National Tire & Battery [NTB] rudeness sloppy work being done

Service techs very rude manager very rude . Was told that I did not have an alignment that I paid for after being persistent they end up finding the information that showed I did pay for the alignment. Tried to pay with a debit card and was told I could not pay with a debit card, again after being persistent was charged on the debit card . After waiting another hour did not know where my keys or locks to my tires were. Will not be going back to this Manassas Virginia location ever again

National Tire & Battery [NTB] unnecessary "repairs"

On May 20, 2018, our son was out of town in Niles, Ill and had a flat tire. He took it to NTB. Our son has autism and the crooks there must have seem him as and easy target. They lied to him about needing a new suspension system, telling him he'd get another flat on the way home if they didn't do the work. They also replaced his complete exhaust system. If he would have called me I would have told him to just get the tire replaced and come home for our trusted mechanic to look at his car. Our mechanic, from whom we had recently bought the car, was shocked by all the unneeded work that was done.

So a flat ends up with our son getting completely ripped off with a $2, 660.77 bill.
When we called to complain, the manager said he had left and one of his mechanics did this shameless crime to our son. I have used NTB for years for tires and oil, but I will never go back to this criminal organization. Corporate has to know this is going on because of the numerous complaints logged across the country.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] service to my acura mdx

On May 19th i took my truck into NTB for a number of reasons...there was a lot of play in my steering wheel, my truck felt like i was driving on a sheet of ice and felt like it wanted to lock up on me. Also it felt like the truck was out of aligned.

I was advised that my tie rods were going bad but there had to be something else happening to cause the car to drive the way it did. I was asked by Chris if I could leave the truck to have the store manager Jason have a look for a pair of 2nd eyes.

On may 21rd after having my truck for a couple of days i was told that my steering angle sensor was bad and needed to be replaced and that i should also replace the tie rods as well. chris informed me he was having a hard time finding the SAS and asked if i could call around as well and i did. I purchased a SAS and tie rods from NAPA Auto store the SAS I spent $217 to have it overnight from their location in UTAH.

ON Wed May 23rd i delivered the parts to NTB and was told by NTB they will contact me once the truck was fixed.

On Saturday May 26th after several days of calling and going by i was advised by NTB that my rack and pinion needed to be replaced and if i would probably get a better deal if i purchased the part myself. therefore i went to O'reilly auto parts and purchased a rack and pinion and delivered to NTB myself that day. they ask if i could give them until monday because the manager Jason will be personal doing the work on the truck and he was off on sundays and it was about a 4.5hr job.

****AT THE POINT THE TRUCK JUST WASN'T SAFE TO DRIVE*********

On Monday May 28th I called to check on the process of the car i was told by Jason the store manager everything is looking he would call me back by the end ... I NEVER HEARD BACK.

The next day i called and was told they are still working but should be finished on wednesday.

May 30th i called was told things are looking good and could come after work to pick up the truck. arrived about 5:30ish and was told the truck needed to realigned and text driven one more time and i was good to go... 2 hrs laters jason released the truck to be after having to realign it 3 different times as i waited.

SO $720 later i drove the car home about 4mi and noticed the wheel was extremely stiff. on thursday may 31st i called NTB and spoke to chris. i told him the truck was driving weird and making noises. he asked if i could bring in in on friday...

Friday i ended up taking the truck to the Acrua dealership for a 2nd pair of eyes ...
AT THAT TIME WAS ADVISED THAT ALL THE WORK THAT WAS DONE WAS INCORRECT. THE TIE RODS WERE PLACED BACKWARDS, THE POWER STEERING HOLES WAS CUT AND TRIED TO COVERED UP HENCE THE LEAKING OF THE FLUID. THE NUTS FROM THE RACK IN PINION WERE NOT PLACED BACK! THE POWER STEERING PUMP THAT I HAD REPLACED AT ANOTHER NTB LOCATION HAD INSTALLED IT INCORRECT.

I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THEY WERE SURPRISED I DIDN'T GET IN TO AN ACCIDENT DRIVING THE 20MILES TO THERE LOCATION!

National Tire & Battery [NTB] I had to pay for labor three times in the past year for work done on my nissan truck.

Last june I had your repair shop in short pump virginia replace all brakes on my nissan truck.in december last year I had to have all brakes replaced along with an axle were I had to pay labor. Yesterday I had my truck in the same repair shop were again I had to pay for labor again. I was told by an employee there that the axil replace din december was from "advance auto but this time we are replacing it with a napa part because they have better parts." it is concerning that you do not use napa parts to begin with. I am extremely disappointed that I have to continue to pay for labor for the same repairs time after time. I have purchased tires from you in the past and am in need of more. I will be taking my business to another tire store and also will not be having any repairs done in the future. I moved to the area three years ago and have been happy with the service until now.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] service

On 5/12 I went to the Seabrook New Hampshire store for tires. Tires were not in stock but, they could transfer them from the Newington New Hampshire store. So, I made appointment for 5/19 to get tires. I get there and no tires. They had an entire week to get them and they failed. I did get a different tire that was in stock that was suggested by the salesman and saved a little money. I then found out I needed rear brakes. I informed the salesman that wrote up the work order I have a problem with the emergency brake. He told me not to worry because that would be taken care of during the brake inspection. I picked up the truck and went home. I checked the emergency brake and it seemed fine. On 5/20 I hear a noise from the back of the truck and felt a vibration just like the problem I had when the emergency brake was binding up before my visit to NTB. So, I went back to the store. I was told it was the emergency brake even though I told them I had a problem with it they didn't fix it. I was told to come back on 5/21 and they would have parts to fix it. I was not told to not drive the vehicle. I get to work and a coworker tells me to go look at the new rotors that were installed. The binding emergency brake generated enough heat to discolor the rotor. I get to NTB after work and guess what NO PARTS! Now I have to leave the truck there. Next day I pick up the truck and rolled down the windows when I got home and it's still making noise. I live in a trailer park where speed limit is 10 mph, tryed the emergency brake, the pedal nearly went to the floor and the truck DID NOT STOP! This vehicle will not pass a safety inspection even though it has new brakes. Now I have to go there again. Besides my brake issues my big concern now are my wheel bearings and axle seals. They're not that far away from where all that heat was being generated. I'm enclosing a picture of the rotor. Let's see how they do tonight.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] object in tire-slow leak

WENT INTO THE NTB SERVICE CENTER ON 2312 LAKEVIEW PARKWY, ROWLETT, TX 75088...
I've had a tire that was constantly needing air, and this particular NTB station was on my way home.

Zemerian Wigenton was the associate I spoke too about seeing if there was something in my tire that was causing the problem. He took my keys and drove it into the car bay,
as I watched from the window, I noticed he popped my hood and thought He doesn't need to do that to check my tire, so I opened the door in the bay area and asked what he was doing... He said schedule maintenance on my vehicle, I then told him it had already been done through Nissian and I didn't need another one.

He and another guy proceeded with checking my tire and found a metal shard in it.

When I was checking out, I told him that before he assumes that a vehicle needed maintenance done, he needed to ask the customer when their last scheduled maintenance was performed, he proceeded to tell me "you should have told me, Nooo...he needed to ask the customers first. I was charged $22.98 for them to plug and patch the problem in my tire. Would have cost me a lot more than that had I not watched what was going on with my vehicle!

He was a #1 smartass and needs to go back to Customer Service School and get re-trained...

Will never go to another NTB if this is the way customers are going to be treated.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] no service at all

I live in Greensboro, NC and all I wanted was an inspection along with my tires rotated since we bought the tires there. Now I started my day this morning going to the store on Battleground Ave. and that person inside told me that they only have one inspector and he was off on Mondays and Tuesday's so I said ok I'll go to another store. Now keep in mind that if they can't do both things that I wanted done at the same time then I'm going somewhere that can. So I then went to the store off of Cone Blvd. and they said the same thing that their inspector was off and would be in tomorrow. So I started putting the pieces together but I then called the store on Guilford College Rd. And they said the same damn thing. Now at this point I was pissed off! I said to myself how is it that NTB has their inspectors off on the same day, which is dumb, and then I would think that all of the technicians would be trained in doing that so this wouldn't happen. I mean that's common sense and this is "NO WAY" to do business. Now I've been pretty good at telling people how good y'all are but trust me I will tell the same ones not to go get inspections done their on Monday's and Tuesday's.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] oil change done to my buick lessbre

I went for an oil change and waited for about an hour! After my oil chabge was done, I paid $29.10 amd was given my keys to drive off ! As i drove off something didn't seem right about my car . It began to jerk and slow down, so I decided to make my way back to the shop, but as I proceeded I received a phone call saying I needed to return then boom my car broke down. Long story short I went for an oil change and returned with a blown engine and now I have no transportation I'm on urge of losing my job and this company has no sympathy for the stress and damages they've caused! Not only that but they won't even refund me for the oil change or give a rental long enough until they pay for the damages done to my car. Where I live its been raining and these people left the window down on my car and now its water damage done to the interior of my car. I just need help finding a lawyer for a long law suit!

National Tire & Battery [NTB] unauthorized work on my car.

My name is Marvina Jenkins I bought my car into NTB at 2161 Northwoods Blvd. North Charleston, SC 29406 for a wheel alignment on May 11, 2018. When the Tech went to do the alignment he found out that my inner and outter tie rods were bent on the front passenger side. Jessica the Service Manager gave me the cost of the repairs at 541.00. I explained to Jessica that I have car guard insurance let me check to see if it was covered. Because all I would have to pay was the $100 dollars deductible to have it fixed. I would call them to let them if I wanted them to do the work. I called them on Saturday morning to let them know that my insurance didn't cover the work that needed to be done and I was coming to pickup my car. Jessica informed me that they started working on my car. I asked her why were they doing any work to it when I told you and the Tech that I will call you back to let you know if I wanted the work done. Jessica put me on hold to stop the process and let the person working on my car know that I'm picking it up. When she came back to the phone and told me that he already had the new parts on the car. So I went to NTB and had a face to face with Jessica and Nick (Manager) they said all they can do is put my old parts back on the car then she showed me the parts and how they were bent. My thing is I didn't give permission to work on my car and they did. Now they want to put the old parts back on after telling me that if the brake something could happen to my steering while I'm driving and cause an accident. They are holding my car for work that was not authorized and expect me to pay for it. My phone number is [protected].

National Tire & Battery [NTB] service

I came for a new tire on my truck. The employee honestly could have given a [censored] about my situation. Giving me one or two word answers and really did not care if I got my tire fixed. He was wearing a Hennessey hat and super tight shirt with tattoo sleeves on each arm. He looked like he was about to go to a club, not work at his job, helping people with their car issues. I did not feel like he did really anything in his power to address the situation. I actually tried to flag down the tow truck that dropped me off, because he said there was really nothing they could do. I told him that I was going to take my business elsewhere and he didn't even say a word to me after I said I was. As I was making the call to AAA he came out of the shop with a cigarette in hand for a smoke in the parking lot. I guess there is a good answering service when no one is there!

National Tire & Battery [NTB] overcharging/taken advantage due to disability

I have had a disability since 1990, and for the most part I have never felt discriminated because of it; however I feel as if I have been profiled and have been taken advantage of now, based on my condition. For a business to make money is one thing, but they should at least have a moral compass of doing the right thing! This is the facts: I simply took my vehicle in to have an oil change( a synthetic one ) charged over $ 70.00. I paid the full amount, I left the establishment and was almost home on a major highway, doing 60 mph and suddenly my car died. There I was stuck in my lane. Luckley 3 good people helped me push my car to the small shoulder of the highway. I had my vehicle towed back to the establishment where I had completed my oil change, to be evaluated. They wanted to charge me an insane amount to fix the issue. I refused their service, because of the high amount. I had the same vehicle fixed and the problem solved at a dealership for at a much lower cost.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] service on my van

I have a 2008 Kia Sedona van. I have kept the maintenance on my van up to date. I have it serviced regularly. I moved to Dunbar, WV, and my friends suggested I take my van to NTB for service and inspection. I am an OCD person and I keep my yard clean and cut, as well as the walks and NEW driveway. I purchased this home almost years ago and they driveway had just been poured. I will not allow people to park on my driveway if their cars leak. My neighbors are willing to testify to this fact. I have three neighbors that have seen me scrubbing my walks and drives to keep them clean. So, I took my van to be serviced at your Dunbar location. They told me I need an entire new rack and pinion steering and that it was leaking. Well, there were no leaks on my driveway! I have NO symptoms of any kind! They tried to convince me that I needed this job done and it would be in the approx. amount of $1, 000. Well, I have mechanic friends and I decided to let them check it, instead. I came home, called my friend. He looked at it and said it didn't show any symptoms after he drove him. As he pulled out of the driveway, there was a small leak where my van had been parked. WHAT? It had NEVER leaked PRIOR to my visit at your Dunbar location. I believe that there was some sort of wrong-doing on the part of the staff. I plan to file a complaint with the BBB if there is not some form of compensation - as in the repair of my rack and pinion for CAUSING a leak. Again, I have witnesses that will testify that I have NEVER had any type of leak. NO one had to "top of the fluid" prior to me taking my van to your Dunbar location. I have hear horror stories about NTB since this happened and I shared my story with peers. So, what now? I have a van that has been serviced BEFORE it's due maintenance. I've had it taken care of at the dealer. It NEVER leaked before and I had NO symptoms of any kind of steering issues and now I have a leak AFTER taking my van to NTB for service. I am not happy and I plan to consult with an attorney. I want my leak repaired at NTB's expense. I know my van was damaged in the inspection process and I believe that your staff did something to cause this leak in order to have a "money job". Again, I will contact the BBB if I am not satisfied with your response. I have had to go thru the "Lemon Law" process in the past, I am NOT afraid to fight the big corporate folks. This is wrong and I will not sit still with it. I believe that leak "magically appeared" the night I came home AFTER it being service. NO, I DO NOT. Please advise as to how you plan to correct this problem. THank you.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] poor customer service by manager!

NC NATL TIRE & BAT #6252
NC NATL TIRE & BAT # 252

[protected]

Order Number [protected]
Date/Time In: 04/14/2018 07:32 AM
Date/Time Out: 04/14/2018 01:13 pm

Waiting over five hours for the service to my vehicle to be completed that involved installing new suspension struts and shock absorbers. This work resulted in a new alignment to be done as well.
I signed the work form and received my invoice and a copy of the "Graphic Alignment Report" of where my alignment was prior to alignment. I asked for a copy/print out of the "Graphic Alignment Report" after the alignment had been completed.
I was not asked if I wanted a print out prior to the car coming off the rack where the alignment was done. The closing sales associate Lisa Burgdoff gladly attempted to retrieve a copy but since the car was no longer on the rack with the devices attached to the wheels they could not print it out.
This is where the store manager "Adrian Wodecki" entered the picture to say he had stopped printing out the after results of the alignment in order to save money on ink cartridges. Ok so why would you bother to print out a before print out to show where your existing alignment is at and not print out after results to show that there has been an actual improvement and show the specs are within favorable numbers to keep your tires from wearing out. The manager said he only prints out the final result when the customer request it. Once again I was not asked if I wanted a print out after the alignment and my car was sitting in the parking lot waiting for me.

Makes no sense to nickel dime one sheet of paper with colored ink. I value my time and the tires on my car and want to know just what type of results have been achieved by the technician doing the alignment.
The manager said he could put it back on the rack to get a print out if I wanted. What a cheap [censor]! I just waited over five hours and he thinks I want to wait even longer. My bill was $885.23. This is how this guy expects to save the company money by nickel diming print out sheets that should be mandatory to show the customer the actual work being done.
The opening sales associate "Christopher Roman" is far a better person for the job. He is quite knowledgeable about the smallest details of any issues you might be having with your vehicle and will go out of his way to fully explain it as well. Lisa is great with customers and it is a pleasure to speak with her as well. Adrian is not a people person ntb, "sorry wrong man for the job". Now that I will look else where to have work done on my mini cooper, I hope saving that one piece of paper on a alignment print out was worth it to NTB Corporate.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] store manager

Good afternoon, I wanted to make you aware that your store manager at the Hixson, TN location is very rude every time I have made a visit. He acts like he doesn't have time to listen to my wants or needs, always in a rush. Not to mention I have seen him treat his employees with much disrespect. I did get his name it is Chris Grant. You may want to do something about his attitude or you might be loosing a lot of customers.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] overfilled my oil

NTB (East West Connector, Austell, GA) changed my oil on my F-150. They put too much oil in and caused engine damage. I was told to take my vehicle to a dealership and if there was an issue NTB would pay for it. The dealer stated that my engine needed to be rebuilt. It's been 45 days and NTB still has not released funds to the dealer. Very upset!

I brought my car to NTB location Alpharetta Hwy 9 N, GA for a scheduled oil change service. My car had no oil leaks prior to the service. Before the oil change and standard inspection before oil change and major things had been checked no oil leak was reported to me. I am informing you regarding problems I experienced with my automobile as a result of a bad oil change by NTB.

After the oil change and driving the car, I noticed oil puddles in my garage and in my driveway. I notified store manager. He told me to bring the car back and they will check it out. The manager stated after the inspection they had damaged the oil filter seal during the oil change causing oil leaks. He said they replaced the oil seal and due to the amount oil lost they topped up the oil level. I said I need to contact the district manager regarding damages and the store manager agreed. The district manager was notified of the problems.

A few weeks later, I had to contact the store manager again and take the car back to NTB for further inspection because oil was still leaking. NTB technician said they did not have the technical expertise to further fix the car or expect the car and source of oil leak they suggested I take the car the dealer.

Subsequent to that visit the car failed to start. I had the car towed and received diagnostics from a Certified European Car Repair Shop. The master mechanic reported the problems basically was caused bay a bad oil change.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] tire service

I recently bought a set of tires and was told a price to have them mounted as well. Once I received the invoice the price was almost two hundred dollars more than I was told. After bringing the car home my wife drove it to work the next day and when she got home I found 2 of the lug nuts in the driveway. Both back tires had all the lugs loose and were not tightened. I called the center to have my money refunded for the install and was told all they could do is maybe refund the tpms sensor kit which I was not told I would be charged.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] service was refused

On March 20 2018 I was refused an Oil change. I want to know your company's policy on changing the oil on an old car(25y/o) with a known oil leak. I went for an oil change on my 1993 Grand Am (181, 211miles). NTB on 2939 SW Military Dr., San Antonio TX, Phone [protected], Serviceman Gary Martinez.
I had a bottle of Lucas oil product ("engine oil stop leak" product) in my front car seat (every oil change I have this product added). When Mr. Martinez went to check my mileage information, he stated if I had a "bad" oil leak, they would NOT be able to change the oil . I stated it's an old car and that I knew of the "slow" longstanding oil leak, but that I was just trying to prolong the driving life of the engine by adding this Lucas product(I have been adding it for the past 5yrs). I told him it was not a "bad" leak and the car has been working fine with this product. No tail smoking, no rattling noise, no knocking to engine. I explained my car has a small leak from somewhere but not a constant dripping to where I have to constantly be adding oil. My car was lifted and he showed me the under surface of the car where he pointed out the area where you could see signs of oil residue on the undersurface including the oil pan surface. We stood there and I pointed out there was no flowing drip coming from the area but that it was a "slow" longstanding leak like I had mentioned to him. We stood there for awhile and no dripping was happening. I asked if the company's policy was not to change the oil on any car that leaked oil. The answer was - It depends on how "badly" the oil is leaking. Obviously we had a difference of opinion as to "what is considered a bad oil leak". I told him I could sign a release of any liability - responsibility, I would not hold any one responsible for any car trouble post the oil change. He said that wouldn't matter and NO oil change would be done. So what is considered a "bad" oil leak on a 25 y/o car ? In my opinion, I think it wouldn't be uncommon for a 1993 car to have a slow leak with signs of oil residue on it's undersurface. I think when he first saw the Lucas additive, he had already decided NOT to do the oil change no matter what the leak looked like. I left thinking he was very rigid in his thinking without being somewhat reasonable after seeing there was no dripping leak to my vehicle. Wondering what is your policy definition of a "Bad Leak"? FYI: If left to Mr. Martinez to decide, he will probably be turning away customers for oil changes with his rigid unreasonable thinking. Not a good impression to make on a 1st time customer. Resolution: Look into this matter and find out if it could have been handled with a better outcome( I had made an appointment for the service and was very unhappy with the wasted time spent at your place). Also consider a change to your company policy to service a customer who is willing to sign a release for any liability to you company for the service they are requesting. In my case a simple oil change which was done at another automotive service company without any problem or hassle. My information was entered into your NTB system by your employee ( Mr. Gary Martinez) if needed to contact me.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] service

New customer, bought 4 tires and an alignment. 509.00. Started driving home after I picked up my car and the steering wheel was not aligned! Took the car right back but they didn't have time to fix it. Made an 8:00am next day appointment. My car sat in the parking lot until 8 :45am! The problem should of been fixed asap yesterday! I mean really why was the steering wheel alignment my done properly the first time? I have to go in late for work today! Not good! I will be going back to pep boys from now on!

National Tire & Battery [NTB] bad service and management

I came here for a new set of tires in October, this is the third time I've had to return to fix whatever is wrong
I have a 10:30 appointment and here at 11:30 I still sit in the parking lot
This is the rudest bunch of people I've had to deal with
Almost a $1.000 on tired and this front end shakes more than my sister's bed on a Friday night
I feel like I'm using jackhammer when I'm on the freeway
What's the problem why can't these do called professional get a front end alignment right
And what are you going to do for all my trouble and rudess
Never again will I return here
I'm a waitress for 27 year's
You best believe I'm letting everyone know about this place
Something needs to be done
