North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] online access to pay $6.78 bill

12/7/2016 I received a bill stating I could pay this online. My "ZipCash" Account ID: [protected] stated to pay the bill I would need to go to your NTTA.org website. I did... After THREE hours of attempting to get the site to accept my Account ID OR Invoice ID (which I never found) and my License... and it NOT accepting it... I quit. I called in today and the lady I spoke with told me that "THEY'VE" been making changes to the website and a lot of people were complaining!

WHAT! WHY DIDN'T YOU PUT A BANNER NOTICE ON NTTA.ORG LETTING EVERYONE KNOW!

I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW MUCH YOUR BRAND IS DIRT IN MY EYES!

I am so displeased with your website service.

My name is Bill Purvis

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] overcharging/missing zipcash bills

Over the summer, my husband had a rental vehicle from the dealership he purchased his truck from. Since we were only supposed to have the vehicle for one day, we did not add it to our toll account. Speed up to now, I received a bill from a collection agency stating that I owe 45.08 for a 10.08 toll bill. We NEVER received a ZipCash bill before receiving the bill from collections. Called and of course NTTA says that they sent 3 notices out. So, instead of wasting any more of my life talking to the awful people who work for NTTA, I paid the bill. Then, Saturday, in the mail, what shows up? A 3rd notice of non payment. Funny thing is, they said they had already sent that out long before it was sent to collections. After a conversation today with the lovely (not) NTTA representative who spoke to me as if I was a complete idiot, I am expecting the supervisors, supervisor to give me a call later this afternoon. I am sure I will continue to get no where talking to these people but, its about the principal of it all.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] customer service

On the phone with north texas tollway authority (ntta) for over an hour trying to resolve zipcash invoices (i do have toll tags, but license plates did not update online correctly). right in the middle of the call (at 6:12pm) all I heard was silence (disconnected). I called right back and got a recording that offices are now closed to call back during regular business hours. sent email to customer service which was read at 6:50p the same day, requesting a call back by 9p.

I cannot believe that a company of this size that has to deal with the public all the time has customer service that is so bad, that there is no customer service at ntta!

Unfortunately there is no other company I can switch to, to process toll charges as they have a monopoly on the toll roads in north texas!

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] fdcpa violation

NTTA violates the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practice Act)

!) I received a bill for $12, 760.00. When I called NTTA they stated this is incorrect because they don't charge those fees anymore and my total bill was actually $5824.66 ($3104.66 tolls, $2660.00 in fees). They continue to send me bills for $12, 760.00 even though they say that is incorrect and they say they cannot send me a corrected bill. Why not? (I'm not disputing the tolls, I take responsibility for them). This is a direct violation of the FDCPA which I have posted below:

§ 807. False or misleading representations
A debt collector may not use any false, deceptive, or misleading representation or means in connection with the collection of any debt. Without limiting the general application of the foregoing, the following conduct is a violation of this section:

(2) The false representation of --

(A) the character, amount, or legal status of any debt;

They also violate the FDCPA by posting a list of habitual violators on their website with their name and amount due in an effort to shame them into paying. Once again I provide the FDCPA violation below:

§ 806. Harassment or abuse
A debt collector may not engage in any conduct the natural consequence of which is to harass, oppress, or abuse any person in connection with the collection of a debt. Without limiting the general application of the foregoing, the following conduct is a violation of this section:

(3) The publication of a list of consumers who allegedly refuse to pay debts, except to a consumer reporting agency or to persons meeting the requirements of section 1681a(f) or 1681b(3)1 of this title.

As you can see, the NTTA violates Federal Law yet for some reason they are allowed to get away with this. Any other institution would have been prosecuted for either of these violations. Why is NTTA not held to the same standard?

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] outrageous late fees / no first notice / car has been sold /

I sold my vehicle on April 19th.. In front of a notary at a credit union. All nice and legal. On April 20th I left the country for three months. Someone collected mail for me. On return there was a second notice for a five dollar toll fee that was past due now owing $15.10 from Zip CASH. There was no date on when the toll road was used. When I called, I was told someone drove on the toll road on April 20th. I was told that even though the vehicle was sold, even though I never received a first notice and did not receive the second notice until it was past due, I owed now $40.10 and it would go up to $500 dollars, jail time, and the vehicle could be confiscated. Etc. Is there no appeal system to let honest people explain the circumstances and let them pay what is owed? Now what if the new owner does not want to pay the $40.10? He is the one used the service in his vehicle.. Only it takes a few days to transfer registration. Am I responsible for his bills? I offered to give the name and address of the new owner so the bill could be sent to him but Zipcash refused to take the address. Can a good lawyer help with a class action lawsuit? Does the public know about this robbery of citizens? Should I pay the money I do not owe to avoid jail time and running thousands of dollars in late fees? Miffed I am! Just seems to me to be "Highway Robbery". RC

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] overcharging

at least once every three months I have to call the ntta about credit card numbers or expiration dates the first thing they ask for and will not proceed without is my phone number an drivers license number followed by my e-mail. They email me to let me know that my card is not working it would be nice if they would provide a link so I might update it my self but then they couldn't charge me 34 times the original toll and administration fees they take my phone number and never call to let you. these practices are outrageous and implemented for the sole purpose of taking more of your money instead of being about the people and for the people. this is a scam, racketeering, and down right criminal and I am going to complain until someone changes their practices

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] charges for a monthly and never told there was a charge.

I live out of state most of the year and came home to an overstuffed mailbox filled with junk and ants. My mail is forwarded, but never got anything from NTTA. There were invoices from NTTA beginning in January that showed they were charging me $1.50 each month for sending the statement that I did not request a paper statement! When I called to inquire they told me that they will no longer send it but would not refund my money! She then told me it was between me and the customer service person that I'd originally talked to about my being charged. Well... since I did it online I did not know they would send me a paper statement and charge me $1.50 each month depleting my balance. This a total rip off and false charging without notice that you are being charged!

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] billing

I never recieved the first billl. The second bill arrived and it looked just like junk mail. It was sent to Honda Lease Trust, which I am not leasing, I'm buying. I'm possitive it is designed this way so you keep throwing it away and owe more money. Then I tried logging into the website provided on their notice, //ntta.espview.com. This website does not work. Now, I think this is a scam. I call the number listed. They give a second website. This website does work. I want to talk to a person but the wait is 10 minutes. After reading about this NTTA online, I realize this is a real company and thye will not help wave fees for fake looking bills. I pay the bill. The date on the invoice is 6/10 and the account id is [protected]. I want a refund on the New Fees for a total of $50.

I too want a refund of the charge they imposed when I didn't get the first notice! I am aware of the charge that is why I waited or it in the mail but never received it. The customer service person lectured me on how they operate which I am fully aware. Of course they are not going to believe me because according to them they have a record of them sending it to me 1st 2 times. but seeing a lot of complaints here, now I want a refund of the extra charge!

We live in another state and the vehicle they company is claiming owes tolls is incorrect. For some reason, the letter B and the number 8 are Part of the problem. The photo show a car from New Jersey! The vehicle they claim did the toll is an old truck in Washington state. It's not be out of the state. I have called three times. The company looks in to it and say it's it was a mistake. Then the next month, they send another bill with more fees ect. It is very old. The website listed on the paperwork does not work. It is very difficult to get ahold of anyone to address the problem. WE are looking into legal services to address this. It has been ongoing now for 6 months. It is harassment that will effect my credit score and our vehicle. They don't fix their mistakes.

Ntta.org, the website listed on the bill, works fine. It does not matter if you are leasing or buying, the name of the company is Honda Lease Trust. Whether a bill looks like junk matters not. It is your responsibility to check your mail before tossing it to verify if it is in act, junk mail.

Are you aware that this is a TOLL fine? You went through a toll road and did not pay. And yes, they are a real company.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] poor customer service

I received a "ZIP CASH" bill for a recent toll-road usage. When I called to pay over the phone, the automated system asked for "the phone number associated with this account." That was not available, of course, since this was a one-time ZipCash bill.

The system also asked for the "invoice number, " which was NOWHERE on the bill.

I then waited on hold for a customer service representative (system indicated my hold would be 6-10 minutes) for almost 30 minutes and then was disconnected.

I called the next day and ask for a credit, because of the problems I had encountered. The representatives response, "I'm sorry, but there's nothing I can do." She also mentioned that they had had "phone problems" when I called the previous evening.

The representative took my payment and I learned my lesson: STAY FAR AWAY FROM ALL TEXAS TOLL ROADS!

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] billing

Billing at NTTA is criminal because it looks for ways to fine you and hold you accountable for hundreds in fees and fines. Been trying to work with them for years on why they seem to not be able to charge my account as they have done for years previous. Since they say they can't charge my account this gives them the "right" to add fees. Every time I'm on the phone with them they have zero problems! We noticed a problem with not seeing our usual charges and called spent almost 3 hours talking and re-talking with customer service and billing and a 3rd party resolution persons. They spun me all around first of all waiting then saying the other department has to be the one and then waiting to speak to them to be told no it's this other department. They charged us for a car that isn't mine, didn't matter I will be held accountable is I want my account cleared. Please somebody hold them accountable and add my name to the list of people that can prove what they are given the "authority" to do is criminal. It is their intention to rob their customers of money.

I am dealing with the same practices you all are. I am looking into a lawsuit and in order to get a class action suit, we need the following: (and fill out this Google Survey so I can collect the 100 minimum complainants needed to get this in motion- https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1CoVTS9zN8KZRg4m34lrLKMoSobsR6OtdGD24Wlm40wc/viewform?usp=send_form)

What Factors are Used to Certify a Class Action Lawsuit?

When deciding whether to certify a class, a court is required to evaluate four specific factors. They are:

Numerosity: the plaintiffs must show that “the class is so numerous that joinder of all members is impracticable.” While there is no set minimum number of class members, typically courts will require at least 100 members in order to satisfy the numerosity requirement. The plaintiffs must also show that class members must be identifiable through the use of specific criteria or information.
Commonality: the plaintiffs must show that there are questions of law and fact that are common to the claims of each class member. The commonality requirement is satisfied where the party opposing the class has engaged in some course of conduct that affects a group of persons and gives rise to a cause of action.
Typicality: the class representatives must show that their individual claims are “typical” of the claims of the various class members. Typicality exists where the representatives’ claims arise from the same event or course of conduct that gives rise to the claims of other class members and the claims are based on the same legal theory.
Adequacy: the plaintiffs must show that they will fairly and adequately protect the interests of the class. To make such a showing, they must typically demonstrate that they have the willingness and ability to take an active role in and control the litigation in order to protect the interest of the absentee class members and that their attorneys will act with the necessary zeal and competence.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] unethical billing practices

I received a 3rd Notice of Nonpayment yesterday. I never received a 1st or even a 2nd. What was once $7 has incurred fees that add up to $42. Not only that, when I called to have the fees waived due to not receiving a 1st, they stated that they track all invoices they send out and the only way to waive those fees was to sign of for a TollTag. Then I was advised that 3 other invoices which I didn't even receive 1st, 2nd, OR 3rd notices about have been sent to Collections. I have actually been waiting for months to receive my bill but apparently I have missed 5 of them? USPS provides NTTA with a tracking service. Frankly, I'm still waiting on USPS to deliver some earrings I ordered online two Christmases ago. That aside, I find NTTA to be untrustworthy and I think they purposefully do not send out invoices so they can collect the fees from them.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] billing practices and fees

I have had a toll tag with the NTTA for over 5 years now. I have never received a zip tag notice or anything stating I had unpaid balances outside of my toll tag. Yet last week I received a notice stating they are putting a hold on my registration for unpaid tolls. I went into their office and was told that I had a balance of $850. The gentleman I spoke to was extremely rude. Would not look at me. I told him I have never received anything. All he said was they have confirmation that the letters went out. They would not waive any fees at all. And he would not let me speak to a supervisor. I called today to set up a payment plan. I was told that I had to make a dowd payment of $262 with 5 monthly payments of around $105. I told him I could do $400. He shot back with $488? I said no, $400. What about $402? So I paid $402 and was told it would be 4 payments of $110. I asked if he could spread that over 5 months. He said no, we won't take payments under $100. They are absolutely ridiculous and impossible to deal with. Their business practices are asinine. They just want to get as much money as they can and because they "have more power" as I was told when I went into their office, they can do whatever they want.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] billing practices and fees

I have had a tolltag with NTTA for over a year. I was receiving drafts out of my bank account every month to pay for the tolls. Once a month I started receiving paper bills in the mail. I went into my account online and confirmed my account had money and was current so I figured it was just an FYI bill. I received about 4 bills, one a month for small amounts from NTTA. I continued to check my account and everything looked good, no problems. Then I received a collections notice for a $1.80 in tolls and $35.00 in fees. I called NTTA and they said that sometimes the toll tags don't work and it will bill you. They said I had three of these bills in collections totaling $146.83 of which $105 was for fees. I tried to get them to remove the fees since it wasn't my fault the toll tag wasn't working but they refused since they were already in collections. Oh and to make it worse they were charging me the non-toll tag rate.

NTTA is charging me for tolls that my TxTag also charged me. TxTag has disputed it twice and has received notice from NTTA the dispute is valid, and that I owe no money. The NTTA failed to send me my toll bills and when I checked into they stated that they did not have my address on file. North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] unethical billing

Would give a -5 rating if I could. Worst customer service EVER. Received a bill today (10/24/2015) with a billing date from 8/14-10/13 for tolls that were evidently charged in July (but bill was never received until TODAY) and got charged $10 in late fees. Called and spoke to a rep that couldn't wait to get me off the phone when asked to remove the fees...remember, I NEVER received a bill until today. The supervisor KELLY explained they don't always mail invoices if it is not going to be "cost effective" and it was really up to me to have contacted them since I didn't get a bill after travelling their toll roads. Since I didn't do that I am expected to pay the ridiculous $10 "administrative fee." Oh, and did I want to buy a toll tag while I was on the line? OH HELL NO - ended up in a screaming match. Extremely poor customer service, unethical billing practices and ridiculous toll rates. I am filing complaints to anyone who is willing to listen. When I filed this review on the ntta.org website I found several other complaints EXACTLY like mine. The supervisor (Kelly) told me to DISREGARD what he told me about not sending invoices if it is not "cost effective" and to consider buying a toll tag to prevent this from happening again. Hmmm. How about I just find ways around town to avoid your damn tolls? I can certainly do that. Oh yeah, and I can let everyone else know what a scam this is.

The first invoice I received for using George Bush Turnpike was a 2nd notice of non-payment. I never received a payment invoice, nor did I ever receive a first notice of non-payment. I spoke with a man on the phone who said he showed they did send out two previous invoices. That is either blatantly a lie, or it's just wildly coincidental that my post man is 0 for 2 with only NTTA's bills. Funny no one else seems to have a problem getting their bills to me. NTTA are nothing short of crooks and thieves. Period. There should be laws against theft but evidently it's okay to steal here in the U.S. Maybe I too should begin looking into a job where I can just steal from others and not have to actually work. Seems to be the easiest way to make a living. I'm supposed to be receiving a supervisor call in the next 48 hours to discuss the issue. Also, I noticed many people were reimbursed earlier this year in a statement from NTTA for issues exactly like mine. If they are reimbursed and I am told I cannot be, would that be discrimination?
