do that to any one of us two legged creatures. And would any of you use chicken that had gone past its expiration date ! HELLO ! A little common sence please. Dog food can go bad, especially if it is not handled properly, like left on a hot loading doc for hours, the chicken/beef/lamb base can go bad! Has any one heard of ' ulceritive colitis' big word for belly ache. I bet no one disclosed that they slipped " Fluffy " a pork chop when she just had an upset stomach... can we say pancreatitis... there are lots of variables here people. If you change your dogs food too quickly... instant bloody stool and potential vomiting. ( voice of experiance here people, ) If you give your dog people food that in it self can cause pancreatic issues. Do you realy think that the company is just out to kill pets? I highly doubt it people. If you all can recall a few years ago Purina had the same issue... except... it included, dog, cat, horse and cattle feed... This is why i work with dogs and cats... they are not as judgemental as people... nice thing about my clients is... when they get nippy... it least i have the option to put a muzzle on them, unlike the two legged kind. Common sence people, maybe you ought to try and get some... right next to the bag of nutro I feed my dogs... LOL.

Go to consumeraffairs.com & search for "Nutro pet food complaints"! I also used Nutro Max for years with no problem, but it was bought by the huge conglomerate Mars International about 3 years ago. There have been SERIOUS problems with the Nutro food production multiple times since Mars took it over!

Until I recently brought home new bags that my fur-babies wouldn't go NEAR, I had no idea Nutro was bought by Mars or about the many serious food production problems Nutro had since the Mars buyout! In February, I bought a new bag of Nutro Max (10/2010 best by date) & my cats wouldn't go near it! I immediately called Nutro, since my pets loved their Nutro & the bag was marked "Improved Taste". I was told they ONLY added additional chicken meal, but maybe my bag had gone rancid during delivery. I was told to get another bag with a different "best by" date, so it would be a different production run. I had to go to a neighboring town to find a different "best by" date, but I did as Nutro suggested. Second bag- different date(9/2010): SAME problem! Pets went close & wouldn't touch it! I called Nutro AGAIN- same story, they just added additional chicken meal, no idea why my cats wouldn't eat it... At NO point did EITHER of these reps ask for my "best by" date or the lot number! Shows how concerned they are- NOT! I did tell the rep it needed to be escalated- something was wrong with their food. My last call to Nutro, I again spoke to Diana- her story was now different from what she said before. Now she said they didn't change the Nutro Max formula AT ALL recently, but they ran out of the correct packaging & knowingly use OLD packages so they didn't hold up sales! LOVELY! What else would this damn company do so they didn't lose money?

After researching, I learned about Nutro's buyout by Mars & all the problems since. Last summer's recall was because Nutro used a vitamin pre-mix bought from another company, that Nutro didn't even bother testing. Some batches had TOXIC levels of Zinc; some batches had inadequate levels of potassium! But Nutro had customer complaints for MONTHS before they finally did a recall! There is documentation by so many that they contacted Nutro, yet Mars/Nutro said they never received any customer complaints & learned of the pre-mix "error" (KILLED many pets; sickened others, but hard to prove) during a paperwork audit.

2 of my 3 cats become ill, 1 seriously so & had to be hospitalized on an IV. The symptoms of both were what we were warned about with the TOXIC Zinc issue- loss of appetite, bloody diarrhea, vomiting. But the "best by" date on my recent bags were outside the end of last summer's recall date range, 8/22/2010. Mine had October, then September 2010 dates. Was Nutro lying again about the date range? Or since they have screwed up so many times thanks to poor Quality Control, were there additional "mistakes"? I almost lost 1 of my beloved pets, but many other have had their pets die recently- they ALL ate Nutro pet foods, dogs & cats! We spent well over $2000, but I still have my pets- now eating MUCH healthier food!

Nutro should document our calls, take our "best by" dates & lot numbers, offer to test since there are SO many complaints! But they do NOTHING! MARS/NUTRO has PLENTY of money & should learn the meaning of morals/ethics & responsibility- they ARE responsible for what they produce. Mars also owns Royal Canin, Whiskas & other pet food/treat brands, so BEWARE!

Mars/Nutro- YOU are POISONING our pets! Apathy on your part is DISGUSTING!

To Spiralsands,
I am so happy to read your dobie pulled through! Nutro is a company that has the worst track record for making pets sick and die. They only care about their profits period. Two years after the recall and they are STILL in the news! As long as they can continue to poison our pets and get away with it they will do so. The FDA and other supposed regulatory companies are pretty useless as is evident that this is still going on. Please spread to the word.

To Robert Dog,
Don't be such an idiot! If you work for Nutro, quit! or at least come forward and admit to the public what you know goes on behind closed doors, you may be rewarded. And no, I don't work for another pet food company. Unlike you, some of us truly love animals but I guess you would have to be inhumane to take a job at Nutro.
